Will it cause reboot to the server.

Hi All,
In one of our production server, currently we have default setting to the SQL Server memory 2147483647, and the version is Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP1) - 10.50.2500.0 (X64) Jun 17 2011 00:54:03 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Standard
Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7600.
 Customer wants it to set 4.5 GB as mar memory to SQL, Now my question is " when we set it max memory required by customer,  will this(setting Max memory) cause a reboot to the server or have any significant chance of causing a problem
since this is production server?
Thanks.

Hi This is the message which I received when I executed this query
exec
sp_configure 'show advanced options',
1
go
reconfigure
go
exec
sp_configure 'max server memory',
4500
go
reconfigure
Configuration option 'max server memory (MB)' changed from 2147483647 to 4500. Run the RECONFIGURE statement to install.
 what is this  Run the RECONFIGURE statement to install? do I need to execute reconfigure again or what ?
please let me know.

    Every time a query is sent to the MP, it receives 0x80072ee2 which translates to "The operation timed out". This has nothing to do with your MP or DP though so reinstalling them won't make any difference.
    This error is indicative of network issues -- basically, the "client" is not getting a response back in a timely manner (and probably not at all). Assuming the MP is healthy though, then only other piece of the puzzle is the network.
    You can try setting the SMSTSAssignmentsDownloadRetry and SMSTSAssignmentsDownloadInterval task sequence variables in the boot image to increase the client's tolerance for latency or other weirdness in the network. This has worked for many.
    If that doesn't work, you'll have to break out a sniffer and watch the traffic to see what's going on at a network level.

  • SAP MMC not showing SID after sap gui install and reboot of the server

    Hi,  after SAPGUI 7.10 install on our server and rebooting of the same,  SAP MMC says  u201CMMC could not create the snap-inu201D.
    We are desperately trying to find a solution.  We did the following:  Uninstalled the gui.
    1) Uninstalled the SAPMMC snap-in
    2) Re-installed it with the sapmmc_2-20005866.msi.
    3) This automatically created all the required dlls..especially the main ones ..sapmmc.dll,  sapstartsrv.exe in c:\WINDOWS\system32
    4) Copied librfc32.dll from a working system  to c:\WINDOWS\system32 of the system that is having issues
    5) Did the registry setup, by doing REGSVR32 sapmmc.dll, and further did sapstartsrv   -t  and re-created the service with the following parameters:
        <SID>
        01
       START_D*_hostname
       .\SAPService<SID>
       Password:*****
    6) All the services are up and running.
    7) Also did a re-boot, just to check if the registry update needed it, for the changes to be active.
    Still facing the same issue  "SAP MMC could not create the snap-in"
    Any input is  appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    RS.

    Hi,
    I'm not sure if you damaged your sqlnet.ora and listener.ora files after the server was up. So, I would try make some tests:
    1) Rename the listener.ora file to listener.ora.bak and sqlnet.ora file to sqlnset.ora.bak
    2) Restart the listener and see what happens
    Cheers

  • Clarification: Decommissioning Exchange Mailbox server after move to Office 365 will not cause problems with the remaining Exchange CAS server

    Environment: 1x Exchange 2013 Mailbox server
    1x Exchange 2013 CAS server
    All users migrated to office365. MX record pointed to Office365
    DIRSync implemented
    Clarification: All users are now using Office365. As per recommendation from Microsoft there should be 1 exchange server to be retained and the rest can be decommissioned. I tried to test the scenario by shutting down the exchange server
    with the mailbox role and leaving the exchange server with CAS role online. I tried to run Exchange Management shell on the CAS but I'm getting errors. To clarify, once I have uninstalled the Exchange server mailbox will the CAS still look for the mailbox
    server? Or do I need to decommission both Exchange servers and then install a new Exchange server with CAS role?

    Hi
    If you are looking for a hybrid coexistence with office 365 then at least one Exchange 2013 Client Access and one
    Exchange 2013 Mailbox server must be installed in the on-premises organization to run the Hybrid Configuration wizard and support Exchange 2013-based hybrid deployment functionality.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh534377(v=exchg.150).aspx
    Summary - You need to have at-least one CAS and MBX combined together in onpremise or it can even be seperate CAS and seperate MBX but microsoft recommends to have both CAS and MBX together in onpremise

  • Using Outlook for Mac; emails and calendar announcements will not send--error message: "the server does not support secure connections" Help?

    Am using Outlook calendar for Mac--needed for client connection. Invites will not go out. Error message: "server does not support secure connections." Resolution?

    I have done a similar set of things and no results.
    This is really odd, Mac Mail works other emasil clients work, just not Outlook.
    The only event I can tie it back to is the outage a couple of weeks ago when AppleID's weren't working for a perdion of time.  I ended up having to reset mine.
    Is it feasible a local certificate got corrupted at the same or, oddly, that the SMTP servers don't have the updated password?
    What's odd is that I no matter how much i Google, i can't find anyone else who has this problem, other than here?

  • Will a hard reboot reset the IMAC after a potential power incident

    I have had a lighting incident and 2 items on the surge protector did not repower up.  One is the cable modem which had to be replaced.  The IMAC will not start up.  Is there a way to reset the IMAC so that it powers up?

