Why is my pluggable Navigation effecting the pre-existing Horizontal Combobox?

I've created a new nav scheme by copying the pre-existing "Horizontal Combobox" navType and view code (c#). I gave it a unique "GetID()," "GetName()," and GetScope() Like I'm suppose to. Due to the bug in my version of PT (5.0) I had to add it to the ActivitySpaces.xml file and not the CustomActivitySpaces.xml.
Anyway, the problem is that my scheme seems to show up if I've choose it or the pre-existing "Horizontal Combobox" scheme.
Anybody have any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Mr. Singh,
The deployer XML files only shipped with portal 5.0.1, and only on the CD; we've dropped them going forward and replaced them with scripts that rebuild the entire UI. On the 5.0.1 CD, the files you're looking for can be found on Disk 1, in the directory "UI Source Code"; they're called buildplugnav.xml and buildplugnav.net.xml. However, they only deploy to IIS and Tomcat, and don't handle a variety of conditions like redeploying to a live production portal.
The key is to compile your own code and put it into a JAR/DLL file which is then deployed within the portal WAR/webapp file. A simpler way to work would be to have your web app server look for both the war/webapp file and its contents in one place. To do this, edit the j_config.xml or n_config.xml files (depending on whether you're Java or .NET) and change the WebHome value to point to your local Plumtree install directory. Let's do a Java example (.NET would be remarkably similar):
<WebHomevalue="c:\\pthome\\ptportal\\5.0\\webapp\\portal.war"></WebHome>
(I've installed into a directory called c:\pthome; the default would be something like c:\Program Files\Plumtree). You'd also want to make sure your webapp server uses an XML file to point to the new WAR location, whether it's BEA, WebSphere, or Tomcat.
Then you can do the following:
1. Build your own JAR file with a pluggable navigation in it. Use "jar -cvf nameofjar.jar *.*" to jar up the class files of your pluggable nav.
2. Copy that JAR to your lib directory (in this case, c:\pthome\ptportal\5.0\lib\java)
3. Add or update that jar in your WAR file (I use WinZip and re-add the jars in lib\java)
4. Stop + restart your webapp server.
The idea is you should be in control of your own build process, because it may involve a source control system, ANT, Visual Studio .NET, an installer, or other tool.

  • HT5149 Will uninstalling and reinstalling fcpx effect my pre existing projects and events? That is to say, will it delete them?

Hey my FCP X has stopped working. It lasts about 30 seconds and then the beach ball comes up and it doesn't respond after that. It's pretty much unusable now. I was thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling it. Will that delete my existing projects and events or will they stay on my system?
    Thanks

This is my pet checklist for questions regarding FCP X performance - you may have already addressed some of the items but it's worth checking.
Check the spec of your Mac against the system requirements:
    http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/specs/
Check the spec of your graphics card. If it's listed here, it's not suitable:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664
Make sure you're using the latest version of the application - FCP X 10.0.3 runs very well on my 2009 MacPro 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB. I run it with Lion 10.7.3.
Check that you have at least 20% free space on your system drive.
If you have not already done so, move your Projects and Events to a fast (Firewire 800 or faster) external HD. Make sure the drive's formatted OS Extended (journalling's not required for video). You should always keep at least 20% free space on the Hard Drives that your Media, Projects and Events are on.
If you are getting crashes, there is some conflict on the OS. Create a new (admin) user account on your system. Do NOT import any of the settings etc from the old account - simply use FCP X from there - if it runs a lot better, there's a conflict and a clean install would be recommended - but remember, if you reinstall the system, and then use Migration Assistant (or anything else) to import all your old settings etc etc, you may well be importing the cause of the conflict in the first place.
Keep projects to 20 mins or less (about half that for Multicam). If you have a long project, work on short sections, make them into Compound Clips and then paste these into a final project for export.
If you ever experience dropped frames, I strongly recommend you use ProRes 422 Proxy - it edits and plays back like silk because the files are small but lightly compressed (not much packing and unpacking to do) - but remember to select 'Original or Optimised Media' (FCP X Preferences > Playback) just before you export your movie, otherwise it will be exported at low resolution.
If you have plenty of processor power, for the ultimate editing experience, create Optimised Media - most camera native files are highly compressed and need a great deal of processor power to play back - particularly if you add titles, filters or effects. ProRes 422 takes up much more hard drive space but is very lightly compressed. It edits and plays back superbly.
Hide Audio Waveforms at all times when you don't need them (both in Browser and Storyline / Timeline). They take up a lot of processor power. (Use the switch icon at the bottom-right of your timeline to select a format without waveforms if you don't need them at the moment, then switch back when you do).
Create folders in the Project and Events libraries and put any projects you are not working on currently, in those folders. This will help a lot. There's a great application for this, called Event Manager X - for the tiny cost it's an invaluable application.
    http://assistedediting.intelligentassistance.com/EventManagerX/
Unless you cannot edit and playback without it, turn off Background Rendering in Preferences (under Playback) - this will help general performance and you can always render when you need to by selecting the clip (or clips) and pressing Ctrl+R.
The biggest single improvement I saw in performance was when I upgraded the RAM from 8 GB to 16.

