Why if using a composition widget as a dropdown target links fade if they extend over a text area

I am working on a site using the composition widget for a drop down menu. I find that if the target links extend over a text area, they fade out before one can click the link and while this can be overcome for desktop and tablet layouts, it cannot for phone layouts. The link below shows the issue. Any suggestions?

  • How can I change the order of thumbnails so it affects the order in the lightbox when using the composition widget - lightbox display?

Hi, I'm making my portfolio in Muse, and I'm using the composition widget - lightbox display. I imported all the images and then I wanted to reorganize the thumbnails - and when I do that, the order in the lightbox doesn't change and so it's not the same as the order of the thumbnails (after rearranging them). Please let me know if there is a way to fix this quickly, or do I have to do it all one more time

The order the items display in a composition widget is the front to back order of the items. You can rearrange the stacking order of the thumbnails/triggers using the Layers panel and/or the Object > Bring To Front, Send To Back, etc. menu items to adjust the order they're displayed during auto play or when clicking the next/previous buttons.

  • Slideshow Widget and Composition Widget Synchronizing Problem

I have a slideshow with images and composition widget of text that corresponds with each slide. The settings are the same for both, works fine on desktop yet on the tablet and iphone versions, they are messed up.
    Here's the BC site: dezinegirl
I have been waiting for Customer Care via Chat to figure it out looking at my files, but it's been an HOUR and I don't think he knows.
    Anyone else have this issue?
BTW: I am working with a purchased template.
    Thanks!

    Hi Pam,
Instead of using the slideshow widget in sync with the composition widget, I will suggest that you switch to using one composition widget. Slideshow widgets does not allow text frame but composition widgets allows images as well as text frames. So you can allocate individual text frames to each target and that should give you the effect that you are looking for with no sync issues.
Let me know if you need more clarifications on this.

  • Composition widget for a church bulletin

i am trying to make a bulletin page for a church website that needs to be updated each week with new information, I used th composition widget for the first one and it worked fine, but when I tried copying it and changing the info it wouldn't work properly.  I want to somehow save the format, or the composition itself and just update each week.  Is there a way to do that?  Is there a way to make a Master page with the widget that is updatable?

    Hi Stephanie,
If you are working on a page and testing few things on it and do not want to include that page in the exported output, then you can do so by right clicking that page in Plan view and uncheck Export.

  • Problems with sound when I embed multiple videos on auto play into a composition widget.

I am having problems with the sound when I embed multiple videos on autoplay into a composition widget in Muse. It sounds as if they are all playing at once. Note that within the compostion widget, options - the auto play is disabeled.
I've a television set that has buttons below and I want the users to flick through the channels.
I need the oriantaion to be stacked as they're contained within a frame (the tv). I have tried the lightbox view (which at first seamed to solve the problem), but unfortunately the position, orientation moves when shown on different divises. It Had to be quite precise as I was ovelaying the original frame within the light box.
Could you please help me with this?
Also, I wanted to let you know that I think this software is amazing. Great job!

    Hi Alban,
I see what you are seeing. Could you send your file so I can investigate more? Send it to [email protected], with a link to this thread in the message body. If the file is >20mb, our email system cannot handle it so use a service like Adobe SendNow.

  • Why can't I reduce the height of my container box in the Lightbox Display composition widget?

I'm using the Lightbox Display composition widget, I would like to place my trigger at the bottom of my lightbox, I've reduced the height of my image frame but the container box cannot be reduced accordingly. I need to reduce the height of the container box or my triggers will be hidden behind the box. Please advice, thank you.

    Hi,
When you insert the light box display, by default it has 3 slides with different components like trigger, container, target, image frame, text box, next button, preview button. You have to change the dimensions for all components for these default 3 images one by one.
Or you can delete 2 of the triggers (that will resul in deleting all of their components from the widget), then you are left with only one image and its components. Later, you can add more images to lightbox display.
Resize the components as per following video:
    http://gauravr183.businesscatalyst.com/images/2013-09-26_1440.swf
The steps are, after you have added the widget on the page:
    Delete the triggers.
Then select Image frame, resize it. Move close button near it (the 'X' button), resize the text box, resize next and previous buttons and move all of these near the image frame.
Then click on the image frame, till you get "Target" area selected, resize target area and container will be resized automatically.

