Wiki/Blogs gone (503 error) com.apple.wikid throttling in logs

Hello – I have an issue on my hands I can’t seem to get to the bottom of.
My system is an intel xServe dual quad core xeon with a software raid mirror, setup in advanced mode 10.5.6
We have been running this server for over a year, DNS works, OD works (everyone can authenticate and get at file shares etc.), VPN works, everything with the exception of the wiki services and blogs (teamserver)
I had a bad HDD in the array, that’s been replaced and rebuilt and everything is working fine with the exception of the above.
I am seeing the following in the system log non stop:
4/16/09 12:33:00 PM com.apple.wikid[1544] Removing stale pidfile /var/run/wikid.pid
4/16/09 12:33:00 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.wikid[1544]) Exited with exit code: 1
4/16/09 12:33:00 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.wikid) Throttling respawn: Will start in 9 seconds
The com.apple.wikid log:

I went on a hunt for plistlib.py but it does not exist in the /plat-mac/ folder as listed in the log. There are however two other files plistlib.pyc and plistlib.pyo
I’m really not wanting to rebuild the entire server over this, I assume I’m just not reading something in these logs maybe some better trained eyes will see.
Thanks
Charlie
PS: will the powers at be get angry if I send this through the server mailing list as well, perhaps the wiki mailing list if such a thing exist?

Hey Everyone - a quick update. A very helpful friend gave me a hand figuring this out turns out the wikid process was failing because of a blog plist file. Replacing the metadata.plist files for all the users (whom had blogs in the collab data store) along with all the metadata.plist files for the groups as well got the service back up and running. When I say replace, I mean we renamed them all metadataplist.old and the system rebuilt the files and then loaded up without crashing.
I'll try and better document this whole issue (with more research into the cause) and update this for anyone facing this in the future.

  • Com.apple.wikid.mailinglists Can't Stop - List Updated

ok, here's a weird one.  every 10 minutes in my log i see:
    com.apple.wikid.mailinglists mail:status = "list-updated"
this is strange beause i DO NOT have mail activated, I do have webserver on but NO WIKIs are active.
why would i still be getting this message?
not sure if it's related but i've been experiencing random OS reboots after the memory page-file explodes and crashes.
i'm getting ready to rebuild my system. don't know if it will fix my issues.  been running this box fine for a year and only recently has it gotten whacky. maybe an update did it.

I have exact same problem running 10.6.8 on an XServe.  Noticed my Virtual Memory was at 235GB using only a 160GB RAID as storage.  Got the same email error with mail/wiki shut off.
Has anyone ever solved this problem?

  • Repeating messages in System log: com.apple.wikid.mailinglists[######]: mail:status = "list-updated"

    Hello
I have an OSX 10.6.8 server and recently noticed the System log keeps repating the same message after 10 mins:
    com.apple.wikid.mailinglists[#####]: mail:status = "list-updated"
[#####] = number that changes every event
The server is bound to Active Directory and the only active services are AFP and SMB
Is there a location/way I can check to stop/fix these messages?
    Many thanks for your help
    Ciao

This is part of the wiki server's setup. If you don't want the messages, turn off the wiki (or 'collaboration services' in the web server setup.
Beyond that, there's no harm in the messages. Why do they concern you?

  • I need your  error {com.apple.appleaccount error 403}

I need your help please as i has the below error {com.apple.appleaccount error 403} so how i can solve it to work in i cloud please i need a reply

    Error: com.apple.appleaccount error 403
Recreate Error: On a Iphone/Ipad device that has "already" created the maximum of 3 per device Apple limit of ICloud account creation attempt to create or login to ICloud service tab in Settings. You will be presented with "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" which does not tell the laymen anything useful.
Cause: IOS 7 reports a "best guess" error instead of detailed error explanation.
How To Resolve Error: Find a device that has not been used to create an ICloud account the maximum 3 times and use it to create the ICloud account by logging into the Settings/ICloud tab with the Apple ID you want a ICloud account created for.
Keep in mind this will use up one of the three lifetime allowed ICloud account creations allowed by Apple on that device.
Also per support: If an existing account is logged into the ICloud service. A. Backup phone using iTunes on a mac/pc. B. At bottome of Settings/ICloud Delete the account "AND" all the user date from the phone. It will offer the Delete all data option. The reason for Deletion(and is why we backed up on a pc vs. the cloud) is when you create the new ICloud account it will backup all of the Device owners information to the wrong persons account.
Once you have created the new ICloud account log into that account on device that was presenting error: "com.apple.appleaccount error 403" it should allow the ICloud login.
Once you have verified the "device with error" is ICloud functional delete the ICloud account from the device used to seed the ICloud account and delete again all user data from cloud. Restore the recently created mac/pc Itunes locally created backup to the phone and then go to Settings/ICloud and login with the device owners Apple ID and password and verify your backup to the ICloud settings and Eureka! your done.
It took less time to do that for me to type this lol.
NOTE: Original posted under poet68 id, that was me logged in as my customer. This was me "danowolf" discovery and solution developed with Apple support on the phone 9/26/2013

when i try to sign in to icloud with my apple id i get this error com.apple.appleaccount error 403

If you've already reset the password and changed your payment information, then the next best thing to do is call Apple directly and ask for iTunes Billing Support.  Your account is likely disabled on their computers as part of their fraud prevention protocol.  You may have to verify yourself as the account holder to get the account enabled again.
    Good Luck!

