Windows 7 decide which route to take if THE PC Has 4 connection (4 X 1 Gig) available to internet

Hi Network experts
realy i need you to figure out the below
1)how windows 7 decide which route to take if  THE PC Has 4 connection (add on 4 X 1 Gig)  available to internet , the route print on windows machine shows the 4
connection with same metric (metric 10) , the adapter order is as follows
G1,G2,G3.G4
2)what about the less subnet id if each interface has less subnet id than other
3)the built in interface (gig 0) why have metric of 286 not 10 like others
thank you all

Hello.
As far as I remember, Windows uses ANY of the routes with equal metric.
I'm not sure if there is publicly available algorithm, but I believe it may switch from one interface to another if experience packet loss on the current.
So, the conclusion is: the outgoing interface is not predictable.
If you want any kind of reliability you would better to create port-channel and use FHRP on your routers.

  • Why do I not have access to all the features of my Canon MG5320 printer in all applications which use a printer? The printer has two paper paths. The rear path is used for photo paper and other specialty papers. this is only one "unavailable".

    I have an iMac late 2012 with OSX 10.8.
    The MG5320 has two paper feed paths; one at the rear for photo paper, brochure paper, and other specialty papers and a tray for regular 8½x11 paper. It also can print on CDs and DVDs and has an automatic duplexer. Canon provides a utility for printing on the CDs and DVDs and also for printing photos and other specialty items. This is available in Mac format also. I installed the most recent drivers and utilities.
    I also have a HP IBM Compatible computer on which the above printer as well as an Epson are installed. Every option of each printer is available in every software application that has need for a printer.
    The Mac printer dialog varies from one application to another. The only applications that list the option for selecting paper quality which includes photo paper are Office for Mac, Pages, and Numbers. Not likely that I would be using any of these for photo printing. Auto duplexing, however, is not available here or in any other applications.
    The print dialog in Aperture, Photoshop Elements for Mac, ACDSee for Mac, or iPhoto provide the choice of numerous sizes of paper but no option for paper quality. Therefore, I attempted to use the print utility supplied by Canon and updated by Apple for printing some photos. The photos are selected in this utility. When the print command was given I was shown a message that the printer was being reset. It then began printing a spreadsheet, which was not even open, from the front tray on regular paper in fast draft quality.
    It is essential that the rear feed be available for printing photos. The printer will not accept photo paper from the front tray. The greater proportion of my printing is photos or other specialty items all of which use paper that must be fed from the rear feed.
    An acquaintence who considers himself to be somewhat of a Mac expert insists that the printer options that I require are available and all I need to do is look for them. The print dialog should be clear enough that "looking for options" is not a necessity. Even so, I have dilligently searched every variation of the Mac print dialog on my iMac and only the office type applications named above included anything other than the basic printer functions.
    I have also searched numerous locations online without finding a solution. I did, however, find that printing and printing problems seem to be common with several versions of the Mac OS and Mac computers in general.
    I would appreciate it if someone could provide me with a solution. I have no desire to upgrade my Windows OS to Windows 8 which is perhaps suitable for "smart" phones but not desktop computers. However, because of the printing issue I have temporarily put my iMac aside and reverted to using my PC with Windows Vista.

  • Need advice in which route to take with Vista install a

    I have been scouring the forums gathering all sorts of do's and don'ts, but still would like some advice.
    I have an iMac (early 2006) w/ 1.5GB ram running Tiger 10.4.11 (never downloaded beta BC) and a MacBook 2.16GHz w/ 1GB ram running Leopard 10.5.2. I recently bought Vista Home Premium OEM - my options are VMFusion on iMac or Bootcamp on laptop? I am a little hesitant because of the OEM version, which I did not pay attention to when I bought it at a computer show. It is 32-bit, thank god. I know the ram is weak on the MacBook but planning to upgrade to 2 soon. My main reason for Windows is for a few programs, no gaming. I wish I would of payed more attention to the fact it was OEM, now if one install goes to the toilet and need to reinstall on another computer..I will be on the phone w/ Microsoft till I am 90!
    Thanks in advance for any advice!
    Andrea

    I took the plunge and used Bootcamp on my MB because Intuit does not support their products using VM's and the primary reason I wanted Windows was for Quicken 2008. The installation went flawlessly and I am up and running with Vista and no phone calls to India..pheww!

