(Win8.1 Pro) Blue Screen of Death: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I'm getting intermittent BSODs, usually with the message "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". It doesn't appear to be tied to a specific activity - sometimes it will happen when I'm not at the computer. I tried doing a Memory Diagnostic test and it found
no errors. As per one of the suggestions on the forum here, I tried running the Driver Verifier process, but then it couldn't boot into Windows at all (had to go in in safe mode and reset the verifier). A couple of weeks ago, I had a few BSODs with the message
"DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION" though that appears not to have happened for a while.
Any help would be appreciated - I'm sort of out of my depth here. DMP and Sysinfo Link below..

Hi,
We have a ton of crash dumps here, and I went through what I can.
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a)
This indicates that a severe memory management error occurred.
BugCheck 1A, {41287, 61d00125f640, 0, 0}
The 1st parameter of the bug check is 41287 which indicates an illegal page fault occurred while holding working set synchronization.
DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (133)
This bug check indicates that the DPC watchdog executed, either because it detected a single long-running deferred procedure call (DPC), or because the system spent a prolonged time at an interrupt request level (IRQL) of DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
I need a kernel-dump to debug this type of bug check.
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.
This bug check is issued if paged memory (or invalid memory) is accessed when the IRQL is too high. The error that generates this bug check usually occurs after the installation of a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS.

nt!MiReplenishPageSlist calls a pagefault, and prior to this we have various memory related routines as well.
This looks like faulty RAM to me, so please go ahead and start by running Memtest for NO LESS than ~8 passes (several hours):
Memtest86+:
Download Memtest86+ here:
http://www.memtest.org/
Which should I download?
You can either download the pre-compiled ISO that you would burn to a CD and then boot from the CD, or you can download the auto-installer for the USB key. What this will do is format your USB drive, make it a bootable device, and then install the necessary
files. Both do the same job, it's just up to you which you choose, or which you have available (whether it's CD or USB).
Do note that some older generation motherboards do not support USB-based booting, therefore your only option is CD (or Floppy if you really wanted to).
How Memtest works:
Memtest86 writes a series of test patterns to most memory addresses, reads back the data written, and compares it for errors.
The default pass does 9 different tests, varying in access patterns and test data. A tenth test, bit fade, is selectable from the menu. It writes all memory with zeroes, then sleeps for 90 minutes before checking to see if bits have changed (perhaps because
of refresh problems). This is repeated with all ones for a total time of 3 hours per pass.
Many chipsets can report RAM speeds and timings via SPD (Serial Presence Detect) or EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles), and some even support changing the expected memory speed. If the expected memory speed is overclocked, Memtest86 can test that memory performance
is error-free with these faster settings.
Some hardware is able to report the "PAT status" (PAT: enabled or PAT: disabled). This is a reference to Intel Performance acceleration technology; there may be BIOS settings which affect this aspect of memory timing.
This information, if available to the program, can be displayed via a menu option.
Any other questions, they can most likely be answered by reading this great guide here:

  • Brand new macbook pro - blue screen of death?

I received my 15" macbook pro in the mail only 10 days ago.  I noticed that it seemed a little bit slow every once in a while.  Today I ran software update.  As it began the process of the auto-reboot, it got stuck on the purpley-spacey-image with a pinwheel for WAY longer than it should have.  It became apparent that it wasn't going anywhere.
I then did a hard power-off, and a safe re-boot.  After the progress bar completed, it moved to the dreaded blue screen.  The rotating gear would appear, then disappear with a changing of shade on the blue screen.  Again, I waited WAY too long.  It again became apparent that it was going no where.  Hard power-off, safe-reboot.  Same problem.  Hard power-off, normal boot.  Same problem, but this time with no gear.  What should I do?  I'm stuck on the blue screen.
I've not installed hardly any software - dropbox and prey are the only two I can think of.  I'm using Snow Leopard, not Windows.
Thank you very much for your help,
    Dave

OK! For the benefit of anyone else who has this problem I have solved it. I downloaded the latest driver from the Marvell Yukon website (http://www.marvell.com) but went for the 88E8053 driver - picked that up from a blog elsewhere talking about Win XP 64 bit installs - then uninstalled the Ethernet card driver from Device Manager and restarted. When XP rebooted it automatically found the new hardware and apparently reinstalled the driver (not sure if it was from the drivers it already had or from my download) and now it doesn't crash when enabled. Happy Times!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this saves someone the several hours I've just wasted...

