Why does my 3G iPhone no longer rings nor vibrates when receiving calls and text messages?
During a two weeks process, little by little I notice my phoe doesn't ring when I get a phone call. So Far I have missed 22 calls that I am aware of. Moreover, the phone does not alert me when I get a text message. Sometimes I receive notice the next day that I received a call or a text message.

Follow the basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the user guide... reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1) suddenly stopped receiving calls and text messages. However, I'm still able to send them.
The workaround for fixing this issue is to make an hard reset to the iPhone.
This only occured with 5.0.1 version. It's very annoying because I'm not able to know if it's working or not (I can only suppose that it's not working when I'm a long period without receiving calls/messages)
Do you know how to solve this ?

However, in these settings when I try to change the sound I get only the vibration and not the sample sound. Can anyone help?

IPhone fails receiving calls and text messages

Hi everyone, here is my problem.
I have an iPhone 4 32GB. It was on iOs 5.1 (always worked perfectly) untill few days ago I have upgraded to iOs 7.1.
The problem after the upgrade is that phone calls or sms messages fails to be received. Strange thing is I can receive at times calls from cellphones, but I don't receive calls from land line numbers. And text messages arrive all at once after hours.
I have restored the phone in DFU mode twice, set up as new phone , tried a hard reset, network reset... nothing worked. It still fails to receive phone calls and sms messages.
Before you ask, the "don't disturb" is disabled.
I live in Italy and have a contract with TIM, i spoke with their cistomer service and according to them there's nothing more i can do on my end.
Any idea?

Settings app > Notification Center > Messages (you will need to check both the INCLUDE and DO NOT INCLUDE sections). Set the alerts you wish to see.

When I try to open my messages it just comes up as a blank screen, doesn't even say 'Messages' at the top and then it freezes. When I try going into my contacts and try to send a message to someone it comes up as a blank screen as well. People tell me they text my phone but I don't get a notification, I only hear the sound and the text message number goes up (sometimes). I can't receive any calls, and I can't make them. I try to dial in a number and press the call button but the screen doesn't even change. What can I do to fix this? I tried restoring my phone and nothing changed. You tried restoring the phone. What happened when you did that? Did you restore from backup, or restore as new? If you did not restore as new, try that without putting any content back on the phone and then test for a short period. Did it work? If so, then try putting your backup back onto the device. Does it still work? If not, then something is corrupt in your backup. Restore the device as new again and sync content back manually. If you restore as new and the device does not work, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Provider and have the hardware checked.

This phone was purchased direct from apple, so came unlocked. My sim card is from o2 in the UK and the phone works OK when on the o2 network. But when roaming in Europe as I do every weekday the signal consistently drops out and the phone reports "no signal" when in fact there are usually several networks available. I used Apple maps on my iPhone, iPad and iMac and prefer it over Google maps except for street view (which albeit has an annoying, difficult to use interface). In El Salvador, Apple maps was certainly more accurate than Google maps. I like Apple maps turn-by-turn navigation via my Sonata's sound system, quite nice

Why my friend's iphone 5s is always busy on a first call and is ok on redial?

A friend of mine has an iphone 5s. Since a week back, all incoming calls to that phone on a first dial go busy ( "number busy" appears on the caller's phone) and on an immediate redial, the call is normal. We have tried this from a few different numbers and the problem persists. Is it a problem with the setting etc?

my son had this problem. I went to the apple store and they wiped out and restored the phone.. They said that was all they could do but that I should call our phone carrier and ask them. I did. They asked if in the top left side, next to battery power there was a icon of a half moon. There was. They said to go in to settings and go to "Do not Disturb" and turn it off. I did.....problem solved!!! Somehow "do not disturb" was turned on and that is what happens if it is!!

Delays in receiving imessages and text messages after iOS7 update - iphone 4s

Sending messages is never a problem (unlike a lot of issues I've read) only receiving, and the sender of the message is always notified it was sent successfully - even though i receive the sent message minutes to days after.
Sometimes the messages are only received if:
1) I tap the messages icon
2) the screen freezes for 10-30 seconds
3) I get a rush of new message notifications that say "2d ago" or "35 min ago"
Any one else having the above problem? - Not happy at all with iOS7 performance on my 4S so far.

its giving you a choose on device sign in with apple id or create apple id. sounds like you are selecting create. do this

IPhone 4S isn't telling me when I get a text message

Ill get a text message or iMessage and it won't have a banner or anything on the lock screen so ill unlock my phone and the message will just be there this started happening right after I updated to 6.1.3 how can I fix this?

Check if there's a moon icon on the top right of the screen by the battery icon. If you see that icon your "Do not disturb" is on; turn it off and it should fix the problem. I don't recall turning that function on in the first place, but when I checked it was enabled.
