Win2k ias9031 dcmctl deployapplication app1 kills other apps sessions

Hi.
In win2k ias903, whenever I use
dcmctl deployapplication -a app1 ...
dcmctl unployapplication -a app1 ...
dcmctl reployapplication -a app1 ...
all the applications (app2, app3 etc) lost all the
sessions - client of other applications get a login screen again, lost their form entries etc etc. Major disaster.
I raised a tar and was told to upgrade to win2k ias9031
which should fix the dcmctl session killing problem.
So I did the ias9031 upgrade using the Patchset 3203016
IAS 9.0.3.1.0 PATCHSET FOR 9IAS 9.0.3.X 09-JAN-2004
and same dcmctl deploya/undeploya/redeploya, same problem. Major disaster.
Have you seen this problem? Do you know a fix?
The tar people asked me to send it an example so this is
what I did:
I package the Tomcat numguess jsp application into num.ear
save num.ear to c:\num.ear
cd ias903home\j2ee\OC4J_Demos\applications
copy jocdemo.ear bjocdemo.ear
..\..\..\dcm\bin\dcmctl deployapplication -a num -co OC4J_Demos -f c:\num.ear
run the app
http://machine/apps/num/
guess a numner 3 times and when you see
Good guess, but nope. Try lower. You have made 3 guesses.
undeploy an application:
..\..\..\dcm\bin\dcmctl undeployapplication -a jocdemo -co OC4J_Demos
Try another guess and you are back to
Good guess, but nope. Try lower. You have made 1 guesses.
You lost your session.
Have a look at
ias903home\j2ee\OC4J_Demos\application-deployments\num\OC4J_Demos_default_island_1\application.log
You can see the application num got bounced.

This seems to solve session killing problem when redeploying another application:
In default-web-site.xml, manually add shared="true" to all your apps:
e.g.
<web-app application="num" name="num-web" root="/apps/num" shared="true"/>
dcmctl updateconfig -co home
However, beware of dcmctl updateconfig which kills all sessions too.

I have also tried the fixes offered in this forum such as using the "Other" mail in setting up the gmail accounts, and not using the dedicated gmail setting. I also went to google and signed in and enable the additional devices. I had the same problems with the original account I set up for gmail, but it corrected when i went to using the "Other" instead of the Gmail button. I was able to set up the new gmail accounts on my iphone without problem and on my husband's ipad1 for his gmail account. Just the ipad 2 is giving me problems. Again, thanks for any suggestions.

Why subtle animation for phone calls (other apps do) on iOS 5 won't work on iPhone4?

So my problem is that each time im driving; perse using a GPS turn by turn app, and someone calls, iOS5 should have a subtle animation for calls right? well thats not for me, i still get that crappy push huge bubble which kills the app being used. I already tried going to setting-notifications-phone, and changed none/banners/alerts but nothing happens, still having the same problem!
Can someone come with a solution!?

How to kill the apps process?

Is my Yoga tab 2 1050F In this few weaks, after turn on the tab 2-3 hours, RAM has 500m onlyand cannot kill the apps process at all... WHY? If the process chain is running in background,
goto SM37
Give * in the jobname
Give the username who scheduled the process chain
Job status - check the check boxes - SCHED, relased, ready, active
click execute.
It displays all the process chains that, scheduled & running.
You can select the process chain that need to be stopped & click STOP active job or ctrl+F1.

same happens with other apps, like games when there's a limited internet access. Apps may try to load and the back button doesn't work in this case.

It's not that there's no response, cos I can switch apps and other apps respnd. It's just that a specific app hangs (or loads data or whatever) which takes too long for me to wait for and I'd like to kill it.
So the question is - if the phone is generally responsive but one app in the background needs to be killed, can I somehow do this not rebooting the whole device?
edit: just to add: the back button while hold get's me to the app list and I can switch apps and work with others.

Update config testsuite on 4.0.0_fixes branch to force kill the app server before running any tests when the app server is Tomcat. The regression runs were hanging on this branch when going to run the config suite because the Tomcat server isn't shutting down cleanly at the end of the MXUnit run. I believe this is an issue with the version of ActiveMQ we are using. Since I don't think we want to update ActiveMQ on this branch force killing the Tomcat server will workaround the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried this on another machine running the same version of Blackboard. It works fine.
Only difference is that the machine that has the JVM crash is running on Fujitsu PrimePower and the OS is Solaris 9 (but twigged for PrimePower).
The one where it runs and starts up successfully is running on SunFire (OS is Solaris 10).
I am wondering if there is a problem with the JVM loading required libraries because of the OS being different versions.
Any leads on this is welcomed. Thank you.

Why does Siri and bluetooth kill navigation apps?

