Why is job always slow in execution ?

can somebody tell what powershell commandlet "stop-scdwjob" exactly does. does it pause the execution of job at a module or uses check pointing of workflows so that execution is resumed always from the last step.
2ndly the environment of execution of workflows is very nice, but why are these jobs unnecessarily slow. Is it restricted at some CPU threshold or disk ? because i always notice these ETL jobs to continue to run for very long before completing. Even
though during the course the execution neither CPU or disk is high in utilization ????
Can somebody help shed light on this internals WF environment of Service Manager 2012 R2, please.

Why is this .vi slow ?

I use this rather uncomplicated .vi for an one hour continuously monitoring displayed digitized signals thru the GPIB output of my Tektronix DSA 602 ( Digitizing Signal Analyzer, sampling up to 2 Gs/Sec ).
If I tweak the Signal Analyzing Scope at its fastest, its own screen update rate is about 14 mS/screen update ( ~ 70 screens/Sec ).
However in LabView 7 - as per attached .vi - I get only 140 mS/screen ( ~ 7 screens / Sec ).
This is about according to what I see in LabView\Tools\Advanced\Profile .vi's.
I configured the ( Tektronix ) Instruments GPIB Interface at its maximum regular transfer rate, switching off the delaying bells & whistles.
Question : why is the execution speed of this .vi only 7 screens/S ( ~140 mS/screen update ) ?
The regular GPIB interface speed is 1 Mby/S ( in hi speed mode 7 Mby/S ).
The Instuments internal digitizing speed - for this test - is 6 mS/acq.
The Instuments screen update rate is abt 15 mS/update : 9 mS is needed - in this test - for processing after one digitizing acquisition.
II run my ATE sytems on a separate dedicated computer with 1024 Kby Ram, a 3 Ghz processor and 240 GBy/7 mS HDD's, Windows 2000 Prof, wit NTFS for short files and FAT32 for the long ones.
The hardware config can impossibly be the bottleneck.
I also use a recent PCI NI GPIB 488.2 Interface Board.
For this test I detached all other GPIB gear and cables, so no other GPIB device can slow down the Tektronix' transfer rate.
The transferred data - in this test - contain only 512 horizontal points er acquisition.
Thru the Tektronix Programmers Ref I calculated the number of tranferred bytes per acquisition/update at only 1034 bytes.
My HP(IB) System Bus Analyzer confirms this.
So, this is ultimate peanuts for the GPIB Bus.
In this test the data are fetched from the Instrument to the LabView GPIB interface on a sequential acquisition basis.
So, in this test I wanted to learn the execution speed of the .vi itself for one loop.
I deliberately did not let the Instrument send contiguous data to LabView ( in an auto indexed array for non real time display ).
What could be the reason for the slow .vi execution ?
Or is this not abnormal ?
Is LV's processing the bottleneck ?
If so, why does it take 140 mS to execute one loop with this hardware ?
This disappoints me.
Any explanation would be gratefully welcomed.

I have no experience with the reading of the waveform, but there are a few other thing that could contribute to the slowdown. Maybe you could do a few tests to see what helps (Some suggestions are more cosmetic in nature and probably won't make a big speed difference).
(1) Avoid overlapping controls, they slow down the redrawing of the front panel. Your counter is currently placed on top of the graph!
(2) Change the counter indicator to I32.
(3) Try to limit updating the graph to maybe a few times/second. Do you really need to graph it every iteration? (See attached code image). The human eye cannot see 70 screen updates/second!
(4) If possible, disable autoscaling for x and y.
(5) How often does the x-axis (offset, multiplier) actually change?
Maybe you can set these values using an attribute node only once whenever they change and just feed the plain data array to the waveform graph, avoiding the bundling.

Why does Bridge always sort images by rating instead of by date modified?
This drives me bonkers. Everytime I look for an image I've been working on, I go to Bridge and I'm always presented with the images sorted by rating instead of by date.
Then I click on the microscopic sized, extremely tiny arrow that allows one to choose 'sort by date modified' and I resort them to find the file I need. So that's always 3 extra clicks to find the image.
WHY can't Bridge sort images by date modified and STAY that way every time I come back?

