Windows 7 64 bit OS will not install any HP print drivers

My HP Pavilion p7-1297cb pc which is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS will not install any HP print drivers. All my windows updates are current, HP print and scan doctor did not fix it, I also tried MS fix it manager and did not work.  When I try to use my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus installation CD or HP's download center, software almost installs, but says print drivers will not install.  Also, I tried using USB connection and windows tries to install software, but does not work.  Same for HP print driver support.   I tried installing 3 different HP printers I had and all had the same issue. Any ideas on why my system will not allow any print drivers to install?

Hi rrfhp,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand none of the HP drivers will fully install.
I will be happy to help you.
Are you signed in as the Administrator of the computer?
I would turn off all start up programs to make sure there isn't something blocking the printer.
Click on start, in the search box type in run, enter, then type in msconfig, click OK.
Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
Then click on the start up tab at the top.
Click on disable all.
Reboot the computer.
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus software.
Then run the installation again by right clicking on the setup and selecting run as Admininstrator.
Don't connect the USB cable until prompted.
Try printing now.
Then go back into msconfig and enable the All Microsoft Services and enable all on the start up tab.
Turn the Antivirus software back on again.
Please let me know the results if you are still having issues.
Are you getting any error messages?
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

I've installed three times with no luck. I downloaded the Creative Cloud Packager off the licensing site: https://licensing.adobe.com. I unpacked and choose my applications. The install seemed to be successful, but I don't so any of the applications anywhere.

    Hi,
Creating package doesn't mean it will install the product,
You will need to install the package now. Please follow the instructions mentioned in the below articles

  • After I install itunes my windows 7 - 64 bit machine will not boot and I have to use Restore  to boot with a date before I installed itunes

After I install itunes on my windows 7 - 64 bit machine it will not reboot and I need to restore to a date before itunes was install.  How do I fix this?

I'm having a very similar issue, paired with iTunes not being able to get online.
iTunes shows up in processes and then hangs at 17,000 K or so -- sometimes it will start up, but that (if it occurs) is a delay of literal hours.
Pretty meticulously went through all the 'cannot connect' trouble shooting, and have uninstalled, restarted, and then reinstalled every piece of apple software; issue is just as firm. Starting in safe mode or admin mode don't fix it; signing in as a different user doesn't fix it.

  • Windows 7 64 Bit system will not update to iTunes 7 - Help please!

    Hello -
I've been trying to update my iTunes since July and have been unable to do so. I think the last time I installed a version of iTunes was in May. I've tried everything and anything I could find on the web but nothing works!
    I have a Windows 7 PC 64 bit laptop.
Everytime I try to update I get the error message "the installer encountered errors before the installation could be completed".
    I've already tried:
    - Downloading directly from apple site
    - Downloading the update only then installing
    - Made a new user account on my computer to try install
    - Uninstalled everything and started fresh
    - Disk Clean up's
    - Turned off Anti-Virus
    - Restarting computer and more...
Does anybody have any suggestions!? It's driving me crazy not being able to sync my iphone 4! I'm starting to think it's just not compatable...
PS - I am able to install older version of iTunes, but my iphone 4 is not compatable since i've upgraded to iOS6

  • Latest 64-bit Nightly will not install. Minefield was working fine!

I was regularly using Minefield on my 64-bit Windows 7 system. The updates installed fine. About the second update following the switch from Minefield to Nightly (roughly 04/25), the upgrade install completes but the program will not run. I just get a "Windows" window saying it won't run. I attempted to un-install, clean registry, reinstall, etc. Nothing works. I tried compatibility settings to no avail. Any suggestions. Windows (of course) hasn't found a solution.

There is a known problem with the latest 64 bit versions of the nightly builds. The 32 bit versions are working. One of the best places to keep track of issues with the nightly builds is the MozillaZine builds forum - http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=23

  • Windows 8.1 erased and will not install.