I thought Siri was very cool until I tried to make a bluetooth call while driving and using naviagtion apps. Siri kills the app, has a hard time knowing what I want when I state it clearly, then does not resume the navigation app. Voice control doesn't kill the app and understands who I want to call MUCH better. I have since killed Siri and really dont miss it at all. Does anyone else have the same issues?

There are a couple of discussion threads about this problem but unfortunately at present there doesn't appear to be a fix. Siri is still in beta so it's possible a patch may come with an update. You may want to take a look at this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16433440#16433440. You may also consider contacting your provider for your in car Bluetooth system but as Siri is so new, a fix maybe some time away.

Skype n many other apps hang on iPhone 5.

With the new iPhone I am facing issues with many apps such as Skype. The apps hang in particular stage and if takes killing the app and restart again which makes the experience very annoying.

Try these:
1) Double-tap the home button and press an icon at the bottom until the minus sign appears. THen touch the minus sign on all the icons to kill the apps.
2) Then, press and hold the home and power buttons for 10 seconds, until the apple appears. Allow the ipad to restart.
If the problem persists, you may need to restore the ipad from within the computer's itunes program.

Killing Java app from C

Ive seen this question posted before, but never found a good answer. I am invoking a JVM from a legacy C app (via JNI_CreateJavaVM) and I want to be able to end the JVM and have the C app continue. The problem is that a call to System.exit() from inside the java app causes the entire native process (not just the JVM) to be killed. A call to DestroyJavaVM() does not unload the
JVM (as it claims it does in the API documentation).
Currently, the Java code calls dispose and System.gc (for good measure) on exiting, although this doesnt completely kill the java app. If the user wishes to invoke another Java app, the C code uses JNI_GetCreatedVMs to see if one already exists, and if so uses AttachThread (or GetEnv) to hook to the existing JVM to run the new Java app. The problem with this is with complicated GUI apps, the machine soon hits a wall, I guess because of un-gc'd stuff laying around.
Is there a way to kill the app from java without using System.exit or is there a way to unload the JVM from the C app?

Unfortunately I am running into the same issues using JDK1.4 on Win32. Basically the call to jvm->DestroyJavaVM() is NEVER returning. This seems to mainly be a problem when you use classes which require a native class loader to load native libraries. EX: classes which use System.loadLibrary("some native library"). Has anyone found a workaround to allow us to stop the jvm from the native side when these are present?
Also if anyone in interested - this is the exact c++ code I am currently using:

I installed a new printer and Acrobat Pro is not listing it as an option in the drop down box. Other apps are working. Printer is networked, platform is Windows.

I've rebooted numerous times, reloaded the software twice, spent 4 hrs on the phone with HP and 2 with Adobe. No luck. It simply doesn't show the new printer in the drop down menu for Pro or Reader and yet shows time in all in Office, Paint, Web options. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

App store reports "Pinball HD and 11 other apps cannot be purchased at this time"..... This occurs whenever I log into the app store. I have already purchased this app (and presumably the 11 others as well). I believe this started when it showed up as an app I should update (for free).
My wife and I share this iPad and we have apps purchased under two different store accounts on this machine. I have tried to log off and sign in with her account and then check updates but with either account I am told that all apps are up to date. All of our credit card info is current. Any clues?

This is an iPad 1 - I've had it since it first came out (ordered directly from Apple). Lots of apps and purchases over the years. My wife got her own WiFi only iPad shortly after mine as she fell in love with it and I don't share well. ;) This only started about 7-10 days ago. I did not update to iOs 5.1 until last night so this predates that. My concern is that when the iPad 3 arrives next Friday that this will transfer over.
Ever since my wife received her own iPad our purchases are pretty much separate.

AS I FOUND OUT LATE, LION DOES NOT SUPPORT ROSETTA, WHICH SUPPORTS QUICKEN AND CLASSIC AOL, AND MANY OTHER APPS. CAN I TAKE LION AWAY AND GO BACK TO SNOW LEOPARD?

I found out after the install of LION, that it does not support Rosetta, which runs Quicken and the classic AOL software and a myriad of other apps.
Can I go back to Snow Leopard? Is there a way to retrieve my thousands of saved E mails, which are saved on my Mac?
I still see the filing cabinet with my screen name but cannot get them to open.

I had the Apple store wiped out my hard drive and I restore my last hard drive downloard by first placing Snow leopard DVD in the DVD drive and holding "C" when turning on the machine then I follow the instructions. I am back on snow leopard and trying out two finance software to replace Quicken for mac 2007. I am trialing Quicken essentials and ibank. They are both compatable with LION. So when I am ready will download Lion again. Also, Micorsoft Office needs to be 2011 version for it to work on Lion