    I concur with Rudegar. If you took enough of a lightning strike to permanently knock out the cable mondem, it was probably enough to permently knock out the iMac also.

  • Rebooting the server with ASM instance............

    Hi folks
    I have to go for reboot of the server as I am adding a RAW device for having one more mount and also will be adding a disk to disk group.
    1) alter diskgroup diskgroupname add disk '/u09'; Is this correct to add a new disk to the diskgroup of ASM instance?
    2) I will have to shutdown all the six instances within the ASM instance and shutdown the ASM instance? Is this correct
    After a successfull Rebbot is done
    3) I will have to startup the ASM instance first and one by one startup the other six instances? Is it the right sequence.
    Please reply at the earliest.
    Thanks
    Shiva

    Hi
    If you want to shutdown the server to add the RAW device then:
    1. Shutdown all instances but shutdown ASM instance in the end.
    2. Shutdown server and add the RAW device.
    3. Startup server
    4 Add the diskgruop and also you can increase the value of rebalance parameter.
    5. Start all the instances that are using this ASM instance.
    Hope this Help

    The digital Av adapter is an extremely tight fit to iPad 2. Will it cause damage to the iPad port or adapter itself due to the clips on the sides of the pins?

    Since we do not have your device it hand it is hard to how tight is too tight but, generally, these adapters will loosen up over usage. You definitely do not want the adapter to be loose.

    Hi johnd83157268,
    Sorry for the inconvenience that has caused to you.
    Could you please let me know what changes have you made in the registry.
    You might need to uninstall Adobe Reader from Control Panel and try install it again from the following link:
    Adobe Reader Install for all versions
    Please ensure that you are logged in as administrator and anti-virus is disabled as that might interrupt installation.
    Try again and then let me know.

  • JSP page display wrong time when compared to the server time

    Hi,
    This problem seems to weird but it is happening
    I have web application running where time is displayed in the page. In this application time is very critical. Currently, time is an hour behind the orginal time.
    I checked the server it is displaying proper time.
    As a matter of troubleshooting, I wrote a java program and run the program in the same server, where the application is running. The java program returns me proper time , but JSP is still displaying time an hour behind. To trouble shoot further, I created a test jsp page to just display the time and accessed the time and the jsp displayed wrong time as well, an hour behind.
    I am running[ tomcat 4.0.3 and j2sdk1.4.3 in suse linux enterprise server 9.0
    My Java program
    import java.util.*;
    import java.text.*;
    public class TestDate
    public static void main(String s[])
         try{
              DateFormat DF = new SimpleDateFormat( "dd/MM/yyyy");
    DateFormat DT = new SimpleDateFormat("hh:mm aa");
              SimpleDateFormat fmt=new SimpleDateFormat("HH.mm");
              Calendar cal= Calendar.getInstance();
              java.util.Date dt=cal.getTime();
              String curdt=DT.format(dt);
              System.out.println("Server Time" + curdt + "\n");
              int hh = cal.get(Calendar.HOUR);
              int mm = cal.get(Calendar.MINUTE);
              int aa = cal.get(Calendar.AM_PM);
              System.out.println("Time" + hh +":"+mm+":"+aa+"\n");
         }catch(Exception e) {
         e.printStackTrace();
    This display Time3:30:1
    My JSP Page
    <%@ page import="java.util.*,java.text.*"%>
    <%
    Calendar calen;
    calen = Calendar.getInstance();
    int hh=calen.get(Calendar.HOUR);
         int mm=calen.get(Calendar.MINUTE);
         int aa=calen.get(Calendar.AM_PM);
    %>
    <%=hh%> <%=mm%> <%=aa%>
    This display 2 30 1
    When I run Date in linux server it gives 3:30 PM EST 2004
    I am really confused, why this is happening, If you have any solutions or idea please post the solution.

    My guess is that the weirdness is caused by Daylight savings time.
    I will presume that you and the server are in the same timezone :-)
    Alternatively it could be caused by getting a different Locale.
    Try the following
    Print out "date.getTime()" value (ie long representing number of millis)
    They should be the same (or close) in both the app and in JSP
    Try simple date format in your JSP as well - what does that result in?
    Print the calendar object, and look for the difference.
    It might be in Locale, Timezone, or whether DST is set or not.
    Hope this helps,

  • Send PDF form to e-mail as attachment with a PHP script on the server

    Hi,
    For several days I've been searching though the internet looking for a solution, a quite simple one in my opinion, but I got a little desperate not getting any result I want.
    Okay. The Situation.
    I have a PDF form to order sandwiches and drinks.
    The PDF has serveral area's and columns where customers fill in the amount of the products they would like to order.
    At a position of a field, the kitchen can almost blindly see what products a customer ordered.
    Therefore, when someone fills in the form, I want to send the filled PDF by e-mail to the kitchen's e-mail adress. And important: the PDF in the kitchen's mailbox should be completely identical to the form the customer filled in.
    So, I have an Order button in my form. I set the action as 'Submit a form'.
    In the settings under 'Enter a URL for this link' I used just some PHP mailer script I also use on my website contact form.
    IF I check 'HTML' under 'Export Format' the PHP mailer works fine. I receive an HTML e-mail listed the ordered products.
    BUT
    I do want the original filled PDF in my mailbox instead of an HTML e-mail.
    So, for 'Export Format' I checked 'PDF The Complete Document'.
    But then my PHP mailer script doesn't work anymore.
    It gives errors like 'no valid e-mail adres' , etcetera etcetera.
    Who has a solution?
    Who has a working standard PHP script for me what just sends the kitchen an empty mail with the original PDF as attachment?!
    There is no need to use any database or other more complex functionality. Just mail the filled PDF.

