WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM LAPTOP

WINDOW 7 HAS A COMPUTER (C:) DEVICE FOR A BACKUP SYSTEM DRIVE, NOW I CANT GET BACK TO IT AND IT IS TELLING ME MY BACKUP RESTORE IS A D OR DVD WHICH IS NOT SO. HOW DO I FIX THIS PROBLEM?

Just to be clear.. when people ask for something free I would say Macrium Reflect..
I have used it and it works extremely well.. however you need to understand what you are getting.. that is whole disk backup. And whole disk restore.
Disk restore being whole disk is done from a CD with a linux or windows PE boot environment on it. And that is actually very easy .. the software is all included to make the disk.
This is not however how you do backups for a daily use machine.
To get incremental backup and restore you need to pay for it. This is fair enough, as the free version can then simply be upgraded by paying for a key.
There are so many backup programs for windows I cannot keep up now (since I changed over to Mac I don't even care).. but whatever is the recommend best backup software in the review sites.. buy that.. it has to have a feature to backup to network drives.. all do.
As an alternative to a free one, look at the genie timeline free version.

Free is only a marketing tool after all. I have never used this one. In fact the software I used for free is simple backup of your user folder.. and it created a winzip file on whatever drive you liked. So the idea is do a full disk backup and then just backup your user directory. This works extremely well if you use good file practice and store everything where you should.
Windows Professional is a poor upgrade for home premium if all you are after is MSbackup which must be the most pathetic backup software in the history of the universe. Don't even think about it. The only reason you buy pro is to have server login.

Hi, I've an iPad Mini with the latest version 6.0.2, a windows 7 Home Premium laptop and iTunes 11.0.1 (12), but I can't synchronize my music or videos with it. I managed to syncronize my books but thats all.
I also have an iphone 5 and everything seems to work fine with it.
I see all movies and music available to be sync but when I click on the sync button, the process starts, the bottom bar shows an increase in consumed space then nothing happens and the bar goes back as nothing was added.
Please help..

Like I said earlier I syncd everything to my iphone5 successfully...
I got my PDF ebooks to this same iPad... Films & Music do not seem to be getting through..

Backing up a windows 7 home premium laptop

Hello,
I have just purchased and installed a time capsule. It is being used wirelessly as my primary backup for my imac. I also have a windows 7 home premium laptop, and would like to back it up as well to the time capsule. I read about installing the airport utility, and most people are recommending Macrium Reflect to back up to a network drive. My question is, when I look at the Macrium Reflect free version, it does not show an option to restore, nor does it have encryption available? If I use the free version, will I be able to restore my laptop if needed? Will my backup be secure going over a wireless LAN?
Any advice is greatly appreciated! Wondering if I should pay for the standard version, or for that matter just pay to upgrade to windows professional?

Cannot access security settings from firefox dropdown box in Windows 7 home premium (laptop)

This is a new HP laptop with Windows 7 Home premium
There is not a firefox world in upper left corner, there is a box that says firefox with a drop down which does not include security settings.

You have version 4.0.1. The Options dialog can be accessed either way --
orange Firefox button > Options > Security tab
Tools menu > Options > Security tab
To display the classic menu bar temporarily, tap the Alt key or press F10. To make that permanent (and replace the orange Firefox button), use View > Toolbars > Menu Bar.

Forgot my Admin Password to my HP Pavillion Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop

Need help I forgot my admin password. I can login to other login but not do not have another admin acct. I need to update my pc but cannot. I do not have the original cd NOR do I want to do a system recovery to take it back to factory default settings because of important documents & tons of pics & videos saved.
Someone once posted to try the following steps to remove the password -> Restart your PC, and hold the F8 keyboard button and as you enter the Windows® Boot Menu you will see some different choices, choose Safe Mode with Networking. Now Windows® will start in Safe Mode. Select the default Administrator account from the login, the password can be blank. If you are lucky and passed the login, then you should be able to edit your original account. [[NOTE - I tried this & it did not work.]]
I had read somewhere just cant find it now that Microsoft had a program to safely remove an amdin password. Is this correct? Does HP or Microsoft have a way without loosing data? Are there any third party programs that anyone can recommend that can safely remove the password that I can use that will not reset my pc back to factory?

