Why does color of image change when imported to Photoshop

When I import or edit my Lightroom image into Photoshop the color tones of the image change to a darker tone.
I'm using the same screen.
What can I do to correct this?

Thanks for both responses .
I tried changing the export settings but still get a different color image rom the one I get in Lightroom.
Also, the monitor was recently callbrated, so could the answer be in PHOTOSHOP's color management settings?
When I checked PS's Color Settings window the " Working Spaces" setting was at  "sRGB"...
and
Color Management Policies @ "Preserve Embedded Profiles
My first export from LR was also @ sRGB.
Any thoughts on some common settings that might put this right?
Thanks again.

  • Why does my font/text change when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D in After Effects?

My font/text changes when I switch from Classic 3D to Ray traced 3D. Why is it doing this? Also, I cant get the font/txt to look the same after I switch from Classic to Ray traced. How can I get it to look the same?

I am pretty new to After Effects so I hope it's not my inexperience that's causing the problem. (It probably is)
I just updated to the most current version of AE.
    I am on a mac pro late 2013 12GB 6 core. Running OSX 10.9.4
Okay so after looking at it a little closer, I think the color is what mostly changes. The first screenshot is the what the text look like with Classic 3D and the second screenshot is what it looks like after I change it to Ray traced 3D. Also under the "Mode" section..the pull down that says "Normal" disappears. I'm wondering why the font color is changing?

  • Why does tooltip-called image flicker when it is over the trigger?

Using a tooltip to present an image works fine when the resulting image stays away from the trigger location, e.g. offset down and to the right.  If the image is nearly full-screen, it covers the trigger location and flickers rapidly, occasionally setting after a while, but only for a moment.  Same for a small text box, if the trigger is near bottom-right on the screen, causing the tooltip content to display over the trigger site.  Any ideas to stabilize the image/text when over the trigger?

Remove the dimensions in the following

  • PDF image changes when opening in photoshop

sometimes when we open PDF files in photoshop the image changes. sometimes text disappears and other times fading occurs. Here is how it can be duplicated:
    1. First try downloading the file here http://www.m3printing.com/files/wierd.pdf
    2. open the file with acrobat. take note of the red NYN in the upper left
    3. open the file with photoshop. you will notice the YN becomes faded
any clues as to why this is happening would be greatly appreciated
    ps. we use photoshop CS2

This doc is unnecessarily complex in its color structure.
It uses CMYK and seven spot colors. CMYK is DeviceCMYK,
which means, the space is not defined in the doc by an ICC
    profile.
A part of the red text vanishes if the doc is opened in Photo-
shop in CMYK mode. I don't know why. Perhaps a trans-
    parency flattening problem.
Analyzed by Acrobat > Tools > Print Production > Preflight.
My suggestion: convert each page into a well specified CMYK
space as recommended by the printer.
    The fastest solution:
Open in PhS in Lab mode with reasonably high resolution,
for instance 288ppi, convert into a specified CMYK space
    and save as TIFF.
    The correct solution:
Go back to the source program (InDesign) and replace all
Spots by process colors. Flatten and save by new name.
    Export as PDF.
Flattening in advance to Export guarantees the appearance.
Export with layers contains the risk that flattening at the
receiver turns out to be wrong.

  • Keeping images sharp when importing to Photoshop?

    Hello all,
I have a small problem I am hoping someone here could help me with.
Working with complex vectors is much better in Illustrator than in Photoshop but when I create my vectors in Illustrator and then pull them into Photoshop, they always end up being more blurry than when I work in Photoshop alone.
Is there some sort of trick in working between the two to retain pixel perfect bliss?

