Wi-fi: No Hardware Found and USB Wi-fi Adapter

Hello !
I want to explain everything that happened from the beginning. My MacBook Air started giving a problem showing " Wifi : No No Hardware Installed " . Then the problems started . I found a few ways to resolve this problem:
1 . Holding Command + Option + P + R before turning on the MacBook . He goes to the gray screen and restart again. Now release the keys .
2 . Shut down your MacBook and connect the charger . Click Left Shift + Control + Command + Power simultaneously. Generally the macbook league, but if you do not call , press the power button.
3 . When the system starts up activate bluetooth and then turn off . Restart . Should operate normally . Almost does not work sometimes restarting , shut solves .
Note : all these ways are temporary resolutions .
When the Wifi back to work, after some time the system panics and crashes and to shut down the macbook and start it again . When Wi - fi appears : No No Hardware Installed the macbook works perfectly without wi - fi .
I read many articles on forums and I think the problem may be with the AirPort card . I have not been to an apple store to see a budget.
Trying to solve the problem I bought a Wireless USB Adapter: LINK ONE - L1-AW1Un that comes with the installation CD containing the drivers. Use the Mavericks (the latest) installed. After restarting, open the program normally Raillink the Wireless Utility. I connect, create a profile and appears active when connected after a few seconds change to disconected doing it constantly.
Below is the Wireless USB Adapter manual: LINK ONE - L1-AW1Un.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0tn0xatEydORjF5aV96ZFZxQ3M/edit
(MANUAL - Google Drivers)
I did not follow. Unable to create an IIS 7 certificate as shown in the manual. The drivers on the CD and the website are 10.5, 10.6, 10.7;
I need help.
Thank You

Hello Marvyn,
Try install following driver on Ralink's site: http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/usb-rt2870rt2770rt3x7xrt537xrt5572/.
After install driver on my MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3), the Wireless USB Adapter L1-AW1Un works perfectly.
Best regards.

  • BSOD 0xD1 on Windows 8.1 when using Asynchronous VISA and USB to Serial Adapter

I was consistently getting a BSOD with the code 0xd1, on usbser.sys, on windows 8.1. I am running LabVIEW 2013 SP1. The bluescreen only occurs on Windows 8.1 and everything functions fine on 7 and XP.
The "USB to Serial Adapter" is actually a microcontroller, not a physical USB to Serial adapter. The microcontroller's usb driver is just an INF to point to the generic Windows USB to Serial drivers.
The BSOD occurs after several minutes of my software running, while it is polling the controller every second. After changing the communications mode in my software to synchronous on every VISA write and read call, the BSODs stopped occurring and the program has been running stable for several hours now on Windows 8.1.
This BSOD seems to be the result of a strange interaction between the hardware, VISA and the Windows 8.1 USB to Serial drivers. Sending lots of traffic through a terminal emulator does not produce a similar BSOD.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this? If so did you discover an explanation or any clues to fixing it more permanently than always using synchronous communication?

Some notes to help anyone else who gets this problem in the future:
-I was able to replicate it today on Windows 7 also, though it took a more extreme situation(a VI  looping asynchronous reads and writes as fast as possible for several minutes). The result was the same 0xD1 BSOD.
-I found a Microsoft support article documenting that the crash is from a race condition in usbser.sys and providing a fix: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2964073 . Sadly the fix is only for Windows 7, but I was able to confirm that after installing it, BSODs no longer occur from VISAs asynchronous read.

