Why is Bridge UI pixelated on MacBook Pro?

I have MacBook Pro with retina screen, and the Bridge UI is pixelated. When I checked the app with Get Info, I noticed that there is a box checked called 'Open in Low Resolution', but I can not uncheck it - it is greyed out. I assume this has something to do with the issue?
All my Adobe applications are up to date according to Adobe Application Manager.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marsel

Ok - so I thought this was going to be an easy answer, but apparently it's not.
Anyone?
Thanks,
Marsel

The CPU's come from different Intel 'families'.  The older ones are 'Ivy Bridge' and the newer ones are 'Haswell'.  Numbers alone will not determine the efficiency of  CPU.

  • I loaded a lot of music from my CDs on to my iMac at home.  All my music is stored on the cloud.  So why is the music on my MacBook Pro different.  The CDs are missing from this list.

I loaded a lot of music from my CDs on to my iMac at home.  All my music is stored on the cloud.  So why is the music on my MacBook Pro different.  The CDs are missing from this list. The iTunes account details I use on both computers is the same.

    Hi Chris,
    Thanks for the reply.
I think you ave sorted my problem with your question.  I thought that as my iTunes account was on their server (Cloud) and I had previously added CDs which showed up, that all my music was "on the cloud".  I used to use Match but when I turned it off lost all my music that I had previously loaded onto my computer.
So I guess I have to use the cloud again to access my songs.  This is frustrating as I fly a lot and can not use the music (Cloud based) when the phone is in flight mode as there is no internet.
So how then do I retrieve all my music to my iMac and have my laptop synced so they are the same?
    I am totally confused now.

  • Why cant i upgrade my 17in macbook pro (s/w 10.6.8)to mavericks

why cant i upgrade my 17in macbook pro (s/w 10.6.8)to mavericks?  I do not know what month it was built.  I bought it as a refurbished by Apple a few months ago.

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) model number 7,1 or higher
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) model number 2,1 or higher
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
Xserve (Early 2009) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
    Application Compatibility
    Applications Compatibility (2)
    Do a backup before installing.
Your iMovie and iPhoto data should be good, but you will have to upgrade the applications.
If you decide the upgrade isn't worth it, you can share Mail, Calendars, and Contacts running Snow Leopard. Based on my experience, I don’t recommend syncing Contacts - created a lot of problems with duplicates. If you have 2 step verification enabled on your Apple ID, you will need to generate an application specific password for Mail, iCal, and Address Book. Apple ID - Manage
Snow Leopard iCloud - Address and iCal
    Snow Leopard iCloud –  iCal

  • Why there no more upgrade for MacBook Pro 17in ?

Why there no more upgrade for MacBook Pro 17in ?

The story I heard was that there wasn't enough volume of sales for Apple to expend the resources to develop the line further.  When the 17" MBP line only accounted for 2-3% of the sales, it wasn't enough to offset the expense to engineer it, stock it, support it, etc.  What they chose to do was to offer the retina display 15" MBP that supports the same resolution (and possibly higher) and at the same time reduce the number of models they have to support.

  • Dead pixel on MacBook Pro?

I'm getting really upset about this. I bought a 13" MacBook Pro w/ Retina about three or four months ago. Now I have dead pixels. The guiness at the Apple Store informed me that one or two dead pixels was within the quality control standards. He then proceeded to let me know that he could replace my screen, but there may or may not be more dead pixels on that screen and eventually they would cut me off because it meets Apple's "standards."
So I guess I actually have a few questions:
Is this a problem with all Mac displays? Or is this specific to the Retina display?
Should I get it fixed now, or wait for more and more pixels to die?
Are there any "at home" remedies? (Other than massaging the screen, because I already tried that)
I know Apple will replace products, but would they let me exchange it for a Pro without Retina if this is a retina specific problem?
This may all sound petty, but this computer was extremely expensive and I'm really not happy about this issue.

    1) All displays. Retina display is no different in terms of composition, it simply has a higher pixel density. It is still an LCD display. Perhaps the fact that more pixels are being crammed into the same surface area would raise the probability of a pixel failure. But, it would be safe to say, no.
    2) Now. This is an anomoly, not a major issue. There would be no advantage in my opinion to wait. See below for Apple's 'standards' regarding dead pixels.
    3) Not applicable / No. Apple's warranty only covers your model. There is no exchange program. They will service your display free of charge within the one year warranty period. During this period, you can opt at any time for an extended warranty (Applecare), which would extend hardware coverage for two subsequent years.
    4) Not petty, extremely legitimate. Expensive machine that should work as intended. This is why Apple's warranty coverage is more extensive than any other major CPU manufacturor. You are paying for a top of the line product, and the servicing needs to be commensurate with the price.

  • Why I am buying a new MacBook Pro now, but, first, any major issues?