I know I could just keep the recent files rated the highest, but still, I'm wondering if there's a way to make it work the way I'd like it to work?

WHY can't Bridge sort images by date modified and STAY that way every time I come back?
By default it does stay at the latest selected sort order so this could mean it is due to your install.
First of all try to reset the preferences for Bridge, hold down option key while restarting Bridge and choose reset preferences. This sets it all to default. First try if the problem is solved then set prefs again to your own custom wishes.
Also check and repair permissions for the OSX itself (Apple has disk utility in the utility folder for this job, and there are other 3th party applications)
And be sure to have the latest update for Bridge. (Bridge CS5 should be 4.0.5.11)
In addition to the method Tai Lao pointed you already to there is a third option, use right click mouse button in content window and the pop up menu has also the sort option at the bottom of the row

Why is iphoto always crashing

Normally all Apple software is nearly perfect, but Iphoto is always slow, crashing, in fact almost unworkable.
Why is Apple not fixing these problems?
Several versions suffer the same problem. Iphoto is the only application which is a problem on my macpro, all other applications are running smoothly.

Job queue slow vs cron

Oracle 9i on Linux
I setup a job queue that calls a function which updates a table.
The function runs instantly when called directly from pl/sql or when called from a cron.
However the connection stays active for 30+ seconds when called from job queue.
Why is job queue so slow in closing the connection compared to a cron job?
This job checks for long running queries and locks. The job is run every minute, so you can understand why 30 seconds is a concern. It finishes with barely enough time before it's supposed to run again and I don't want it reporting on itself as a problem.

Also, "Unresponsive Script" comes up with the option to cancel or continue--what is "Script" and "WHY"? I have Windows 7 and anE-Machines modem. Also, I am told often that my Anti-Virus is out-of-date even tho' I have it set to update daily at 11:00 pm and I am sure to have the computer ON from 11 to 12 PM each night. How do I fix this? I am a computer 'dummie' and don't understand all the terms and phrases used, but I try. Please help.

Unfortunately Firefox 6 is not as good as it should be.
I recommend you to use latest version of Firefox 3.6.x ,cause it's long release but fire fox 4 , 5 and 6 are short releases and not as good as they should be.

File dialog box slow down execution

Dear all,
I am using Labview 8.2.1 with Windows XP.
I have a program who's allow the user to select any file or folder thanks to File dialog box.
For a reason that i don't understand when this dialog box is displayed, other parrallel while loop time execution goes slow down.
Put on my LabView front panel File Path command without any code and press "Browse" file button as shown on joined picture_1 birng slow down execution of the while loop.
Does any body could explain why this problem appear ?
By switch off on LabView Tool parameter "Use native file dialogs" (picture_2). the problem disapear. Unfortunately this kind of old dialog box is not practical...
If any body have an idea it could help me.

When i Boot up, why is "Preview" always open ?

Hi, i know i dont need to do it, but when i shut down, i have been making sure that all the Programs i have been using are Shut Down, getting rid of the white dots in the Dock.
I know that Finder is always there and cannot be Shut Down, but i Shut Down "Preview" and it is always opened up again when i Start my Lap Top up again.
I guess it isnt that important to know, but why does PREVIEW always OPEN automatically when i Boot Up ?.

First off they are not even pop ups....your crap blocks everything and don't save user names &/or passwords when you have it checked. Also in your tutorials about solving this issue says it has the word "OPTION" .......no, it never says option to allow you to bypass it and etc. Only thing is says is "ALLOW" . That would be nice , but the problem is it will not allow it from then on. It only allows it right then and then you have to refresh...after that to open again it blocks it again.....HOW STUPID?!!!!!

Network Print Jobs Always Get Stuck in Queue

Hello,
I have, perhaps, the most frustrating problem on the planet. In my home network, I have a HP Color LaserJet 2600n connected to my main PC, with 2 other PC's on the network. All 3 run Windows 7. Printing from my main PC works fine, but if I try to print over the network, the print job always gets stuck in the queue. I can see it stuck in the queue on my main PC, but I can't do anything about it. I can't delete it, nothing. If I restart the spooler, then it magically prints and clears the queue, but it's annoying to have to do that all the time. I've reinstalled the drivers several times to no avail. Tips?