Update: While the driver I knew would work has not shown up yet, I did some detective work and explored some other broadcom wireless card driver folders from some HP links, and I found one that should work for you. While it says it is for HP desktop PC's, they put the exact same wireless card form factor in a desktop PC that they do in a notebook PC. I see no reason why this driver would not work, since the setup information file contains the same hardware ID that you posted.  Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file and you can see the hardware ID you posted is supported by this driver.  x86 - Win7

Thanks for the response, but I do not have a midi interface. I am using a midi to usb connector cable, thus bypassing the need for a Midi interface.
The Mac reads the USB cable as a midi device, but not the keyboard that I am trying to use as a controller. I have tried it with my korg sp 300 and with my Nord Electro 2.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks,

    Tristan...
This is what you have, correct?
    http://www.alesis.com/usbmidicable
    This from Alesis..
"The AudioLink Series USB cable receives and outputs MIDI signal thanks to its internal interface. The USB-MIDI Cable connects plug-and-play to your Mac or PC for an all-in-one USB-MIDI solution."
Notice, -internal interface-. What you have is a simple USB MIDI Interface. Most MIDI interfaces are USB.
My point is (was), MIDI OUT of the Korg goes to the connector marked MIDI IN on the Alesis, those new to MIDI often get this wrong.

Before you go through that trouble open About this Mac > More Info... > System Report > Audio and see if the system actually knows it has a microphone.  Then you can look into Applications > Utilities >  Audio MIDI Setup and see if the microphone is there, select it and make sure the sliders are set to full. Then in System Preferences look for Sound > Input and make sure it shows up there and the sliders are at least half way up. If none of that works do a

  • Unknown device - ipod nano fine - problem with windows xp and usb root hub

Greetings all. I've seen this question come up over and over again and have been working on it following previous posts and posts on microsoft and hp sites for a couple of days now.
First off - the ipod nano is fine. Works on my son's computer well.
When I plug it into my 6 months new HP Pavilion laptop it says: 'found new hardware' and goes through the process of installing it, says it's been installed, but then shows 'unknown device'. In Device Manager it tells me there are no drivers installed, but when I try to follow the other instructions on this forum to update the drive to USB mass storage device (usbstor.inf), it tells me the best driver is installed and won't do it.
Many seem to have this problem with devices other than the iPod on Windows service pack 2 so I went to the Microsoft forums and they seem just as puzzled. I've updated all my Windows & HP software to the latest possible versions. The problem is definitely in the USB. Once, when I uninstalled the USB device and then rebooted the computer with my iPod still plugged into the port, it found my iPod, correctly identified it, and for a blissful moment I thought everything was fine! Then it reinstalled the USB drivers and made a comment to the effect that I should move the iPod to a USB 2.0 port for more effective operation and the iPod disappeared again.
I have 3 USB ports on my laptop, all are USB 2.0 and all 3 have the same problem.
I've tried all the stuff people have already said on here...does anyone have any NEW ideas? I'm hesitant to take it in for service because it seems to be a software problem that should be fixable.
Thanks in advance for your help and sorry about the long post.

This isn't a solution, but it's something I just tried and it may provide someone additional clues about's going on. I too think this is some sort of USB problem.
I have 6 USB ports. Two of them are USB 2.0. Since I applied the 03-23 update my computer hasn't recognized my nano at all. I would connect my nano and I couldn't get it to show up in My Computer, in iTunes, or on the far right side of the Start taskbar.
I just tried plugging my nano into the first USB port of my USB 2.0 pair and left the second 2.0 port empty. I then rebooted with the nano attached. Viola - I get a "Found New Hardware Apple iPod USB Device" message. My nano is now flashing "Do Not Disconnect." A small removeable storage icon with green arrow now shows on the far right side of the Start taskbar. If I click on it (like you're going to eject it) the note displayed says "Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drive (F:)".
If I go into My Computer, "Removeable Disk (F:)" now shows there. However, if I try to follow Trevor's instructions in another post to "go into My Computer with iPod connected, right click it, wait till the right click menu comes up (could take a few minutes); click Format, . . ." I'm stuck. I do the right click, watch the hour glass and wait for the Format menu to come up but it never does. Eventually the hour glass just goes away. No message, no Format menu. The waiting hour glass just goes away.
My computer isn't as new as yours, but like you I am completely current on maintenance.
I'm going to keep trying . . . If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