  • WiFi Wireless Setup Wizard produces Blue Screen of Death on Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

The wireless setup wizard on my Officejet Pro 8600 Plus is failing immediately after "scanning for networks". I get a blue screen of death with error message B8494B00, followed by "turn printer on and off" with flashing screen.
I bought the printer about one month ago and it has worked perfectly so far. My Apple Time Capsule failed yesterday, so I bought a new one (latest model) and had to set up the wireless network again. When I tried to do so on the printer, I got the error for the first time. Nothing else had changed. Other devices are working with no problems on the new network. The computer is an Apple iMac running OS Mountain Lion.
I have tried turning the printer on and off, disconnecting the power and reconnecting, then turning it on again, but no result. I have restored the wireless to factory settings, but no difference.
    Please help.

Right off I have to tell you I do not "speak Mac".
I assume the "Apple Time Capsule" is a name for a network router?  A syncing device?
    Unless I am mistaken:
You do not need the Wizard to set up the network -- it is pretty software for an HP PC; when it works, it can make things easier.  The setup Wizard is not necessary for the process.  I should think this is true for the Mac.
    =====================================================================================
If you cannot get someone from the Printing group to answer your specific concern,
you may have succes with the following:
The User Guide has pretty good detail on how to set up the networking necessary to get the printer connected to either a PC or Mac environment.  Assuming you can get the printer to "Reset network settings" (User Guide, page 222), then you can re-enter the information you require manually.  It is a bit tedious, but is may work better than fighting the Wizard.
    OfficeJet Pro 8600 User Guide
You may be able to circumvent sone or all of this by reinstalling the Full Feature Software for your printer -- that assumes you are first able to "reset network settings", at least, and get a printout test page to verify that the reset actually worked.

  • Macbook pro keeps freezing or blue screen of death

I got my mackbook pro in april, all rammed up etc.I bought this laptop just to play poker on.Poker programs only work with windows[but knew about bootcamp,i'm running XP on it].The problems i'm having ,is that, once a day at least it shuts down itself[and cant tell me the driver problem blue screen of death] or secondly just freezes and then i have to power it off for it to work again.
I have took it to genius bar, which couldnt help[they said it was on windows so nothing to do with them, just reinstall windows again,GREAT HELP}.
Been to 2 diffrent computer repair shops, and none of them have been able to fix this problem.
Anyone help,as its costing me a fortune, and still not working.
    thanks in advance

Hey, I recommend backing up all your files manually via USB hardrive and then format your mac's hardrive, here's a link for instructions on how to format your mac's hdd: http://computers.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-format-your-macs-hard-drive--mac- 53986
Also I recommend downloading the latest Mac OS X via the app store. The reason why I've recommended to back up all your files and programs manually and install a clean and new os is because when you put your data on manually, you significantly reduce the chances of the problem happening again and it looks like you have something inside your os that's slowing everything down. You'll also have the latest updates and support if you download the latest mac os x. You should also back up your Mac via time machine as well so you have a image of your OS. I recommend installing a SSD drive inside your MacBook as they make a huge difference in performance, your computer will preform almost instantly, it only takes 7 seconds for your mac to boot into the os and everything else you do is pretty much instantly. They can be a little expensive but they're coming down in price and they're with it! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CT480M500SSD1-2-5-inch-480GB-Internal/dp/B00BQ8R HJ2
I've had the same problem before and I hope that helps.
    Good luck

  • Portege R835-P81 Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) Displays Repeatedly

    Hi all:
I brought my Portege 1 months ago and it has been working very well until last night, while running normally, the Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) keeping display repeatedly.
Symptom: whenever my Portege is turned on, after running for about 10-15 min, BSoD will be displayed (firstly the following error code is shown: *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x4F9D2424, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x8BCC6EE6) ... if trying restarted, the BSoD will be appeared during booting process with other error codes .
Another thing that I noticed: if I leave my Portege for a while (let it cool down) and turn it on, it could be run for around 15min and the above symptom occurs.
Fact: my Portege running Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit), installed common apps like Adobe Reader, MS Office Pro 2010, CutePDF, 7zip, K-Lite Codec ... got the latest update files from Microsoft.
I also tried to run the HDD Recovery option in Toshiba Boot Manager, the Hard Driver Recovery process is halted at the Starting Windows screen ...
Does anybody have any experience and advices about this? Pls share with me
    Many thanks

    Portege R835-P81
    Bug Check 0xA: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Since the machine is almost brand new, it should run properly.
In case the problem is due to software you installed, you should restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media just once before returning it. See the section Recovering the Internal Storage Drive, which begins on p. 63 of the User's Guide.

