Why does ' ' kill my dynamic textbox content?

Well... I think it's because Flash sees it as a broken HTML tag, so I guess my real question is how to fix it?
Here's the scoop:
I have a dynamic textbox which is being assigned a variable. The textbox is set to render as HTML and all fonts are loaded.
The following variables appear fine in my textbox:
varText = "This is bold";
varText ="Two is > One.";
but this one
varText ="One is < Two.";
is truncated as soon as it hits the "<". Wrapping everything in variable doesn't help
Any ideas?

OK... I go it solved.
First I realized that inserting a < into the HTML string did display the "<".
But, a mass replace killed all my actual HTML tags of course.
So, I had to write a script to seek out all instances of "<" and leave the actual tags alone (eg , , etc.), but replace the other instances with the character code.
There's probably a better way... but at least this works.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Why does Safari drop pre loaded content on tabs other than the one you are browsing on? Happening in iPad 2 OS 6.0 and MBP Mountain Lion
(It did it on this post as well. I had written a longer post, went to add a product and my post had vamooshed).

Try this:
Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.

Why does BC reorder the head content (meta,css,js)?

The HEAD of my HTML document is within the master page template. Within the HEAD is meta tags, css links, and js references. The order of this content is changed when the system renders a page. Why does the system do this?

You can not control the head BC sorts at the moment.
Change it to -
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
And it should stay right after the head for that bit though.

I'm genearlly happy with the idea of my Apple TV 2, but I've got two problems with it that keep popping up and I have no idea how to fix them:
1- Watching HD video causes the image to flicker on long shots. My TV is a 40" Sharp Aquos from 2010. SD content seems fine. Tried several HDMI cables and no dice.
2- At random times, the Apple TV 2 will lose all the information from my itunes libraries. It'll still connect but give me the message "There are no items" or something similar. My current workaround is to disconnect from home sharing, then reconnect and enter my username and password with the Apple remote (remote app on iPhone no longer works at this stage) which is a pain, because my PW is complicated.
Any solutions?

There may be a couple of reasons for this. It may simply be poor encoding. Alternatively stuttering can become quite noticeable on panned shots when the the framerate of the video does not match the TV output frequency.
2- At random times, the Apple TV 2 will lose all the information from my itunes libraries. It'll still connect but give me the message "There are no items" or something similar. My current workaround is to disconnect from home sharing, then reconnect and enter my username and password with the Apple remote (remote app on iPhone no longer works at this stage) which is a pain, because my PW is complicated.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

Why does my Safari block out content with random blocks of white?

I upgraded my mid-2008 Macbook Pro this week. I went from the last non-unibody model to a Retina MBP 15". I did not move my old computer over, however: I am simply installing apps and moving docs as needed.
I mention all of this because I am encountering a strange issue in Safari: as I browse, my screen will beome covered with blocks of blank white squares. Here's a recent example from GMail:
As you can see, the content beneath the white square begins to show itself as I pass the cursor over certain aspects of the page.
This does not happen exclusively in GMail. I've seen it across my web browsing. It also occurs in text windows: as I type, the most recent word will sometimes disappear -- it's still there, but I can't see it unless I pass my mouse over it.
Any clues as to what could be causing this? This was not a problem I had on my old Macbook. I am guessing and hoping that it's software, not hardware, related.
I am on Safari 6.0.2 and OS X 10.8.2.

Please read this whole message before doing anything. This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. Step 1 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.” While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin. Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem? After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it. *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing. Step 2 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

In CS6, why does my Ae dynamic link comp not stay rendered in Pr after render/save?

I create a composition in Ae. Import the file and dynamic link to desired composition in Pr. Render a native timeline. Save it, then either go back a few minutes later or open the project again and the render preview is gone, requiring another full render to playback smoothly. Are my preview files being discarded or something of that nature?

Why does InDesign interactives table of contents does not always work in page mode ?

I'm working on a large document (400 pages) made of 12 Indesign documents in a book. When I export the entire book in one interactive pdf file, some the elements from the interactive table of content do not work. When I export the file as «spread», everything works, when I export the file in «pages» some elements loose their interactivity.
I'm on CS6 on Mac.

Why does my Adobe Dynamic XML Form (*.pdf) submit as data.xml

Hi, I have created a form and saved it as Adobe Dynamic XML Form (*.pdf) the form used to submit perfectly via email but today it keeps attaching to the email as in a data.xml format. What would cause this and how do I fix it.
P.S. I am a novice with Livecycle

Check the properties on your submit button. That is where you define the submission format.

Why does iTunes not display hdcp content on my second monitor? The adapter monitor and cable have HDCP Support. This also occurs with a rocketfish mini display port to hdmi adapter.

It works for a time and then fails.
ITunes 11.04.
iMac Purchased Early 2013.

Seems to work when I swapped dapaters from theb 3.0 adapter to the mini display port adapter. THis is the same thing that got it worling the first time byt in reverse.
Had already tried clearing the PRAM. If it occurs again, I will have to try redetecting displays next time. Judging by what I saw reading through these forums it will happen again,

HT1657 why does iTunes store have different content than AppleTV?

I just tried to rent Ghostbusters on AppleTV and it isn't listed. But it is available on iTunes on my desktop computer. How do you sync these up?

The Apple TV allows you to choose a preferred resolution for your movies and TV shows. Depending on which resolution you have chosen, only those movies and TV shows available in that resolution will be available for purchase or rent. This will likely explain the differences that you see between the iTunes Store on your computer andthat on the Apple TV.

It would be just as easy to release both a dubbed version and then a subtitled version.
I am a native english speaker but live in France. My father has just moved over to live with me in France and speaks very little French.
The price for a television series is very often more than a dvd box set but does not offer language options.
My French is passable but I would still prefer to hear the programme in English.
Using itunes uk is not an option as my cards are french or english with a french postal address.
The content has been adapted for the french site all i want is to access the original.
The series i have been trying to buy is HBOs 'boardwalk empire'.
The stupid thing is to please my father i would buy up most the HBO, BBC and Channel 4 content a cost of a couple of thousand euros.

France has come a very long way with regard to other languages. When I lived in France, mid-880s, there was an entire Ministry devoted to the purity of the French language...that was the time the PC came out. A TV news person was cashiered for using the term 'computer' on-air instead of the French created word 'ordinateur'. They took the language extremely seriously at that time. At least today there is recognition and even use of English by the masses

Why does my exported .swf show more content than actually on frame?
My problem is relatively simple, though, I had some trouble finding a solution to it:
When I play my exported animation using flash player in Google Chrome, if the window is bigger than the resolution flash document/frame, it shows content not meant to show up on the frame -- like parts of a huge background that aren't supposed to show up yet.
In other words, how do I constraint the .swf to the white background/document resolution?

Anyone? I'd appreciate it if someone replied soon -- I am done with my project once this issue is resolved, and I am excited to publish it.

This error is generally specific to Internet Explorer and has two possible causes. The most likely explanation is that your browser has unusual browser security settings. I would recommend you try
resetting your security settings to defaults (varies by version but all essentially the same). You may also have to turn off
Protected Mode which is enabled by default on some systems. If you’re seeing this error (or a version of it) outside Internet Explorer, you may have a server-level setting that is preventing your content from being framed.