With the delay of Ivy Bridge, and with my personal view that the next generation of MacBook Pro notebooks will be dropping FireWire 800 to service a better design, I have decided to purchase a new MacBook Pro now.
I just cannot imagine the new notebooks having a FireWire or Ethernet port, as they add too much thickness.
While I keep MacBook Pros for up to 4-years, I think this new purchase will have to be a transition computer, as the next model will probably be too irresitable. Having the option of then moving my data via Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt (Tarket Disk Mode) is very appealing too.
So, any issues with the current line?
Specifically, has anyone had a screen flicker issue or anything else major?
Would anyone dare say Thunderbolt is unreliable?
I really appreciate any thoughts on this - Thank you!

  • Dead Pixel on Macbook Pro 15' Retina

    Hey there Apple community,
Recently I purchased a 15' Retina Macbook pro for $2,500 (AU). I have owned this Macbook for approximately 4 months, with no issues what-so-ever.
Until, 2 days ago I was working on a project (I am stuying Graphic Design.) when I zoomed into a black area in photoshop, to discover a little green dot near the centre of my screen. At first, I believed it was a peice of fluff so I cleaned my whole screen. With no success I finally came to the conclusion it was a dead pixel. Over the two days it has became progressively worse.
Unfortunately, when I bought my Macbook I did not purchase Apple Care. So my question to you is, if I take my Macbook into an Apple store will I be able to get it fixed/replaced as it is a manufactuerer fault?
    Thanks for your time,
    Charles.

As others have stated you have a standard 1 year warranty and do not at this time need Applecare extended warranty to get your Mac fixed for free.
Also you can still buy the Applecare extended warranty. You have the full standard oine year warranty period to do that. IE Buy the Applecare extended warranty.
I suggest you do it sooner then later as it also extends the normal 90 day phone support to the full 3 year period of the standard and extended warranty coverage.

  • Dead pixels on Macbook Pro Retina Display and keyboard scratches.

Since the purchase of my Macbook Pro with Retina Displey 15" early February 2013 it has gained 5 dead pixels on the screen. If I take it to the Apple Store are they going to tell me it's my own fault and not help?
I also found a scratch on the <H> key on the keyboard, which has removed a little bit of the black coating, allowing the backlight to shine through. Does anyone know of a solution to this, or if apple are able to help? I have already tried writing over it in black sharpie pen, but it doesn't help.

Apple has some system they go by to determine how many dead pixels are 'acceptable' on a display - it's not your fault.
You may be able to get a replacement key from -> https://www.replacementlaptopkeys.com/. Since Apple will probably say it was caused by user damage, you'll have to pony up the $5 for the key.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 Pixelated on Macbook Pro Retina Display

    Hello!
I am a photography student who just bought a new macbook pro retina display. I use Photoshop a lot for my course so need help with this as quick as possible.
Everything on Photoshop seems to be pixelated which is not ideal right now. I also have an iMac which runs the same version of Photoshop and that is absolutely fine, never had a problem. My friend suggested downloading a trial version of the CC as this automatically sorted hers out but did not mine. Any suggestions at all will be SO helpful as I've researched into this problem and are yet to find an answer!

Very simple. The hiDPI Macintoshes and MacOS support for same were released after CS6 was released. Some of the CS6 applications got upgrades to support these hiDPI displays; others including InDesign did not get such upgrades until the CC 2013 version.
Sorry, but there is not anything you can do about this with CS5-vintage software.

  • Pixel Distorsion: MacBook Pro and 30" Cinema Display

Connecting the MacBook Pro to the Cinema Display using the Dual Link DVI Adapter (USB from Display plugged in Adapter, Adapter USB plugged in USB Port > not next to Mini-DVI Port) produced wild coloured Pixel Lines in the Dark Areas (really annoying) and starting After Effects CS4 it even gets worse: The full Interface is blinking green on the edges of each Panel.
    Pleeeaaaaase help!!

I have the same problem with my 30" HD display and the new 15" MBP. However, I did not have this problem initially. Until yesterday I had been fortunate not to experience issues (see reviews of the dual link adapter at the Apple store) regarding the 30" diplay. However, after contacting applecare about an unrelated issue, the technician had me restart holding the "shift" button. He said this would "correct a lot of stuff". Well it didn't seem to do anything except cause my 30" monitor to exhibit these same problems that everyone else is complaining about! Apple, please address this flaw!

    Hello everyone,
I RAM Previewed a few seconds of an AE CS6 project on a Desktop PC I recently had custom-built, and was distraught to discover it was twice as slow as previewing the exact clip on my Macbook Pro. The project involves simple 3D camera movements. Why might this be so, and can I tweak my PC settings to get more out of it?? I will greatly appreciate any feedback I can get...I'm still new to the Adobe world, and even newer to computer configuration. Thank you!

  • Pixelated/frozen MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010)

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) is about 3 years old and for some odd reason, the screen becomes pixelated and won't function properly. I read that it could possibly be a problem with something called Nvidia, or it could have something to do with my graphics card failing, meaning I'd have to replace the whole board. I'm not quite sure what to do or even what it could be. I gathered that information from searches both on google, yahoo and on these discussions. Here are some photos of what my screen looks like when it acts up:
    Thanks in advance
