I just purchased an new itunes gift card today and it keeps saying the credit balance is out of date...why?

When i download an app its says Your credit balance is out of date.

i downloaded ios 5.1.1 earlier help please help ? i bouhgt a 15 pound itunes card and i downloaded the update after that ?

I think this has to do with having a gift card balance. When I did not have a gift card balance, I was able to use the "update all" button. When I used up my iTunes balance and it was back to $0, I was able to use the "update all" button again.

"credit balance is out of date"...BUT WONT REFRESH!!???

I got, and used, 2 iTunes gift cards. On the 2nd purchase, I exceeded the balance of credit I had, so i figured it would jsut charge my (checking) account as usual. Well, I was able to purchase and download the songs ok, but my balance is "stuck", at +$9.61......now when I try and make purchases, it wont let me, and gives me an error "your credit balance is out of date, press "OK" to refresh and try again".....BUT IT WONT WORK...
What now?

Log out and log back into iTunes. Don't simply quit iTunes and restart it.

Why has my iTunes gift card suddenly stopped working?

I received a £25 iTunes gift card for my birthday in November and I reddemed it on my iPod touch. I had purchased a film for £6 shortly after Christmas using it and then I decided to wait for the new Disney film Frozen to come out so that I could use the remaining money on it to buy it. However, when it came out at the end of March, I tried buying it but then I saw that the gift card had been taken off my account. Usually it showed that I still had it in the iTunes store at the 'Redeem' section but it didn't have any signs of ever being there. I tried re-redeeming it but it just said that that gift card had already been redeemed.
The only purchase since I reddemed at first was that film I mentioned earlier. I understand that gift cards only expire 2 years after they have been activated so I have no idea what has happened. It's a great pity to lose all the money that was still on it and I really wanted to get that film!
Could someone please help me understand what is going on and if I can still get it to work again???!!!!!

Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like the iMac is not recognizing an ethernet connection. What is it connecting to? I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

My itune gift card says it's not authorized. I've tried to redeem by typing in upper case letters and lower case letters. I've never had this problem before, what do I do so I can use this gift card?

I bought an itunes gift card yesterday and I have tried to redeem, but when I do I get a message the card has not been authorized. I have typed in typed in the code as seen mostly upper case and I have tried lower case also. Neither is working. I've never had this problem before. Should the store where I purchased it from done something to supposedly "activate" it. I'm at a loss. I do not have the store reciept a friend does, and I'm sure she desposed of it.

Yes, the retailer is supposed to activate the card. Otherwise they'd lose hundreds to shoplifting. What you normally should do is go back the retailer from whom you purchased the card and discuss the problem with them. They should either correctly activate the card or give you a new one. If they refuse to help, as some retailers do, or this was a gift so you cannot contact the retailer, go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

Why has my iTunes gift card balance disappeared from my account?

Received an iTunes gift card for Christmas. When I took pic of it with my camera, the balance showed up in my account for several days, then just suddenly disappeared. My account would not use the card when I tried to redeem it. What the heck happened? I can't get any response from Apple iTunes support on this. Very disappointing.

I can't use my iTunes gift card and I'm running out of ideas.

I have been trying to purchase an app from the App Store with an iTunes gift card. I have not used the gift card before. I have, however, activated it in the iTunes app. When I went to purchase the app, it went to the billing information screen. I wanted to touch Gift Card under Payment Type, but I wasn't given that option. So I simply touched None instead. I typed in the rest of my information and touched Done. It asked me if I still wanted to buy the app and I said yes. Then it prompted me to go to the Billing Information screen all over again! For whatever reason, the website won't let me contact Support because "This feature is not currently available in your country or region. Try again later." The problem is, I need to download this app ASAP. I'm getting flabbergasted. What do I have to do to get a stupid paid-for app around here?

This happens for some apps. If you have a computer try to buy on it. Otherwise you will have to enter a credit card or some from of billing.

You can't transfer gift card credits from one account to another. You'll have to sign in using the old account on your iPhone to use the credit balance. =)
