Why is Maps more precise than SDK apps? [iPhone]

I'm using Core Location Manager with best accuracy and get latitude and longitude. When I call Google Maps with the lat/long values I get a marker pretty close to where I really am.
If, however, I use the build in iPhone Maps application I get the PRECISE location, which is some hundred meters from what my own app yields.
I'm running on an iPhone 3G.
Does anybody know:
- Whether Maps uses internal APIs not available via the SDK?
- What is the appropriate way to "enforce" GPS over cell tower location resolving (CLManager)
- Any other hints re this issue

I have the same issue. My iTunes library and iPad mini both say they have 2215 songs but my iPhone 5s says it has 2225. All devices are set to sync entire iTunes music automatically. I do not understand how I have more songs on my iPhone than my entire iTunes library. Please help.

The OP was not comparing the BlackBook to the low end WhiteBook. His question specifically was aimed at the high end WhiteBook compared to the BlackBook. If you add the 160 GB drive to the Whitebook so the specs are the same the BlacBook still cost 125 dollars more. Hence your paying more for it being Black. In my opinion the Black is well worth it.
Check the link out you gave. All three come with one GB of RAM so your statement about more RAM was wrong. The only difference is the BlackBook has a 160 GB drive compared to the 120 GB drive in the high end WhiteBook.

In principle the access to an element is equally efficient in both cases. (There's some overhead because you have to do a method call in the ArrayList case). In the next version of Java there's a new concept call autoboxing. This means there's an implicit conversion taking place between primitive types and their corresponding wrapper class, say between int and Integer. This means you will be able to write your program AS IF you could store primitives in the standard collections.

You need to delete some item (apps, music, photos etc) from the iPod,.However, sometime files get corrupt. To determine that connect the iPod to your computer and click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes. How much storage is used by the "other" category. If over 1 1/2 GB that indicates corrupted files.
To get the "other" down to normal value you need to restore your iPod usually restoring from backup works but sometimes restoring to factory settings.new iPod is required./

Ovi maps - more bugs than a tramp's vest?

I cannot save a route as a Favourite in OviMaps, what is wrong?
I log in to OviMaps, I can access my Favourites.
I create a route, in this instance abroad, with 10 waypoints.
I select "save", it asks me to choose a collection, I do, it asks me to sign in... again? I do, End of story. The screen greys out a bit and that's it, no further response.
If I go back to Favourites I cannot get there anymore: the Favourites tab is blank although allegedly I'm still sign in.
Help me before I give up on Nokia after 10 years and go over to the Dark Side. Nokia is the only application I ever used with problems, and with Nokia software I notice the problems are continual - anything on Nokia maps performs either very poorly or not at all. Or am I alone in tthis? Even as a loyal Nokia customer I begin to doubt my sanity - was this software ever tested?

Why Yosemite used more ram than maverick?

How did you transfer the backup? It sounds like you may have transferred more or less than you should have, which is causing you problems now. Mountain Lion's memory requirements should be about the same as Lion's.
Note that your problems may or may not be RAM-related. Don't be too concerned about low free RAM... free RAM is wasted RAM, and low free RAM should not be a problem in and of itself. If you have low inactive RAM in addition to low free RAM, though, or if your page outs value in Activity Monitor is too high (10% or more of page ins), then it's probably RAM-related.
Still, you definitely should be able to run the same tasks on newer hardware in Mountain Lion just as well as you did in Lion, on the same amount of RAM. If that's not the case, something's wrong and some troubleshooting will be needed. You could try some of the tips in my Mac Performance Guide, though there may be some more specific steps you can take based on the answer to my initial question.

New cheaper Iphone with more technology than the old Iphone?

I've owned an Iphone since December, and I'm in love with it! There are a few things I've been waiting to have updated, such as, faster internet service and being able to receive multi-media messages. Now I see that there is a new Iphone being released for only $199 when I paid $499 for my 8G. My question is, does this phone that is so much cheaper compare to the old Iphone? And if it's coming with all of the features as the old Iphone, will the upgrade that is being released give the same exact features as the 3G?

The lower cost of the new iPhone is only happening because AT&T (and other carriers around the world) are subsidizing it, and in the process increasing monthly charges to recover the subsidy. In effect over the 2 year contract with AT&T for example, you'll pay marginally more for the new iPhone than you did for the old one!
Basically, the two models are the same. The new one has 3G capabilities, but 3G coverage in the US is very spotty at present and not increasing particularly fast, so a large proportion of people won't be able to take advantage of it. The new iPhone also has GPS capabilities which the original did not, and has somewhat better battery life. Otherwise, just about all the other improvements are in firmware, and the same firmware will be available to download and upgrade existing iPhones early in July.
If you don't need GPS and don't live in a major city where 3G coverage exists, you should be happy with your existing iPhone since not only will you be able to get the new firmware next month to add a lot of new features, but you'll also be paying less each month to use it - your data plan at present is $20 including 200 texts, while the new iPhone will be $30 for data with texting costs on top of that as well.

For example the app Modern Combat 4 says it should only be 1.58 GB on the appstore but when i go into settings>general>usage it says it takes up 2.0 GB.
Ive tried deleting the apps and then reinstalling them but they still take up so much more space.
This happens for multiple apps of mine. Some I have never even opened before.

Because you see the file size of the compuressed file. The file gets expanded when installed and that takes up more space. Also, data is kept in the app.

What "online customer assist" are you referring to? The only entity at Apple that could or would help you with this issue is Apple Developer Support. Is that who you contacted?
In any case, are you referring to the capacity of the iPad itself? If so, a 16GB will be fine for testing unless you have it loaded up with too much stuff for your app to load and run. If that's not what you meant, please clarify.

I noticed that fixed layout is more expensive than reflow and i do not understand why.
To my mind, the work is the same : modify css and some other pages (toc etc.)
so the price should be the same.

Fixed Layout EPUB with InDesign currently requires knowledge of custom plug-ins to precisely position objects on the page. You're not getting any help from InDesign. It can be quite time consuming.
Reflowable EPUB with InDesign CC can be mostly done by properly formatting the document with styles, by using the Articles panel, by customizing objects with Object Export Options, by mapping styles to tags, etc. Most of the work is done in InDesign and it requires less time.
I can say publicly that Douglas Waterfall, InDesign's software architect, has hinted that he is leading work on the Fixed Layout area and we may see big changes before long.

While other developers are offering much better apps like pinnacle studio for video, Cubasis and Auria for music production, apple has not showed much growth in terms of innovation. While there's nothing wrong with making an app like GarageBand where "anyone " can make a song, how about something for real musicians or an app not so basic as it get for video editing? After spending 0ver $700 on an ipad I'd be willing to spend more than $5 for a better video or audio app.

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Probably because you enabled photo stream on your iPad before you did on your phone. Photos are only maintained in photo stream for 30 days, although photos outside of this limit will remain on your device. If you enabled photo stream on your phone later, some of the photos were probably no longer in photo stream to sync to your phone.
To get them on your phone, import them to your computer and sync them to your phone, or use an app like PhotoSync to wirelessly transfer them to your phone.

Deggie is correct. The carriers originally wanted it so people wouldnt be downloading large files on their networks and causing congestion. Also look at is from a carrier perspective for protecting costumers. People could also complain if they went over their data plan that they should have received a warning about downloading large files. Rather than argue about updating/downloading apps, they have the warning now.
I am hoping down the road that carriers converse with Apple to lift those, we will see what happens. Rodgers has more influence on lifting that limit that normal costumers would.

Download everything on your computer in iTunes, then sync your iPod to iTunes.
You should be syncing (backing up) to iTunes and your photo app regurally, anyway.
