Win2K - Infra Install - DB Config Asstn fails "write error"

I'm trying to install the 9iAS Release 2 infrastrukture on a 1.4 Ghz P4 with 1.5 gigabytes of ram and enough disk. The machine already has 9iR2 database on it.
It installs the software, but fails when it tries to run the database configuration assistant. The logfile is shown below, along with a full description of the command being run.
Win2K is very happy (nothing in the logs indicating disk errors), and the error is consistent through a number of attempts.
Did anybody see anything like this before?

Hi
Sorry, its a complete re-build for you!!
I Had similar problems with the oracle installs where config assistants using jrew located in c:\program files... would not run.
Usually this is not a problem as they can be run outside of the installer. It seems to be a problem installer 2.x on well used Windows installations. However, it does not seem that the issue can be worked round for the 9iAS R2 Infrastructure as some of the other config assistants run and create major authentication problems. A completely fresh install of W2K Sp2 seems to be the only answer.
Best of Luck

I need to add additional info about how to burn at lower speeds. You don't need to use a 3rd party burning application like Toast. You can use Disk Utility.
When you "Format" your DVD in DVDSP, select disk image from the available burners. Then open Disk Utility, select the image from the list on the left and click the BURN icon. After inserting your media, you can set the burn speed from the drop down menu in the burn dialog. Choose something lower than the maximum available in the list. For example, using the TDK media I have, 16x is the max but I choose 6x to make sure it will work.
This works with DVDSP 4 and MacOS X 10.4 Tiger. I'm not sure if older versions will work the same.

I have received the error code 87 when attempting to update Creative Cloud. I had previously received an update for Acrobat Pro (not the CC version), and the install failed. Now I cannot install any Adobe product. How do I resolve this issue? Rather important that there is not a long delay.

If you are on windows computer, Open Task manager by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys
Locate and end all Adobe related processes, like Creative Cloud, Core sync, AAM update notifier, Acrobat updater, AdobeArm, Acrotray, Adobe installer.

  • Installing Framework 3.5 fails with error code 0x800F081F - default solutions don't work

The installation of .NET framework 3.5 fails on Windows 10 Tech preview. I tried it using:
    1. = Programs and features - using Windows Update - results in error 0x800F081F
    2. = using the local media with DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs - it reports in de dism log that the feature NetFx3 is an unknown feature (with an elevated account)
    3. = changing the group policy (it is an AD connected system) using the steps as described in the following technet: dn482065
    4. = using the installer dotnetfx35.exe - it also brings up the 'programs and features' window with the same results as 1.
    Any ideas? Regards,

    Hi mv4neck,
Error code 0x800F081F means that we can’t find a source for the files we need to install the feature you’re requesting.
In you first way, you use Windows update to download related component files, so I suggest you run dism command to restore system health:
    Windows Update error 0x800F081F
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-8/windows-update-error-0x800f081f
Make sure you have good network condition.
    Here is my situation:
For your second way, based on my observation, there is no such component files in 9841 DVD\source\sxs folder.
    So this command wouldn’t work:
    DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs
In the meantime, by default, the install.wim doesn’t include NetFx3:

  • Labview 2009 install on windows 7 fails with error code 1935

    Hello all,
I have problems installing LV9 on my windows7 machine.
    It always ends with:
    Any ideas would be welcome.
    Thanks
    Albert

Since it is not simple to reinstall only .net framework on W7  (it is part of the operating system),
I checked the .net framework with the .NET FRAMEWORK VERIFICATION TOOL
    ( http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/pages/8999004.aspx.)
Verification succeeded for .net 2.0,3.0 and 3.5.
Since there are more problems on this pc. (1:windows update problems with strange errorcodes, 2:unable to turn windows features on/of)
i decided to rerun the W7 setup.
i selected the upgrade option , assuming this would update corrupted files, and it did.
After that LV9 installed without problems.

  • DIO Port Config & DIO Port Write Block Diagram Errors (Call Library Function Node:library not found or failed to load)

Hi Guys, need help on this.
I have this LabVIEW program that used to work on the old computer.
The old computer crashes most of the time, so I upgraded the computer
and used its Hard Drive as slave to the new computer.
I have no idea where are its installers since the guy that made the program
is not in my department anymore.
I downloaded all the drivers needed from NI: NIDAQ9.0, NIVISA,NI488.2,
and drivers of some instruments needed in the setup. I'm using LabVIEW8.2.
Everything's fine until I open the LabVIEW program for our testing.
    Here goes the error:
       DIO Port Config
       DIO Port Write
    Block Diagram Errors
Call Library Function Node: library not found or failed to load
    Attachments:
    ErrorList.JPG ‏200 KB

Honestly, I'm a newbie on Labview. I just want this old program to run on the new computer.
The guys that installed the drivers on the old computer are no longer here in my department.
And I have no idea where the drivers are. So I just downloaded the drivers needed for my hardware and instruments.
    Here's my hardware: (cards: PCI-DIO-96, PCI-GPIB), (instruments: SCB100,E4407B, HP83623, HP3458, HP8657)
    OS: Windows XP Pro
By the way, I have unzipped the TraditionalDAQ drivers. First I tried the 7.4.1, but installation error appeared.
I thought maybe the installer is corrupted, so I downloaded the 7.4.4 and unzipped it.
But, still same installation error appears. I don't understand, both TraditionalDAQ drivers have same installation error.
Now I have tried the DAQmx8.7.2 driver, bu still the DIO Port Config and DIO Port Write have errors.

