  • What best adobe programs to (design) and (create) animated gif or image ?

    Hello,
    first thank you very much for helping me,
    i am about creating an animated gif like the background you can see in war craft 3 frozen throne for a game,
    i have to design it first with high quality so i need to know best adobe programs can do that, although i need to know the easiest, so i need to know both of them the best and the easiest so if didn't made it with the best i can made it with the easiest pro, and please put in mind that i need a program to design the image from nothing so i will draw it or design it i don't know depending on the program it self but i will not use it for editing or use an image already there, i need an elite pro that allow to create the image from nothing.
    after that i need to create an animated gif for the image (gif not good for high quality images so if you know better please tell),
    for example "Her hair moves with the moving wind" so i need to move it, i don't know how so i need a program to make it move too.
    last thing at the end i need the file type be accepted in html(5) adobe games programs like flash builder or flash pro for example, i know flash pro can animate it but will not design it, thank you again.

    It may require a few different apps.  Clearly the number one app is you and your ability to conceptualize.  And, it depends on what type of animation you ultimately want produced.  Game graphics is a lot different than a web banner animated .gif.  I'm thinking Illustrator, Photoshop, Edge Animate, and After Effects.

    Hi
    I have found the answer on this link

  • PSE 6 for Mac  GIF animation

    i am having trouble creating an animated .gif. i follow the instructions, but, ultimately, i wind up with the "save for web" screen showing the same image in both sides of the preview window, one the original jpeg, and the other the uncompressed gif. i layer the individual frames prior to choosing "save for web" by dragging one image from the palette well onto another in the workspace. the layer i dragged from the well becomes "layer 1" and the image i dragged into is now the background.
    i cannot seem to have the images i wish to display consecutively shown in the "save for web" area. although i can only see one image, doubled in the preview screen, i am told that this file sze is too large to animate, anyway...which would be pointless, since there is only a single image, as both a jpeg (left) and a gif (right). what have i missed?
    thank you
    Photoshop Elements 6 for intel Mac

    i have tried perhaps all combinations in the option section of the preview window. there is the "preset", allowing gif 128/64/32 both dithered and not, and below that the option for gif/jpeg/png and below that the perceptual/selective/adaptive restrictive bar.
    again, one i have chosen to modify any setting, the "animation" option becomes unavailable. i had the image scaled down to 10 percent and still received the "file too large" warning.
    thank you for your help. i have to leave now. i am going to go and smash things.
    here is my last group of settings before the frustration proved to be too much
    Preset>gif 64 no dither
    file gif
    selective
    image size 282x211 pixels, at a gif file size of 18.34K
    i know there is something simple or obvious i have missed, and i am beginning to suspect it may be in the animation assembly process. whatever it is, it has not yet occurred to me.
    thanks again.

  • How to diagnose flickering exported JS animations from Flash CC?

