Will Firefox 4.0 ever support Mac OS X 10.4.11

When I downloaded 4.0 and tried to open it I got an error message that said it can't run on this version of Mac OS X. I run 10.4.11 is Firefox just going to abandon older Macs?

Mozilla will not be making a version of Firefox 4 for OS X 10.4

  • Will Firefox 5.0 ever be supported by HP Smart Print?

Will Firefox ever be supported by HP Smart Print.?  The Add ons now do not work/are not compatible with FF 5.0.

I do not have any inside information from HP, but someone working for a company with a large consumer medical site mentioned to me that they can no longer support Firefox due to thier new release model of a major release every 3 months.  (FF 5 was just released recently, FF6 beta is already out).  The release schedule is happening too quickly, and there is not enough backward compatibility, particurlarly for add-ins to allow proper support.  By the time testing for a release can be done the release has already been obsoleted with the next version.
I would be surprised if HP would support Firefox in add-ins like Smart Printing, they would always be behind and would have unhappy customers.
[Disclaimer - I do not work for HP and do not have any information, official or otherwise,  from HP folks on this subject.  The above is my opinion.]

  • Will SDN ever support MAC??

    Hi!
It seems SDN is totally partial from Mac users. The site does not support Safari properly and the elearning not at all support MAC. I tried IE but it just can't go to site as it says some security failure and need personal certificate.
eLearning.. it just hangs asking for IE but IE did not go to site at all.
I had seen few people posting problems about sapgui on MAC and other mac related problem but no one even bothered to answer them.
Its really surprising in this world where now more and more people switching to MAC.
    Any thought on this?

    Hi Armin and Eddy,
I tried FireFox, latest Version, but it also didn't worked properly. Yes, i could see most of the web pages but both safari and firefox could not go to the EP Tutorial site. Yes, I loged my first message using firefox so i could access the site atleast.
IE is not supported By MSoft any more but its just that they will not improve it or fix a bug. So what i felt was it should have atleast open the SDN site. but its not an issue as Eddy said it is a too old verison.
Recently the SDN support person replied to me that they will consider my request in future development plan so i hope one day i will be able to go through all presentations and documents on my Mac.
    Thanks for your inputs.

  • When will Firefox increase their HTML5 support?

Like, since Firefox 11 the HTML5 support hasn't gone up a bit. Like it supports 345 points. As when even Opera and Safari bulldozed Firefox with a 376 and 385 pointer. Then Chrome FLATTENED Firefox, with a 437 points. And even Internet Explorer is chasing Firefox like a cat and a mouse, with 319 points and counting. Like WHEN, will Firefox actually put some more effort into building their HTML5 support?

There is always work going on on increasing our support of the HTML5 standard. For example, from Firefox 14.0.1 to Firefox 17 (still in development, the HTML5Test has gone from 345 to 383. The HTML5 standard is still evolving, and work is always being done. However, this isn't the best place to discuss this. [https://developer.mozilla.org/ https://developer.mozilla.org/] is the developer portal for Firefox and covers all the HTML5 work going on.

  • Will the Nokia E70 ever support A2DP thru a firmwa...

    Hey
Im wondering if (or if it is even possible) that the Nokia E70 will ever support A2DP thru a firmware update? I think that such a complete phone with up to 6 Bluetooth connections such support this as it would make it the best business/personal phone ever.
Thanks and I hope when I get my Nokia E70 to enjoy it very much

I wish we could get hold of a contact at Nokia who is directly involved in the E70/Eseries development. It would be so much more contructive to have a discussion about such features with such a person, who I would assume to be an engineer.
I want the E70 to have an active standby shortcuts feature like the E65. It must be so simple to implement, just wish they would do it. Also to differentiate the data connection icon for GPRS/EDGE/3G instead of just GPRS/3G.

  • When will firefox be able to support html files in embed tags again?

A previous question was answered here that stated that firefox did not work with html files in embed tags. Is this a problem that is currently being worked on, or does Firefox just no longer support this?

hello, a html file is no suitable content for an <embed>-tag. you'll have to use ''iframe ''or ''object ''for it instead...

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file <i>cookies.sqlite</i> that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> and <b>cookies.txt</b>, if they exist, in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

There won't be any new Firefox versions released for Mac OS X 10.4 and especially not for Macs with a PowerPC processor.<br />
The Firefox 3.6.x versions are the last Firefox versions that will run on PPC and there won't be many more security updates.
For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

  • Will firefox 5 run on a mac pro running snow leopard

I like FF but am concerned whether it will run on my mac pro running snow leopard, since the download information says it is a windows program.

Snow Leopard being Mac OSX 10.6
You need to download the version for Mac, not the .exe which is for Windows.
www.mozilla.com or if you prefer a certain language no given then look at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html and look down the middle which is Mac OSX.

  • Will the FDR-AX100 ever support 4k external monitoring?

I had plans to hook this up to my Atmos.  This is so very dissappointing.  We may have to send this camera back. MMance

Mitch, Hopefully this really can be corrected soon.  With all of the stabilizers, tripods, and crane/jibs that really need the help of a external monitor for this camera, it really will sell more AX100's.  Please let your depts know that this has been talked about ever since the camera came out last year. Would be cool if they could get it to work when the firmware update for the AX100 comes out in March.  Your response is not a permanent solution for the issue but thank you for at least responding and many of us on various online forums hope that something can be done soon.

  • Will FireFox be updated to support Honeycomb?

Although Version 6 beta runs well, the resolution of pictures is of low quality on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

This is fixed in Firefox 7, which will be released to the beta channel sometime in the next week or so. You can also test the fix now by dowloading a build from the [https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/channel/ Aurora channel].
For more details about this fix, see https://wiki.mozilla.org/Fennec/Features/imgscale

  • When will Firefox have native DNSSEC support

At the moment DNSSEC support is only available using third party developed plugins - there are multiple plugins with different logic available. This all makes it hard for a simple home user to start noticing DNSSEC. As DNSSEC is spreading very quickly all over the world is there a plan to add native support for DNSSEC in the Mozilla products?

This doesn't seem to have started yet.

  • Will Firefox ever support WebKit?

I'm using Sencha Touch, a JS framework based on WebKit. It works in nearly all other browsers, but Firefox. Will FF ever support WebKit?

I doubt it. Mozilla uses Gecko, and I doubt if that will change.