  • My Macbook air (only 2 months old) has a black screen and I cannot see to get signed on, the keyboard seems to be on as I can see via having put on the Caps key which lights up and also the power cable when connected is at green how do I fix this?

    I have been faced with a Black screen this morning when I have gone to sign in/open my Macbook air this morning.  I can see that the keyboard seems to be on as the caps key when pressed is lighting up as is my charger cable link, however have noticed that the apple logo is not lit up.  Any thoughts?

    Try resetting SMC and NVRAP and then reboot.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
    Try booting the Recovery Partition.  Power off, boot and then hold down the Command and R keys.  Is the screen still black?  If so it is not a software problem so take it in for diagnosis and repairs.  Make a Genius Bar reservation http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ or find an Apple Authorized Service Provider https://locate.apple.com/country .
    If you are running Mavericks try upgrading to 10.9.2.  It has a fix for black screen problems.

  • HT4623 How long should the restart take after the software has been installed?

    Its already been an hour and the bar is barely moving

    Same here on two Macs, a Mid 2012 MBPro Retina/SSD and a Mid-2011 27" iMac. I waited two hours for the "Restarting" dialog to disappear on the MBPro and then I forced a shutdown and restarted. That worked and did not cause any apparent problems. I went to bed last night with the "Restarting" dialog on the iMac and it was still there this morning. I forced a restart and it, too, seems OK.
    My guess is you should expect this to go on forever, or until you force a restart.
    This is why I do SuperDuper backups of my machines before updating the OS, and I disconnect the backup drives before updating.

  • I am going to college this fall and can't decide which MacBook pro to buy!

    I am going to college this fall and can't decide which MacBook pro to buy the 13in or the 15in. Mainly to type, browse the web, watch videos, and maybe some light gaming. I am worried that the 15in might be too big to carry around all the time.  And worried about the 13in being too small and hurting my eyes over time. Once I do get one, I am most likely going to use it for the full 4 years. Please Help !

    The 13" will do the trick for what you describe as your needs, Be sure to consider how you will backup your data -- need an external drive?
    Also be sure to check with your college or division of study to see what they recommend. If they are hostile to Macs, you may be on your own for finding support. But in most major cities, that will not be too hard.

  • How can a jsp page tell which Oracle Responsibility the user has selected?

    We have two responsibilities - Timecard Administrator and Timecard Viewer. Everything that they can access is the same, except for one particular jsp page which we want to present a slightly different view if the user's responsibility is Timecard Viewer (specifically, the edit link in the results page will be suppressed). Unfortunately in order to implement this, the jsp code needs to be able to distinguish which of those two responsibilities the user has selected. I have written jsp code to print all the environment variables and unfortunately the environment is essentially identical regardless of which of the two responsibilities the user selected.
    How do I pass in the active responsibility to that page/environment in a way that can be tested by the jsp code?
    Thank you,
    Graham Toal <[email protected]>