  • What is this error: com.apple.fontd FODBCheck: foRec- annexNumber != kI

what is this error: com.apple.fontd FODBCheck: foRec->annexNumber != kInvalidAnnexNumber (0)
and there's an error appeared in the startup: com.apple.fontd [74] FODBError: Revive Font Family failed (fam -32256, fileToken 372). (status = -3127)
then when i tried to validate the fonts in font book to see what's going wrong, com.apple.fontd FODBCheck: foRec->annexNumber != kInvalidAnnexNumber (0) appeared in the console. after thousands of try and error, i guess it's something related to Geneva.dfont.

Appears that your font databases are mucked up. Start up in safe mode (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455)and then restart normally. That will rebuild the databases and allow you to run Font Book. Also, see Font Management in OS X for more details.

  • ICloud - error "com.apple.applecount error 403". How can i access it?

    Hi,
I am using iPhone 4S and updated to iOS 7. But when i try to login into iCloud it gives me the error "com.apple.applecount error 403". How can i access it?
Kindly guide me how to signin to iCloud

I searched for you and found this answer:
com.apple.appleaccount error 403 is the "best guess" error presented by IOS 7 when it see's the 3 user creation limit is reached and you attempt to create a new ICloud account by logging into ICloud on phone that has used all 3 account creation limit set by Apple.
Fix: go to a different Apple device that has not burned up its 3 per device ICloud account creations and setup the account there.
NOTE: you will use up one of the 3 maximum ICloud account creations on the device you use.

Make sure that your date and time settings and time zone are accurate (Settings - General - Date and Time). Reset your phone to 'Set Automatically' and then try signing in again - this worked for me.  My date/time settings were not automatic (candy crush cheats!!).

  • WHAT???  .launchd[1] (com.apple.dyld) Throttling respaw

After the security update these are showing up about every one minute or so in the console logs. What is this message mean?
    12/17/07 6:15:12 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.dyld) Throttling respawn: Will start in 31 seconds

It is a known issue on "dyld" handling and a notification message such as "(com.apple.dyld) Throttling respawn" is harmless. Leopard no longer uses prebinding for the Operating System itself, instead a cache file is built by dyld's libraries. Thus the cache will automatically be rebuilt in 31 seconds whenever one of the dyld's libraries in the cache is updated in your case. This is what I understand about part of "dyld" for Leopard system.
If you want, find which an application(s) encourages the message to be called from inside the system. Then you may want to ask the vendor to fall into step with Leopard implementations.
dyld = the dynamic loader that is responsible for loading frameworks, dyld's libraries and bundles.

Even if I try to reset the sync from my computer to replace what's on my .mac account, I'm can't due to the error message above. Would anyone be able to suggest or provide a solution? Is this due to the iPhone being released today, or with the 10.4.10 update? Thank you.
    Ivor
    Dual G5-2.0   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

It likely has nothing to do with either event. These registered entities are tied to your registration of the .Mac Sync client:
    • com.apple.palm.calendars.Category
    • com.apple.palm.contacts.Category
If your platform reports that one or the other, or both, are not present, you can only correct this by unregistering and reregistering your .Mac Sync client. There is no other way a user can have any impact on this issue.

    Hello
I have managed to resolve the error, hopefully this will help somebody.
The solution: Generating a new uidnumber (in this case 5920 to something else) Thankfully this uidnumber was only specific to this system and does not represent the entities user id number within the organization.
However a record of the old user id remains on the system (corrupted profile)

  • How to stop - com.apple.launcd: Throttling respawn Will start in 10 seconds ?

I am running OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 on MacBook Pro Late 2013 with Retina display.
I had installed then removed an application KUsrTSK.app (Kaseya). I noticed this week in Console following process repeatedly running:
com.apple.launchd: (com.kaseya.AgentMon) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
I have tried to look for this command in /Library/LaunchAgents and did not find it.
Someone suggested to run following command in Terminal:
    launchd remove com.kaseya.AgentMon
but no such process was found.
At a suggestion I have downloaded and run EtreCheck.app and have put the detailed results below hoping that it would be helpful for someone to suggest a course of action.