Pasting vector art into Illustrator and keeping as much of it sharp as possible can be a tricky thing depending on the project. It takes some up front planning before and during the design process to get the best results, especially if you're working on something that will have a limited amount of resolution like a web page interface. If your buttons, boxes, etc. that you're designing in Illustrator don't line up with the pixel grid in Photoshop the edges will be blurred and inprecise rather than razor sharp.
It can help to make sure raster effects settings, document size, etc. in Illustrator match up with the document size in Photoshop. Within Illustrator the document either needs to be designed using a pixel-based unit of measure or something that corresponds with it. Hard edged objects (such as a rule line, rectangle, etc.) need to be sized and lined up with the pixel grid to avoid having edges blurred when pasted into Photoshop.
Here's another "gotcha": Photoshop doesn't paste Illustrator artwork into a PSD document precisely. For the past few versions Photoshop often misaligns the artwork when it is pasted. It doesn't matter whether you paste the Illustrator artwork as pixels or paths. Zoom in very tight and the artwork will typically be off between 1/4 and 1/2 pixel -enough to really screw up an intricate web page interface layout. This glitch isn't a big deal as long as both the Illustrator artwork and Photoshop document are properly sized. I just use Photoshop's transform function to resize the Illustrator artwork so it precisely lines up with the Photoshop document. I use the side handles to snap the artwork to the edges of the Photoshop document and then click the check mark. Zoom in tight to check the results. If the Illustrator art was designed with the pixel grid in mind it should line up perfectly once the transform is applied to the pasted artwork.

  • Why does my image change when imported into Mac Captivate?

The image is a png and originally part of a Captivate 6 template created in Windows. When I import the image into Mac OS X Captivate 6 the quality literally changes before my eyes.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening? and how I can correct it?
    Thank you!

If that's the only place you used that unique font, yes.  Convert the textbox to an image file by applying a drop shadow to the font and setting the opacity of the drop shadow to 5%.

  • Why does the file size change when put into an iDVD project? And problems with dual layer discs...

I exported a short video of mine from Final Cut Express and the size of the file came out to 7.3 GB. When I put it into an iDVD project, it says that the file is only 800 MB. I tried just burning it onto a dual layer disc anyway to see if it might still burn at the original file size, but the disc came out unusable for some reason, and obviously hadn't been burned anywhere near full-capacity. So, I tried it again, and the exact same thing happened.
I guess my first question is: why is iDVD changing the size of the file? I want the quality to be the best it can be, so keeping it at 7.3 GB as opposed to 800 MB is rather important.
Secondly, why did the dual layer discs come out unusable? I've burned single layer discs before and they haven't been an issue. Also, I know for a fact that the drive can burn dual layer discs, so that isn't the issue.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide me with help on this issue.

Guessing here but it looks like you edited/exported an SD/DV sequence of about 30 min in FCE. DVD needs to be MPEG-2 so iDVD compresses the original file down to the size that you report.

The quality will be what the MPEG-2 compression and the software allow for. MPEG-2 is DVD standard .... there's no way around that.

Guessing again but it would seem that you burned a Data DVD instead of a Video DVD which would be unusable by a set-top player. As I said above you can't get around DVD standards.
If by any chance your video was HD originally you can try to go the Blu-Ray route using Roxio Toast or FCS 3 (discontinued) or FCP X. You will also need a Blu-Ray burner.

  • Why does my block diagram change when I copy my code to another system?

I am doing development work on a laptop on Win XP and using LabVIEW 2009 with service pack 1. When I copy the code to the target system, my block diagrams are changed and no longer fit the screen. Much of the code is spread out, mainly down. The target system is running Windows 7 and also has LabVIEW 2009, SP 1.
I notice that any constants that are clusters are expanded when copying the code to the other system. I've gone in and turned off the autosizing for these clusters but they are still expanded. I like to shrink them to a small size for saving space.
I've gone through and manually re-adjusted the block diagram on the target system, but when I copy it back to my development laptop, the same thing happens again. This is not an acceptable way to develop code and it has caused a real problem to proceed. I'm contracting this work and must develop this code offsite. Can anyone please help me with this? I can't keep restructuring my block diagrams every time I copy the code from one system to the other.