  • Blue screen of death on Toshiba P755-S5375 with ADOBE ENCORE CS6

I recently purchased a new laptop and installed Adobe Master Collection CS6.  I purchased the laptop for video capture and editing, as well as for blu-ray authoring.
Unfortunately, although the computer and software works fine for video capture and editing, I am unable to author a blu-ray.  For authoring, I am using Adobe’s Encore CS6.  After checking and previewing my creation, I attempt to build to disc using Encore.  About 2 seconds after clicking the build disc in Encore, I get the “blue screen of death” (BSOD).  This happens every time I try to build to blu-ray (only blu-ray has this issue; I am able to build to a DVD).  I am using an external blu-ray drive on USB 3.0.
I am using Encore version 6.0.0.492

We need to know the Stop code on the blue screen. If there is a file name mentioned, we want that too.
You can prevent the rapid disappearance of the blue screen during a normal boot by choosing this at the F8 Startup menu.

  • Why is Encore 6.0 giving me the "blue screen of death" when I try to create a menu?

When I purchased my student edition 6.0 (which I love by the way), Encore did not have any of the libraries loaded up on it. After reading some discussions, I downloaded the missing folders.
Now, when I try to create a menu, my computer shuts down and gives me "the blue screen of death" as they call it (a blue screen with white writting, counting up to 100%, and saying Windows is preparing to crash...or something about the hard drive crashing....I can't remember because it goes off the screen so quickly).
I've done this several times - my computer only does this when I try to create a menu in encore, and not in any other part of encore. It hasn't happened in any of the other programs either (Premiere Pro and Audition are the only other programs I have used so far), or any other times I have my laptop.
Because of this, I am not too concerned since it seems Encore is the problem. However, I do not want any other problems to escalade from this either.
Am I doing something wrong? Can someone please help me? I'm working on my Senior Thesis (a video) this year, and I really really cannot afford to have my computer crash on me.
    Please and thank you,
    Meghin

  • Blue screen of death when building blu-ray in Encore CS6

Here are the blu-ray drive specs:

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

  • Blue screen of Death on Satellite M100

    Hi
I have Satellite M100, we were having problems with the Blue screen of death occasionally, and then it seemed to get fairly consistent and the only way to ensure that the system didn't crash was to boot it in safe mode.
The sound had also stopped working. Decided to restore the system to factory settings so used the disc supplied and all went well till the system booted into windows allows you to go through the setup then blue screen again. The sound seems to have returned although it is a bit crackly.
So not sure whether this is the problem or not. Crashes Fatal system error and also driver_irql_not_less_or_equal.
Now can't boot into safe mode as windows setup hasn't finished....
    Any ideas anyone?
    Cheers
    Simon

    Hi
Yeah that;s what I am frightened of, tried several times no joy tried a normal xp pro disk as well as thought that might not have the right drivers and it might work but same there so guess it's a trip to the Toshiba hospital..... problem is guess everything is on the motherboard so by the time you have paid for a service call and motherboard you still have a 3 year old computer the figures don't add up and a new one would be the better option.....
    Cheers

  • Ipod + itunes = blue screen of death & reboot - HELP PLEASE!