My iPod stopped playing music through the earpiece but works fine as a hard drive connected to the computer.
It's been like that for over 6 months, so today upon unhibernating the computer iTunes decides it doesn't recognize the iPod and syncs the current library thus deleting all my old songs. • How do I find the ports a pre existing program used in DAQ?

    Hi all,
I am setting up a laser displacement sensor and trying to utilize a pre existing program that was created by graduate students before me. There are 4 wires coming from the laser displacement sensor that need to be connected to the DAQ but we have no information telling us where these wires are supposed to attach to the DAQ in order to run the pre existing program correctly.
Is there any way that we could figure this out?
    Thank you for your help,
    mccutchen12c

    James,
Thank you for your help! Yes, we have looked at a couple different methods on how to tell if the information had been programmed by the previous grad students and we haven't had any success in finding that information. So I believe you are right in assuming its not documented.. We will do a better job of documenting for future grad students after us.
I have attached our code. Any insight you could give would be greatly appreciated!
We have an Acuity AR200-6 laser displacement sensor with green, yellow, black and a wire that isn't wrapped that all lead to the serial port in the back of the computer and ground. We then have white, blue, orange and brown wires that do not have a location.. We did some research and the are as follows:
    white: laser disable
    blue: buttons disable
    orange: voltage output
    brown: voltage RTN
We are starting to wonder if we are just not supposed to use the DAQ.. Can you confirm the connection is solely through a serial port?
    Cheers,

  • Adding a pre-existing podcast to iTunes U using the feed method.

While trying to add another pre-existing CSULB podcast to our CSULB on iTunes U (using the "feed" method), I encountered an error message that I don't know how to interpret.
Can you help me with this or is there somebody else at Apple I should work with?
The pre-existing podcast is at: http://www.ccpe.csulb.edu/citt/podcast/feed.aspx
    The error message reads:
"While attempting to download. . . iTunes U encountered an authorization error and could not update the content. Verity your authorization access to the feed specified in the feed URL field, including the user name and password permissions, and then try again."
I have no idea what this means. Can someone please help?

