Will sim card still work?

I currently have an iPhone 4S and plan to switch to my sister's old iPhone 5. The sim cards are different sizes and I have to order a new one. If I order a new SIM card for the iPhone 5, will my SIM card with my iPhone 4S still work in the meantime?

Yes. Until you activate the iPhone 5, either online, on the phone with CS, or on your own, the current phone will remain the active phone.

When did you buy it?
Apple did not begin selling an unlocked version of the iPhone 4S in the US until 11/11/11. I believe it went on sale only through the online store at that time. I'm not sure if it's available at retail yet.
What you purchased was a phone without a contract commitment. It is still locked to AT&T. AT&T will NOT unlock iPhones for any reason. Return it and get your money back, then use that to purchase an unlocked phone.

4. Check for a carrier-settings update. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Then tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, iOS will ask you if you want to install it. If Wi-Fi isn't available, connect your device to iTunes.
5. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
6. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
7. Restore the iPhone.

Only the carrier the phone is locked to can authorize the unlock. You will need to contact Vodafone to see if you qualify for an unlock.

If so PSE6 will usually work.

Once you jail break Apple won't help with the machine. I'm not even sure if they'll honor an 'out of warranty' replacement.

10.6 is Intel only. To continue the use of older non-Intel software, that software must work with Rosetta emulation (which almost evrything does). Be sure that when you are installing 10.6, the option to add Rosetta emulation to Mac OS X 10.6 is selected.

Will a iPhone 4S SIM Card work iniPhone 6? Both phones are Verizon.

The iPhone 4s uses a Micro SIM and the iPhone 6 uses a Nano SIM. The Nano SIM is smaller and thinner, so you should get a new SIM, but some customers have been able to trim their Micro SIM down and gotten it to work in the newer iPhones. It is a snug fit since it is also thicker, so I would suggest getting a new SIM if you can.

Was the phone hacked to unlock it prior to the software update...I.E.-not officially unlocked? Sounds like it was. Updating software or restoring a hacked iPhone will re-lock it to the carrier it was originally locked to. Seems that's what has happened to you. You have two choices: 1. Get the phone officially unlocked, or 2. Re-hack it.