  • Install and config issues with Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

For a while now I've been struggling with migrating a testing database to a newer version.
And right now I'm pretty much stuck at trying to configure Oracle Portal, Forms Reports and Discoverer
    What I've got:
    Windows server 2008 R2 64bit
    Oracle 11g database
    Java 6u27 64bit
JDK 1.6 64bit (using this after 1.7 ended up throwing out bugs while trying to start a weblogic server)
    JDK 1.7 64bit
Weblogic 10.3.5 (or so i think - I've installed from the wls1035_generic.jar from the oracle website)
PFRD 11.1.1.2 with 11.1.1.3 installed over it, installed without config
    and a hanging up configuration
Basically I've been trying to install PFRD (only forms, reports and enterprise manager from it actually) but it kept failing once it got to the configuration stage, so I installed without config, applied 11.1.1.3 and now trying to run the config manually with the good old \bin\config.bat
Result - the config froze for approx.18 hours then failed
There isn't much useful info I could deduct from the logs, mostly just says one or more configuration parts failed. At one place it mentions trying to set up a domain and starting up an adminserver for it - and apparently that's where it hangs up and finally times out and fails.
I'm a little clueless what to do about it as the logs don't say anything else of use I could understand. Any ideas there?

Trying the step by step, the only difference between that and what i do seems to be the file copying (which I can't do - there is no windows\extra\ directory anywhere, the files mentionned seem to already be on their places and either only there, or exactly the same) and clistering
So far the news ain't good - the config process hangs on creating domain ->Step Creating Domain started
It isn't frozen per se - the process doesn't use up any processor time, memory consumption within bounds, it reacts to button clicks and all..it just doesn't do anything concerning the said domain
the last thing the .out file shows:
Creating a new AdminServer Object ...

    Hi,
It is the problem in prasing the DTD of config.xml file
    It look like this
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <domain xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/920/domain" xmlns:sec="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-
    instance" xmlns:wls="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security/wls" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security/xacml http://www.bea.com/
    ns/weblogic/90/security/xacml.xsd http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security.xsd http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/92
    0/domain http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/920/domain.xsd http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security/wls http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/security/wls.xsd">
Please change your DTD to this lines and start the server.

  • Essbase Administration Console error "failed to create client directory to write error file"

I am getting the following error while trying to load data using EAS v11.1.2.3
"failed to create client directory to write error file"
Any known root cause for this.

Check the default error directory while loading data? The error file in 11.1.2.2 points to C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\eas\client, which is already on the system where EAS is installed.
If the folder is not there then it is a bug, however you can change it to an existing path.

Due to the above error, I can never enter the system and make any action on the system. Please advise what should I do. Otherwise, the whole system will be re-installed.
    Many thanks.

Boot your CD 1 of 2 into single user (b -s) and fsck /dev/rdsk/c0d0s0. Your root filesystem need's to be fsck'ed and you can't ( or you never should) fsck a mounted filesystem. Root is currently mounted write only.
At the "list of available boot devices" select the CDROM as the device from which to boot a Solaris kernel. At the screen where you are prompted to select 1, 2, or 3 for what type of install type you wish to do enter 'b -s' instead of a number.

  • Config Fetch Failed

The error message below is from a device that I am trying to sync a configuration, device is using TACACS:
    RUNNING
CM0151 PRIMARY RUNNING config fetch failed for ROUTER Cause: TELNET: Failed to establish a Telnet connection to
    X.X.X.X Cause connection refused.
SSH: Same message as aboove except authentication failed on device 3 times.
ACTION: Check if protocal is supported and required on device package is installed.

The error about authentication is usually correct.  Go to Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management, select the device in question, then export the credentials.  Look at the CSV export, and take the username and password, and try to SSH to the device from the LMS server.  Verify you can login and get into enable mode using the same credentials in DCR.

  • Configurator 4 Fail to Write error

I'm new to Configurator. I've created a new panel for Photoshop CS6. When I try to export it, I get a "Fail to Write" error. I think I've followed all the instructions. How do I discover the reason for the error?

On Windows 7 and later, the application cannot write to the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Plug-ins\Panels". But this is the default folder to export the panel.
    Solutions are:
    1. Select other directory, such as Documents or Desktop, and then copy the exported folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\Plug-ins\Panels".
    2. Run Configurator as administrator
    3. Export the panel by "File->Export Panel As Extension (ZXP file)", and then double click to install with Extension Manager.
