Will an Apple Store be able to replace my iPod Battery?
Or will they just send the iPod off to apple?
thanks
The Apple store will not replace the battery, you should fill out a service request.
Service request.
You'll find many cheaper options if you Google "iPod batteries".

Not at an Apple Store, and if the iPhone is no longer under warranty, there is a cost.

I have a crack on my iPad. Will the apple store be able to fix it or replace it if I have the apple care?
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task. Start with Google to search for these. -
My iPhone 6 has a clicking sound coming from the top left of the device as if its no aligned properly with the frame.
Ive only had it for about 2 months, the iphone its self is in pristine condition no bumps or scrapes, in fact i treat it
like a new born baby. Will the apple store give me a new replacement or i am wasting my time i have got a clue
never had this or any problem before with iPhone's before. Its not something you want having paid £620 i live
in the UK.If they determine the sound to be a manufacturing defect, then yes, they will replace your iPhone with a refurbished unit of identical specs. The replacement will have the same warranty as your original iPhone, for as long a time as what is left on your iPhone's warranty at the time of exchange.

My insurance company replaced my stolen iphone 4S with a new one, will the apple store allow me to exchange it for an iphone 5 and pay the price difference?
The Apple Support Communities are an international user to user technical support forum. As a man from Mexico, Spanish is my native tongue. I do not speak English very well, however, I do write in English with the aid of the Mac OS X spelling and grammar checks. I also live in a culture perhaps very very different from your own. When offering advice in the ASC, my comments are not meant to be anything more than helpful and certainly not to be taken as insults.
You would need to ask that directly to Apple. Apple is not here nor does Apple answer questions here.
To return an iOS product requires a valid receipt. You have 30 days to return an iPhone. The iPhone must have all original packaging & accessories and be in new condition. Apple may charge a restocking fee on a returned iPhone.
If the iPhone was bought from a 3rd party, their regulations for returns would apply. -
Will an Apple Store replace my iPhone 4 faulty battery on the day?
Hi,
I've been to a sub-Apple retailer 'Stormfront' who ran a diagnosis test on my iPhone 4 (8GB) and the verdict was that my battery, which does not hold charge, is faulty and should be replaced. They told me to book an appointment and take it into an Apple store with a Genius bar and they should fix it on the day with a minimal fee to replace the battery. I don't want to have to send my phone away for a week, so will the Apple store fix/replace my battery on the day? I'm assuming this is a fairly commonplace problem and there shouldn't be too much of an issue ordering in/locating a new iPhone 4 battery. It's only 1 year and 4 months old so out of the warranty but it's a real pain having to charge it mid-day and having the screen brightness dark all of the time. Hopefully someone can answer my question
Many thanks,
GraceThis

Apple store installed optical drive replacement. It plays CD and DVD but will not let me change a DVD to .mp4 without stalling and or going very very slow. Can I fix the HL-DT-STDVDRW GA11NR? The Apple store is a two hundred mile one way trip.
I didn't imply anything; I simply explained the terms of the ToU here because you had not specified what you were trying to do. Most such related questions are about copying protected content and I would not appreciate having my post removed with the obligatory email from Apple because I violated the ToU. In any case, you can find dozens of threads googling (or here) about the newer burners being slow copying content if it is protected. FWIW, if the DVD was produced by a commercial outfit, they may have used some sort of protection or an unusual file format - that problem has been discussed here previously.
As for your slow burner - since we don't even know what type of Mac/model/year/OS you have, it is impossible to guess. If it's an iMac, those vertically installed burners are known to be less than perfect; the horizontally installed versions are better, but still not as good as an external. I've used an external burner for years.
As for the conversion time: the burner should have nothing to do with that; it is your software and your Mac's processor and amount of RAM that matter for conversions and rendering. I have no idea what you are using to burn the DVD. And, as a last consideration: you should always burn your content at a slow speed so you can avoid burn errors and have better results.
Good luck. -
I have an iPad 3 or the new iPad with the normal charger.. my iPad is not starting is there any way to format it? if not will the apple guys be able to access my data?
Honestly, I don't think that they have any other way of accessing anything on the iPad than any other user has. The Apple Store genius will just put the device through the standard troubleshooting steps - in your case probably try to restore the device to factory settings and if that doesn't work, then they will make some sort of offer for a replacement assuming that your iPad is still under warranty.
If I'm not mistaken they will probably erase the device in order to try to "fix" it. That's what restoring to factory settings does. I assumed that you were concerned about losing data - but if you are concerned that they are going to see something that you don't want them to see or access, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. -
I just drop my ipod touch 4th gen and the screen was crashed.. I am wondering if a get a free replacement in the apple store even though i bought my ipod in futureshop?
Dropping your iPod s not coverd by the warranty. You'll have to pay for the refurbished device:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
Out-of-Warranty Service: If your iPod requires service for any other hardware failure that is determined by Apple to be repairable, Apple will service your iPod for the Out-of-Warranty Repair Service fee.
If you want to set up your iPod for the Out-of-warranty service, we recommend that you take your iPod to a local Apple Retail Store. Alternatively, you can contact Apple Technical Support.
For more details, please refer to the Repair Pricing tab on the left. -
My lock button has stopped working and need to get it fixed. Would it be possible if my phone if not insured but still under warranty to go to an apple store and get it replaced with a new one? Or do you have to be insured?
The iPhone has a one year warranty. So you should be able to get it replaced free unless you damaged it. You can check the warranty status here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Make an appointment at the local Genius Bar ahead so you won't have a long wait. http://apple.com/retail and click on Genius Bar. -
Should an Apple dealer be able to replace a failing iPad battery?
The apple dealer said they had to send my iPad2 in to Apple to change the battery. But instead they ordered a replacement, refurbished iPad and gave me that, and the "refurbished" one has a worse battery than mine. It's certainly not in factory condition, as it's losing charge on standby. It was given to me charged 80%, yet I know new iPads usually come discharged. I know it's not mine because it has a different serial number. I think that's why it won't let me get to my iCloud backup to restore. Now I wonder if this was a scam to get my newish iPad and trade it for an older one. This was an Apple authorised dealer (they claim) but not an Apple store. If I had taken it to an Apple store instead, would they have changed the battery for me and just charged me for a new battery?
Apple stores do not replace the battery. You have to send the iPad to Apple.
Refurb iPads have a new screen, new battery and a new back.
New/refurb iPads usually come with a battery charge of 50-80%, never completely discharged.
Cheers, Tom
From Apple battery replacement web page.
Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPad purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPad. During the plan’s coverage period, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for $99, plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax. -
bought a locked iphone4 5 months ago before a deployment, will the apple store unlock a locked iphone?
Only the provider can unlock the phone and pass the unlock info to Apple. This info will be added to a database and you'll be able to use another SIM when you connect to iTunes after you have been notified that the phone is now unlocked.

When will the Apple stores carry 30 pin dock extensions or cables so I can use my iPad with a recessed iPod dock? It's unfortunate that the device is rendered unusable.
No one here is an employee or representative of Apple. We are all users like yourself. We cannot know when or if Apple will release any additional products.
You can leave feedback to Apple about the iPad here:
