Why does photoshop elements 12 stall in perfect group shot merge when i get to the point of dragging from the photo bucket to the workspace

Photoshop Elements 12 is stalling when I want to merge group shots.  I am able to put the photos into the photo bucket however if i try to drag the photos to workspace it stalls.

There is a browser plugin or software (BrowserSafeGaurd) which blocks and  tampers network calls. This software has been reported as malware. Please check if you have it on your machine and remove that by following steps mentioned on http://www.tomsguide.com/us/browser-safeguard-remove-how-to,news-19273.html and try to license the software once again.

Why does Photoshop Elements 11 open files in a lower resolution than I saved them?

The only meaningful figures for 'resolution' with a digital image are the pixel dimensions. They are not changed by saving.
The ppi (pixel per inch) information is not a property of the image, just like the dimensions of your prints : it's your choice when you want do display or print your images. The detail level of your image is dependent on the pixel size.

  • Why does Photoshop Elements 6 not work with Apple OSX version 10.9?

I have recently updated my MacBook Pro and my Mac desk top to OSx version 10.9 and now Photoshop elements 6 does not respond.  It opens and then stays frozen.  Nothing responds.  Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this issue?

    Specifically, this:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5860819
But it is also very important to delete any existing preferences after a major OS X upgrade. For PSE 6 that would be:
    com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 paths
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 settings
They're in your username>library>preferences. Here's how to find it in 10.9:

  • Why does Photoshop elements 9 not start once I downloaded Wacom drivers?

I use Photoshop Elements 9, it is fully updated.
I recently switched from a bamboo tablet to an intuos. Previously, my bamboo worked perfectly. Elements could detect pen pressure and worked fine. Now, elements (the editor, not the organizer) has stopped booting.
However, I recently got an intuos and once I downloaded the drivers, Photoshop would stop booting. For example:
I try to open up a photoshop file, photoshop would stop responding.
I open up the welcome screen and click on edit, the edit button shows that loading sign for awhile before returning back to the normal edit button. After that, nothing happens and the editor doesn't open.
I try to open the editor directly, it stops responding.
There were however less than ideal ways I could force elements to boot. I could open up Wacom Tablet Properties, and delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements preference over there. When I do that, photoshop boots instantly even if it was in the middle of not responding. Even when I try to boot with the welcome screen and the edit button just fades, as soon as I delete the preference, elements boots. Even if I was waiting for fifteen or twenty minutes before deleting the preference, elements would boot. Another way I can get photoshop to open is using the wacom tablet preference file utility to delete the preference.
However, when this happens, pen pressure doesn't work and the cursor is really laggy. The disc keeps appearing over the cursor.
    Other stuff I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. I've tried using the disc the tablet came with. I've also tried the installing the driver from the website.
I'm not sure about resetting the photoshop elements preferences. I've tried clicking ctrl+shift+alt and clicking to open photoshop but it just opens up the properties window. (But isn't what I did with wacom tablet preference utilities achieving the same thing?)
I greatly appreciate any advice you could give me! Like if this is even the proper place to ask?

  • Why does Photoshop Elements 10 print dark and red, and not match the computer screen?

I switched from Photoshop Elements 7 to Photoshop Elements 10.  I cannot get a print of a photo that matches the screen.  Photos are dark and red.  I cannot edit the photos because I do not know what will print out.   I have switched back to Photoshop 7 and my photos print fine, just as they have been edited.  I have spent hours on the Chat line with Adobe.  They have yet to help me resolve this problem.  Does anyone else have this problem or know what to do?  Adobe sure doesn't. I feel I have wasted money and am afraid to ever upgrade again.

If you are using Photoshop Elements Editor for printing then make sure you have handled the color management of PSE correctly.
There are two different scenario available in PSE to handle color management.
Scenario 1 (When printer manages color). If you're known and familiar to your printer profile, the type of paper you are using and if you have any other customization done for your printer profile then in this case please select Printer Manages Color in Color Handling drop down under color management of PSE.
To achieve this, follow these following steps.
    1. Launch Print dialog.
    2. Click on "More Options..." button.
    3. Now select Color management.
    4. Here you can see the Color Handling drop down. Please select Printer Manages Color.
Note:- Use this scenario when you are sure a about your printer profile and settings.
Scenario 2 (When Photoshop Elements handle color). In case you want PSE to handle all color management then please select Photoshop Elements Manages Color in Color Handling drop down. Then select the same printer profile as Image space.
Note:- If you are using this option, make sure the color management of your Printer is off.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Why does Photoshop Elements not remove the old version after installing an upgrade?

When I install a new version of Photoshop Elements, it converts the old catalog but does not remove the old programs.  I just installed PS 11 over PS 10 and it did not remove it.  I have had the same problem with each upgrade.  I have to manually uninstall the old version.
    Thanks.

