my i phone is telling me I need to do a restore. Screen shows itunes logo and thats it, even after turning off and on again.
if do this how can I avoid losing all my pictures videos etc?Pictures/Videos in your camera roll? If so, & not backed up or imported to your computer, they are gone. There's no supported way to recover them now.

You are in Recovery Mode. Follow the instructions below to recover your iPad.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
5. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad. Data will be lost. -
I am trying to update to ios 8 but after downloading a message is come up on the screen when trying to reboot. here is the message. an itune icon with itunes written under the icon then a charger sighn pointing an arrow towards the itune icon it will not reboot
That image means that it's gone into recovery mode - you will need to connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes (you will need the current version of iTunes installed on your computer)and you should be able to use that to reset your iPad back to factory defaults, you can then restore/resync your content to it.

does this mean i will lose all my photos if i click on continue ?It means that you have already lost all the info that was on the phone. If you backup regularly you can restore from that backup. If you do not backup regularly your data is gone.

Hey, as far as I know you need a sim card to activate after a restore
It however does not have to be a fully working sim card, just not blocked or with a pass code, I repair/refurb. some iPhones and can only advise to try and get a free sim card from a provider supported on your phone and activate it with this, or maybe someone can lend you theirs for 5 mins?
To clarify, I have heard there are ways around this, but they sound dubious. -

Everytime I want to remote my itunes from my iphone, itunes search for radio-stream updates. I often use remote when I'm not connected to Internet so itunes tell me that I should connect because the radio-stream update can't be made. This is new since 10.5. Can I turn off the search for Radio-Stream or does someone else has an Idea how to fix the problem?
weird very weird. today i did this again today after already being unsuccessful earlier. exactly the same thing as i have done before, exactly. didn't try to import. didn't say damaged library, copied everything in including date. have tried it about 10 times no luck. today it just worked.
how weird is that?