    Quick stats on my system:
    Macbook Pro Retina 2012 running OSX 10.9.3
    Flash CC 13.1.0.226
    I'm not experiencing an error so much as a lack of understanding about how to diagnose Flash CC JS export issues. Here's the backstory:
    In 2012, my company started working with an contract sprite artist. I was using the CS5.5 Creative Suite, and we were exporting normal png sequences from Flash for use in the game. After about 8 months, my cofounders and I realized that we could both reduce the load time for the game and also allow our artwork to be dynamically scalable by switching to JS exports of our art rather than the raster sprite sheets. Here's the blog post we wrote about it: http://blog.codecombat.com/hacking-our-way-to-vector-artwork-in-html5
    At the time, I didn't have Flash CC, and was reliant upon the CreateJS plugin to export the required JS files: CreateJS Developer Center | Adobe Developer Connection After another month or so, our contractor upgraded their version of Flash and we started having compatibility issues reading FLA files, so I upgraded as well. After doing some reading, I concluded that the CreateJS plugin was now incorporated into Flash CC as the HTML5 doc type, which was confirmed when I checked out the publish settings and resulting files.
    This is all a rather long winded way of saying that we have legacy artwork created with an older version of Flash but are now importing all of our artwork from JS files.
    Fast forward to today and we have two big issues:
    1) We can't figure out how to reduce the filesize of JS exports. As discussed in our blog post, vector artwork has upsides and downsides. One of the downsides we've found is that complex art that uses a lot of shapes ends up being substantially larger (in terms of filesize) than the appearance might otherwise suggest. Raster exports skirt this because a pixel is a pixel, but vector exports scale with the complexity of the source FLA. I'm not a Flash expert, and when we get files that are particularly complex, Flash either runs out of memory exporting them to JS files or we get files that are far too large to reasonably use. To be clear, the "out of memory" error isn't a problem because even if Flash finished the export, the resulting files would be too large for us to use (plus, I've done some digging and found a tutorial for correcting the out of memory error). Our artist is not familiar with the intricacies of the JS Flash exporter, so when we get a file that's too big or breaks the export, neither of us can really figure out a way to correct the problem. We have three questions in particular:
         a) Where can you view shape data that Flash is going to write to the JS files?
         b) Is there any way to edit said shape data inside the Flash CC interface?
         c) Is there any way to optimize shape data in Flash? For instance, in Photoshop, you can flatten images and export a psd with 500 layers as a single JPEG, is there any way to do something similar to shape data in Flash?
    2) Exports frequently break in weird ways. Many of the sprites that we created a year ago haven't needed to be re-imported into our game engine for some time. But every once in a while, I need to go back and fix, improve, or tweak an existing sprite, and then I run smack into the issue of reconciling files that were created without thought to JS exports with our current system. Just last week I was running into this issue in a big way and I made a screencast for our artist (since we work remotely) that I hoped might give him a better idea of the problem: Flash Errors - Treasure Chest, Flippable Tile - YouTube
    The two files mentioned in that screencast are both old (treasure chest) and new (flippable land tile). We have a few questions:
         a) Why are the treasure chest frames "flickering" in the html5 preview? The problem doesn't appear inside Flash and is inconsistent between files. There are two FLA files: one in which the treasure chest is empty, and one in which it's full. The empty animation doesn't throw any errors, either when converting to the HTML5 doc type or on export, but the resulting animation flickers. The full treasure, on the other hand gives me 21 lines of these errors when I do the conversion (not when I export): "Blend Modes(Layer) is not supported in HTML5 Canvas document, and has been converted to Normal in an instance of Movieclip <Path>." The result in both cases is the same: the animations flicker, and neither our artist nor us can figure out why, or for that matter, even begin to troubleshoot it. This SO issue seems to describe the problem, but was never resolved, and I can't find anything else that seems to address it: CreateJS Publish of Flash Project Flickers - Stack Overflow
    I've uploaded the files involved to a public dropbox folder which I think you'll be able to access (Dropbox seems to be having some problems at the moment): Dropbox - flash_debugging
    Since my questions are fairly involved, and my goal is to gain a better understanding of the UI, not simply resolve an error, I'd be happy to pay for someone's expertise/time in getting me up to speed. You can get in touch with me at george [at] codecombat.com

    Hi George,
    I have taken a look at the files full_treasure_chest.fla and flippable_land.fla that you have shared via drop box and found that they both uses blank keyframe(s) followed by Keyframe(s). This was an issue and has been addressed in the latest release Flash CC 2014 (released on 18 June, 2014). Can you please install the latest build 14.0.0.110 and try this out?
    Thanks!

  • How to insert animation before and after this animation template??

    I'm using the file from the online template below, but am going to replace the flag with a man's tie that's going to be "flapping in the wind" momentarily.
    BUT I need to add a small amount of animation before this "flapping" animation begins, as well as after it, and I only want the flapping to last about 1.5 seconds or so - not continually looping.
    http://www.senocular.com/flash/source.php?id=0.188
    I don't know how to even begin to add the animation I need before/after, and to edit the time down on the looping. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

    change the flag to your tie and change the onEnterFrame loop:
    use
    loopI = setInterval(loopF,40);
    to start the waving and use:
    clearInterval(loopI);
    to stop the waving.
    function loopF(){
        // move the matrix by speed along x to shift the noise
        shift.translate(speed, 0);
        // drawing in the perlin movie clip,
        // create a rectangle with the perlin noise
        // drawn in it with an offset supplied by the
        // shift matrix
        with (displace_mc.perlin){
            clear();
            beginBitmapFill(noiseBitmap, shift);
            moveTo(0,0);
            lineTo(ramp._width, 0);
            lineTo(ramp._width, ramp._height);
            lineTo(0, ramp._height);
            lineTo(0, 0);
            endFill();
        // draw the displacement movie clip in the
        // displaceBitmap (used in displaceFilter)

  • Jumpy, choppy animation (imported from Illustrator)

    Hello, I am having a problem with some vines I imported from illustrator having very choppy animation. Every other animation in my project thus far has been smooth, except for the vines which I just want to move slowly and slightly as if blowing in the wind. I did the same effect for some leaves in the background which animate fine, so its something to do with the vines in particular.
    I imported all the shapes from Illustrator (the vine shafts, leaves, and thorns) which came into flash as "drawing objects". I then turned every piece into individual movie clips, and then combined everything further into 4 seperate movie clips I could animate. The animation is very simple, just rotating back and forth ever so slightly accrost 250 frames.
    I uploaded the .swf in question which you can download here: http://www.filedropper.com/splashscreen10
    I appreciate any and all help! Thanks!

    From the sound of it, I'm having this exact same problem. Does anyone have suggestions for how to solve this problem?

