How do I find the ports a pre existing program used in DAQ?

Hi all,
I am setting up a laser displacement sensor and trying to utilize a pre existing program that was created by graduate students before me. There are 4 wires coming from the laser displacement sensor that need to be connected to the DAQ but we have no information telling us where these wires are supposed to attach to the DAQ in order to run the pre existing program correctly.
Is there any way that we could figure this out?
Thank you for your help,
mccutchen12c

James,
Thank you for your help! Yes, we have looked at a couple different methods on how to tell if the information had been programmed by the previous grad students and we haven't had any success in finding that information. So I believe you are right in assuming its not documented.. We will do a better job of documenting for future grad students after us.
I have attached our code. Any insight you could give would be greatly appreciated!
We have an Acuity AR200-6 laser displacement sensor with green, yellow, black and a wire that isn't wrapped that all lead to the serial port in the back of the computer and ground. We then have white, blue, orange and brown wires that do not have a location.. We did some research and the are as follows:
white: laser disable
blue: buttons disable
orange: voltage output
brown: voltage RTN
We are starting to wonder if we are just not supposed to use the DAQ.. Can you confirm the connection is solely through a serial port?
Cheers,
Carley

    Hello James!
I do not have any ABAP Instance, only the JAVA one.
Therefore the ABAP transactions are quite useless.
The problem tables are created by people working on the CAF layer.
They have developed and deployed some homemade applications and this is leftovers from their development in some kind of way.
    Anyone with any ideas?
Could it be that (yet) some special Portal Dictionary Role needs to be asigned to the Administrator?

New computer: How do I find the serial number so I can use final cut?

On the assumption you want to install Final Cut Express (and not something from the app store), you find the serial number on on the documentation that came with the FCE disks. If you do not have the documentation, you are out of luck.

  • How do i find the port number for oracle10g

    Hi,
I have installed oracle10g on my pc running windows XP. I need to get the port number for JDBC drivers used by Java Application when defining a JDBC source.
Java is running on the same machine.
When I installed oracle I was given the links (with port numbers) for EM, ULTRA SEARCH and iSQLPLUS, what I need is the ORACLE10g database port number. Anybody know where I get from ?
    Cheers

thanks for the reply the portlist does not contain the port of oracle. The file is below.
[i]Ultra Search HTTP port number =5620
    Enterprise Manager Agent Port =
    iSQL*Plus HTTP port number =5560
Enterprise Manager Console HTTP Port (oracle10) = 5500
    Enterprise Manager Agent Port (oracle10) = 1830
However searching through some other threads found the port to be 1521, which
oracle must set during installation and tell anybody, unless this infor is in the log.
so configured the oracle JDBC driver as below (PE8.2 --> ConnectionPools)
    Datasource Classname = oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource
    URL = jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:oracle10
    User = abc
    Password = abc
    Now able to ping. Cheers

  • How do I find the port number on my Oracle install

Appreciate any help as a newbie.
Have installed Oracle successfuly on a home machine. Everything works fine except that sometimes I would like to access Oracle on the server machine from another machine using isqlplus.
    I have used http://<machine name>:7778/isqlplus. Have tried the following numbers:5550, 5121, 7779, 7780 etc - nothing works.
    Also turned off all firewalls.

    hi,
I believe that there is a file called portlist.ini which contains all ports used by oracle. Not entirely sure but other people will know for sure.

This web site leads you to the documentation.
In particular, chapters 2 and 3 of the SQL*Plus User's Guide and Reference give you the setup details.

  • How do I find the number of file descriptors in use by the system?

    Hey folks,
I am trying to figure out how many file descriptors my Leopard system has in use. On FreeBSD, this is exposed via sysctl at the OID kern.open_files (or something close to that, can't recall exactly what the name is). I do see that OS X has kern.maxfiles, which gives the maximum number of file descriptors the system can have open, but I don't see a sysctl that tells me how many of the 12288 descriptors the kernel thinks are in use.
There's lsof, but is that really the only way? And, I'm not even sure if I can just equate the number of lines from lsof to the number of in use descriptors. I don't think it's that easy (perhaps it is and I'm just over complicating things).
So, anyone know where this information is?
    Thanks for your time.

Can't think of anything other than lsof right now. However:
Only root can list all open files, all other users see only their own
    There is significant duplication, and
All types of file descriptor are listed, which you may not want, so you need to consider filtering.
As an example, the following will count all regular files opened by all users:
sudo lsof | awk '/REG/ { print $NF }' | sort -u | wc -lIf you run it without the sudo, you get just your own open files.

  • How do I find the Music Library I have been using ?

I have gone from the G 5 to a Mac Mini 2 GHz and all was well . That was before a balky fire wire Lacie Disk didn't show up and the cloned folder failed to produce playlists for 12,000 or so tunes . I would like to find that data for the iTunes preference choice in advanced . Any ideas ?

I am not fully comprehending what it is you are asking or your setup.  Okay, you have switched from using a G5 to a Mini.  Got that.  There's something here about a bad LaCie drive but it isn't clear what role it is playing, and if it has been replaced...  You want to find playlist data using the iTunes preferences choice.  I'm not saying your data isn't somewhere but you're not going to find it that way.  Your playlists are in the library.itl file or its sister file, library.xml.  Those are in your main iTunes folder wherever that happens to be.  If it was on the dead LaCie, look on yoru backup.  No backup, no library file, no playlists.  You need to start iTunes from that ibrary file by holding down the option key while starting iTunes, then guide it to the file you wish to use.

  • How do i find the IP address of my printer?

I have an HP 7130 all-in-one printer connected to a windows computer that is connected to a wireless router and modem. im using my macbook, which is also wireless to the same modem, and i am trying to set up a printer which requires the IP address of the printer it cannot find on its own. How do i find the IP address of the printer?
    Thanks!

    Hi Gavin,
Actually it was a typo fault on my behalf. Unfortunately the 7130 will not have an IP address as it doesn't have an Ethernet connection - just USB.
So, you are either going to have to connect the printer to the Windows computer and print from the Mac via the share or get some other hardware to share the printer. There are a number of wireless print servers on the market which allow you to connect your printer to its USB socket and then print wirelessly from your Windows and Mac computers. Or you could look at replacing the router with an Airport Extreme, which has a USB port for a printer.
If you want use what you have then connect the printer to the Windows computer and share it. Then on your Mac, open the Printer Setup Utility and click Add. Click More Printers and then Windows Printing > Network Neighborhood. You should see the Workgroup name set in the Windows computer appear. If it doesn't then wait several minutes and try again (sometimes it can take a while before Windows computers appear in this list). Once the workgroup name appears double click it and select the computer from the new menu. At this stage you may be prompted for a user name and password for the Windows computer. Input this information and then the printer share should appear. Select it and then browse for your printer model. Now there is a good chance that your model is not listed under the HP menu so you will have to use one of the provided drivers in the list and see which one works best for your printer. Once you have selected an appropriate model click Add. Now you should be able to print via wireless..

  • ITunes 11.0.1.12 is a total disaster, how do I find the previous version?

iTunes 11.0.1.12 is a total disaster.  How do I find the previous version?

You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar.
Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar.
Ctrl-/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the previous search behaviour.
You can also open the menu bar temporarily by pressing Alt.
To roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.