    I successfully installed windows 8.1 to my laptop in-between 7 pm - 11 pm  August 9th of 2014, then in-between 6 am - 8 am August 10th of 2014 my
laptops power cord unpluged on its own as usual and died. I then powered up my laptop and it said the laptop was not shut down properly. Once
i got it back on and working, my operating system was back to windows 7. So I tried to install windows 8.1 once again but it fails each time.
Below is my installation process step by step:
I put in my windows 8.1 installation disk.
I run my windows 8.1 installation disk.
I then enter my correct windows 8.1 product key "XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"
Wait for windows to verify product key, which is verified every attempt.
    I proceed,
It asks me if I want to keep personal files or keep nothing,
I choose to keep my personal files,
    I click next,
I then agree to the license agreement,
    I click install,
    Installation begins,
And then at 51% (on all of my attempts) a notification box appears stating that my installation of windows 8.1 has failed and below text is a "OK" button which you have to click to go back to your
    desktop.
There is no information on why windows failed.
I don't understand why this is happening. What could be causing my windows 8.1 to fail installation?

    Hi,
Please share more details about your issue for us to offer a better assistance.
    1. What do you mean about “Once i got it back on and working, my operating system was back to windows 7. ”
    2. Do you rollback to Windows 7 after your failing to install Windows 8.1?

  • ITunes will not install any (downloaded) apps: the install buttons are grey.

I have installed iTunes 12.0.1.26 on my (up-to-date) Windows 7 64 bit machine. I have successfully downloaded several apps from the app store. Now I would really like to install those apps on my iPhone 4s iOS 8.1.2, but iTunes wil not allow me to do so (nor on my iPod). It recognizes my iPhone, it shows me my apps, but the 'install' buttons are grey (i.e. they are not clickable). I have authorized my computer and installed iTunes as an administrator.
I searched this site and found a solution to a similar problem, but unfortunately that solution will not work here. The solution was to double click on one of the apps in 'my apps' and then authorize my computer, but when I double click on an app nothing happens at all. Well, it gets selected (blue), but that is all. So iTunes just isn't working properly, but I don't know how to correct it.
I really hope to get some help with this problem. Thanks in advance!

Ah, not sure what I was thinking at time.
You may want to try some of the troubleshooting steps in iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases. It may help to deauthorize and then reauthorize the computer. I suspect the double-click the app advice doesn't work with iTunes 12. Nothing interesting happened when I tried. If you have any protected media it might be worth confirming that it will play.
Is this a new library with respect to the device? If so see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • IMac G5 stops updating at 10.4.10, will not install any newer update/itunes

My first post, let's make it a good one. I have two macs so I fell behind on updating this iMac due to a poor iternet connection. Now that I have a solid internet connection, I can't update it!
    About my iMac:
    Machine Name: iMac G5
    Machine Model: PowerMac12,1
    CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (3.1)
    Number Of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 2.1 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
    Memory: 512 MB
    Bus Speed: 700 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 5.2.6f1
    Macintosh HD:
    Capacity: 233.64 GB
    Available: 174.74 GB
Everything I find just seems to go womp, womp, woommppp in my face. I have verified and repaired both the disk & permissions, cleaned up cache files, validated preference files... all to no avail.
Please help, what can I do to install 10.4.11? I believe I am behind on updating my airport as well. Probably everything that could be updated. DEFINTELY security updates.

Hi urboyruru and welcome to the forums!
The following is a general guide to safe updating, so some of it may be redundant for you, but as we have the same model iMac I feel qualified to speak!
I would install the 10.4.11 combo updater first, then all the others. Note: just do one update at a time.
There are no guarantees, but following this procedure when installing updates and upgrades on your Mac, or even re-installing them, will go a long way towards avoiding unpleasant after effects and ‘post-update stress disorder’.
It is also worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, as they have all been extensively beta-tested, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
Disconnect all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
    2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
    3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site. If your car runs on gasoline you would not want to fill the tank with diesel, so don’t try to install the PPC updater on an Intel Mac!
The 10.4.11 Combo Updater for PPC Macs is here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10411comboupdat eppc.html
And for Intel Macs: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10411comboupdat eintel.html
If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
More information on using Software Updater here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1338
Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.4.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
    Now proceed as follows:
    4. Close all applications.
    5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
    7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
    8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
    9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them compliant with the latest version of your operating system. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 3.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.
Lastly, Apple's own article on the subject of Software Update may also be useful reading:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106695
If you are updating Safari (or just have):
Input Managers from third parties can do as much harm as good. They use a security loophole to reach right into your applications' code and change that code as the application starts up. If you have installed an OS update and Safari is crashing, the very first thing to do is clear out your InputManagers folders (both in your own Library and in the top-level /Library), log out and log back in, and try again.
So, disable all third party add-ons before updating Safari, as they may not have been updated yet for the new version. Add them back one by one. If something goes awry, remove it again and check on the software manufacturer's website for news of an update to match your version of Safari. Remember: Tiger up to 10.4.10 used Safari 2.0.4 or, if you downloaded it, Safari 3.0.3 beta. Safari 10.4.11 used Safari 3.0.4 which was not a beta. If Safari 3.1.2 on 10.4.11 is not the fastest browser you have ever used, then something is wrong!
Moreover, trying to revert to Safari 3.0.4 (or worse still, version 2) when running 10.4.11 or 10.5 can have repercussions, as Safari 3.1.1 uses a completely different webkit on which other applications like iChat, Mail and Dashboard Widgets etc also rely, and may entail you having to reinstall an earlier operating system.
Most errors reported here after an update are due to an unrepaired or undetected inherent fault in the system, and/or a third party ad-on. Two such add-on that have been frequently mentioned here for causing such problems are Piclens and Pithhelmet. If you have them, trash them.
Additional tips on software installation here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106692
To reiterate, Input Managers reach right into an application and alter its code. This puts the behavior of the affected application outside the control and responsibility of its developers: a recipe for problems. That's not to say that issues absolutely will ensue as a result of Input Managers, but you, as a user, must decide. If the functionality of a specific Input Manager or set thereof is really important to you, you may well choose to assume the associated risk.
Again, the advice is to remove all Input Managers from the following directories:
    • /Library/InputManagers
    • ~/Library/InputManagers
especially prior to system updates (they can always be added back one-by-one later).

