Why is XP COM port complaining it cant load the driver (Error31)

Uninstallation of all NI software and reinstallation of the V1.6 upgrade results in COM3 and COM4 visible in XP Device Manager at the usual addresses and sharing IRQ 7 with an ! over them.
The first port complains "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)". The second port complains "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)"
Using the NI software to test the ports the software and hardware are ticked off but COM3 and COM4 are not shown ... help!!!

Try right-clicking on both devices in the Windows Device Manager and select uninstall. Then open Measurment and Automation Explorer (MAX) and go-to Tools->NI-Serial-> Recover Unused Serial Ports. Hopefully, this will get your system back to a safe state. Then, just reboot your computer.

Cant load the airport express with 802.11n

today i just got my new airport express with draft n. but my router can't load the config anymore after i uploading my setting ( change to N with 5 GB ). i've tried all of methods that the manual included. I think i need to exchange the new one. i just bought it yesterday.

It can be the bridge. It could need firmware update. or the FW ports may be an issue. LaCie seemed to invent the phrase/tip 'resetting firewire ports' due to the issues with their drive cases.
You can try an SMC Reset.
So far I have avoided name-brand and tend to see them mentioned. Often with a new OS (though you are on 10.6.8, but when 10.6 came out there was a common complaint and thread of users: FW or USB worked but not the other interface).

1. Put your Windows CD in the drive.
2. Select Install Windows.
3. Let install continue.
4. After the first restart, you will see something about Recovery Console. Do NOT select this option. Just let setup continue.
5. You will soon see a message "searching for existing Windows installation".
6. Soon after, you will be given the option to REPAIR that installation or make a new installation.
7. Select REPAIR.
8. Just keep going.
That's it. Hopefully things will be just fine after the repair is done.

Why is my com port missing from my list of VISA devices

Hello all,
I have an Agilent E5810 ethernet to GPIB gateway. I installed Agilent IO library and chose to make Agilent my primary VISA because otherwise the devices on the gateway didn't show up in my VISA device list. Now all of my GPIB devices show up (local and via gateway) but my com port is missing. The com port is actually a USB to serial adapter. It shows up in device manager as CP2101 uart interface COM6. I reloaded NI-VISA but COM6 still oesn't show up. I reloaded Agilent IO and unchecked "make Agelent primary VISA" but that didn't fix it. It is also missing from MAX. I added COM6 ASRL6 but VISA doesn't see it
I think the root of my problem is getting Agilent VISA and NI VISA to work together but why won't my com port show up?

I have an ipadII(WiFi), and I've got a problem with an application "HayDay",after the last update I cant load the game,it says connecting then suddenly it comes back to the homescreen of my ipad,please someone,anyone,help me with this problem.

After shutting down my computer at night, in the morning I find it awake and booted and displaying the user password prompt page. Why is this happening and how do i stop it. Thank you for your help.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or quit the mail app and restart the iPapd. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Cant find the Driver for my Wireless on my Laptop

Hi Everyone,
So I have been trying to fix my Laptop for some time now. I use to have windows Vista on this Laptop then upgraded to Windows 7. Now everything is perfect but for some reason I cannot find the correct Driver for my Wireless on this laptop. I have tried searching and searching for countless hours and even went on the website and let it detect the system and suggest me the drivers but it doesnt seem to pick up my Windows 7. I have tried the Vista before and it did not work as well. So I am really hoping someone on this forum could help me out. You would make my life sooooo much easier : )

Hi:
Install the above driver and that will install both the ethernet driver and co-processor driver.
You have a problem with the wireless card...could be minor, could be major.
The wireless card is missing from the device manager.
Install this software, reboot, and see if you can turn on the wireless card by using this software.

If that doesn't get the Network Controller device to show up so that you can post the hardware ID for it, then the motherboard is shot. Power to the slot that the wireless card is connected to has been cut.
Very common problem with the Nvidia chipset motherboards with the amd processors.

I cant load the Media Sync software for Ituens

I run windows XP. Bberry Desktop software 4.7 downloaded and installed. When I go to Media Sync for Itunes it tells me the software is not loaded and then starts to download it.
I then get a mesage simply that "windows has encountered and error and install will be stoped". no other messge or error info.
I tried downloading the Media Sync software separatly from the web site and installing it but it will not install either. When i try to install the media sync this way i get message that "windows needs to reboot before continuing with the install". I reboot but still cannot load the sync. I have even tried to remove all "non-essential" software from loading automjatically at start up after reboot but still no luck.
all other BBerry desktop software seems to be working fine.
