Why we use attribute tag ?

In xml
<attribute name="name" value="12"/>
Actually wat does it mean??
Need help..

I am not sure whether you are asking about a generic xml file.
Here I am giving the way to use attribute tag in a repository definition file.
Use 1:
<property name="MyProperty" column-name="my_column" property-type="org.package.src.MyPropertyDescriptor" display-name-resource="My Property">
     <attribute name="MyClass" bean="/com/package/module/MyComponent"/>
</property>
Here, in this case,a custom property descriptor (MyPropertyDescriptor) is used.
Inside the MyPropertyDescriptor, this attribute's name and value can be used as the arguments for setValue(String pAttributeName, Object pValue).
Use 2:
Setting default value for specific properties of type timestamp. The below code sets the value to the current time by default.
<property name="creation_dt" data-type="timestamp" column-name="creation_dt">
<attribute name="useNowForDefault" value="true"/>
</property>
Use 3:
The well-known attribute 'useCodeForValue' for enumerated properties.
<property name="relToPolicyHolder" data-type="enumerated" column-name="policy_holder_rltn_ind">
<attribute name="useCodeForValue" value="false"/>
     <option code="0" value="self"/>
     <option code="1" value="spouse"/>
     <option code="2" value="dependent"/>
</property>
Use 4:
To make a property non-editable through ACC, set 'uiwritable' attribute to false.
<property name="vendorNbr" column-name="vendor_nbr" data-type="string" display-name-resource="Vendor Number">
     <attribute name="uiwritable" value="false" />
</property>

    what if we dont have internet connection, will it throw an error because in that case it wont be able to point to given uri?URI != URL. Plug off your network cable and retest. Does it crash? Think logically. I must however confess that it has been a poor choice to let them start with "http://". This introduces unnecessary confusion among starters. You has been not the only one who was wondering that way.

  • JSPs using Custom Tag with Boolean attribute cannot compile

    Hi,
    In Oracle9iAS(9.0.3), a jsp using a tag extension, which has a Boolean attribute, caused the following compile error, although the jsp is valid in other web containers.
    ERROR:
    /opt/oracle/j2ee/home/application-deployments/simple/simple/persistence/_pages/_test.java:56: Method toBoolean(java.lang.Boolean) not found in class _test.
    __jsp_taghandler_1.setExists( OracleJspRuntime.toBooleanObject( toBoolean( b)));
    JSP:
    <%@ page language="java" %>
    <%@ page errorPage="error.jsp" %>
    <%@ taglib prefix="jnpr" uri="/WEB-INF/testtag.tld" %>
    <%
    Boolean b = Boolean.valueOf("true");
    %>
    <jnpr:TestTag exists="<%= b%>"/>
    The boolean value is <%= b %>
    Tag Handler:
    package defaultpak;
    import javax.servlet.jsp.tagext.*;
    import javax.servlet.jsp.*;
    public class TestTag extends TagSupport{
    private Boolean exists = null;
    private java.lang.Boolean getExists() {
    return exists;
    public void setExists(java.lang.Boolean newExists) {
    exists = newExists;
    public int doStartTag() throws JspException {
    return super.doStartTag();
    Is this a known problem? Is there a way to get around this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Fred

    This is a known issue with 903, fixed in coming 904.
    In 903 the workaround is to use primitive type "boolean" instead of Object type "java.lang.Boolean" in user's getter and setter code for the taglib.

  • Use jsp tag output as another tag's attribute value

    I don't know anyone has ever tried this, one tag's attribute value needs to be dynamically set using another tag's output. Something like
    <layout:grid cols="<layout:write name="element" property="value"/>'' space='false'>
    </layout:grid>
    I want the cols attribute of grid tag to be the output of <layout:write name="element" property="value"/>
    The way I wrote is of course not working.
    But I know PHP can do things similar to this, JSP should be able to achieve something like this too.
    If anyone knows how to do this or using any alternative way to do this, please let me know.
    Shane

    something like this...
              OuterTag qParent = null;
              try {
                        Tag myParent = getParent();
                        while (myParent != null ) {
                          // loop up through tags until you find the one you want
                             if (myParent instanceof OuterTag) {
                                  qParent = (OuterTag) myParent;
                                  data = qParent.getSomeData();
                             } else {
                                  myParent = myParent.getParent();
                   }

    Most likely you have set the wrong file as the external editor. You don't want the obvious one; that's just a link to the welcome screen. Go back and choose this one, which is hidden away inside the folder Support Files:

  • Why does people use JSP Tag for their JSP page? (Urgent)

    I don't know what benifit if I am using JSP Tag.
    If anyone knows, pls give me an idea and the advantage of using JSP Tag in JSP Page!
    Thanks in advance!