Windows XP used Tahoma size 8 as its basic system font.  When MS came up with Vista, they changed it to Segoe size 9.  I'm not sure what Win 7 is, but I think it is the same as Vista.  That font change, and certainly font size change seems to be the underlying cause for block diagrams changing their appearance.  (And for front panel controls and labels as well.)
LV seems to use the Windows system font as its default font.  Interestingly, it seems like the font sizes in LV are something like size 12, 13, 14, 15.  I think a size 9 is equivalent to a size 15, but I'm not sure about the comparisons.  (Check out this thread.)
There are a few things you can do to try to make one system look more like the other.
    1.  Go into the Windows screen settings. In Vista, right click desktop, Personalize.  Window color and appearance.  Open classic appearance properties.  Try changing the color scheme from Windows Aero, to something like Windows Classic or Windows standard.  They both use Tahoma 8.
    2.  Or same as Step 1, but go further into Advanced button.  Pick on any option that uses font such as Menu, Message Box, Active or Inactive Title Bar and change the font there.  I'm not sure which of the items that has a font setting is the key one.
    3.  LV uses 3 fonts called Application, System, and Dialog.  I think each of those map to one of those Windows options, but I'm not sure which goes to which.
    4.  In LV, Tools/Options/Environment has a subsection called Fonts.   Those 3 basic LV fonts are selectable there.  There is also a checkbox for me which is checked and says to use default.  If you uncheck that checkbox, a Font Style button becomes enabled.  You go in there and you can choose fonts and sizes.  And the Application, System, and Dialog fonts as well as all the usual fonts names (Arial, MS Sans Serif, Greek, ....) are selectable along with fonts sizes.  Play around in there.  The whole section is very confusing, and I have no idea how it works.  I recommend going to this idea A better way to specify (default) fonts and putting in a vote.   Also this idea, Fix font behavior between windows versions, platforms & executables, deserves some love.
    5. Some of these settings can also show up in your LabVIEW.ini file.
    FPFont = "0" 15
BDFont = "0" 13  (I think the "0" means app font, "1" means system font, and "2" means dialog font)
    Also,
    appFont="Tahoma" 13
    systemFont="Tahoma" 13
    dialogFont="Tahoma" 13
(And if necessary, put these in your built application's .ini file)
As you can see, there are a lot of different things going on and they also seem to conflict with each other.  I starting stumbling on the block diagram issue between working on my app on XP at work and on my Vista machine at home about 6 months ago.  I think my problem actually started with the front panel when I was trying to align labels, and use some arrow head decals on boolean buttons.  I think I did the customization of buttons in a couple different ways (because I did some, came back later to do others, and couldn't remember exactly how I did it.)  As a result some decals looked different than others when I changed machines.  And I swear going from XP to Vista, or Vista to XP the problem got both worse ways rather than let's say larger one way, and smaller the other way.
Replying to your message is about as much to me trying to combine all the pieces of knowledge I've stumbled across over the past months and year as it is for trying to help you.  Hopefully, this information gives you some places you can look at and play with.  (I bet #1, would be a quick, easy way to solve your immediate problem, but I haven't really tried it myself to be sure.)
I hope someone from NI who has a better understanding than me about these font issues could jump in and correct any mistakes I made, or add anything I might have left out.  What we really need is some sort of "nugget" or National Instruments white paper that really explains all of this in ways we can use rather than us stumbling around in the dark doing things trial and error to figure it out.  Generally, any changes to the .ini files require you to shutdown LV and restart it to take effect which can take a couple minutes.  And considering all the various combinations of things that can be done above, your talking about dozens of possible restarts, and sending .vi's between two different PC's with two different operating systems, before figuring these things out.

  • Why does the stage layout change when native menu added

I have a program that was fine till I added a native menu to it. After adding the menu I have a space on both the left and the right of the stage. If I draw a shape at x=0, y=0 it appears about 40 pixels to the right of the window border. If I remove the menu the space still occurs what is going on?