  • My epson sx525wd printer will not install/add to printer list on osx lion

I have recently installed osx lion on my macbook and imac and have had a few issues.  the most frustrating one is using a new printer i bought, Epson sx525wd which i bought several months ago but hadnt got round to playing with it yet.  Maybe my downfall in not installing on Snow Leopard prior to Lion intall.
Anyhow, When trying to add the printer in the printer system preferences panel, both usb connected or wifi, the message that appears is, this printer software is available to download from apple wound you like to download it, i click yes and it says there is not software to download and then wont let me add the printer.
So, i tried downloading the software/drivers and so on from epson, successfully and installed but add printer system preferences panel still asks me to download from software update and again says there isnt any software to download.
So, i tried doing a software update from the apple icon, software update. again no software updates available.  Finally i found the CD installation disc that came with the printer thinking i had fool it.  to my disappointment i found that the installation software on the disc was not working and said i needed to install rosetta.  and to my further disappointment i discovered that lion has discontinued the use of rosetta.....?  is this true.
I am unsure what to do...
would it be safe to say that i might have to revert back to snow leopard to install the printer then upgrade to lion again?
can anyone help or at least give suggestions?
    Many thanks
    Andy

Delete the /Library/Printers/Epson folder. Then try installing the software that you downloaded again. If that doesn't help, you can try downloading the full package of Epson drivers from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL900.
It shouldn't be necessary to go back to SL and then to Lion to get this working.
    Hope this helps.

  • I6 will not install any update...error occurrd

my i6 gets an "error occurred" when installing any update

Are you doing the Update via WiFi?  If yes, do you have access to a computer with a current version of iTunes that you could try?  Have you done a Reset on the iPhone prior to the Update, to see if that would help?  Sometimes just turning the iPhone off and then on again can make a difference.

  • C6380 is installed in Windows 7 64-bit but will not print

I recently bought a Pavillion dv-2210ev windows 7 64bit, and would like to wi-fi connect it to my c6380. It works well with my desktop (wirelessly also), and got the Solutions Center installed perfectly on the Pavillion. It scans as requested from the computer.
However, it won't print. I will send a document to the printer (c6300 series), but it doesn't even get to the print queue, and won't print on the tray. No error messages at all. Just silence. Only the pop-up window down right corner of HP saying that print job is starting.
I tried 2-3 reinstalls, tried to create a port myself (locally and then standard IP/TCP as suggested by some people here), even created some rules for the firewall which I found from the Network Diagnostic Program that's on hp.com. I tried the trick with the bidirectional support and it didn't work either.
Any ideas? This c6380 starts to hit my nerves, since it works only with the desktop, and not painlessly all the time.

Try to delete printer in Control Panel and re-add:
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's host name (found on the printer's network configuration report the generated above). Click Next.
If you get a message about Additional Port Information Required, then the printer was not found using the host name. You can go back and retry or using the printer's IP address instead of the host name.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Make a choice and click Next.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.