  • Cypress - Other hardware - Cypress At2 USB Storage Adapter

I have a USB Disk Enclosure that was working with Windows 8.1.  I recently installed a Windows Update optional update titled "Cypress -
    Other hardware - Cypress
At2 USB Storage Adapter" and the next time I attempted to use the disk enclosure, it did not work.  When I connect the device the system makes a sound like it recognizes a device and the
Device Manager display gets redrawn (refreshes), but no device shows up in Device Manager, Disk Manager or Safely Remove
Hardware and Eject Media.  I have booted, also without helping the situation.  I am thinking that I should remove the update, but the "Uninstall and update" panel does not list and update title that matches the above.
Update #1:  I found the same issue from two others on another MS forum that was posted yesterday: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/crypress-a2b-usb-driver-update/96765e04-7f4a-42fb-bf37-ca98fa8fc0cc?rtAction=1395927639282
I have had MS Support remoted into my system all morning and am being told they want $99 to run their tools to fix the problem.
Update #2:  After hours chatting w/MS Support, no progress.  They ran lots of virus scans and repair procedures.  I did make the following observation.  When the USB Drive is connected, the system recognized something and chimes as described
above.  What actually changes is that a "Cypress AT2 USB Storage Adapter" devices appears in the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" tree of Device Manager.  When the drive is unplugged, this device disappears.  Before the
Win Update that I suspect caused the problem, the drive would appear as a drive also.  Note that the original behavior had the device appear as a disk, not as a removable device like a flash drive.  So Windows is recognizing the storage controller,
but not presenting the attached disk as a drive in windows.  Oh well, back to the MS Support Chat......
Update #3: I contacted MS Support a second time and pointed them at the “Cypress AT2 USB Storage Adapter”
that appeared when the USB Enclosure was plugged in.  They poked around for a while and finally “Uninstalled” the device driver and had me unplg/plug the drive and BANG, the drive appeared.
I don’t know if it was the 5+ hours of work the first support person did or if that was the solution all along, but the drive works now.
Oh and one more thing, as I was completing the survey for the support, with not good ratings I might say, the remote control connected support person booted my computer right out from under me without a word of warning.
I guess there is more than one way to keep survey ratings high.

Same problem. To solve you have to uninstall "Cypress At2 USB Storage Adapter"
removing driver files with the option suggested by the dialog box of device manager. (I'm sorry i can't use the correct words because I own the italian version)
After that, when you connect the drive, il will correctly mount the volume and do not appear Cypress device anymore.

  • J2se and USB

So...i'm puzzled! after searching for ways to use USB devices( webcam at the moment ) I found out that:
-there is JMF, but it's not under development any more, or no longer supported
-there is jUSB, but it's only for UNIX/LINUX (and Mac I think)
-there is little chance for usb support included in J2SE because it would be considered a security issue /:)
    my dilemmas are:
-how to get data from USB devices? I'm interested in a general way of streaming from USB because I plan to implement the algorithm in hardware. So i'm not interested in functions such as: getFrameFromWebcam() :p
-the guy who said that direct access to a physical device is a security issue also said that the best way is to write a file of some type somewhere and the OS should do the rest...I guess under linux this is possible, but is there such a thing under windows? ...how?where?when?
-I suppose at some point I will have to make my own usb api. I there some place I could find something similar to this: http://today.java.net/pub/a/today/2006/07/06/java-and-usb.html?page=2#create-your-own-javausb-api ? ...I understood that this guy wrote a C++ api. I'm interested in a J2SE version because I kinda hate C++ .