  • Can I use adobe presenter to make a flipbook animation

    Hello,
    Is it possible to utilize Adobe presenter features to make a flipbook animation?  My goal is to make a short video to be displayed onto an Adobe presenter presentation that features a book which stops at certain pages of the book after having the animation that it is flipping through the pages.  Please advise.
    Thank you in advance

    If I understand your question correctly then I would say no..... then think about it and then answer .... yes. The reason why I say no is because it is not Presenter per-say that creates the animations. Presenter is merely a tool that creates a housing for the animation that will be created in another program like Power Point or Flash. I said yes because Presenter makes it easy for one to import swf files into Presenter/Power Point.
    Me personally I would create the animation in Flash and then import it into Presenter.
    Then I would only import it into Presenter if it was part of a Power Point presentation. I would rather publish it directly from Flash.
    If however money if a problem and you do not have Flash or you need to do it in Power Point I am sure you will be able to do it (I do think that it will be a little more difficult and you would not be able to attain the same standard as you would in Flash).
    I know that this might be long winded but Presenter in itself will not be able to do what you want you will have to use an animation program like Power Point or Flash to accomplish this.
    Good Luck

  • Creating animation of river with speed control

    As part of a demo, I need to build animation of a river with ability to change the speed of current based on user specified parameter- am quite new to Illustrator.
    One thought was to have two layers- layer 1 that forms the base and layer 2 with a high alpha which would move on top of layer 1- am still struggling on how to build this out in terms of gradients and ripples. Is there a tuorial/ sample that I could look at
    Thanks again for any pointers/ guidance...

    Much depends on the specific artwork style and point of view you have in mind. That's the nature of all "how do I draw a..." questions, including those for animations. For example, the approach I would use would likely depend on whether the scene is a birds-eye-view from a distance, or a profile view from the river bank.
    In general, you "draw water" by drawing the reflections and highlights.
    I don't use FlashBuilder. But if I were using Flash to build this, I would:
    Draw artwork for one or several smoothly-looping movieClip Symbols, resembling the pulsation of water highlights surrounding a rock, log, or other obstruction. These instances stay in position on the scene, but their length, scale, opacity, and pulse rate is scripted to respond interactively to some user input. Longer, larger, more opaque, faster-pulsing highlights suggest faster-moving water.
    For example, I have a project in which leaves fall randomly into a scene. As they fall, their spin rate, flop, and the direction of fall is controlled interactively by the user's mouse movement, which changes the value of a "wind" variable upon which those behaviors are dependent.
    AND / OR
    Draw artwork for one or several static movieClip Symbols, resembling ripple highights and/or floating objects. Use ActionScript to generate enough instances of the Symbol(s) to span the view upon load. The instances are scripted to move toward the "end" of the view, be removed when they reach the end of the view, and be created at the start of the view. The rate of movement is controlled interactively by some user input.
    For example, I have an in-progress project which involves a bird's eye view of a vehicle chassis  rolling along a road. The chassis is static, but the wheels appear to spin and the grain of the road "moves" under them according to user input (pressing the accellerator or brake pedals).
    AND \ OR
    Draw a single particle, store it as a Graphic Symbol. Build a MovieClip Symbol in which the particle is replicated and randomly distributed within the area of the MovieClip. The number and frequency of the particles' appearance, disappearance (i. e.; the density of the particle cloud) is scripted to respond in real time to user input.
    For example, I have a simulation of a vehicle exhaust system in which the particulate filter becomes progressively clogged or cleared according to a "temperature" variable which is affected by several interactive user controls.
    At any rate, I would not try to make the animation of a flowing river any kind of elaborate, multi-layered artwork in Illustrator. The paths drawn in Illustrator for any of the above approaches would be just a few very very simple paths. All transformations (scale, movement, opacity) would be scripted and/or tweened in Flash. Tweens (frame-by-frame animations) would be avoided as much as possible. The result would be a tiny file with smooth and supple movement, not the bulky and jerky stuff that usually results from resorting to frame-by-frame animation (which is all you're going to get from AI's Blends and/or Layers approaches).

  • Wind Blowing Effect - HELP

    Hello, I'm trying to create the effect of a plant blowing in
    the wind. I'm not a Action Script guru by any means. Currently, I
    just have the plant on the stage and I just skew the image every 10
    frames or so and tween. It's OK but it's jumpy and definietly
    doesn't look like natural wind. Can anyone help me with
    this?