Is anyone using Podcast Producer 2 to publish content on iTunes U, and if so, does it work reasonably well (do you recommend using it)?
Its spiffy. I like it, but I'm a softie when it comes to Apple stuff.
Am I correct in thinking Podcast Producer 2 can only be used to create an RSS feed to point to podcasts stored in its Podcast Library or can you use Podcast Producer to upload files into our institutional iTunes U storage space (yes we are fortunate to have access to Apple's 500 GB storage space)?
You can choose to do either. Although I haven't seen anything official, I suspect that Apple prefers the use of Podcast Library…but that's just a preference, not any sort of recommendation or future direction. In the end, I suggest (and I think Apple would agree) that you do what makes the most sense for you. For example, we choose to do it both ways.
Can you provide a link to instructions (or explain how to either identify in iTunes U that the podcast is in Podcast Producer's Podcast Library as an RSS Feed or how to upload the podcast from Podcast Producer to a specific tab in a specific iTunes tab.
I believe someone (a friend from Apple…??) released a PcP workflow action that deals with iTunes U the same way as PcPv1 did. Overall, though, probably the best kept PcP secret is that Podcast Producer is a generalized workflow solution. Sure, it's cast as a podcasting solution…but if you can get OS X Server to do something, you can get Podcast Producer to turn it into a workflow…anything. Since OS X Server can be scripted to upload content to iTunes U, Podcast Producer can handle that too.
I appreciate any information given as I have tried with little success to find this information in either the iTunes U or Podcast Producer Admin guides.
    Thanks!!

  • Importing pre-existing source tree... how?

I am working with a group on some projects making heavy use of struts, ant, jUnit, xdoclet, and some other stuff. They have avoided tying their project to any one IDE.
I want to use JDeveloper, which I'm fairly new to, but when I try to import pre-existing source jdev rearranges everything in the project navigation window to suit its preferred source tree structure.
This doesn't work at all with this project.
Is there any way I can get jDeveloper to respect/display the pre-existing source tree structure? It looks a little something like this...
    /web
    /src
    /config
    /test
    /build
    /........etc....
We already have very complex ant scripts to handle everything, and it's hard to logically hunt down some of the files needed in a given situation without the tree.

  • Table.rows.find() returns null in a table where the row exists.

    Hi...
I am working in a Project in Visual Studio 2013 where I have to read an Excel report related with a list of business opportunities. Some of the Fields that are involved in it are:  Opportunity ID, BU, Account, close date, Account Manager,
Total Value and so on. As soon as I get the conection with the Excel Report, I fill a DataTable and declare the columns [Opportunity ID] and [BU] as my Primary Keys.  In that way, an Opportunity value may have one o more rows
with different BU code each of them.  In consequence, you can define one row in the table if you specify the [Opportunity ID] and the [BU] values.
My problem starts when I try to get information of those rows that have an specific value of [Opportunity ID]. For that situation I make a "foreach" structure where I check the BU codes that are involved with that Opportunity. So
I use the Find() Method to get the information of the row specified by the Opportunity ID and BU.  The first time it goes to find the information it gets the results successfully but in the next cycle changing just the [BU] using the same [Opportunity
ID] value, the find() method returns a "null" and I do not know why because I am sure that the row exists in the table.  I have verified the "Unique" property for the  [Opportunity ID] and [BU] columns (which are
my primary keys)  and they are in false which is OK.
I share the code that I am using...
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks.
    Alfmar.
void ObtenTotalesxBUs(string Opportunity, string[] BUs, Object[] TotalBUs, Object[] ExpTotalBUs)
ArrayList TotalesBUs = new ArrayList(); //Required information from the row.
ArrayList ExpTotalesBUs = new ArrayList(); //Required information from the row.
    foreach(string businessUnit in BUs)
Object[] LlaveBusqueda = { Opportunity, businessUnit }; //Provide values to the Primary Keys.
    DataRow RenglonInfo = null;
RenglonInfo = TablaFunnel.Tabla.Rows.Find(LlaveBusqueda); //Find method receives the Primary Keys values. Here is where I have a "null" in return the second time changing just the [BU] field.
TotalesBUs.Add(RenglonInfo["Total"]); //Get the required information from the row.
ExpTotalesBUs.Add(RenglonInfo["Expected Total Value"]); //Get the required information from the row.
    TotalBUs = TotalesBUs.ToArray();
    ExpTotalBUs = ExpTotalesBUs.ToArray();}