I'll try to make a long story as short as possible here.
i've had a 40G ipod for over a year and a half now. back in the beginning things were working fine. with the size i hadn't done any syncing for a long long time. however, the ipod crapped out so i got a replacement from the apple store.
after registering the new ipod i was having trouble syncing. it would upload a few hundred songs and then freeze or cause a reboot. i uninstalled the ipod software as well, installed the latest itunes software - over the previous version, installed the latest ipod updater software and restored the ipod.
again, i was able to sync for brief periods in 3 different tries - amassing a whole six hundred and something songs. after each try itunes said syncing was complete (but not even close - had just over 2000 mp3s looking to sync up). unbelievably things got worse. now, if the ipod is docked and itunes is running - regardless of which is done first - my pc will get the blue screen of death and reboot itself.
also, without itunes and the ipod docked, it shows up as an i: drive, but when i try to browse it though my computer, it locks up the machine and shows nothing.
any help out there is GREATLY appreciated!
    here are my specs:
    - ipod 40 Gig, with click wheel and four buttons below the screen with
    dock & firewire cable
    - pc running windows xp pro
    - firewire card with 3 ports
    - ipod & itunes software located on 120G c: drive
    - mp3 collection located on secondary 160G d: drive
    - 3/4 gig of ram
p.s. i have mcafee running and i've tried everything with it on as well as off. doesn't seem to make a difference.
also, i have checked a TON of posts on apple.com as well as other discussion groups and couldn't find an answer.

    hi Douglas!
first promise me that you'll back up your data. having your PC shut down in non-standard ways (for
    b any
reason) increases your risk of file corruption and putting scruffy spots on your hard drive.
Now some basic first aid. download some fresh definitions and do some vigorous virus and spyware scans. run your favorite hard-disk checking utility. do a disk cleanup.
now let's follow up on the blue screen of death. Perversely, i've started to become pleased when people report BSODs under these circumstances. we can wring a lot of information from a BSOD error message. there's also usually something concrete to go on in the error logs.
    (1) what BSOD error number and message are you getting? here's a reference:
    http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
    (2) squeeze your error logs for all they're worth. right-click on "My Computer", select manage. click on your event viewer. click on your application and system logs, and look for errors and warnings happening at roughly the same time as your crashes.
click on the relevant warnings to see if you can find any commonalities in the errors/warnings. follow up the Help and Support links to see if you can find any suggested "User action" or relevant MS KB documents. (sometimes these things are there, sometimes they aren't.)
    good luck! keep us posted.
    love, b

  • Windows Blue Screen of Death

I keep getting the Blue Screen of Death when I am booted in Bootcamp.  Everything appears to boot fine.   I can load applications, but then shortly after using the Windows partition the Blue Screen of Death appears.  I have a MacBook Pro with retina display.  16GB RAM.  The Windows partition has 40GB dedicated to it.  Running Windows 7.  Everything was working fine last week.  I installed some new programs on the Mac Side. I also run Parallels sometimes.

I was able to fix this by restoring to a previous backup of the machine.  It must have been a bad driver.