    I suggest that if you want to animate look at a real tree and
    either rotoscope or interpret that footage. A shortcut to animation
    in adobe software is using sequential blends in illustrator layers
    exporting a swf and importing it into flash layers. Be careful with
    grouping blends in illustrator though. To many blends at different
    depths can cause errors in vector calculus.
    Happy animating! :)

  • Objects Blowing in the Wind

    Hey guys,
    I was wondering how I could do this in Flash.
    Posted above is the start of my website's title animation.
    I have a bunch of letters which I am going to hang off a tree branch or some fixed bar, with string.
    A gentle breeze will blow against them causing them to rock (and therefore rotate) gently at different rates according to how heavy each letter is and how long the string is.
    I'm hoping there is a way to assign a weight to each letter and just introduce a wind vector.
    If there is no easy way to do this, do I have to make movie clips for each letter and calculate for myself how much movement there will be for each letter?
    I am very inexperienced with Actionscript, so I'd appreciate as much assistance as you could spare me.
    I have CS5.
    Thanks in advance.

    And this makes it a bit clearer...

  • Animated 3D

    I don't understand the animation play feature in Acrobat
    If I create a pdf from a file that has animaion in it, I can see the blue play button in the top bar after I click to activate 3D, there are no re-wind buttons,
    Sometime the display starts with the pause buttom, sometime I keep clicking and nothing happens, the button changes from pause to play but the animation actualy does not play.
    I try animation style loop and bounce, but they don't help as I want my animaion to be still when the pdf is activated.
    on PC, there is a little black down-pointing arrow and when I click that, a slider pops up with helps me go back and forth trough animation, but sometimes clicking on the slider makes it flicker and act wierd, what is the best way to put an animation in a PDF without all this hassle.
    Thanks

    3D mesh animation inside Acrobat is handled in a slightly strange way - the mesh object doesn't have an inherent "playback" function, but rather Acrobat/Reader applies a Javascript-style ticker function to the annotation, which says
    "change the time in the mesh to the time since I started counting"
    "repeat as fast as the frame rate asks me to, or as fast as I can"
    If your PDF applies any more Javascript to control the playback (e.g. adding some of the scripts to change speed or make it play backward) then the existing ticker is disconnected. The timeline slider you see on the 3D popup menu hooks into that original ticker, and so if the playback is now controlled by a custom script, the ticker breaks - each time you move it, the now-fragmented Javascript moves it back again. You can re-connect the original ticker by clearing the event handlers for any user-added scripts, which gives you your scrubber back but then breaks your custom animation.
    As to a rewind button on the 3D toolbar - in short there isn't one. You have play and pause, and that's it. Anything else requires you to add your own Javascript and custom buttons (though there's an object in the Javascript API to let you do that)

  • Tell edge animation to play

    Hi, Is it possible to tell an edge animation to play from a button widget in muse?

    Hi
    Sorry to say but there's not much going on between the two camps, Muse and Edge A that is.  Like you, I subscribe to Muse but since I discovered EA...well...
    Thing is, dragging the aimated button to the trigger container just overlays it which effectively hides it.  Hence, it will simply not work as a trigger to launch lightbox.  I myself had the same idea....but its more involved that this.  As always.
    A possible solution might be to design your lightbox  and simply use the built in trigger for now -  go ahead and publish the site like this.  View your site in a browser of your choice then click on the trigger which will reveal the URL that launches the Lightbox feature.  Copy this in the browser.  Cheeky eh?
    Then go back to your button in Edge A (select it) and add an on click event handler (look for {} to the left of the element and select click event).  Using the snippets on the right-hand plane choose add URL and paste the link from the clipboard between the " " so when the button is clicked it references the lightbox.  Go back to Muse and position your edge button again and publish again.  Its very long winded I know.  Get it? Will it work? dunno.  Have I tried it? no.  But the logic is faultless, because the URL trigger on your button  should point to the lightbox...thats the theory anyway.
    Hope this is of some help and hope it works...might as well give it a try eh?...this is how I discovered Edge A trying to animate buttons etc.  In the end I decided to build my entire site using it.

  • Eliminating flame wind during pan

    Hi All,
    I've been wrestling with a problem for awhile, and I'm all out of ideas. I have a background image that has a candle in it. I have used the flame particle emitter to create a nice animated flame on the candle. This looks great while the background is fixed. However, part of my project includes panning and zooming the background. I have the flame as part of the layer of the background, so it scales properly and holds on the candle. However, when the background moves, the flame flies off to the side as if the movement is causing wind (imagine wind blowing on the flame). I can see if this was some kind of action shot that you might actually want this effect, but for my purposes, it's completely wrong. There is no wind in the room, and it's isn't the room that is moving, it's just the camera that is panning across the room. Is there a way to get the flame to continue burning straight up (aka, no wind effect) while the background pans? If so, please let me know how. I've played with a few settings, but nothing seems to remotely help.

    Hi Mark,
    I had already considered that, but I run into this type of problem frequently with adding particle emitters to a background that I pan (flames, sparkles, etc.). I would really like to understand Motion enough to be able to control the effect rather than do the export, re-import work-around. Isn't there some emitter attributes that would control this?