It's good to have the software you paid for
Uninstalling the older version post an upgrade might be discomforting to many users, so...
Catalog conversion works fine irrespective of whether you uninstall or do not uninstall the older version since the catalog folders are not touched during uninstall.
    Thanks

  • Why does photoshop elements 10 back up files in xml format

I am trying to backup my catalog including tags to my external hard drive. When I do the files are all in XML format. When I attempt to open using Photoshop
i get "wrong type of file" or they are just a lot of code. What is going on. Where are the pictures?

I downloaded them into the same folder, and once that was done, I did as you said and opened PhotoshopElements_10_LS15.exe. It asked for my serial number and everything, seemed as though it was installing, and asked to restart in order to complete the process. I restarted the computer, and...I don't see Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 anywhere. There is a folder on my desktop that goes by the name of Photoshop Elements 10, but it only contains data files and things that I can't use. It's not the actual software....
    What should I do?

  • Why does Photoshop Elements close when I try to get into Organizer?

I have no problem getting into my Photoshop Elements 8, have no problems going into Editing and editing photos, but when I try to get into the Organizer, Photoshop Elements closes, totally.  This has happened in the past when I've been either working in Organizer or Editing, closed Photoshop, and then opened it shortly thereafter.  However, if I closed it and waited several minutes, I'd have no problem getting into Organizer.  Not this time.  Was in it earlier today, couldn't get into Organizer when I tried later, waited a long time several times, with no luck.
One correction:  If I open Elements and try to get into Organizer, Elements closes totally.  If I'm in Edit and click on Organizer, nothing happens.  I'm still in Edit, but can't get into Organizer from there.

Suggest that you reset preferences. Sometimes this will correct strange behavior.
    Exit PSE.
Open PSE just to the Welcome Screen and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Mac: Cmd + Opt + Shift) and keep pressing.
Click on "Edit" from the Welcome Screen but keep pressing the keyboard keys - don't let up.
You will get a little dialog box asking if you want to delete the settings file. Click "Yes."  You can let go of the keyboard keys now.
This will rebuild the file for you and often solves the issue.

  • Why wont Photoshop elements 12 save to DVD in MPEG2 format when I have Premiere Elements 12 package loaded onto pc also?

I purchased the Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 12 package at Best Buy.  I created a slideshow within the Photoshop Elements Package.  When finished, I tried to save it using the instructions noted within the Help section of the Photoshop Elements 12 application.  The slideshow was saved outside of Adobe Premiere Elements. When I tried to playback the DVD to which the slideshow was burned, it wouldn't play in my regular DVD player or a Blue Ray DVD Player.  There is no instruction to import the slideshow into Premiere Elements prior to saving it to a DVD.  The WMV format that Adobe uses will not allow the DVD to play anywhere other than my PC, or another P.C.  The help section of the application states that the the file would automatically be converted into a MPEG2 format using the Photoshop application.  Please explain what I'm missing!!!  Desperate for help, as I have a family reunion this weekend,  The DVD  has 450 photos on it and the DVD was part of a gift package for the family.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • Why does photoshop (cs5) 'hang/stall' when saving as jpeg?

i've been noticing that the program has seemed to run slower than it was a few months ago - taking longer to load up, buttons being unresponsive for a few seconds, etc.  recently i noticed if i'm saving my psd file as a jpeg it will 'hang' for several seconds with the "ok" button greyed out.  after several seconds it will turn blue but when i click it, it acts unresponsive but after a few more seconds it saves the document.  but there's no click animation or whatever you might call it.
like i said it just recently started running generally slower.. laggier.
if anyone has any clues or advice, it would be much appreciated.
    some specs - intel core i3/ 3.06GHz/ 4MB/ ATI Radeon HD 4670

While you're interacting with the Save As dialog, you're really working with Windows Explorer, rather than with Photoshop.  The dialog is part of the OS.
I suggest that you must have installed a Shell Extension that's somehow causing stalls or failures behind the scenes.
A great freeware program you can use to both enumerate and ultimately disable Shell Extensions you don't want running is the Shell Extensions Manager by Nir Sofer:
    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html
An effective strategy, if a bit time consuming, is to disable non-Microsoft plug-ins one at a time, followed by a logout and login, then test.  Once you've disabled the one that's causing the problem you should see your Explorer dialogs speed up.
    Good luck.

  • Why does Photoshop Elements not see my CD/DVD drives?

I have a CD/DVD drive and a Blu-Ray drive. Windows sees both and has no issues, but Elements does not show them for catalog backups nor even in the system information.

    Hi Matthew,
I'm not familiar with the Daemon tools programme but the loss of the CD/DVD drive is a known problem when removing certain software from you notebook.
The Microsoft Knowledge Base has several artocles about the problem and how to resolve it.

  • Why does Photoshop Elements 11 uninstall every time after my computer has been shut down/restarted?

Every time my computer is shut down and I go to use photoshop, I have to reinstall the program completely. The icon is still on my computer screen but it's not downloaded. Please help!!!

This has nothing to do with Adobe. You are running with insufficient user privileges and are not allowed to make permanent changes to the system. Make sure to install with admin priivileges and also tame system restore and otehr security functions.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