  • Blue Screen Of Death on iPhone plugin: NOT caused by Logitech or HP

    Hi,
Like many posters who have posted throughout 2009, my Windows XP computer crashes consistently every time I plug in my new iPhone. I am currently totally unable to use iTunes to connect to the iPhone.
I have spent more than 8 hours trying ALL the causes listed on Apple's website. It is NOT those. I do not have a Logitech Camera or an HP Scanner or anything else listed there. Below you can see a complete list of what I have and what I have tried.
It is very clear from other posts that Apple's usbaapl.sys driver still has bugs/conflicts that Apple has not yet identified. Let's get to work figuring out what the problem is!
I would appreciate any suggestions or pointers from other members, but please do review the details below before you post.
I am technical and would be happy to provide further info or try suggested registry changes, drivers, etc.
    Details:
Every time I plug in my iPhone 3G, my Windows XP Desktop computer Blue-Screens in the Apple-provided usbaapl.sys driver (which is installed by the iTunes Apple Mobile Device Support installer component) within seconds, whilst Windows Plug and Play is loading the "Apple Mobile Devices" driver. Windows plug-and-play never makes it to the "imaging device" device. It crashes within 0-5 seconds of plugging in the device.
The same iPhone can successfully work with iTunes on my friend's Windows XP system, so the problem is not with my iPhone; it is with the Apple iTunes software.
There is some problem with interaction between iTunes on my Windows XP computer and my iPhone.
I have iTunes 8.2.1.6 with Windows XP sp3.
I have already tried ALL of the suggestions at:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2280
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
    In particular
    - I do not have a Logitech camera, either built-in or plug-in.
    - I unplugged AND uninstalled all the drivers for
    - my printer (which is a Canon i560)
    - my scanner (which is Canon CanoScan LIDE 25)
    - my USB hub/card reader (IOGEAR GUH284R)
    - my webcam (Creative Webcam Pro)
    - I actually unplugged ALL USB devices first, including the mouse and the USB hub, rebooted, and it still blue-screens when plugging in the iPhone directly to the computer's USB port.
    - I used to have an HP PrecisionScan Pro, and so I also uninstalled all drivers for all old hardware (not just the HP scanner), and rebooted. Still blue-screens when plugging in the iPhone.
    - I have tried all USB ports of the computer, including directly plugging into them without any USB hub. Still blue-screens.
    - I completely uninstalled iTunes, QuickTime, and Apple Mobile Device Support, rebooted, verified that usbaaap.sys was gone from system32/drivers, then reinstalled iTunes 8.2.1.6 -- still blue-screens
    - When I re-installed iTunes, I had disabled my computer's firewall and anti-virus as an Apple tech had suggested, but this didn't help -- still blue-screens.
    - I also tried the hack, suggested on the internet, of installing Apple Mobile Device Support from iTunes 7.7.1 on top of iTunes/QuickTime version 8.2.1.6. I verified that I was in fact getting a different usbaapl.sys but -- still blue screens.
    - I verified that if I delete the usbaapl.sys driver, plugging in the iPhone does not blue-screen (though of course I cannot use it either). The blue screen of death that appears also contains the word usbaapl.sys. The crash is definitely in that driver. I understand that Apple and Logitech say the "real problem" is in another driver, but as mentioned above, I have eliminated everything on the list in Apple's support suggestion, and I still blue-screen. I even blue-screen with Apple's version 7.7.1 usbaapl.sys driver.
    - I verified that my PC has the latest chipset drivers and USB 2.0 drivers. My PC has a 2.8 GHz P4 processor with an ABIT BD7II-RAID motherboard. It has an Intel 845E chipset with Intel 82801DB (ICH4) I/O USB controller. I have never had any other problems like this with any other USB device on this computer. My problem is unique to iPhone.
    - I saw on the internet that in 2007 there was an iTunes blue-screen crash that resulted if the iPhone had any Photos on it. So I deleted all the photos on my iPhone. Still blue-screens.

    lsemprini wrote:
Yes, as mentioned in the OP, it says usbaapl.sys on the blue screen, and removing the driver avoids the bluescreen (but of course also prevents the iPhone from working with iTunes). Interestingly, when removing the usbaapl.sys driver, the imaging side of the device actually works with my computer (i.e., I can get the Photos stored, which comes via an alternate driver interface). The problem is REALLY isolated just to the Apple iTunes interlink code in usbaapl.sys.
I'd like to emphasize and clarify this point a little more as I think it may be the key symptom for separating my problem (and that of other posters, I'd imagine) from the "standard Logitech conflict" problem:
With the bug I am reporting, I plug in the iPhone, and Windows pops up a plug-and-play bubble for "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver," which is usbaapl.sys (you can verify this with 100% certainty by searching for usbaapl in regedit). The blue screen occurs for me during this phase (sometimes an instant after the bubble pops up)!
If I disable usbaapl.sys by removing the driver, Windows gets past "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" (happily failing to report any error even though it has not loaded the driver, sigh) and goes on to an "imaging" device (I think it might have said "iPhone camera" or "Imaging Device;" I can check again if it's important), which succeeds to load, and I can access pictures stored on the iPhone using the standard Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard tool, which I think uses the WIA API.
So my bug differs from the "standard Logitech conflict" in that it has NO relation to whether or not I have Photos on the iPhone, and if I disable the buggy usbaapl.sys driver, I AM able to access photos on the PC.
In most of the bug reports I saw for the "standard Logitech conflict" problem, users only experienced crashes when the camera had one or more Photos on it, and it appears (though other bug reports are not clear) that the system crashes just after Windows attempts to load the "imaging" driver for the iPhone. My guess is that those users got through "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" with no problem and crashed on the "imaging" driver.
Can someone at apple please post an engineering bug on this issue?
That way we can get a list of technical questions from the engineers that need answering so that we can really stomp this bug for good. I can also volunteer to try out debugging versions of the drivers and collect log files, if needed. I am a systems software engr with Windoze experience so I can probably help expedite the debugging process.
I want to get this fixed and I'm sure many posters do also!