  • Z87-G45 Ethernet and USB problems. And BIOS flash problems

Hi. I kind of have a problem and hope you guys can help me.
I got this motherboard yesterday but I got a major problem with the Ethernet connection. It will simply not work, it’s totally dead. I have tried to enable everything that has to do with the Ethernet (Settings/advanced/intergrated peripherials) but it still will not work.  There is no light at the back side that indicates that there is signal when I plug in the cable. I have tried the cable on my laptop so I know there is signal.
There is no problem installing windows, but I can’t install the drivers for the ethernet. I get an error message then that there is no hardware that can use this drivers.
Are there any places in the BIOS where I can enable it? How can I get this up and running?
And my USB driver is kinda messed up too. My 120MB UBS pen is found and can be used, but my 64Gb flash pen and my 500Gb USB HDD will now work with the USB. I only get the USB "ping" connection sound over and over and over and over again with the windows error, drivers not installed.
The other thing about the USB is that every time I restart the PC, I have to unplug the mice and put it into an other USB to activate it.
I have tried to flash the BIOS, but when I try (after pushing m-flash and connecting the USB and finding the file), the whole BIOS just freezes up and nothing happens. I try to wait a bit but nothing happens. I have to manually restart the machine by "force" (Turning the power to PSU off and on again. Ayone know if there is a problem with flashing the BIOS from USB? Or maybe that the USB system is messed up? Any other way I can flash the BIOS?
I have downloaded all the latest drivers and updated.
    Best regards
    Robert

Again do not try to use MFlash. Try the board outside case like suggested.
THis is making me frusterated now......
I have now had the motherboard on my wood table with a antistatic tablecloth and antistatic armband.
I only plugged in 1 ram, power, a monitor and mouse/keyboard(USB).
I manage to get the USB pen bootable so I could do the memtest and biost flash.
The USB ports are still unstable. I still have to move my mouse and keyboard from slot to slot when I restart the machine. It feels like if random USB conection is being turned off and on for every time I start the computer.
    I connected a HDD to install Windows 7 64bit.
The computer will still not read USB storage with larger then my 120mb storage in both the BIOS and Windows (I suspect that 1GB is the limit for some rason). It only shows that USB device was not installed.
After I isntalled the USB 3.0 drivers that came with the mother board, the USB 3.0 system just stoped working. I tryed to update the drivers to the latest ones, but they still dont work. The USB 3.0 drivers do work in BIOS, but the drivers that came with the motherboard does not support windows 7 64bit. Or this motherboard.....
The ethernet conection is still FUBAR. When I try to install the drivers from the CD, the "LAN picture" is still grayed out. And when I try to force install the drivers, nothing will accept the network connectin. Trying to install the Killer Network Manager just ends up in "No supported hardware found in your system". It is like that the ethernet system is turned totally off.... But in the BIOS is marked as enable.
I have tryed to installe Realtek drivers, Intel drivers and the Atheos drivers, but non of them will install, all just say that there is no network that supports this drivers.
I am at my wits end right now. During the last 15 years I have build about 20 computers and this motherboard is taking 1st price for being the worse one ever.

  • MSI P4M900M2-L new hardware found after every switch off

I've just installed the MSI P4M900M2-L motherboard with a E4400 processor.
Everything installs fine (not ! in device manager) and everthing seems to work ok.
If I reboot the machine everything also works ok.
My problem starts if I switch the machine off. When I do this, every time windows boots (vista) the "new hardware found" icon pops up at the bottom and it installs the following:
       - USB to PCI adaptor
       - PCI to PCI adaptor
       - High definition audio
       - and also my tv tuner card
Once it's done a bit of searching all the devices become available, but how can I stop this happening. It's really annoying for Vista Media Center as I've to reconfigure the tuner every time after a reboot (about a 15 minute process).
Any help would be great, as it's driving me mad!

I think you haven't installed VIA's drivers? Have you?

