Why is Compression so low?

We got a very low compression ratio in our database. What are the factors which will effect the compression ratio?

Hi Dave,
Looks like the dbstats are not in bytes. But when i see the database statistics in Admin services the block size is 281312 B which is 4 x 1 x 8791 x 8 as per the calcuation. The block size numbers from dbstats are
Declared block size = 5 x 2x 10904 = 109040
Actual block size = 4 x 1 x 8791 = 35164
So the block size is valid. Product and Department are very sparse dimensions. I didnt quite understand your statement "many of the db ratio statistics (incluuding compression) were recorded on the blocks in memory and not the db as a whole". Can you please explain what it means.

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).

are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

Why is the sound low on my Ipod? When I have my earbuds in I have to have the volume almost all the way up. I have the volume limit maxed out also. Same thing when I plug it into a boombox

Why does my Ipod play at a low volume? When I have my earbuds in I have to have it at almost full volume, and when I plug it into a boombox it doesn't play as loud as the radio or a cd. I have the volume limit turned all the way up in the settings also. All my songs on my Ipod were burned from cd's(if that helps) thanks.

Sorry, I have the same issue.
So far searching threads here is not coming up with anything.
I have set aside my restore discs, to start the process of ripping the drive clean.
I tried Omni Sweep, but all it did was confirm the space I counted up.
Still does not show what's hidding. 113GB worth on mine.
That software really boggs down the system.
I could not load an email with it running.

Better compression at lower bit rates

I've not had much luck getting good h.264 compression from AME at lower bit rates. Are there some secrets that someone has shared? I used to be quite adept back in the day, so it's frustrating having to upload giant files to Vimeo. Any good guidance?
I should be more specific. It seem like close to 5 Mbps is need for full HD, but I remember Flash expert Fabio getting great results in less than 1:

FPGA CRIO LabView - Why No Signal or Low signal?

I'm programming LabView 8.2/RealTime 8.2 on a CRIO-9002 equipt with a 9102 chassis. I have a some 4-20mA modules, +-10v modules and last but MOST IMPORTANTLY a 9233 +-5v module.
I've programmed the FPGA and realtime and have been able to acquire and scale appropriatly for all modules except the 9233. The 9233 is hooked up to a VibraMetrics 7002 accerlometer. (http://www.vibrametrics.com/downloads/specsheets/Model%207002.pdf)
When run and an acceleration is applied I only see very low voltage on my display. Why is my 9233 is being unresponsive?
Test run at 3.5 Gvms of acceleration: (please excuse the mess)
Once again, the power spectrum should not be showing levels so low.

Have you checked the signal level from the accelerometer with any other measurement devices to verify that the 9233 is measuring incorrectly? Is the voltage/current excitation for the accelerometer correct? I am assuming you are using the binary to nominal VI for converting the binary data to the real voltage. Make sure you are using the correct module type for the conversion.
I am attempting to use the binary to nominal VI on the values I see on your front panel, but things are not adding up. I used the 4th LSB Weight and Offset (656368 and -6548405)and the 4th 9233 unscaled Binary value (-7261) and converted it with the Binary to Nominal VI for the 9233 and got 0.00178252 for a nominal value while your VI appears to display 0.0067847. I'm not sure what you are doing different than me.
The low valued power spectrum makes sense because the analog input values are low. If we fix the analog input issue, the spectrum should take care of itself.
Without seeing your code or setup, these suggestions are obviously hypothetical. Your screenshots show the FPGA code ok, but we have no idea how you are handling data on the host side. In the future I would avoid embedding giant screen shots in your post, attachments are just fine. Embedded screen shots are more effective if they only contain a small snippet of code.

Volume. Why is it so low?

Why the volume of music in iTunes is so low in my iMac while other apps, including dvd player and other players are much more louder? Thanks

WOW... I'm new at the whole mac thing, but I'm not new to computers...
I'm glad I found someone who was asking about the same type of problem that I was having... and yes, sadly it's taken me months and this post to realize that the volumn on the slider on itunes was all the way down... At least my brother couldn't figure it out either... LOL

Why can't Verizon lower my bill more than $40 by changing plans? Do I need to drop service and find another carrier?

I went to Verizon last night to change my plan and the customer service rep was very rude and un helpful. I want to lower my bill and when he couldn't I told him I would have to look into another carrier and his response was okay you can do that but they won't have the coverage we do. Really??!!! That's all you can say to your customer who is about to drop your service??

customer service can only offer you what's available. They can't just willy nilly offer you discounts. I'm not sure why people don't get this. $40 a month is $500 a year. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Hi, I am really curios now, how did this guy's setup not get any top or best score compared to that of number 1 to 3 ?
What could go wrong ? His system is probably already the best. what i notice is just the ram 8gig vs 12gig and above. And probably the raid but vs ssd ?

You are correct about the “green” drives, due to their relatively slow random access speeds and their tendency to spin themselves down when they're idle for longer than a certain length of time. Some of the “green” drives are actually as fast in sequential transfers as most of the current 7200 RPM hard drives.
That $90 price difference between the i7-2600K and the i5-2500K equals a 20% to 25% difference in overall performance in CS5 (when both systems are properly tuned). That’s significant enough to justify spending the extra $90 to $100 for the i7-2600(K) over the i5-2500(K) for CS5, especially in terms of the total cost of the system's core components (which includes not only the CPU, but also the motherboard, RAM, GPU and system, work and storage drives - which when added all together less than 10% of the total cost of such an editing system is due to the price difference of the pricier i7-2600K CPU over the i5-2500K CPU). In other words, the <10% price difference of an entire system due just to the change in CPU is truly justified by the 20%~25% boost in performance. The two i5-2500s were ranked pretty low in the PPBM5 results list, largely because they were hobbled by too little RAM (only 4GB in each of those two systems), and also due to several miscellaneous issues (such as software configuration).

Why is the volume low?

I am importing my CD collection and I noticed that when I play any of my songs back that they are really low. I can hardly hear them without turning up the volume all the way on both the speakers and my MacBook Pro. When I higher the volume, the sound is clear, no water damage or anything. Also, my speakers work fine for YouTube, system sounds, etc. it's only my iTunes library that has a low volume.

Why is my volume low only in receiver?

My new 4s is incredible only except for the volume being ridiculously low in the receiver. Speaker and ring tone volumes are great and crystal clear but I can't hardly hear anything from the receiver.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.

Why is the volume lower with headphones?

When I am watching something or listening to something using headphones, I can hear it as long as I am at home . But if I am on a bus or plane, I just can't hear it - does anyone else have this issue? Without headphones it goes really loud, wich headphones, not even half as loud,

Get headphones that'll covers your ears completely (closed headphones) so that it isolate all external noise.

Sync it from your iTunes library. Synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

Why do I get low frame rate for games while charging?

I have a Lenovo g505s laptop , and when I play games while charging(plugged in) , the frame rates for every game drop to 15-20 fps. Is there any driver update that I require? Or any other solution to this problem?