  • Qosmio x775-3dv80 Blu Ray/DVD burning gets Blue Screen of Death.

    I just got a new Qosmio X775 3DV80 laptop.
Tried to burn a Blu Ray movie with DVDfab 8. The process went through all the way till the very end and then I get a blue screen of death every single time. the brief error says IRQ problem. burning DVD gets the same.
a friend as a same model laptop. tried on his with the same result.
So it's not my particular machine!
i installed a copy of Windows 7 Pro on the sencond HD. burning either DVD or Blu Ray with no problem.
it suggests there's a glitch with combo of the original Windows 7 and the Blu Ray drive.
i have not contacted Tosh yet.
    Anyone else experience the same???

Peter, thanks for your suggestions. I tried so and didn’t work either however. I compared the drivers for the blu ray disk between the preinstalled Windows 7 version and my Windows 7 Pro (works as my first post). The only difference is the former has two drivers: (1) cdrom.sys, and (2) tdcmdpst.sys. (the Windows 7 Pro has only one : cdrom.sys). It seems this model shares the a common problem, but not enough users with the app combo to stir up some waves… Additionally: Between my first post and this one, the screen acted up. It would go black and came back in 2 sec with full brightness. The current app would freeze and brightness control function stopped working. Happened in random and a few times within an hour. Got a replacement from Amazon where I bought it (same blue screen problem on this one, too). Two weeks or so later, the 3D function went out on the new one. Today, the wireless function went south… am I "lucky" or crap on Tosh’s side?

  • Bootcamp Windows 7 Blue Screen of Death on MBPwR

Hello all, I've never needed to use this before but gosh darn it I need some advice, because I can't figure this out...
I'd rate myself a 9 out of 10 in "Windows PC" experience
And maybe a 6 out of 10 with Macs, I'm still new!
I just bought the new Mac Book Pro with Retina Screen in early July, I can't remember the exact date. But it hasn't been thirty days yet, so if you think that's my best bet to try and get an exchange here, let me know.
    MC975LL/A
PROBLEM : Mac OSX Lion 10.7 works wonderfully, not a problem in the world, smooth as butter – the issue is Windows. I like to play some games and OSX doesn't play well with some Windows based games so I always install it on Bootcamp. Well, this has been a neverending issue on my new MBPwR because I can't seem to get it to work correctly.
          1. Here's how it started - I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 through Bootcamp, via my Superdrive and it ran well for a week or so. After installing a game and some other software (Steam) please take that as a coincidence as I did, I don't think Steam had anything to do with the crash, more likely it was something 'game' related, HDD, RAM, CPU, GPU? The computer started to get the "Blue Screen of Death" that Windows computers get, specifically: page_fault_in_nonpaged_area, I've never seen it before and I've owned a number of Windows computers over the years!
         2. Is this my fault, or something deeper? - I can't figure it out, is this a hardware problem or a software one? I reinstalled Windows 7 yesterday and attempted to try again. Just a chance my installation was messed or something, well it happened literally after five minutes of booting into Windows 7. After it happened the first time I used a memory check and a hard drive check software and both came up flawless. Some online on other boards although Windows based have suggested this error can be caused by the RAM and the CPU or the GPU, even... Is this true? As there is no way to test it, maybe exchanging this computer is the best option?
        3. As as a side note... - Has anyone else had a crawling slow boot into Windows 7? It takes my MBPwR almost five minutes of a top left-hand blinking cursor to actually boot to Windows 7.
So did I have some really, really bad luck here with a new computer? Or is this somehow software related? I can answer any questions if you have them so we can try and figure this out!
    Thanks!

Did the Nvidia driver install okay? Some users had to reinsall just the driver from Apple Windows Software Support.
Did Windows DVD not find anything wrong?
Is Windows set to be default boot OS in the control panel for selecting the boot volume?
There probably is a leaning curve and bleeding edge sortof with any new logicboard and setup.
Apple has issued a firmware upgrade for some models - I thought Retina - the MacBook Air has a serious problem under Windows.
Mac will run hotter under Windows. Maybe an error message.