  • Got an Error Message using the Featured News Composition Widget regarding the locations are too large to rasterize.  Cannot Preview page.

I keep getting an Error Message when Previewing a page that has the Feature News Composition Widget.  The Message says that the locations are too large to Rasterize and I need to make it smaller in size.  I tried all of this burt nothing worked.

    Hi Zak,
Many thanks for your 'correct' and prompt answer.  I tried to make it CORRECT on the Forum, but after clicking the link, did not know where to go since this is my first time using this forum.
As it turned out, I was indeed using the font (Georgia) but did not realize that this particular font can also be used as a System font as well.  So I chose the wrong Georgia font which was the System font.  I corrected this issue throughout and made doubly sure that I used the Web Font Georgia.
Many thanks again for your help and assistance.

  • Composition Widget: Why won't my triggers sit atop my content box?

I made a slideshow with the Composition widget. I want to move my triggers to sit on the main content window, in front of the photo content. But when I move them, the triggers will only sit behind the content window, not in front of it. What am I doing wrong? Object--> Bring to Front does nothing. Thanks-

    Hi
You can use slideshow widget for this, as because with composition we can place the trigger but only to its corresponding target container.
We cannot insert all triggers inside every target container, slideshow is the best option for this as you can place the thumbnails over slide images.
    Thanks,

  • Using the Blank Composition Widget

    Hey guys,
I'd like to know if it's possible (and how) to configure the Blank Composition Widget to show only the new blog posts, let's say five that would update automatically as I would add more to the BC Blog, without the need to go into Muse and constant updating.
    Thank U so much.
The one who answers this will be a lifesafer

    Hi im8,
You can refer to the following link for a jam session, its on integrating a blog from BC. http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-advanced-cms-integration/

  • Bring Composition widget to the base of footer on a master page?

I'm having difficulties getting the composition widget to meet flush with the bottom of the footer on a master page. I have the footer check box ticked for the widget and all looks okay in the design window. But once I publish or preview the site the composition is pushed above the other elements on the footer.
    < design window
    < preview window
Can anyone shed some light on why Muse is doing this and any way to possibly fix it so the composition sits evenly at the base of the page?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi
Please group the objects you are using as footer and then check footer from control strip.
    Thanks,

  • Odd behavior when using custom Composite/CompositeContext and antialiasing

    Hi,
I created a custom Composite/CompositeContext class and when I use it with antialiasing it causes a black bar to appear. I seems it has nothing to do with the compose() code but just that fact that I set my own Composite object. The submitted code will show you what I mean. There are 3 check boxes 1) allows to use the custom Composite object, 2) allows to ignore the compose() code in the CompositeContext and 3) toggles the antialiasing flag in the rendering hints. When the antialiasing flag is set and the Composite object is used the bar appears regardless of if the compose() method is executed or not. If the Composite object is not used the bar goes away.
The Composite/CompositeContext class performs clipping and gradient paint using a Ellipse2D.Float instance.
    a) When the Composite is not used the code does a rectangular fill.
    b) When the Composite is used it should clip the rectangular fill to only the inside of a circle and do a gradient merge of background color and current color.
    c) If the compose() method is ignored then only the background is painted.
    d) When antialiasing is turned on the black bar appears, i) if you ignore the compose() method it remains, ii) if you do not use the Composite object the bar disappears (???)
NOTE: the compose method's code is only for illustration purposes, I know that AlphaComposite, clipping and/or Gradient paint can be used to do what the example does. What I am trying to find out is why the fact of simply using my Composite object with antialiasing will cause the odd behavior.  Been trying to figure it out but haven't, any help is appreciated.
    Thx.

  • How can I change fullscreen background color, so that it is the same when viewing on mac and iPad? I want this to be able to use MathType in widget text.

How can I change fullscreen background color, so that it is the same when viewing on mac and iPad? I want this to be able to use MathType in widget text.
As an example, html widget has white background on iPad, and black on mac. The same goes for interactive widget.
The MathType text inserted is inserted as a image, and will have the same color when in fullscreen as when not. So I need the textcolor to be the same in both views. Anyone know how to fix this?

