Why does Aperture 3 suck so much? I'm not a troll...
I've been using Aperture 3 for 3 months now and I have downloaded the newest firmware update. I'm using a MacBook Pro with 4gb of RAM in it. And when I use Aperture 3 the only application I run alongside it is Safari. It hangs and crashes a lot. Especially when I'm using brushes. i brought my MBPro at Genius Bar (not-so Genius at all) at an Apple Retail Store here in Chicago, they did what they think is applicable to the problem yet to no avail it's still slow and crashes all the time. I now believe that if one is to use Aperture 3, they need a minimum of 8gb of RAM in their hardware. If not shy away from this software. This is a serious and legitimate criticism of this Apple product and look at forums everywhere, I'M NOT ALONE!!! APPLE WAKE UP, DO SOMETHING. APERTURE *****!!!

Why does aperture convert my raw files to jpegs when I import them from iPhoto?
It doesn't.
When you import Raw to iPhoto the app makes a jpeg preview of the Raw automatically. When you import from iPhoto then Aperture brings over both versions.

Why does the internet on my new macbook pro not work when my old macbook's does? I'll have to turn the wifi off and back on multiple times to get the internet to continue to work on my Macbook Pro (running mountain lion but did it on lion also) when it runs fine on my old white Macbook (running lion). Is there something I can do to fix it or do I just have to deal with it?

And it should go to your user folder/Library/ColorSync/Profiles
if you have one already you can rename either one ..
and then go to system preferences - displays - color to select the profile .
you will get rid of the blue tint while keeping correct color and gamma
This is for the newer 2010 MBP's altho if same display was used might also give good results in the previous models as well . . -

Why does the "fix" for firefox copying and pasting not work?
I did the fix a few times and restarted firefox, with no success. Also, I installed the latest version of firefox and it is slower now. I have to use firefox for school, otherwise I would just find another way.
In what way is Firefox slow?
Is this all the time or only with loading web pages?

All batteries recover a bit when they sit for a little while. Also most iPod battery apps register only in 5% increments, because it is hard to really be accurate to the single percent. Just because yours shows in 1% increments does not mean it is actually accurate to that level.

You probably typed an error that got accepted in your keyboard dictionary. To get rid of it, reset your keyboard dictionary. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary. This resets all the suggestions you’ve made to the dictionary.
To accept or reject dictionary suggestions:
To reject the suggested word, finish typing the word as you want it, then tap the suggestion to dismiss it before typing anything else. Each time you reject a suggestion for the same word, iPad becomes more likely to accept your word.
To use the suggested word, type a space, punctuation mark, or return character. -

This is not the place to make a point. This is a user to user support forum. I do not need instructions about the use and care or alleged failure of cables. At no time did I ever say or imply that you were an idiot, that is your statement and words, not mine. Take the time to Google and you will find instances where there have been injuries and death dealing with 3rd party cables and chargers. The abilities that Apple has for manufacturing and what business decisions they make in creating their products is nothing more than speculation, and that is not allowed under the terms of the forum that you agreed on when you joined here. I have aperture on iMac and macbook air - everytime I open aperture on air, it asks my name and key number. how do I get it to remember this? why does it do it?
Help please - I am tired of it.Be sure to enter the serial number, when you are logged in from an account with Administrator priveleges - otherwise the serial number cannot be stored.
Aperture is installed for all users on your mac, so the serial number is written to the system library, not the user library, and this requires read/write access for administrators. Do you enter your serial number using an administrator account?
When did this start? Have you migrated your system from another mac? Then you still may have an older ProAppSystemID file or Aperture cannot write to the System Library.
To stop Aperture asking for the serial number, first check, if you still have an old file "ProAppSystemID" in your System Library.
Quit Aperture.
Go to your MacintoshHD and open the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps".
Remove the File "ProAppsSystemID" to the Desktop, if it exist and restart Aperture.
Reenter your serial number, hopefully for the last time.
Sometimes Aperture writes this file to a temporary directory, when it cannot write to the Library. If the above does not work, look at the temporary directory /tmp
Use the Finder's "Go" menu
Go > Got to folder and enter /tmp into the textfield. If you see the file there, move it to its proper location.
Aperture must be running, and you will have to wait a few minutes to be seeing the file appearin the /tmp directory.
In this case you may want to repair the permissions on your system drive; you can do this using the "First Aid" tools in "Disk Utility" (located in Applications > Utilities)

I have an iPod Nano..forget which generation but it's the small square one, c2011.
Why does using the radio drain the battery so much faster than listening to MP3s does?Right..ok, then, so what the chip is doing is some kind of automatic gain control..compressor expander type thing? The consumption is so striking..I can probably get 2, maybe 3 days' worth of mp3 play.
lucky if I could get 4 hours' from the radio.
Still can't believe all that little gizmo does in the space of about 1 cubic inch. -
Why does aperture (OSX 10.7.5) delete image from album deletes master in project sometimes.
When on occasion does Aperture delete the masters and all versions when you delete from an album. This absolutely should not happen. If you create an albbum of selected images and when you have finished delete the album as not needed it deletes certain masters connected to that album as well. At the moment you can make an album fronm selected images but never dare delete it as you have no idea what you will lose!
Getting fed up with aperture!!Well, if we can catch you in a welcoming mood, let us see if we can't pro-actively correct some other user errors , just in case.