    You can submit whole PDF format as long as you enable usage rights on the PDF.
    Normally Adobe Reader users can only submit the data, XFDF, FDF, XDP, XML.
    To enable usage rights on the PDF you will need to use Adobe Acrobat Std/Pro.
    As for the PHP Script; it depends on your PHP web server capabilities.
    The script will be slightly different, if the server uses PHP Mail or PHP PEAR.
    Just attach the submission to an email and send.
    If the client is submitting the form from a standalone pdf reader app, you can also respond with a success or failure FDF \status message; otherwise, you can redirect to a success / failure URL.

  • Viewing HTML page saved  on the server from the browser

    Hi all
    In my application i am having some HTML pages saved on the server. I had given an option to the user to view the HTML page from my application. behind the scene what i am doing is that the view request will get handled by a servlet and from that servlet iam locating the HTML page on the server directory and sending the HTML page to browser by using the Servlet OutputStream. The HTML page is shown on the browser but the attached images are not shown. The images are also there in the server directory and are refered in the HTML file correctly. When i directly open the HTML file then the images are shown correctly.
    Can anyone suggest wat's wrong there.
    The code i m using is
    ServletOutputStream out=response.getOutputStream();
                        if(format.equalsIgnoreCase("pdf"))
                             logger.info("Seleted format is pdf..\n");
                             response.setContentType("application/pdf");
                        else
                             logger.info("Seleted format is html..\n");
                             response.setContentType("text/html");
    String file = ReportingConstants.URL_GENERATEDREPORTS+reportPath+itemName;
    // file : HTML file absolute path as string.
                        URL url=new URL(file);
                        BufferedInputStream bis=new BufferedInputStream(url.openStream());
                        BufferedOutputStream bos=new BufferedOutputStream(out);
                        byte[] buff = new byte[2048];
                        int bytesRead;
                        while(-1 != (bytesRead = bis.read(buff, 0, buff.length))) {
                             bos.write(buff, 0, bytesRead);
                             bos.flush();
                        }

    You have to undertsand how the browser handles images and other resources in a HTML page. In the HTML there is an image tag that has a url to an image which can be a reletive url or an absolute url (starts with a "/").
    If the url is a relative url the browser interprets the url as being relative to the url currently displayed in the address field discarding the last element of the url . So if the url in the address bar is http://www.myserver.com/myapp/mypage.html and the relative url is images/myimage.jpg, the browser will submit a request to the server for http://www.myserver.com/myapp/images/myimage.jpg
    Now let's say that you are call mypage.html from a servlet that has the url http://www.myserver.com/myapp/servlets/myservlet. Then when the browser tries to retrieve myimage.jpg it will use the url http://www.myserver.com/myapp/servlets/myservlet/images/myimage.jpg and since this is incorrect it will not be able to display the images.
    One solution to this is to change all of the image urls to absolute urls. That is the start with a slash where the slash represents the start of the url after the application domain name. For example you used an absolute url for myimage.jpg it would look like /images.myimage.jpg and when accessing the page through the servlet url (http://www.myserver.com/myapp/servlets/myservlet) the browser will discard everything after http://www.myserver.com/myapp and look for the image at http://www.myserver.com/myapp/images/myimage.jpg which is the correct url.
    A second solution is to use the HTML BASE tag which tells the browser not to interpret the image tag urls (and other resourses) using the current url in the address bar but to use the url supplied in the HTML BASE tag. The browser will still perform the same process for relative urls but now relative to the BASE tag url. Since the BASE tag url will be the same every time the page is accesssed the images should be correctly accessed no matter how the page is accessed (eg directly, using RequestDistpatcher or via your servlet)

  • HT3228 I don't see the "Delete from server" option under Incoming Settings on my IPhone4, is there a way to keep it from the server so that I can check emails from multiple devices?.

    I'm using IPhone 4 to check emails.  Is there a way on the IPhone to setup that the messages would still be on the server so that when I check on my laptops the messages are still there.  I can do this setup for multiple laptops but don't know how I can do it for the IPhone.
    I got help and setup all the things they told me but the problem is that I did not see the "Delete from server" option under Incoming Settings on my IPhone 4 to select.  Is there anything else that I am missing?  Thanks

    The default for IMAP is that it does NOT delete the email from the server when it pushes the email to a device.  Only if you tell a device to tell the server to delete the email, will it actually delete from the server.
