Why has iCloud picked iTunes user name instead of @me

Whilst setting up iphone, icloud used my itunes ID instead of mobile me. WHY? Does anyone have a solution so I can use one accout ID for both accounts?

You can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs.
Use your ex-MobileMe email address (which is also an Apple ID) for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

I'm not sure, but as far as I know, since Windows 7, the label of UserName field was "User name". There is indeed some changes of Windows Credentials Provider since Windows 8 and you can refer to the document below for more details:

At this time there is no "solution." You'll simply have to wait the 90 days to re-enable iTunes Match.
For now here is my suggestion. In your User Account, in OS X, sign out of whatever iTunes Store account you are signed in with. Then sign in with your store account and leave it at that. Now sign out of your OS X User Account, sign into your wife's OS X User Account and sign into the iTunes Store with her Apple ID (if necessary sign out of the account first).
Now, you can go back to your OS X User Account and attempt to enable iTunes Match. You will probably get the "wait 90 days" message. If so leave it, mark your calendar, and wait for the 90 days to expire. You can try contacting iTunes Store support at <https://expresslane.apple.com> if you wish, but I really do not know how useful that will be.
Incidentally, you get the message to pay for the service when trying to enable it on your wife's Apple ID because the service has not been purchased using that Apple ID. iTunes Match is designed to be a single-user service that is never signed out of and is associated with one, and only one, Apple ID and a regional store.

The apps are tied to the account from which they were purchased. If the apps were purchased from the previous owners account, then they would have to be updated from that account. you should not have these apps anyway. You need to buy your own.
Read the manual. it will tell you how to sign into your account to buy apps.

ITunes user name cannot be used to unblock this phone

hello,
i have recently emigrated to Australia but before I moved out here I was on 02 in the Uk. I asked 02 to unblock my phone which they did and I put a giff gaff sim card in (uk network) and it worked so then took it out of my iphone 5 and put the 02 one back in. Today I have got a sim card from Australia (Vodafone) and have tried to use that sim. When I put the sim in the phone it says
(itunes user name) cannot be used to unblock this phone
it won't let me process any further. I am at a loss as to what to do now? I haven't got the phone on iCloud and have tried everything? I have had the phone from brand new and never changed itunes user name etc. it's weird how the phone is unlocked on giff gaff and I have put that SIM card in and that still works but it doesn't let me use the Vodafone sim. Am I missing something here? Any help would be great. Even the people in the Vodafone shop were at a total loss.

Yes, I do have multiple devices and it appeared to me that every time I tried to sync or log onto iTunes, the password was incorrect. Consequently, I was and am constantly changing it. Wouldn't it be nice if Apple would simply say that you only need one Apple ID and one password regardless of the number of Apple devices you intend to sync via iTunes.
Barring the above, how about a way to merge all of the Apple IDs and passwords into one.

Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

If you still receive a "case closed" message with no further explanation, or have tried that form with no useful result, try resubmitting and explaining the problem in a different way. They may just not be understanding your issue. Of course you will want to be polite; if you just rant, they may well just trashcan your issue.
If you continue to have problems, you can try calling the Apple Support line and asking for Customer Relations. They may be able to help you get a resolution.

Why when I change itunes file name does it not change the info in the folder?

So you download music it has it's info in the folders if you click in the order of music- artist- album - then it displays the file
Q1, if you edit the iTunes name of the file (through iTunes) why does it leave the folder name the same??
Q2, How can you make what displays in your iTunes library (worded wise) display like that in your windows folders without going through each file 1 by 1 twice?

Check your setting under Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Keep iTunes Media folder organized.

Why do I get "Unknown user name or bad password" on Windows 7 when trying to connect to an SMB share on my Mac?

Before installing the update to 10.7.3 I could connect to an SMB share on my Mac from Windows 7 but I can't any longer. When I try I get the error "Unknown user name or bad password" on the Windows 7 system.
When I try to connect using the "net use..." command I get the error: "System error 86 has occurred".
Does anyone know how to resolve this? What really confuses me is that it was working fine until I installed the update to 10.7.3.

Check the Wins Tab in the Advanced section of Network in system preferences.
If you don't have the same workgroup name and the correct NetBIOS name showing up in the WINS tab you will get the Bad username or password.
I know I deal with this everyday.
There is something wrong with Lion and it does not automatically fill in those entries in the WINS tab.
What I have to do on every reboot/startup is open System preferences go to Sharing and uncheck File Sharing then recheck it. That will fill in the WINS tab entries.

Storing iTunes user names on AppleTV

I have an AppleTV that I share with my friends. Since multiple people use it each person uses the own account to rent movies. I find it to be a real hassle when I go to rent a movie and realize my roomate had used the ATV last. I then have to go back into the setup menu and enter my username and password every time I want to login. Is there a way to store multiple user accounts so I don't have to logout of someone else's account and then log back in on my account? I would be nice to have an option where I can pick which user account I want to use and then just enter a password. There have been times where I was to annoyed with entering my info all the time that I would just order Pay Per View off the TV.

Anyone know if you can replace your .me email address for your regular email address? I'm trying to set up my iCloud acct. on my iPhone but the default email adddress is my .me email which I never used and do not know the password for. When I use the Forgot Password link, it sends to my .me email address

I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places. I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file. There must be something else that's missing. My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive. If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess. I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={ Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period. I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive. Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me). As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

Unable to connect ipod to icloud says "invalid user name or password"

I have sucsesfully migrated my mobile me to icloud and updated my ipod and mac book pro as well as itunes on my pc, i hvae installed icloud control panel with not problem signing in on either my mac or pc, but when i try to do icloud setup on my ipod it says invalid username or password. is anyone else having this problem? does anyone know if it can be fixed?