    You have to read a little about JSP, JSP stands for JavaServer Pages, you can use jsp tags and you can use java code. If you dont want to use jsp tags then you should just write html file, if you just want to use java, then write java class or a servlet.
    The need for jsp arised because people were inserting html code inside a servlet class..a big no no..and a headache. JSP separate model from the view...read a little about MVC-2 model view controller pattern.
    Also read some tutorial on this website...good luck

  • Creation of triggers using CFQUERY tag is giving error

    Hi,
    I am creating triggers and stored procedure on ORACLE data
    base using <CFQUERY>.
    <CFQUERY DATASOURCE="CRM">
    create or replace trigger AWC_ACCOUNTINGPERIODSID_TRI
    before insert on AWC_ACCOUNTINGPERIODS
    for each row
    begin
    select AWC_ACCOUNTINGPERIODSID_SEQ.nextval into :new.AP_ID
    from dual;
    end;
    </CFQUERY>
    But the created trigger is not compiled, it is giving the
    following error
    "Line # = 1 Column # = 6 Error Text = PLS-00103: Encountered the
    symbol "" when expecting one of the following: begin case declare
    exit for goto if loop mod null pragma raise return select update
    while with <an identifier> << close current delete
    fetch lock insert open rollback savepoint set sql execute commit
    forall merge pipe The symbol "" was ignored."
    If I edit that trigger in enterprise manager console by
    pressing space and compile that, it is working fine with out any
    error. If i run the above statement in sql *plus, It is working
    fine with out any error. Can you please tell me why this is
    happening if i run it using cfquery tag and also the possible
    solutions.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vinod