    Hi Viorel..
Thanks a lot for you help.
I am absolutely sure that the second ítem of BU is valid and exist in the table because I tried to make a "Select" statement in the table providing the values of [Opportunity ID] and [BU] and I get the expected record. So, why is not
working using Find() with the defined Primary Keys???
I tried this in order to test that the record exists...
    if(RenglonInfo == null)
    string strSelect = "[Opportunity ID] = '0000218256' AND [BU] = 'SFW'";
    RenglonInfo2 = TablaFunnel.Tabla.Select(strSelect);

  • Adding a single page to pre-existing website

I currently have a website running on Amazon S3 and want to add a page to the domain using Muse and do not want to replace the pre-existing website.
    Example:
    Current web address:
    subsite.mywebsite.com
    Desired address of Muse-created site:
    subsite.mywebsite.com/musesite.html
subsite.mywebsite.com does not need to be modified in any way—my clients just need to be able to access musesite.html via a link using my brand's domain. Can this be accomplished using BusinessCatalyst provided hosting? If so, how can I accomplish this?

    Hi Joseph,
You need to create the page in Muse and then export the html to a local folder on your computer and then upload the exported content on the root folder of your existing business catalyst site. You will not be able to use the web forms with this approach.
If you can host the site in a sub directory, then you can create the page in the Muse and then publish directly to a sub-directory on the root, this way you will be able to use the web forms.

  • Using airport time capsule to create an internet connected network from pre existing wifi network

i bought an airport time capsule for college. I bought it to create a network for my dorm room so that I could take the pre existing wifi from the school and make my own mini network that I can hook my other stuff up to. Problem is that I don't have an ethernet hook up in my room so the network would have to be created from a wifi network rather that a ethernet hook up. Is this still possible? Alternate suggestions? I am afraid of either the college network blocking users from communication with other devices via the wifi, or the fact that my printer would be on a huge network for all to screw with.

    Is this still possible?
NO, it won't work. Apple only works with apple.
    Alternate suggestions?
I am sure your college has rules about not running your own wifi networks.. but anyway.. that is up to you.. the Apple TC cannot turn off 2.4ghz which would be handy.. so the only way to do this following the rules is ethernet. You can run a full network standalone on ethernet. And still use wireless for internet.
If you want to use wireless standalone this is also possible but you need to connect a second wifi USB dongle your Mac so you can have two networks at once.. You can use an express to connect to the college wireless and bridge that to the TC by ethernet.. then use the TC to create your own network.. since you cannot turn off 2.4ghz I guess how long the College IT people take to track you down should be hours. If you could just use 5ghz it would probably be ok.

  • [Solved] Dual UEFI Booting Arch against pre-existing Ubuntu install

    Hi All,
I'm new to Arch Linux and have just managed to install it on my T530 Lenovo laptop along side a pre-existing Ubuntu installation.
However, although I did consult the dual boot posting and article here on the site beforehand, those articles seemed to be about installing Grub. Since I already have it up and working, I was nervous about deleting it and so potentially loosing my working Ubuntu installation.
I tried installing mounting my pre existing /boot/efi partition but the pre-existing vmlinuz-linux file (no doubt from my Ubuntu installation) prevented it from working. My solution was to create the boot folder on the same partition as my Arch installation.
I now have an installation that works (kind of) however, it appears each time I boot up, I have to edit the Grub entry for my Arch installation to update the UUID Grub points to to get it to load up Arch. I can't find where the actual file being loaded in Grub resides (the file that it appears generates this script, is itself built from a series of predefined variables).
I admit I am playing at the moment - I'm keen to get to grips with this distro and am up for considering all options including deleting and starting again to learn to get it set up correctly. My questions are:
How should I have done this so that my Arch linux distro was loaded via Grub called by the UEFI and had the same booting file structure as the already existing Ubuntu installation (using the BOOTLOADER partition and the /boot/efi folders on it)
How do I edit the Grub file for my Arch distro so it stays edited (no more retyping all the UUIDs each time I load it up
Is there a way to get to the installation I currently have to an the more ideal state
Details taken thanks to the bootrepair application are here:

