WILL this code run and please explain

Question

package onlinetest;
public class Animal {
public static void main(String[] args) {
Animal cat=new Animal();
Plz explain the concept if the code runs, how come jvm is handling by creating a object of the same class in itself. It seems to be a loop...??

   private Animal animal = new Animal();
   public static void main(String[] args) {
      Animal cat=new Animal();
}See the difference?
