Why is tail unix command not working properly on a mounted drive?
I mounted a remote drive on my mac, smb://some-windows-host/some-folder.
I thought I'd be able to do a 'tail -f' on a file on this mounted drive, but it seems the changes aren't coming through. What's wrong?
Do I have to enable someting?

Kind of late, but for anyone that sees this in the future.
It's possible that the process that is modifying your file is creating a new file with the same filename. The 'tail -f' command reads the file based on it's 'file descriptor'. When the file gets rewritten by the other process, then the file descriptor changes.
So to track a file by it's name instead of it's descriptor, you should use a capital 'F', like 'tail -F'.

I am writing a BDC to mass delete routing material assignments using transaction CA02. I am OK to navigate through the initial screen to go to the Header screen and from here I am OK to navigate to the Material Assignments screen. But once here, I cannot get the BDC_CURSOR command to take me into the list. Here are the commands I am using. Please let me know what I may try differently.

I had used SM35 to record. However, I was not aware of the "create program" feature. I had commented out a section from my previous post which I have now added back (latest code below). But it still did not resolve the issue.
When I execute with dismode = 'N', I get back error message "No batch input data for screen SAPLCZDI 1010".
When I execute with dismode = 'E' (only show dynpros when error), it stops at the material selection screen without placing my cursor in the list. I can then MANUALLY click to set the cursor position in the list, MANUALLY click the trashcan, it then uses my BDC command to respond to the popup asking "Do you want to delete", still leaving me at the material selection screen. I can then MANUALLY click the green check (or enter), then it continues with the BDC to go back to the previous screen, and saves. But it still will not place my cursor in the material selection list (SAPLCZDI screen 1010).
Here is code used. It is the second section of code labeled "CA02 Material Assignment - Delete" that is not working.

Why do some AVI formats not work properly with IMAQ?
I've been trying to do work with manipulating AVI files in Labeled, but it seems that mine will not work. Whenever I try to load them I get the error:
Error -1074396005 occurred at IMAQ AVI2 Close
Possible reason(s):
IMAQ Vision: Invalid AVI session.
What's strange is some AVI files will be read in fine. If anyone could explain why I'm seeing this error or how to convert my AVI files to the correct version I'd appreciate it. I've attached two files. The one labeled test will not work. The one labeled Balloon will.

Does my code work fine? I attache the vi as well. I modify my code that is very similar with yours, but it is working fine as well. I put here for your reference.
BTW, i can't open your code due to the PNG file without code. You can Save for Previous as 2010 Version, or Edit-->Create VI Snippet... save as png file with code.

Why does Google Toolbar not work with the newer versions of Firefox.
Google have stopped supporting Google Toolbar on the latest versions of Firefox. Apparently one of the reasons for this decision is that modern browsers already tend to support many of the functions that google toolbar provides.
Firefox does allow you to specifically bookmark sites you have chosen, and also automatically remembers many of the sites you visit.

Mac USB Keyboard Cntrl + F# commands not working properly
Hello folks,
I have a mac keyboard connected to my MBA through USB, the issue is that the control + F# shortkeys don't work properly.
E.g pressing ctrl + F3 should take me to the desktop ( the sliding movement of the windows ), but instead it switches between windows or something..
Even though it says in the system setting that pressing ctrl + F3 should take me there.
The keyboard in question is a Mac keyboard also. The commands works just fine when I click only the F# buttons on the MBA's keyboard.
Anyone has stumbled upon this previously or know any solution? You gotta love the Mac keycommands.

change the use all F1, F2 etc... keys as standard function keys setup.
Command + key usually works for control commands you are used to on Windows, when working with Mac OS X applications. -
Host command not working properly

I am using oracle forms 10.1.2.0.2.
In my form, I need to call a unix shell script.
{ Oracle forms will run on application server.
Unix will run in a development server.
(Both the servers are different)
From forms, if I click a button, it should call the unix shell script in a specified path.
Internally, the unix script will call oracle to generate a file.
In the file, some manipulations are done using unix.
After doing some manipulations, the file is stored in a specified path in the unix box. }
To achieve the above, I did the below things.
To execute a unix shell script from my oracle forms (10g),
1) the below configuration i added in the webutil.cfg file

Why setValueExpression method for inputText not working properly

JDev Ver : 11g 11.1.1.2.0
I have set value property of input text using setValueExpression method.
First time its working fine and setting value properly but when I set blank value using same setValueExpression method then input text automatically become read only.
I have not explicitly set read only true anywhere in my code.
For settting value I am using #{bindings.iProductName.inputValue} expression while resetting I am using #{''} value expression.
Is there any bug with this method or the I have done is wrong ?

You're doing something very wrong. If you want to reset the value, you reset the value, not modify the expression. So you need to call .setInputValue(null) on the ValueBinding. #{''} is a r-value, thus read-only.