  • Failed Hardware Scan and other issues E440

    Hi all,
This is probably more rant than anything, but I wanted to give a heads up to others too.
I have a ThinkPad E440 that is a year old. From the very first time I turned it on, there have been issues. The first hardware scan (via Lenovo Solution Center - LSC) showed a warning for the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Local Connection Test. There were also tons of System Events that always show up in the "Configuration History" part of the LSC. You can look at the calendar and tell exactly which days I used the computer because there will be System Events generated each day. Things like app crashes and failed drivers.
In July 2014, I got the first warning for the 16 GB SSD - the SMART Short Self-Test. By February this year it showed as failed for each hardware scan (these were initially set up to run monthly).
Also the whole time I've had it the touch screen would just stop working at some point and I would have to reboot to get it working again.
I finally called Lenovo on March 30th, before my warranty expired. When I called that time, I didn't realize the hard drive failure was the SSD. So they sent me a new 500 GB drive. I also added the other things into the case when I talked to them. For the wireless issue they suggested making sure the driver was up to date. I did this and let them know when I called back that it was up to date and still having the warning. So I called them to tell them to tell them about the wireless and also that I realized it was the SSD having the failure, not the main drive. The first case had already been closed even though none of the other items were addressed.
So they opened another case (this is #2). They said to mail them the laptop since the wireless issue would probably be on the board and it wasn't something I could fix myself. They sent a box with a prepaid overnight shipping label. I was very sick for a few days so I sent it back to them on April 10th (a Friday). Via UPS I saw it was delivered on Saturday. Work was performed on it Monday, April 13th and sent back to me that very day. I received it on April 14th. This part of the service has been excellent - very fast response.
Being in IT, I included a letter with the laptop that outlined the issues that should have been in the case. I also printed the hardware scans and what the system events looked like.
When I got the laptop back, the sheet inside said they had replaced the Speaker because of Distorted Sound. This was not even on the list even though I had noticed it. I didn't even power up the laptop before calling them again - yes, I was furious! Plus our power was out...
So this was noon on the 14th. They opened case #3 and sent me ANOTHER BOX so I could send it back.
After our power came back on the 15th, I powered up my laptop. I opened the browser (I have it set to restore the previous session) and there was a sexually explicit video on YouTube. I opened the other browser and there was a different video on YouTube. So this person was watching YouTube instead of fixing my laptop. I looked through both browser histories and there was quite a bit of activity while my laptop was at the repair center... I ran the hardware scan - still failed and a warning for the wireless. They really hadn't done anything.
I also found two pictures of the repair person in the recycle bin...
So I called back. I was LIVID! They opened another case (this is #4). And sent me ANOTHER BOX. I finally learned the other day that once a case is opened, it cannot be edited or added to at all. Instead, they close the other case and open a new one. I guess their turnaround time for closing cases is excellent! I've never seen a system like that - and I've used a lot of them.
I got a really nice, patient fellow on the line. He took all my info (again). I emailed him the pictures, screen captures of the YouTube videos, the letter I had sent - everything. He entered as much into the new case as he could - he talked to one of the supervisors to make sure he did it right. Somehow he flagged it so that the laptop would get more attention (time) at the repair facility. He also opened a separate case (an escalation ticket?) for a supervisor to call me regarding the person's conduct at the repair facility. He said they would call me that day. (It's now the 25th and I've never heard from anyone)
So, he sent me ANOTHER BOX. I've built up quite a stack of them.
Our power was out AGAIN from the 17th through the 19th (don't get me started).
I noticed a hardware scan had now gotten a failure on the main hard drive. So I called them on the 21st to add this to the case before sending the laptop back. The girl said they can't add anything to an existing case or edit it at all once it's opened. She would have to open a new case and SEND ME ANOTHER BOX. I told her to forget it because I was ready to send it in and didn't want to wait for another box. I also asked for a status on that "escalation case" where the supervisor was supposed to call me. In order to do this she, yes, wait for it, had to open ANOTHER CASE!! So they would know I wanted a status. I'm completely dumbfounded.
So I sent it back on the 21st. This time I practically wiped it. I had already removed all my files the last time, but I had left my bookmarks and browser history intact.  I set up a guest logon with admin privileges. I updated my letter and printed off more stuff to include with the box. On one sheet I had only the case number, the serial number and machine type. On another sheet I had "DO NOT SEPARATE THIS PAPERWORK FROM THE LAPTOP" and the case number. I put this sheet on top (The guy on the 15th said my letter and stuff may have gotten separated from the laptop once it was delivered to the repair facility). I used a ton of staples so it would all stay together. I included in my letter the failure on the main hard drive and asked if they could look at it. I wrote about having to open a new case if I wanted to include it.
They received it on the 22nd. A nice gentleman from the repair facility called me that day asking about the password. that. was. written. on the sheet they have you fill out. I told him what happened last time and also mentioned the hard drive failure and asked if he could look into it. He said they would.
I received my laptop back yesterday morning. The sheet that came with it said they had "replaced the following parts to complete the repair of your laptop."

