Will exitting an iOS app programmatically lead to rejection from Apple app review?

I am developing an iOS application which communicates with a web app and shows some informaton which is relevant to the user.
In case there is no connection to the web server, the application can't function properly, because it doesn't cash any data.
Therefore I am notifying the user in case there is no connection to web server with an alert view (The web server is currently unavailable, please try again later). I'd like to include an option in the alert view for the user to quit the application.
Originally, after the user clicked the "OK" button in the alert view I exitted the application programmatically, but I read from apple documentation that it is not a good practice and it could lead to rejection from app review.
Is it alright to exit the application programmatically after user click on "Exit app" when the alert view appears or should I only notify the user to quit the application by himself? Would the first approach lead to rejection from App review? Thank you for your responses.

Why not just provide a refresh button, rather than making the user restart the app?
If this scenario is caused by the device losing network connectivity, you could also add Reachability logic so the app knows when network connectivity is restored, and automatically refreshes.

Clear Safari, close all apps, and reboot your iPad.

I've also noticed that crashes increase with hand-animations, especially with embedded sounds. Even if you aren't set up to use a central repository and don't want to be, both Git and Subversion support local repositories that will give you revision points to go back to without copies all over the place. If that's too much overhead, Dropbox also keeps a revision history and I have heard/read that you can go back to previous versions you have stored there. First, make sure it it shut down by holding down the power button for 5-10 seconds. Plug in the power adapter. Press the power button and hold down the shift key to see if you can start in Safe Mode.
If the power adapter and/or battery are known good, the next thing I'd check would be the RAM to make sure it is securely seated. If batt and/or power adapter are questionable, then you'll want to find one or both and try them out; if you don't know someone with a similar MBP, this might be most easily accomplished by making a free appointment at an Apple Store "genius" bar.

NativeApplication.nativeApplication.exit(); problem in iOS app

Have this function called to exit an iOS app:

The function is triggered as the listenIO() does its thing and the trace() triggers, but no exit(). Closing the iOS app by the hardware menu button exits but when re-entering the app, it is stll where it was left and I don't have a function to return to a preset state.

One way to get around exit() not working on iOS might be to set the following property in your iPhone section of your app XML:

          <key>UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend</key>
          <true/>
</iPhone>
That would force your application to exit on suspend (aka the user pressing the hardware button)

There's no official way, but many websites offer the service:
- to distribute your beta over the air if you already know your Beta-testers
- to find beta-testers and have them test your app.
Some are free, but the result in terms of quality is not ensured, others can find great beta testers for you but they are paid service (price can vary a lot).
You can type in any search engine the keywords about that, and you should find what you're looking for !

Windows App Certification Kit 3.4 error occurred while generating the report (the application will exit)

I've encounter a pretty big issue while trying to check if everything with my windows phone 8.1 app is all right. After creating package (*.appx) I launched Windows App Certification Kit 3.4 to run it against all the test. Each time I try I get an error saying
"an error occurred while generating the report. the application will exit" and Certification tool just crushes
I looked online for some solutions but couldn't find any. Somebody knows what is going on and how to fix it ?

If you want to test your app, you can also send to beta store and you can get response from the testers.

Just reboot your laptop... While its rebooting try to reboot your phone also by holding the home and power buttonn for 10-15 seconds...When your phone is turned off try to connect it to iTunes and it will recognize your phone in recovery mode.
If you have the .ipsw file for iOS 7.0.6 saved in your desktop then in itunes press shift and click on Restore.
Select the ipsw file and let it restore.
If you dont have it downloaded then simply click on restore.

Will I lose my app data when I upgrade to ios 8

I Am considering upgrading to ios 8 for the new apps and features it brings but I am wondering if my apps will work on ios 8 and data will be saved? I know that when I upgraded to ios 7 all my data was still there, and I have heard ios 8 is similar to ios 7 in terms of look not like ios 6 to 7.

My iPad 4 runs fine on IOS 8.1.2, you should have no problems. To second what mende1 has already said be sure to make a backup first. The one time I had troubles with a update and needed to restore my iPad the iCloud backup fully restored all my infomation.
