Why won't my security code save on the payment info?

I suddenly can't purchase anything. When I check my payment info, I see that my security code info is "required". That's weird since it hasn't changed in years. Regardless, I enter it and hit "Done". There are no complaints or red error messages or anything to indicate there is an issue with the code. When I recheck the info, the security code field is once again saying "required". The code is not saved and therefore I can't make the purchase. Please don't link me to the standard "payment info" link, it doesn't address this particular problem. This is the 2nd major issue I've had with payment info in a month. Looks like many people are having issues with the security code. Apple, what is the deal?

Having the same problem.   Scheduled a call with support, they said it was on apple's end and it would be fixed in half an hour.  An our later and still not fixed --charges my account a dollar each time I try to update it, and I have to start over on the support case.   Really frustrating.

    Make sure that the exact billing address on your banking statement is the same as what is on your itunes store account.

    Also, if you owe itunes store funds, it will give the error message as well. If you do owe, you have to provide an itunes store gift card to cover the balance before placing the CC back on file.

    Everytime I try to download an app, it wants me to answer some security questions. I do, and then I click "Done". Then it says "Sorry. There was an error in the process of saving your information."     Why won't my secure thumb drive (FAT32) work with os lion?  I have used it ok with older mac operating systems.  When the thumb drive is inserted in the usb port, an error message appears stating that the disk was not ejected properly.  It shows as readonly in Finder.  When I try to eject it, the spinning wheel appears and I have to relaunch finder.

    I checked with my bank to see what such a beast could be. So you have an account in the bank that serves as collateral for the secured credit card and the line of credit available on the card is equal to the amount on deposit in the collateral bank account?
    So the issue is between the iTunes payment system and your bank. It might be best to see what the bank has as a record of your attempt to make the purchase. I doubt any fellow users here can offer much insight as too why the system won't accept your payment method on this attempted purchase.

  • Hi, I recently got an iPad. I want to purchase software but I was prompted for a security code due to the fact that I am purchasing on a new device. I entered all my credit card details but can't even recall having a security code.

    Please help. Because I wanted to purchase apps on my iPad after I have only used my credit card detail on my iPhone, I was requested to also enter some security code. I cannot recall what it is and now I cannot purchase any apps. I entered anything in the hope that some assistance to choose a new one will pop up but nothing. What can I do?

    Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download from the store so you won't be able to re-download them, but you should be able to re-sync them back to your phone from your computer's iTunes or backup.     At a guess (you don't list the error), what maybe happening is that you have booted from the original OS install disc, told it to install the (old) original OS on to the hard disk and it has said - no thanks you cannot install an older version because it already has a newer version installed.
    This is 'normal', what you have to do is totally erase the hard disk first. You do this by booting from the original OS install disc, but rather than trying to do an install straight away, you should first use Disk Utility and use that to erase the hard disk. Then you can run the install again and because the hard disk will be empty it will not have a newer OS on it and the installer will be happy.
    Obviously this means any files you have on the hard disk will be erase as well. If you want to keep them you are going to need to back them up first, the easiest way would be to use Time Machine to backup to an external hard disk.

    I have been trying to open some important files that were emailed and they won't open.  I am getting the blue and white pop up asking if I want to open or save and it won't let me do either.  It did this the other day and somehow I finally got it open after shutting down the computer.  Tried that this time and it won't work.  Tried uninstalling and reinstalling adobe.  It did not work.  There is also an online website I use to complete and upload PDF file documents and it won't work either.  What has happened?  How do I fix?

    Ah this is just because I haven't fully updated my bridge yet, but the solution still works fine

    The video shows replacing a current DLL file with one from last year - the key issue being that the files found in the Bridge and Photoshop folders are DIFFERENT. Why would this be?  I checked a PS CS5.1 installation myself and the files are already the same.   • Why won't photoshop let me save my images that I edit?

    I have photoshop CS6 and am on a Mac. The photos that I am trying to edit are ones that I have taken and uploaded but everytime I try to save them after editing, I get this message, "the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file."     Photoshop is just reporting an error that the OS returned.
    Yes, there is a problem with permissions, or another application is using the file (which can include the Finder, due to some bugs in the Finder).
    You will have to troubleshoot the directory to make sure you have permission to save there, and double check that no other application is using the file.
