Why are my audiobooks showing up in my iTunes but they are not showing up on my iPod nano?

So I downloaded an audiobook from an online source that is not from the iTunes store, but it is showing up in Books in the latest version of iTunes. I synced my iPod, and when I go into my Audiobooks in my iPod, it says that I don't have any. What is the problem? And how do I fix it?!?!

Have you double checked to make sure these Audiobooks are configured to sync to your iPod from under the iPod's Books configuration tab in iTunes?
To access this configuration tab, plug in your iPod and select it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes to bring yourself to the iPod's Summary tab. Now locate the Books tab and select it. Here you can configure what and how audiobooks are synced to the device.
If you make any changes to this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button on in the lower right hand corner.

The iTunes Library is divided into a number of sources, Music, Podcasts, Books etc. Each file added ends up in just one of these sources depending on its *Media Kind* plus any playlists for which it has matching criteria.
Settings such as *Part of a Compilation, Sort Artist* or *Sort Album Artist* can make albums appear in an unexpected location within Music.

It is in warranty does it need some repair?

Get a magnifying glass and a flashlight and make sure there is not something in the jack interfering with entry. If there is not, push harder.

New notes do not show up on my ipod nano, but old ones do

On my ipod nano I had no problem getting notes on it originally. But recently any notes I add onto my ipod nano do not show on the menu but show up in the notes folder when it is plugged in. Thankfully this is not the problem with old notes. They show up in both the menu and notes folder when plugged in. Am I doing something wrong and are there any ways to fix this?

I do not have a solution but I am having the same problem.

Why are notes I write on my IPad showing up on my husband's IPad and vice-versa? I don't have any experience with IPad but I am thinking it has something to do with our iCloud account possibly??

You are both using the same iCloud account which is syncing Notes, Reminders, Contacts, Calendars and other information between devices. This can be risky if your husband starts deleting your data from his device which will in turn delete it from yours. It is possible to manage multiple users using one Apple ID although it is better to use separate IDs for each person. iMessage and FaceTime which also can be setup for multiple users on one ID can be managed easier with separate Apple IDs.
You can change what syncs or remove an iCloud account from the device through Settings/iCloud. It is possible to keep the same Apple ID for iTunes purchases and then sign in to separate IDs for iCloud.
It is also possible to share Calendar and Reminders with other Apple IDs if needed rather than using one ID.

Sometimes the audiobook will play, then disappear from iPod's play menu after I reconnect to iTunes and load more music. I've got plenty of free memory, and iTunes shows the files still on iPod.
....or should I just roll it back to iOS 5... never had these kinds of issues with the old OS.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all AB and resync
To delete all ADgo to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>AB and try deleting them from there

I am copying audiobooks on CD to the iTunes, so that I can send them to my iPod, however I do not know how to keep all the disks that comprise a book ( sometimes up to 18 disks ) organized so that they are recognized as part of abook and played in sequenc

I guess I asked the question in the title, anyway one more time:I am copying audiobooks on multiple CDs to Itunes so that I can sync them to an Ipod and listen to them, how do I keep the multiple disks inone folder under one book title and how do I keep the tracks from intermingling with the tracks from another disk? EXAMPLE: I just downloaded one book, consisting of three CDs and I see the Track o1 information from each CD in sequence followed by three Track 02, instead of all tarcks from the first CD followed by the tracks of the next CD etc.

I have no way of following all of those steps successfully since I am about butterfingered a sthe last dinosaur and will make every mistake in the world and get frustrated with something that SHOULD be simple.
I have the three disk autobook showing in iTunes library as one title , I had to enter the dat amyself since it was not listed on the internet data base, All entries for all tracks match and I have indicated the disk number as one, two or three of three as indicated.
Yet when I sync the iTunes to the iPod I am being presented with each individual track listed in the Audiobook Menu.
I am using the latest version of iTunes and a iPod Classic 160G-- that I purchased three days ago purposefully for the converting of the audiobooks to a portable device since the Library of Congress ( NLS BARD ) books are formatted differently and the player is bulky.
Does anybody hav eany other ideas?
Does anybody have an e-mail address for Apple, preferably iTunes folks?
This is a handicap accessability problem since my wife cannot see and depends on these audio books.

I tried hard reset on my iPhone. I tried restarting laptop and iPhone. I tried a different laptop. I tried removing driver and reinstalling from Device Manager but did not find a driver other than "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" which I heard shouldn't be uninstalled.
Anything I haven't tried?

Are you seeing your music listed in the iPod screen, or in Win explorer as in your earlier post?
I can see all the songs in my Edrive>al's Ipod> Ipod Control> Music folder.
A corrupted iPod database, will report zero music used, and have your music size reported as others, so you wont see the music in the iPod screen. Sorry, I thought there was some hope for you with iPodAccess, in recovery of the corrupted iPod database with your ratings.
You can try to borrow and use the Mac Disk Utility ->First Aid ->Repair.
Of course, if your iPod Hardisk is in a bad state, from the Disk Diagnostic report, then all my suggestion are futile.

If they are in photos view then they are in an event unless you have a corrupted library
How are you"merging" the photos?
most common issue is either bad sort (view menu ==> sort events) or bad camera dates
select one and show event to see the event

Are you positive these tracks/playlists are configured to sync to your iPod Nano? To check, head to your iPod's Music configuration pane in iTunes. To access this pane/tab plug your iPod and select it under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes. Over to the right you should now be under the Summary tab. Locate the Music tab along the top and select.
Here you can configure how and what is synced to your Nano. At the very top, confirm that Sync Music is ticked. Then either select Sync Entire Library or choose to sync selected playlists, artists, genres.
If you make any changes to this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to sync the updated changes to your device.

I tried to add sf2 instruments. I put them in the audio/banks file but they do not show up in the DSL instruments on Garage Band. Why not?

How can I get sf2 intruments that I've downloaded to use in my GarageBand? I have downloaded them and have put them both in the GarageBand instruments folder and the Audio/Banks folder of my Library, but they do not show up in GarageBand on the DSL instruments as they should. I have some instruments in that category that I must have put in before, but can't find them in the audio/banks folder or the GarageBand instruments folder and cannot locate them with a my computer finder anywhere. They are listed in the DSL instruments on GarageBand when I open the program. Is there another library that this version of GarageBand can be using?? I have GarageBand '11 (version 6.0.4)d, which was updated a while back. I had the previous version of GarageBand with a diffent system quite a bit earlier. I've look in the "previous system" folder as well, and cannot find the instruments, or an audio/banks folder at all.

Mortimer, iTunes does not know when you restore a file. After you restore the file, you need to re-add the file to iTunes.
If you know exactly which files you restores, re-add them using File > Add File to LIbrary.
Otherwise, lre-add the folders. iTunes has certain safeguards to reduce duplicates when you do this, which are not perfect but are better than nothing. Start with a few small folders and see if you are happy with the results.
