why wont my .vst plugins work on my new os ,win 7 pro 64 bit, i have cs6 and cc installed, they worked fine when it was on xp pro.. even if it finds them and you can bring them up it crashes cs6, any advice is helpful, thanks!!

It's not the OS - W764Pro can run 32-bit software fine in emulation. Your problem is that there is no 32-bit version of CC. It was widely circulated before release that this was going to be 64-bit only, and that you would need bridging software to run old 32-bit VST plugins.
Apparently, jbridge works fine once you've got it installed and everything in the correct place. I wouldn't know though, because I don't use it - I only use a small number of 64-bit plugins directly. On those few occasions that I want to use a 32-bit plugin, I run it in CS6 Audition (which isn't the CC version, but is 32-bit). So yes, if you have the 32-bit program you can run them in that. Both versions of the software will co-exist quite happily on the same machine, and won't interact at all - except that you have to be careful with your sound device settings.

Why is DxO Viewpoint not working in CS6?

I recently downloaded DxO Viewpoint, a perspective correction program. When I try to work on original jpeg or TIFF files, either in the standalone or plugin version, I get just a black rectangle - no image - the size of the image on the screen. However, the program adjustments are present and working, and the program tells me that the corrections have been made, and the changes can be seen once the image is file is re-opened. But, I'm working blind so to speak.
My system: Windows 7, 64 bit, AMD A8-3800 APU (4 core), Radeon HD6550D GPU, 8 gb RAM, running CS6 (also CS5 and Elements 7). I have updated drivers for both the CPU and GPU to no avail.
For information, I have the NIK suite of plugins and they work fine. A trial version of Topaz plugins worked fine also.
At this point I don't know if it's a computer problem, a software problem, a Photoshop problem, or something else altogether. I've gotten ho help from DxO after ten days of trying. I'm hoping someone has seen this before and knows of a fix.

Preview 5.0.3 (SL 10.6.8) does not have "Markup." It has "Annotate" (under Tools). The options that you'll have available are context sensitive. If your PDF has selectable text, you'll find a working strikethough option. But if the PDF is merely an image (a picture) of text, then there's no selectable text and thus the strikethrough annotation will be grayed-out/unavailable. In the latter case, you can fudge the strikethrough effect, more or less, by using a very thin line Arrow annotation.

Hello, this is my first post and i am after a little help.
i am having problems with my usb ports, i have a k8neo platinum mobo. i have usb ports on that, i have two front usb ports and i have a 4 four in a pci slot. a few weeks back they work working, i had been using a pen drive fine and my friends external hd connected through my front usb ports. now for some reason none work. i have tried my pen drive in every usb port and none work, the pci usb ports dont recognise it and all the others dont see anything at all. i have checked the bios and that seems fine. i dont know why they would just stop... i run win xp pro with service pack 2 so it should have no problem? any help would be great.

Fenix, after reading your post above, I decided to check my Antec case's wiring, manual, website and check the MOBO manual. In my instance the case, disregarding the 9th wire, and the MOBO agree. I did find some interesting information about the connector block and the Antec case. I bolded the warning information:

Why Did Background Eraser Stop Working?      CS6

Why might the Background Eraser tool have stopped working?
The settings I am currently using are Sampling: Once; Limits: Discontiguous; Tolerance: 100%; Protect Foreground Color: checked.
I wanted to remove a head and shoulders photo portrait from a background, and to do so, I generally followed the instructions on a YouTube video tutorial by Ali Baba entitled How to Remove Background Around Lots of Hair Photoshop;
which showed to use the eraser tool.
My background was an off white color, with a shadow from the subject on some of it.      I made a layer on top of the photo and filled it with red (instead of the dark blue in the video, so it would contrast more with the black hair of my subject); then I copied the photo into a layer and put it on top of the red (unlike the video where he erased off the original.) Then I erased away the background.    Then I took the steps shown to work around the hair.       At that time, the background was still not closely erased around the ears and shoulders and I put the job away for a while.
When I came back, I used the Quick Selection to select the area from the entire right side that wasn't erased yet.   But I didn't know how to erase the selection, so I went back to the Background eraser and erased the rest of the right side away. Then I deleted the selection.
For some reason, however, I am not able to erase any more on the left side, and I am stymied as to why not.

I think I found a solution.   I just did on the left side what I had done on the right.   I made a Quick Selection, and then for some reason, I was able to erase in that area.   Then I removed the quick selection.
I don't how or why it worked, but I think it did.