Contact the Geek squad and let them know what the problem is.
Tell them that there are important documents on your notebook that you cannot lose.
That would mean asking them if they can guarantee that you won't lose your documents.
Ask them if they have access to a utility that will reset the password for you without requiring a reinstallation of the operating system. If they don't have a clue when you ask about MSDaRT's Locksmith utility, then find another shop. Many cities have independent technicians who can do this for you.

TS1538 I have an iPod Touch IOS 4.2.1 that Windows 7 home premium can't see. Says there's a driver problem. My other one with IOS 5.1.1 works on the same cable and computer. I don't know where to go.

I have an iPod Touch with 4.2.1 that won't connect to my Windows 7 Home Premium laptop. It gives a "USB Device Not Recognized" error when I plug it in to a USB port. My wife's (newer) iPod Touch with IOS 5.1.1 works just fine with no errors. I'm using the same port - I just moved the cable from one iPod to the other. I've tried the various different drivers using Update Drivers. I let it search the internet and it says "The best driver software is already installed", but the device shows as "Unknown Device". I did the browse my computer, unchecked the "Show compatible hardware", and selected Apple, Inc.. There were two Apple iPod USB Drivers. One was 6.0.9999.53 and the other was 6.0.9999.61. Neither of these works. I'm thinking that the maybe I need to upgrade the iPod touch software version - but I don't know how to get to it. Can this be loaded over WiFi? Any other ideas?

Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

SP 2010 - Getting "An unexpected error has occurred. " message when accessing Sharepoint site after windows update - Windows 7 Home Premium

I am new to SP 2010. I have installed Share point 2010 server (trial version) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop by following the below link.

Everything went fine and was able to see the new sharepoint site after completing configuration wizard. SP2010 Central Admin also worked fine.
However, after windows update, sharepoint site is not working. I was able to see the site working for more than a day before windows update. SP2010 Central Admin is still working. Executed "PSCONFIG" after
update but still no good.
I saw a warning "The Security Token Service is not available" in Central Admin and did some research to fix the issue but nothing worked.

Can't use iTunes with Windows Vista Home Premium

I have deleted and reinstalled so many times, so i tried the compatibility settings and set it to work for Windows XP(Service Pack 2) with 256 colours. It works, but it messes up all my colours.

It probably has to do with your security and/or browser configuration.
When my laptop crashed last year and I had to get a new one, I dealt with the same thing. First, go to your control panel and select the security section. See if your firewalls are up or not. If they are, turn them off. If you have any software to speed up your browser, that can affect the connection as well. Go into that software and disble/turn it off. If this doesn't work, contact customer support. They have a few other tricks they had me try that worked, but I can't remember them now.

How to install HP Deskjet 990cxi on my new laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium on an AMD 64

I have spent two days trying to install my excellent HP Deskjet 990cxi on my new laptop running Win7 Home Premium on an AMD 64-bit processor. I want to do two things:
to set the printer up to run direct from a USB port on my laptop. Having done this, I then want
to set the printer up on BT Home Hub Type 2A, connected through the hub's USB, as a network computer.
So far under windows, this has proved a huge problem. It seems that the printer settings file is in 32-bit, but in the attempt to install the printer through the Windows "add printer" in Devices and Printers, and after a Windows update on the program to find Deskjet 990c, I run into a brick wall with the printer failing to install. I get the following message: "Printer driver was not installed. Access is denied ". Yet I am loading the printer drivers as Administrator.
By contrast, I also run Ubuntu 11.04 linux on this computer under Windows.
Ubuntu loaded the 990cxi drivers in an instant when it was connected via USB to the laptop; and more importantly,
Ubuntu set the printer us as a network printer running off the BT Home Hub type 2A and it worked perfectly. I even tested it by sending a graphics file from my garden to the printer indoors and the quality was perfect.
So the observation is this: If Ubuntu can load both printer settings on the same laptop, why is Windows 7 such a trial? Can HP do anything about this?