I don't think there are any Ubuntu kernel images on your EFI system partition (they are in /boot, not /boot/efi).
If you want Arch to boot in an EFI system you should mount /boot (rather than /boot/efi) to the EFI system partition.
To do this, copy the /boot folder over to /dev/sda1 and add it to your /etc/fstab (in Arch):
    /dev/sda1 /boot vfat rw,relatime,discard,nodev,nosuid,noexec,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,errors=remount-ro 0 2
It's probably best to install & configure GRUB from Arch rather than Ubuntu because Arch mounts /boot to the ESP while all other distributions mount /boot/efi so the results may get confusing (ie, GRUB may create menu entries to boot Ubuntu with your Arch kernel and vice versa); also the Arch kernel image is booted read-write whereas most other kernel images are booted read-only.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB#UEFI_systems
I find the os-prober script can fail sometimes so this is probably your problem here.
Personally, I use gummiboot to boot my Debian system by copying the kernel image & initial ramdisk to the EFI system partition using these commands in Debian (this would also work in Ubuntu):
    # mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
    # cp /vmlinuz /initrd.img /mnt
Then I make a gummiboot menu entry; your Ubuntu entry would look like this:
    title Ubuntu
    linux /vmlinuz
    initrd /initrd.img
    options root=/dev/sda2 ro
Add any kernel parameters after "ro" and make an entry for Arch as well (you may also need to configure /boot/loader/loader.conf as per the ArchWiki page) & install gummiboot from Arch using:
    # gummiboot install
You can then create a post-install script at /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-gummiboot in your Ubuntu system to copy over the kernel image & initrd to the ESP whenever the kernel is updated:
    #!/bin/sh
    mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
    cp /vmlinuz /initrd.img /mnt/
    umount -R /mnt
    Make this executable:
    # chmod +x /etc/kernel/postinst.d/zz-update-gummiboot
This method will only work if you have /boot mounted to the EFI system partition (as outlined in the Beginner's Guide).

I don't see any TLS stuff in the crypto package either. Is there any way to accomplish what I need?

  • Why Does One See References to Adobe Encore in the PrE Forum?