Why has Lighting Effects stopped working in CS6 32 bit

I have just upgraded my graphics card and Lighting Effects has stopped working in 32 bit CS6. It never worked in 64 bit but it was OK in 32 bit until now. I press the effect and nothing happens. Can anyone help?

If you revert the driver update do you get the Lighting Effects menu back? What is your OS, video card, and driver version? Do you have 13.0 or 13.1?

Why wont my crossfade tool work?

When I select the crossfade tool and drag it from one region to the other, sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't. The regions are touching, even when I zoom in to the finest resolution. This is extremely frustrating. Don't stop reading and start posting. Finish reading my post.
I stumbled upon at least one thread where someone was encountering a similar problem, but it was archived, so I couldn't post my discovery there.
If you drag one of the regions, drop it, then drag it back to its original position, the crossfade tool works. This obviously isn't ideal, but at least it works. If anyone has a better solution for me, I'd love to hear it.
I didn't see anywhere where I could use the marquee tool to highlight the desired region for the Xfade, then use a key command to set the fade. Why, oh why can't you do this, Logic? WHY!!?!?!?!!!!!

Check that you're audio files are uncompressed AIFF or WAV. If you have imported anything into your project like an mp3 or m4a file, it may not have been converted to uncompressed audio file, and you won't be able to create crossfades.
You can do this by selecting the regions you want to edit and under the audio heading in the tool bar, select "convert regions to new audio files". I thought I had set up Logic to do this automatically when importing, but it did not happen for me just recently.
I think it's a really good idea to save your new project AS SOON AS YOU CREATE IT, before you've done any importing or recording. This way you have a proper project folder established and files in folders where they're supposed to be right from the start.

I bought the creative cloud about a month ago and I've been having problems getting it to work ever since. So far I've managed to get it work after a multiple tries to turn it on and then turning it off again before it works. Well this time the stupid turning off and on didnt work, it just won't let me sign in and let me download anything. When I open creative cloud it is blank. I really need to get it to work, my school and work depends on it and I don't wanna be paying for something that doesn't work. Can you please get back to asap! please! I'm desperate here...

You can try this :
Please rename OOBE to OOBEE.OLD Folder from the following location
location in Window C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
location in Mac: library>.application support>>Adobe>> OOBE
After renaming the OOBE folder please uninstall Adobe creative cloud from the cleaner tool and re-installed the product from from www.creative.adobe.com/apps
PS: Please uninstall Creative cloud connection if you see in Cleaner tool.
As the above discusson also mentions renamimg, Please disable the firewall of the system & network & then retry.

I just recently got an iHome mouse and when I plug the USB in it says "configure keyboard. Press SHIFT+A random to key to submit keyboard." and when I click cancel I cant get it to come back up and the mouse doesnt work at all. yes the mouse has batteries and the USB is plugged in as well as the mouse being on, I can see the red laser so I know it is on and supposed to be working.
P.S. I also tried looking in the bluetooth and it still would not read the mouse.

Why wont my Air Drop work?

I got this ipad air in february, and I love it. the only problem I seem to be having is my air drop will not work, my bf has the air as well and he can airdrop me all sorts of stuff when we are close to each other. However, when I select a picture, and choose to airdrop it.. nothing happens. No picture pops up (I can see my face on my bf ipad when he chooses me to air drop), both my bluetooth and wireless are on but yet it still refuses to let my use my air drop. Any ideas at all what could be happenining or am I doing something wrong?

Why wont my rocketfish mic work?

i have a Compaq Presario CQ60-418DX Notebook PC running with 32bit vista.
i recently got a "Rocketfish universal USB gaming headset" for Christmas. the audio in is fine (i can hear it) but the mic isnt working. i have it set as my default and made sure the mute was off. i followed the instructions plugging it in so i assume that is correct. when i open the 'recording devices' menu, it says the mic is working but it is not. I checked for driver updates and am up to date. please help me figure out how to get the mic working.

Just a guess here, as I've read about this problem before, with no apparent solution. The new iphones with voice control now come with headphones with a built in mic. Could be that with the software update, when you plug the phone into the aux port the software is telling the phone that headphones with built in mic are attached, thus your mute problem since you're not using headphones. My only suggestion is to google for an adapter that has a built in mic.
You could also try a reset, reset all settings-you'll have to re-enter passwords for wifi & settings.
Also check & see if there is a speck of dirt in the headphone jack. Doesn't take much, use low pressure air or putting your headphones in & out a few times.