I have a similar problem, I have a directly connected 1300 and a network P3015. The 1300 is connected via USB, the 3015 is connected by RJ45 cable right to the router. Both printers have their print queues get stuck, but only from my HP Pavilion Elite HPE running HP-installed Windows 7. All the other machines in the office can use the 3015 printer perfectly well. One is an older Pavilion using XP-Pro, another is a Dell using XP-Pro and the third is a Lenovo laptop using Windows 7. All our toners are not refills (seems like a stupid suggestion that the toner cartridge could cause a queue to lock up). The problem is definitely between my machine and the HP printers. I have a Brother printer and a couple of Seiko/Epson printers that all work perfectly fine.

Why does Photoshop keep slowing down?

I've been using Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 for two years now, and for some reason it seems to have the problem of slowing down after using it for a while, so if I'm working on a project I have to keep closing it and reopening it to get it fast again. It's weird because it doesn't seem to matter how much stuff is on the canvas, it's just how much I've drawn and hit undo and erased or did anything, After like 5 minutes of straight work it just gets too slow for me to work in, like when I switch tools or change the color it takes a couple seconds to respond. So literally every couple minutes I have to restart Photoshop and open the same file.
What's really odd is that sometimes Photoshop will work perfectly fine and stay lightning fast for hours. Like, for the last couple of months it's been 100% fine, but since a few days ago it started to have this "slowing down" issue again. Every couple months it seems to decide to be perfectly fine or just really annoying. I didn't change anything in my computer.
It can't be my computers specs or my settings in Photoshop, but I will tell you all of that anyway.

RAM - 12GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz

There is no malware scanner running, in fact I have tried closing out all other applications and unnecessary processes to help improve performance. No luck.
Also, my post actually wasn't quite finished, but my internet shut off on me last night and I guess that just automatically posted whatever I had done before then. What's even better is that the forums won't allow me to edit it. What great features!
Anyway, here's the FULL spec sheet of my computer...

Storage - 1x 128GB SSD (OS installed on), 1x 750GB HDD, 1x 160GB HDD
I have the 64-bit version of Photoshop CS5.1 Extended, installed on the SSD. Here's the settings I have in the preferences:
Memory Usage - 100%
Scratch Disks - All 3, SSD 1st, 750GB HDD 2nd, 160GB HDD 3rd
History States - 100
Cache Levels - 8
Cache Tile Size - 1028K
I have fiddled with these settings and restarted Photoshop countless times. In the end it's the same exact result: Photoshop slows down after a few minutes of work and I have to restart it. I have about 50GB free on the SSD, 150GB free on the 750GB, and about 140GB free on the 160GB.
I don't understand why it gets so slow even when my RAM usage only makes it up to about 45%. Why doesn't it just utilize ALL of the memory like I told it to?
I've tried setting cache to 1, 2, and 4, same result. Cache tile size to all the different settings, same result. History states to an extremely low level like 10, same result. I just don't understand why Photoshop is doing this, especially because it decides to speed up on its own every couple of months...

i am in tokyo and i just want to get the English version of JRE and JDK. Why is it so difficult, I have been trying for the last 8 hours to find mirrors and other versions and installing all of them only to see they are all in Japanese and I don't know why. I checked my settings, my local language is German or English, i.e. not Japanese, and always I install it it's in Japanese and afterwards I get the compiler messages in Japanese and I don't understand them.
And then... why is it so difficult to make a comment at sun? i have been to ibm's page and google, you just fill out a form send it, it takes 5 secs, here it takes 20 minutes to find where you can ask a question, then some more to fill out the questionaire...

You probally ARE getting the english version. If you are using a japanese version of windows or an english version of windows with the locale setting set to Japan then all of the menus (including the installer) will be displayed in japanese. So it just seems like you are installing a japanese version.
To check your local in windows 2000 go to the control panel and then choose regional options. Then, select the general tab and change your locale to one of the English locales. Also, if you want to keep your locale setting set to Japan there are other workarounds. However, first try this.