Some forum subscribers have been puzzled at why Adobe Encore gets mentioned in the Premiere Elements Forum. There are some reasons, that many might not be immediately aware of, but first, let’s talk about what Adobe Encore is.
Adobe Encore is a full-featured, DVD-Video/BD (Blu-ray Disc) authoring application. Unfortunately, as of Premiere Pro CS 3, it is not longer available as a stand-alone product - it is only available bundled with Premiere Pro (CS 3 and later). Now for a little bit of history. Once Premiere Pro (1.0, 1.5 and 2.0) were sort of like Premiere Elements, in that they had limited DVD authoring features built right into the program. Like PrE, some of those features were semi-automatic, though not to the degree that PrE is. Up until PrPro CS 2, one had to buy Encore as a separate program, if they needed all of its features. With PrPro CS 2, a suite of video-production programs were bundled as “CS 2 Production Studio.” With that suite, one got Encore, along with some other Adobe programs, that are very useful for video-production, along with the Adobe NLE (Non Linear Editor) Premiere Pro, such as Adobe Illustrator (Vector Art program), Adobe Photoshop (Raster/pixel-based digital image manipulation program), Adobe After Effects (compositing and animation program), and Adobe Audition (Audio editing program). Even within that suite, Premiere Pro still had the limited authoring capabilities. Because of added features, that linked Premiere Pro to Encore more directly, Encore was changed enough, that it was taken off the market, and ONLY provided with Premiere Pro. With CS 3, Premiere Pro lost all authoring capabilities, as those were all relegated to Adobe Encore.
How does that affect Premiere Elements in any way? Well, Encore is based on the Sonic AuthorCore modules, which Adobe licenses from Sonic. Some of those are the same modules that exist in Sonic’s very expensive authoring application, Sonic Scenarist. In Encore, those Sonic modules are hidden behind what is termed an “abstraction layer,” and the user does not really see those - only the abstraction layer, that is thought of as Encore. Still, the heart and soul of Encore ARE those Sonic AuthorCore modules. They are what makes Encore run.
Premiere Elements shares some of those Sonic AuthorCore modules, though a smaller subset. In that regard, Premiere Elements and Encore are more like step-brothers, or at least first-cousins. Just like in Encore, one never sees the Sonic modules. as they are also hidden below an abstraction layer. In Premiere Elements, it goes beyond that, in that most of the authoring capabilities are semi-automatic. That ease of use, through the automation is a positive, on one hand, but the authoring functions end up being rather linear, and limited - still, for most users, that ease of use is a major attraction, in that they can author a DVD, or BD, easily and efficiently, with but a few steps and considerations. Here, Adobe Encore differs, though the two programs are closely related. In Encore, one gets many more features, and capabilities, but at the price of having to do everything by hand - almost zero automation at all. One gets additional power, but they must do all the work themselves. Not nearly so easy, as with Premiere Elements’ authoring.
Because of the common Sonic AuthorCore modules, there are instances where what works, or does not work in Encore, translates almost exactly to Premiere Elements. Many of the same problems and limitations can exist in both programs.
First, the biggest limitation is from the DVD-Video and BD specifications themselves. Both sets of specifications are extremely well-defined, and dictate specific requirements, if the DVD-Video/BD is to be 100% compliant, and play, as it should, on computers with DVD/BD software, or on appropriate set-top hardware players. Both Encore and Premiere Elements must deal with those specifications, and cannot deviate from them.
Next, because of the Sonic AuthorCore modules, that both programs share, there are some extra considerations, such as long file Paths, spaces in file names (common in most OS’s for a very long time now), some special characters in file names, that cause conflicts, etc.. Those often come into play more often with Encore, than with Premiere Elements, due to Elements’ semi-automation, and the fact that one is still working within the NLE, Premiere Elements, just in a different part of it. Because of some of those limitations, and concerns, one might see some Encore articles mentioned, or linked. As Adobe Encore has its own very active forum, much of that material has already been written there, so it’s easiest to just link to an Encore article, that has applications to Premiere Elements and its authoring capabilities.
Because the two programs have some major differences, regarding their features and capabilities, there are often requests to do more, regarding Menus, and navigation, in Premiere Elements. Because it is a simplified, more linear, and semi-automatic authoring application, it lacks much of the power, beyond simple DVD/BD authoring with a pretty limited form of navigation. When a user wishes to go beyond, they will require a different program. Encore is a possibility, BUT it is now only available WITH Premiere Pro (an expensive program, at about 7x the price of Premiere Elements), it’s not really viable, unless one also owns Premiere Pro. Another option is Sonic Scenarist, but since the full package is about US $ 50,000, and as it is designed for large commercial authoring studios, that is not really an option for most Premiere Elements owners. Next, there ARE other authoring applications, that ARE full-featured, and can offer that extra control, and navigation, such as the often-recommended Sony DVD Architect. At its base level, it is about US $39 for the download version. For even more power, Sony offers a “Pro” version, that is still quite inexpensive, especially compared to Sonic Scenarist, or Premiere Pro with Encore. When one needs to go beyond the rather limited authoring capabilities of Premiere Elements, the entry-level DVD Architect is a great value, and an excellent program. There are others available, but I see less written about them - still, with some research, a user might well find that they suit the needs, and for a much reduced price over Sonic Scenarist.
However, for most Premiere Elements users, the authoring capabilities built in, are all that they will require, and those will work for them in most cases. Most users will never need to go beyond those capabilities, and will likely benefit greatly from the provided semi-automation’s ease of use.

Will say the apps (games) that ask you to download another game to unlock something in there game is NOT using ads. They are all made by the same game company (or combination of companies) that are sharing data with each other and using their popularity of one game to promote their other games. It is not an ad service where somebody is getting paid for clicks but rather them getting more downloads for their products where they offer them for free and have advertising in them where they get paid for number of eyes viewing.
But with that said, this is a user to user forum, you are not talking to Apple here so nobody can fully answer you about "why".