    ECA-WIRELESS                                            <no symptom listed>
There was also a sheet saying they had installed a factory preload of software and I needed to install Lenovo and Windows updates.
When I booted it up, the first thing I noticed, in the lower right corner was:
    Windows 8.1
    SecureBoot isn’t configured correctly
    Build 9600
I ran a hardware scan. Well, I tried. It stopped part way through and said it finished successfully but most of the tasks showed up as cancelled. I tried to run it again - issues - rebooting ensued. It said the LSC wasn’t available and that I should try again or reboot.
Tried several times. Then got what I guess is the new BSOD - kinder, gentler:
Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just
collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. (xx% complete)
If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL
Even though the LSC said my Lenovo files were all up to date, I ran the Update. And first I had to download a new version of Update. Then I downloaded all of the Lenovo updates and installed them (there were quite a few). The BIOS update failed. While I was doing the Lenovo downloads, I got a light blue screen but no text (I was out of the room so I'm not sure what happened). Did CTRL-ALT-DEL and it shows only IE and Task Manager as applications that are running. Could not “Switch to” IE. Hitting window key to go to start didn't do anything. So I had to restart.
By 3pm yesterday there were 34 system events in the configuration history.
I ran the hardware scan again after I updated the Lenovo files, and you guessed it! Failure on the SSD (SMART Short Self-Test) and warning on the wireless. Nothing had changed. Except hardware scan is acting different than it did before I sent in the laptop for repairs. When it finishes, it instantly closes and just shows 100% complete. When I click on "see last results" it shows a screen called
    Log Information,
    Canceled 04/24/2015 n:nn pm
You have not done a hardware test on your computer
And the calendar in LSC only shows the very first hardware scan I did on Friday. Even the hardware scan screen shows the date and time of the last scan. It also shows the error code. In order to see exactly what is failing, I have to sit there and watch it very closely and snap a picture of the screen as soon as the error (or warning) shows up.
When I would try to run Windows update, it would hang up PC Settings. I couldn't even kill it using task manager because it didn't show up as a task. During this, I got a flag saying the firewall wasn't turned on. I tried to turn it on, but clicking on Turn on Windows Firewall didn't do anything. I tried to setup my Microsoft account but that just hung too.
I ended up running Windows Update FOUR TIMES to get all the updates installed. Every time I ran it, it said "Done!" and I would run it again and more would show up. The last time was this morning.
At some point, the error about SecureBoot went away.
Then, I created a bootable BIOS update disk. Following the ReadMe instructions, I went through ThinkPad Setup and verified several values. Of note:
Secure Boot was DISABLED. According to the ReadMe file, this should be ENABLED in Windows 8.1. I enabled it.
Under Startup/Boot, according to the ReadMe that came with the BIOS update, UEFI/Legacy Boot is supposed to be set at UEFI Only for Windows 8.1. Mine was set to "Both". I changed it.
In Startup, OS Optimized Defaults was DISABLED, even though it says right there (and in the BIOS update ReadMe) it should be ENABLED to meet Microsoft Windows 8 Certification Requirement.
After these updates, I flashed the new BIOS.
Then, I ran hardware scan again...
Now I have TWO failures on the SSD: Random Seek Test and SMART Short Self-Test. Great.
In the Event Viewer (that I recently discovered), it says my disk has a bad block. It just says The device, \Device\Harddisk\DR1, has a bad block. I assume this is the SSD...
There are 867 events in the event viewer - Critical, Error, and Warning...
Fifty-two of these are from October 7, 2013 - before my little laptop was a glimmer.
The rest are from when Lenovo had it and yesterday and today.
64 of them are the disk error.
341 are from DeviceSetupManager. 65 of those are from failed driver installs. 69 are for not being able to establish a connection to the windows update service. 64 are from not being able to establish a connection to the Windows Metadata and Internet Services (WMIS).
3 times it's rebooted without cleanly shutting down
60 of them are from Service Control Manager and say The TDKLIB service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified.
One of them says {Registry Hive Recovered} Registry hive (file): '\??\C:\Users\Default\NTUSER.DAT' was corrupted and it has been recovered. Some data might have been lost.
16 are warnings that various processors in Group 0 are being limited by system firmware.
12 say the certificate for local system with thumbprint <bunch of hex numbers> is about to expire or already expired.
108 are warnings for failure to load the driver \Driver\WUDFRd for various devices
    16 are application errors
One is for the computer rebooting from a "bug check"
15 are for name resolutions timing out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.
10 are for SecureBoot being disabled.
    14 for services terminating unexpectedly
15 are for WLAN Extensibility Module has stopped
61 are for applications not being able to be restarted because the application SID does not match Conductor SID
12 are for activation of CLSID timing out waiting for the service wuauserv to stop
So, I'll call them on Monday and open. a. new. case (#5?) - but really 7. And get A NEW BOX.
    I'll keep you updated!