CLIENT_HOST-Command not working properly

i am having trouble on starting a SQL-PLUS-Prompt with the WEBUTIL_HOST-Package.
I use the following code to start SQL-PLUS:
DECLARE
THE_COMMAND Varchar2(100);
BEGIN
THE_COMMAND := 'PLUS80.EXE scott/scott@database'
WEBUTIL_HOST.Blocking(THE_COMMAND);
END;
The Command-Window on the Client comes up, but i see nothing but the cursor blinking in the upper left corner.
If i change the Code to
THE_COMMAND := 'PLUS80W.EXE scott/scott@database'
the Window comes up. ** Confusing **
Has anyone managed to start the Commandline Version of SQL-PLUS by using the functionality of the WEBUTIL_HOST.Package ?

Why are my PalPal buttons not working properly after working fine for weeks?
I have not touched the site till I heard there was a problem today. The dropdowns are not showing up.

Sometimes if I hit refresh or republish the site, they show up again. then after testing to see if they work, they disappear again.
I just upgraded to the April 2 release to see if it helps and it did not.
I talked to paypal and tested the buttons on their testing website and they worked fine.
I did not use the widget in Muse to create...I cut and paste the code from paypal.com button creator.
Anyone else having the same issue?

Why does my mac keyboard not work properly and is to do with the extra RAM?
Like someone else who has posted on this forum I have a problem with my Apple Pro Keyboard (usb, white, english) The keyboard has developed a fault which has resulted in the tab, caps lock and some other keys near them refusing to work. The caps lock light illuminates at startup but thats about it.
I've run various checks, reset my logic board, unplugged all the cables I can and still nothing. I recently installed two 512mb memory things boosting the machine's memory to 1.5gb. I have since done a full zero install (which was after the fault occured) but the problem persisted.
Is the memory the cause of this issue or is it time to get a new keyboard? I tried to run the apple hardware cd that came with the machine but it refuses to show up on the desktop and I cannot boot from it.
Any help would be very VERY much appreciated.
Also...is there any way of contacting apple with this? The contact us section pretty much just points back to the support site which doesnt have a solution.nope that doesnt seem to be it. The caps lock light comes on at startup..so it seems it has the capability to work.
the keys which dont work seem to be:
caps
tab
escape
the squiggly thing next to left shift
and the key next to one

I am trying to figure out why my Apple ID is not working properly.
So at first i was trying to install some new apps from the app store on my iphone 4. And a message box kept popping up saying i needed to "agree to itunes terms of use" and so i would click on it so that i could agree and there was a little box that said "send to email" so i tried clicking on it and nothing would pop up, it was as if it wasnt even a button. So i tried scrolling all the way to page 52 and there was no button that said "agree" or anything like that. So just now i created a new apple ID and i deleted my old icould account and then i signed in the apple store with my new apple ID and password. So then i proceeded to install an app from the itunes store so i typed in my new ID and password and then a little message box popped up saying "This Apple ID has not yet been used in the Itunes store" so i click "review" and it says to choose my country and click next so i click United States and i scroll down but theres no "next" button. like its just blank.

If you select each individual app by clicking on the ">" beside it, the next page shows the info for just that app, including the name, version, App size, and amount of storage space used by Documents and Data associated with it. You also have the option there to Delete the App. -

Why does my location services not work properly?
Over a week ago, my location services stopped working. I can't view local weather on the default weather app, the default map can't find my location, and none of the other apps I have that look for location can view my location. I tried turning location services off and back on but it won't fix the problem. How can I fix this while waiting for the computer to be repaired?
Haven't checked at home, but if this is the problem, then how come it still won't work at places like Starbucks or other wifi hotspots? I'm at Starbucks right now, logged on and checked my email so I saw your reply, remembered that the router disconnected me at home last week and then I was able to get back on. So, I thought maybe that's the problem - what you said - so I tested my location on the map and it STILL won't work! I'm so irritated about it, since I rely on that app to help me determine the distance and time to walk to locations from my current location.
I was able to "solve" the weather app by just adding my city instead of using the local weather. I'm hoping I can try restoring my iPod later this week if the laptop gets fixed by then. I HATE restoring, though. I could do it using iCloud but most of my music is off CD's and I haven't paid the $25 to upload all of that so I'd temporarily lose those songs. -
Why is the intelligent keyboard not working properly
I cannot use formulae or perform other functions in numbers on my ipad. The correct keyboard is not opening up when double tapping any cell?
Not quite sure what you mean by "correct Keyboard". Do you mean the correct functional selection for the cell (Number, Date/Time, Text, formula), or somethign else? I beleive the default is nor number, but it should shift to a different one depending on the current format of a cell.

App store not working properly a new hard drive in iMac
Hey guys,
My seagate hard drive crashed, so had to get a new hard drive in intel late 2009 iMac. When I go to app store, it is acting weird. Some of the programs it says I have installed are not installed on my computer. So I am unable to download them. Also I am unable to update garageband, imovie and iphoto. No clue what needs to be done. Hope spmepme has a answer.

- Quit the App Store
- In Finder - Go>Go to folder... (or Apple-shift-G)
- Paste in the following "~/Library/Caches/ "
- It will take you to a folder. Delete com.apple.appstore
- Launch the App Store.