    I can't tell you why your particular trigger is failing, but
    here is some "typical" reasons from Oracle's metalink.
    Common reasons for PLS-00103
    Error Summary
    PLS-00103 Encountered the symbol "%s" when expecting one of
    the following (Oerr
    LS.103)
    Error Details
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Error: PLS-00103
    Text: Encountered the symbol "%s" when expecting one of the
    following:
    Cause: This error message is from the parser. It found a
    token
    (language element) that is inappropriate in this context.
    Action: Check previous tokens as well as the one given in the
    error message. The line and column numbers given in the
    error
    message refer to the end of the faulty language construct.
    PLS-00103 errors can often be difficult to localize what the
    error is so here are some
    common reasons for PLS-00103 errors..
    A very common reason for PLS-00103 is when a reserved word is
    used, with a reserved word
    means words that names an oracle object or a built in
    procedure, for example MOD, ABS,
    TABLE, VIEW etc..
    When trying to use SQL*PLUS commands in PL/SQL procedures,
    like SPOOL, SET and other
    commands that belongs to SQL*PLUS can result in this error.
    Using parameter declaration at the IN/OUT clause in a
    procedure, this works in versions
    prior to 8.0.4, but it just ignored the declaration.
    Using DDL commands in PL/SQL will fail in PLS-00103, the way
    to use DDL commands is
    to build a procedure in dynamic sql.
    When creating package specification and a package body, a
    PLS-00103 error will occur
    if there is no slash, '/', after the package specification.
  • How to set input/output "use" attribute in the WSDL file of BPEL process?
    Hello,
    I have a BPEL process that I want to deploy it as an RPC web service. I want to access it from a Java module (via an automatic generated Java stub from the WSDL file exposed by the BPEL process).
    I wrote manually the corresponding WSDL file for my BPEL process, where I stipulated for the operations exposed by my process ( in <soap:binding> tag) the value of the attribute "style" to "rpc". Also, for each <input> and <output> of the operations (inside the <operation> tag), I set manually the attributes "use" to the values "encoded". Something like this:
    <operation name="getCustomers">
    <soap:operation style="rpc" soapAction="getCustomers"/>
    <input>
    <soap:body use="encoded" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" namespace="Trial"/>
    </input>
    <output>
    <soap:body use="encoded" encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" namespace="Trial"/>
    </output>
    </operation>
    The issue is that, when the BPEL process is built and deployed, the WSDL file generated automatically by BPEL (based on the one manually writen) set the values of the "use" attributes to "literal". This is what is generated:
    <operation name="getCustomers">
    <soap:operation style="rpc" soapAction="getCustomers" />
    <input>
    <soap:body use="literal" namespace="http://acm.org/samples" />
    </input>
    <output>
    <soap:body use="literal" namespace="http://acm.org/samples" />
    </output>
    </operation>
    Is there any chance to keep the original values (written by hand) for the "use attributes?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Marinel
    I am not sure I understand your question. If you want all your BPEL service to be rpc still by default, you can change the templates: C:\eclipse\plugins\bpelz_0.9.XXX\templates.
    The BPEL PM engine support both style of invocation.
    I hope this helps. -Edwin
  • Why don't my tags show up when re-saving a document that I previously tagged?
    I love the idea of tags. I use them religiously in Lightroom to organize and recall my photos. The one thing that makes tags ineffective though is the amount of effort it takes to enter them. But being a true believer of the value I do it. That being said, the way Apple has implemented tags is driving me nuts.
    PROBLEM - All the tags that I previously saved with this document are gone. I have to renter them.  This is horrible!
    Why don't my tags show up when re-saving a document that I previously tagged? Is there anyway to get my Mac to recognize that I previously tagged this file and display my tags?
    If not, APPLE PLEASE FIX SOON.
  • How to get parameter and add it to hyperlink using struts tag?
    Hi everyone:
    There is a.jsp pass a parameter to b.jsp.How to get the parameter in b.jsp using struts Tag?I also want to add the parameter to a hyperlink in b.jsp.For example in b.jsp <html:link forward=.....>cxxxx</html:link>.How to add the parameter(get from a.jsp) to cXXXX in b.jsp?
    Try this:
    Copy A Request Parameter - You can create a new bean containing the value of a parameter included in this request. If no parameter of the specified name was included, a request time exception will be thrown - therefore, it is common to nest the use of this tag inside a <logic:present parameter="xxx"> tag to ensure that the parameter was really included. If there is the possibility that more than one parameter of the same name was included, specify the "multiple" attribute (and the resulting value bean will be an array of String values, instead of a single String).
    <bean:parameter id="name" name="name"/>
    And then just use <html:link> with paramId. No java code at all.
  • How to use Custom Tags for Theme and Base Map Definitions
    In Mapviewer documentation I've found the following new feature:
    The XML definition of a theme or base map now supports application-specific
    attribute tags. You can use the Custom Tags option in the theme definition in Map
    Builder to specify tags and their values, which can be interpreted by your application
    but are ignored by MapViewer itself.
    I'm able to define a custom tag in Mapbuilder, but how can I use it in my Application?
    Thanks.
    As he said, you have to use as Platform service to create adapter in OIM.
    tcUserOperationsIntf service = Platform.getService(Thor.API.Operations.tcUserOperationsIntf.class);
    HashMap<String,String> searchmap=new HashMap<String,String>();
    searchmap.put("Users.User ID", userID);
    what am I doing wrong?You will notice above that I mentioned
    YOU CAN'T USE CUSTOM TAGS AS ATTRIBUTES TO OTHER CUSTOM TAGS
    (was that loud enough for you to notice this time)?
    Try
    <html:text styleId="instruction" styleClass="text" size="50" name="instruction" property="value"/>
    //or
    <html:text styleId="instruction" styleClass="text" size="50" property="instruction" value="<%= instruction.getValue() %>"/>
    better alternative: populate your formbean with your action and just have:
    <html:text styleId="instruction" styleClass="text" size="50" property="instruction"/>
    If you set the "instruction" property of your formBean in the action, the value will be automagically reflected here.
  • Possible bug using go tag with redirection under SSL?
    I've been testing an application under SSL and have noticed that some links "pop-out of SSL". Upon further inspection I noticed the links were using <go> tags with redirect set to true.
    Does anyone know where <go> gets the URL it uses? I'm wondering if this might be a webcache configuration issue or appserver config issue.
    note: using AS 10g 9.0.4.1.1
    Thanks in advance!
    /SFL
    Hi all,
    Just thought I'd update on resolution. As suspected, an AS config issue was responsible for this glitch. Long story short WebCache can communicate in 2 ways w/ an origin server (HTTP or HTTPS). You can have WebCache use SSL w/ the client and still communicate with the origin server using HTTP (which was our case). PITFALL: the origin server is unaware of the use of SSL by the client (WebCache only "knows"). SINCE THE ORIGIN SERVER IS THE ONE EXECUTING THE <GO> TAG, when using redirect=true attribute with the tag, the URL generated by the rewrite routine is HTTP and not HTTPS as one might expect when accessing the app via SSL.
    Hope I can spare someone else the headache...
    Cheers!
    /SFL