Hi amycdero and welcome to the HP Forum,
I understand that you are having scanning and printing issues after upgrading to Mavericks OS X v10.9.1. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.
In this document for Mac OS X: Scanning Software Does Not Open or Stops Responding are steps the may help you with your scanning issue.
This document for Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems should help with the streaking printing issue.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know.
    Thank you,

  • Problem with my iPod touch: Frozen screen, unable to access anything as slider does not work, will not accept a full restore.  Apple Store advised that it is a 'hardware' problem and I could trade-in!

I am a relatively 'new' user.  Touch was a gift, I used it in a simplistic way - listened to music took a few photos, added a few calendar events.  After a year I then decided to be more proactive and found a few free apps (Solitaire) - then had a the frozen screen problem which I though was connected to low battery, but it wasn't.  I recharged it, still could not access, then tried a full restore and got an error message.  Took it to a Genius Bar and was told it was a hardware problem and as it is out of warranty  I could trade in or just buy a different product.  As this is my first Apple product is this usual?  Do Apple products have a very short shelf life - I anticipated that it would last me longer than a year!  Has anyone else had this problem?  Was it able to be resolved? Or is it worth trying to get it repaired - and if so who can do it - Apple  Store did not offer that to me as an option?

Sure sounds like a hardware problem. It happens some times. The iPod is just an electrical device.
Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one for this price. Apple does not repair your iPod.

  • Airport Extreme - problem with usb printer and usb disk

I have Airport extreme with firmware 7.1. I try connect usb disk and usb printer with usb-hub to airport. I can't get disk or printer working. Also try connect only disk or printer without usb-hub to airport getting same problem. How I get disk and printer working with wireless network (windows pc computers)?
    1)
    My printer is HP PSC 1210 all-in-one ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=90764&lc=fi&cc=fi&dlc=fi&lang =fi&cc=fi&y=0&x=0 )
    - printer seems working fine after installing bonjour printer installing wizard.
    - I get error (in windows) when I try print document from word. Error only says "error printing" in status value.
    - In airport utility all seems ok. Airport see usb printer "Hewlett-Packard psc 1200 series"
    - printer protocol is RAW and driver manufacture HP (also try with microsoft driver)
    2)
USB disk is Targa Databox II 250
    - Airport utility says "Disk needs repair. Errors were found with a disk connected to your airport base station. please connect the usb disk to your mac or pc and use disk utility or another disk application to repair the disk"
    - I have connected Targa usb disk to windows pc and run scandisk and defreg. No errors found in windows. Result..no help for airport

I have a similar problem to your second issue. Tried connecting a Netdisk to the USB port of the Airport Extreme and it also said there was a problem with the disk. Have performed a low level format on the disk and Airport Extreme still complained the disk had a problem.
After unplugging the disk, my route decided to stop allowing wireless connections even after rebooting. Ended up having to hard reset the Airport Extreme and reconfigure it with my old settings to work again.
FWIW, the first Airport Extreme I purchased today only worked on 802.11a and steadfastly refused to work on b/g so had to get a replacement. I suspect Apple's quality control is not quite as good as it used to be.