    Yes, I tried something like this (shortened to the basics for this post):
    <pre>
    sqlQuery="select responsibility_name from fnd_responsibility_vl where responsibility_id = FND_GLOBAL.RESP_ID";
    stmt=con.createStatement();
    rs=stmt.executeQuery(sqlQuery);
    int field_count=rs.getMetaData().getColumnCount();
    while (rs.next()) {
    for (int i=0; i<field_count; i++) {
    logger.write("Responsibility: "+rs.getObject(i+1),"JSP",objName,0,-1,1001);
    </pre>
    However it did not print any results at all.
    I'm trying a different approach at the moment - I've cloned the menus from the Administrator responsibility to the new Viewer responsibility, and have altered the top-level menu so that I can insert a new variable into the process state myself; that way by the time the user navigates to the changed page, there should be a variable there that can be tested.
    Unfortunately the top-level menu isn't just a simple menu, it's a piece of code that issues an HTML redirect depending on the parameter passed in - which is set in the Oracle function screen for the function attached to that menu.
    (was something like utpa_top_menu.jsp?ADMIN and I changed it to utpa_top_menu.jsp?VIEWER, with appropriate tests for the new module name:
    <tt>
    else if ("VIEWER".equals(moduleName))
    url = "/utpa/jsp/admin_reports-viewer.jsp";
    </tt>
    In admin_reports-viewer.jsp I've added <tt>session.putValue("REPVIEWER","y");</tt> and in the actual target main page I have:
    <pre>
    if (session.getValue("REPVIEWER") == "y") {
    // viewer
    out.println("<CENTER><B>You are using the Timecard Viewer responsibility</B></CENTER><BR>");
    } else {
    </pre>
    And although the URL bar at the top of the screen is displaying the correct (redirected) URL, the page that is displayed is blank. Completely empty. 0 bytes. The file is present on the filing system; has content; has the correct ownership and permissions; I've reloaded apache, even had the systems guys reboot completely. I'm at a loss :-/

  • Can anyone help me decide which computer I need...

    I do intensive video/audio/and photo imaging processing on my computers. My boss is going to get me a new computer and I'm trying to decide between a MacBook Pro and G5.
    I need:
    FW 800
    graphics card capabilities for Motion and Aperture
    Audio input
    DL burning
    My real question I suppose is the Macbook Pro as good of a machine as G5. I want a machine that is FAST and reliable. The portability of the Macbook is a plus, but the reliabilty/compatibility of the G5 is also a plus.
    I also am afraid to get a G5 because it may be obsolete sooner than we imagine. But so would the MBP.
    So, can I have some thoughts on the performance values on both machines. This would be my main computer for all my video/audio/photo editing. Thanks alot...

    At this point, as long as you are talking about a PowerMac G5, the G5 will be a more reliable performer.
    Most likely, it will either outperform, or perform comparably to the MacBook Pro.
    If you are in need of something that will do the job without all the returns to the store, then you are probably better off with a G5 (don't get an iMac G5 though - they are even more trouble).
    But, you are right to be concerned about life-span when it comes to PowerPC vs Intel.
    The Intel architecture is definitely the way of the future now. And, there will come a day when developers will care less about backwards compatibility. So, we will likely see a day when something will be released only for Intel.
    Who knows how far off that day is. But, it will likely come eventually.
    Apple last updated the PowerMac G5 in December. So, they are going to be nearing their average replacement cycle pretty soon. I would suspect that by Fall or Winter that we will see a new replacement for the PowerMac based on the Intel CPU's.
    But, if you have to buy now, then you are choosing between two basic concepts:
    1) MacBook Pro: CPU with more support going forward. 32-BIT CPU instead of 64-BIT. Reliability problems, and lots of early design issues. You could get a good one, or you could spend all your time in the repair shop. All repairs will have to be done by Apple.
    2) PowerMac G5: CPU with no future support. Will likely be supported in software for at least another year or two. 64-BIT CPU, and very powerful. Proven design, and greater reliability than the MacBook Pro. Also, fully serviceable. The only component you can't really replace with after-market parts is going to be the main logic board.
    So, in the end, you have to choose between the solid and reliable performer who's future is unsure, and the unreliable first-born who's future is assured but may spend all it's time being fixed.
    I'm not sure if this helps. But, maybe it will give you some thoughts to help with your decision.
    If it were me, I would eliminate the 15-inch MacBook Pro immediately from the equation.
    Then, consider that the 17-inch comes with FireWire 800 (instead of having to add it on as you would with the 15-inch model).
    The 17-inch has so far had fewer complaints than the 15-inch model had in the same amount of time following it's introduction. But, the 17-inch may have also seen far fewer sales in this same time period due to price (and the fact that many of it's potential buyers probably already have a 15-inch).
    To be honest, I don't know for sure which route I would go. I personally had two iMac G5's that gave me a lot of problems. These were iMac specific issues. They were not G5 issues, but rather issues unique to the design of the iMac.
    I sold them, and have decided to wait until a reliable Intel machine ships to purchase my next replacement. At this point, I am watching for an Intel PowerMac.
    But, if I were forced to buy today, it would be a very tough call.
    I would avoid all iMacs. And, I wouldn't want the current MacBook Pro or the Intel Mini. So, I'd be stuck between purchasing something I didn't want or something that might be obsoleted faster than I'd like.
    It's a tough one.
    How tied into product availability are you?
    Do you need to be assured that you can always run the latest titles? Or, are you going to be using the same programs you buy today for the next 3 to 5 years?
    If your software upgrade cycle is fairly long, then I might be inclined to suggest going with the proven PowerMac G5. Just get the most powerful one you can.
    If your software upgrade cycles are shorter, then I would probably consider (with a mental struggle) the idea of getting a new Intel based system. And, then try to pick the least problematic of the bunch. At this point, that would appear to be the 17-inch MacBook Pro. But, only time will tell if it has the same issues as the 15-inch. Right now it's good appearance could be due to lower sales volume than the 15-inch in the same time period.
    One additional thought, is whether the programs you use or need will be available in Universal Binary form in the near future. If not, then they will perform slower on the MacBook Pro than they will on the PowerMac G5.
    Hopefully my thoughts are helpful. It's a tough spot. But, I know some people can't put off a purchase until the outlook improves.