Adding the menu shrinks the effective size of the stage. This happens because in the app descriptor, you set the outer size of the window, not the stage size. When you add a menu, the space for the menu is created by removing space from the stage, not by increasing the height of the window.
You see the bars around the app because you have the stage scalemode set to something other than noScale.(noScale is NOT the default.) The other scale modes attempt to keep most or all of the app in view when the app is not the same size as the stage (which happens when you add a menu to a window). The space around the edge is the result of the runtime scaling your content into the available space When you remove the menu, this space should be returned to the stage -- and does in my tests, so I can't explain why you don't see the scaling go away. Perhaps you are drawing your content based on the reduced stage size so you still have extra space after the menu is removed.
The stage align property determines how the content is positioned on the stage when it is scaled down. The default is center which distributes space to either side when the stage is scaled horizontally, which is why the origin effectively moves away from the left side of the window. If you used the an AlignMode of top left, the origin would stay in the top left corner.
In general, I recommend setting the stage scaleMode to noScale in an application, unless you have a specific need for one of the other scale modes. Even then, you can still scale things programmtically using logic appropriate to the situation. The other modes were designed for use in a browser where the SWF author may not have control of the stage and so must choose the least-bad compromise. In an AIR app, you have control and so don't need to make that compromise.

  • Why does object frame style change when I re-size the object?

I am creating a catalog with lots of images that I anchor amidst text.  I have created a simple style that just adds a 1pt black stroke frame, and apply to each. When I later decide to re-size one of the images (primarily by dragging with mouse with CTRL-SHIFT), I notice that the style has been over-ridden, and the frame appears altered. I can then successfully clear the over-ride, but what a pain.  How can I avoid this? Is there a way to "mass" reset many such problems? Like Find/Change, object style, and clear over-ride?

If you can not see "Adjust Stroke Weight When Scaling" option in the control panel, you will need to enable it first.
Go to Edit > Menus > Category: Context & Panel Menus > Control Panel Layout Menu and then make sure "Adjust Stroke Weight When Scaling" has an eyeball selected to make this visible.

  • Why does my frame size change when transcoding?

My movie files are 720x534, NTSC D1 Square Pixel.  When Encore transcodes them they become 720x480 which clips off the left and right sides of the movies.  Is there any way to get around this, either by rendering the movie files differently in AE or controlling the transcode in Encore?

I hope Todd Kopriva drops by and adds his two cents, since an AE expert may shed some further light.
From Rick Gerard's Understanding the use of square vs non-square pixels in AE:
Standard Image and Composition settings for DV projects:
The proper standard size for a square pixel composition that is going to be FIT into NTSC DV at 720 X 480 is 720 X 534
The sentence after that one is:
For Square pixel artwork that is going to be used directly in an NTSC DV 720 X 480 comp the proper size is 648 X 480.
I don't understand the full implications, but I think you do not want to fit your composition "into" NTSC DV, you want to use it directly.
I'll also note that the Gerard piece appears to be from 2001, so, while it may still work fine, I wonder if the PAR changes as of CS4 complicate using it.  I like the Meyers piece on this now.
Here is Todd's blog that has several relevant links, including one to the Meyers piece.

  • Why does the revealed image flicker when using the Show/Hide feature?

I started using the Show/Hide Button and Forms function in InDesign CS6 and have had some peculiar things happen. I was mocking up some samples and on the swf version if you hover over the left side of the blue rectangle all is fine but if you move to the right side of the blue rectangle the image starts to flicker. When you hover over the red rectangle the pop-up image just flickers constantly. I guess there must be some issue with having the button for a revealed image under some portion of the revealed image. See: http://www.idugsf.com/_a/FI_BookSamples.html .
The problem went away when the button and the revealed image did not overlap.
This problem didn't occur with another file I had originally created in CS5.
On the pdf version the buttons which are on their own layer behind the revealed image moved to the front in the pdf: http://www.idugsf.com/_a/FI_BookSamples.pdf