We're still not communicating. This is why I wanted an example .iba.
Here's a re-creation of my own, going off what you described. You said "all html widgets and all gallery widgets" have this problem. So I inserted a blank HTML widget and a blank Gallery widget, and typed into both. Inserted a MathType equation into both. I don't see any difference when I preview it on my Mac compared to the preview on the iPad. I want to help, but I can't help if I can't duplicate the issue.
I've attached the screen shots and the .iba file [link to .iba file].
Feel free to email me directly at bobm at dessci dot com. If you're uncomfortable giving some information here, tell me anything you want in email. I work for the "MathType company", Design Science.

  • Is it possible to make an  animated drop down menu  and still use  the menu widget?

Hi- I am trying to create a menu bar that is hidden with just a tab exposed  to indicate that there is a menu  there. Upon  rollover,  the full menu bar slides down and reveals the menu items.  I can't find a way to make it smoothly  slide down so I settled for the Photoshop button and just moved the button position in Photoshop to fake it.    The problem is  now I need to find a way to still use the menu widget along with this.  if that can't be done,  can I use the Photoshop button and populate the menu there and abandon the menu widget?
Someone suggested using  Edge Animate ( why the hell is this a separate  software from Muse?)  to make the animation.  If that's a possibility,  can the menu widget be used with the Edge file that's imported?  please help me get to where I need to go  however it needs to happen!  Thanks in  advance.
Here's a link to a screenshot of my menu: http://www.groovindj.com/menu.jpg

Ok, thanks! I have another way to do what I'm trying to do, I just thought it might be better to do it this way. Obviously I was wrong!
    Thanks again!

  • Can I add a new trigger to the beginning instead of at the end of a blank composition widget?

    Hi guys,
I am creating a photo gallery page using the Blank Composition widget. I want to be able to add new content regularly by adding new photos to the top (beginning) of the gallery so my newest photos show at the beggining of the gallery.
Currently, the little + symbol to add another trigger only adds a new trigger to the right (bottom) of group of triggers, effectively putting newly added content to the back of the gallery instead of at the front. Am I able to get it to add a new trigger to the beginning of the group and have that trigger be the first in the group to display?
All the widget's seem to display this same order behaviour, so I'm quite stuck on how to get around this. I've tried re-arranging the triggers, but that has become insanely cumbersome every time I want to add new photos to the beginning of the group and move the older ones further down the gallery order.
Any help would be greatly appreciated with this, cheers, David.

    OK
    I'm a newbie.
I have the same problem. I've looked at some recommended 3rd party widgets and they don't do what I want either.
Another method would be to start a nabble.com blog and embed that in to Muse, but then the news would not be seen by web crawlers and benefit your ranking on your own page. (I think)
This is a rubbish work around but, I'm going to add a new news widget every month. I only get 5-6 bits of news a month, so by adding a new widget above the last each time, that will push the old news down the page.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Issue with Anchor Links in Composition Widget

Hoping for some help regarding anchor links. I was successful in nesting a Slideshow widget within a Composition widget. The Composition widget contains six panels, each of which contains one Slideshow. Thankfully, that all works as it’s supposed to.
What I want is to direct users (from another page on my site) to a specific Slideshow within the Composition widget (i.e., for example, to the slideshow on the third panel of the Composition). The anchor link does work in that it directs users to the page with the Slideshow/Composition combo. However, it displays the first panel in the Composition and not the third. I’ve tried inserting the anchor link on top of the actual picture in the Slideshow, and also within one of its text labels. Still the same result.
My question … can an anchor link be used to direct someone to a specific panel within the Composition widget? Perhaps I can export my site to HTML, open the .html file in Dreamweaver and … I don’t know, move or rename the anchor somehow? Is anyone else having this issue?

This is a bit late in the day looking at the date of your post, but I asked the same question recently and Brad Lawryk answered (thanks Brad - saved me hours of fiddling!):
Unfortunately the only way to do this now would be to save a copy of the page with the desired tab focused. Unfortunately this does cause duplicate content and is not SEO friendly though.