    I'm using Premiere Elements 11, which automatically opens in a project window for HD. I want to reset the default for SD. How can I reset the default for opening a project?

    scottypet
    For Premiere Elements 11 and 12, you cannot change its default project preset from NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 or its PAL counterpart PAL AVCHD Full HD1080i25 to something else.
    For each project, you can set the project preset manually if you do not want the program to take over setting the project preset based
    on the properties of the first drag to the Timeline.
    To set the project preset manually, open the project to the Expert workspace, go to File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings.
    In the Change Settings area, change the project preset. Before you exit that area, be sure to have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Setting on This Project" in the new project dialog.
    Then you import your source media, using the appropriate Add Media choice.

    If you want a version of Premiere Elements that uses the default project preset of NTSC DV Standard or its PAL counterpart PAL DV Standard, then you need to look to a version of Premiere Elements earlier than 11.
    Please let me know if you have any further questions on this or need clarification.

    Is your CS6 serial number for Windows or Mac? If Windows then you must apply for a platform swap to get a Mac serial number for CS6.

  • Pls suggest me which bumper to take

    Hi Guys
    I was seeing the bumpers on the Case Program App, but seriously I can't see which will be best for the phone. Because i cant feel it.
    I dont have any apple store near me.
    Can u please suggest your if you have bought one?
    Also is there any website where I can see enlarged pics ?

    I suggest you start reading about ERP and then about SAP. Get a basic idea of what SAP is all about and what are the major modules in SAP. Then select a module that best suits your domain experience and your interest. Once you've zeroed in on the right modules, start making enquiries if the job market is good for that module. If there's a good demand for those Consultants in the market, then plan to take up a course.
    Here depending on your financial situation you need to decide if you can afford a SAP Certified training course or not. After completing the course start marketting yourself in the market using all the jobsites and professional networks untill you land yourself a job. This is the toughest part.
    There are numerous threads and blogs with the same objective as yours. Read through them to get an idea.
    Good Luck.

    how to decide which access sequence goes for which partner function ?

    Hi Padmaja,
    If i understand your question correctly, below is my answer.
    Lets take a example : In your requirement ..while creating Sales / service order (for ex if you are creating from preceding document)
    you have to pick up the Contact person from preceding document & Employee responsible from responsible organization
    For this in partner function assign Access sequence as below.
    same way if the partner(here ex: Ship to party) has to be picked up from "Current partner" change the access sequence to "Current partner Sold to party"
    Hope this gives better understanding, still for better understanding check the below links