  • Effect of leaving action on the Pre-booking end date

Consider a case ,the prebooking period of the Business Event type is 1 jan 2006 to 31 dec 2006.
Employee X,Y and Z have been prebooked for the above business event type.
But we put a leaving action for X for the date 30 Nov 2005 .(the leaving action was put in the system on 15 nov 2005)
For the employee y the leaving action is put for the date 31 jan 2006.(the leaving action is put in the system on 15 jan 2006)
and for the Employee Z the leaving action is put for the date 28Feb 2006 .(the leaving action is put in the system on 1 March 2006)
What will be the effect on the Pre-booking dates.
    Kindly let us know .

    Dominique,
Thank you for the detailed problem description. Although you posted it some ten hours ago I have just now finished reading it.
Form pages must be built so they can operate correctly when inline validation errors are displayed. The assumption (by the engine) is that session state (and package state) as it exists at the point the validations are performed is sufficient (and correct) to support the redisplay of the page without the need to fire on-load processes or computations. Session state or package state changes made by after-submit computations or after-submit/before computations/validations processes that prevent correct page behavior on the "validation redisplay" must be avoided.
The condition types Inline Validation Errors Displayed/No Inline Validation Errors Displayed can be used for on-load events/controls (processes, computations, regions, items, ...) for which you need finer control over this behavior.
Also, you can forgo the use of after-submit computations when the resulting alteration of session state would be inimical to proper "validation redisplay" behavior and use On Submit - After Computations and Validations processes instead.
I hope I have understood your situation and that this answer adequately answers your questions.

  • When I sync my ipod to add new material, sometimes itunes will automatically rearrange the song order of my pre-existing albums by number of plays. Why does it do this? And is there a way to stop it?

When I add an album to itunes and subsequently to my ipod, everything is arranged by track number of the album. Sometimes when I sync in order to add new material to my ipod, itunes for some reason automatically rearranges some of my pre-existing material by songs with the greatest number of plays to least (though sometimes it seems to be completely random). When I check itunes on my computer, everything still appears to be in order but the way it appears on the device often is in the previously mentioned disorder. Why does it do this? Is there any setting that I can adjust to make it stop because the only way I've found so far is to delete the rearranged material and re-import the cd and then re-sync. It might sound picky, but I prefer that my music be in order by track number as the artists themselves intended for various reasons the foremost being that I often listen to whole albums from start to finish and this glitch makes such problematic. I have found some settings in preferences that focus on how material is arranged but this seemed to be focused on the actual folders where the music is located on my hard drive and not the way it appears on the ipod. If anyone knows the reason it does this or has suggestions on fixing it, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks.

Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs  will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store

  • Help! Why is the Pre's speaker ringing an incoming call when I have a headset on?

    Hi all,
I just had the most embarrassing thing happen to me today.
I was listening to some music on my Pre with the headset (that came with the Pre), and I received an incoming call.
I heard it ring and answered the call, no problem what I thought!
When I got off the phone, my co-worker complained that I had the volume on the Pre too loud. I looked at her and said WTF, I said you heard the phone ring. She said yes!
I then did a test, I exited the music playing, and opened the phone app and make a phone call out. So I made sure that the icon in the phone app showed that I was using the headset.
Then I ended that call, and used a land line and call myself on the Pre.
The Pre rang both in the headset and also the speaker the Pre?
Why is the Pre using the speaker when the phone rings if I'm using a headset?
Isn't the purpose of the headset to provide privacy and keep my neighbors from being disturbed?
I read about the switch turning off the ring but not the music, but this wasn't a case where I needed to use the switch, I had the headphones on.
Why is this happening, is this a bug ... or is there some sort of setting that I don't know about?
    Thanks!
    Rob
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece.
