Windows Crash Bugcheck code 0x24

What can i do about this...blue screen every 2 days...?

Hi Lamerito,
In addition to what has already been suggested by everyone here,
I download your dump file and here's what I think:
Since I didn’t found any process and thread from dump file and it points to ntfs.sys. I think it might be caused by just disk corruption.
Confirmation: please tell us, have you recently installed any soft that could affect your disk settings such as disk management software? Uninstall them if you have.
To resolve a disk corruption problem: Check Event Viewer for error messages from SCSI and FASTFAT (System Log) or Autochk (Application Log) that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Try disabling any virus scanners, backup
programs, or disk defragmenter tools that continually monitor the system. You should also run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer. For details on these procedures, see the owner's manual for your computer.
Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition.

    Any Ideas?

    Re:

Try finding  MSVCR110.dll  file on internet and replace it in the path C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR110.dll
    hopefully it works...

  • Windows Crashing after Auto Update

Windows performed an automatic update last night, and now when I connect my Nano to sync with itunes, Windows crashes and I get the "blue screen". When I reboot everything works fine until I connect my Nano and the same problem occurs. I haven't had any problems up to this point. Any ideas?
    Itunes 6.0.4.2
Dell Latitude D600   Windows XP Pro

    hiya!
what numerical and text codes are you getting with the blue screen? (ie 0x[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
here's a reference on the sorts of things i'm asking about:
    Troubleshooting Windows Stop Messages
if you're just seeing a flash of one, we can use this technique to slow it down a bit:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.

  • Windows crashs when playing music with iTunes

    Hi,
I have a problem with my iTunes. Since last week my Windows crashes when I start to listen to music over iTunes. I have already tried to re install Windows and have updated all the drivers for my hardware but there has still nothing changed.
When I'm updating my iPod with iTunes there is no problem. It only crashes when I started to listen to music with iTunes. I can still listen to music over other music programs like Winamp.
Can anybody help me?... or does anybody know what the reason could be for that?

    hi Simon!
I have a problem with my iTunes. Since last week my Windows crashes when I start to listen to music over iTunes.
are you getting a blue screen? if so, what numerical and text codes are you getting with it?
if you don't see a blue screen (or just get a flash of a blue screen), use Jonathan's technique to display any hidden ones:

  • [685P Neo] No Hyperthreading/Windows crashes

    Lo,
    A while ago i purchased:
    MSI 865P (MSI-6742)
    Pentium 4 Northwood 2.4G FSB 800 Stepping 12
    Sapphire 9600
After having a lot of blue screens/hard locks in windows even with all fixes (ACPI, drivers, bios settings, etc..) and several windows versions.
So i switched to linux. Runs stable now... so well... not a perfect solution.. but ok...
Now, i actually enabled hyperthreading etc, but i got a message telling me Hyper-Threading is disabled.
    this is because
    Code: [Select]
    MOV EAX,1
    CPUID
then EBX>>16 (or something) gives 1 (number of logical cpu's).
Now, that would mean i have a hyperthreading cpu, but it isn't enabled. This would probably be caused by the bios not having it enabled.
Tho my mainboard IS HT Ready and my CPU is a HT one too..
Got the latest bios running (6742v12.exe/v1.2/2003-9-4), but it doesn't enable HT or shows a bios option..
I hope someone can help me with this and if someone has a potential working solution for the windows crashes, don't hestiate to post so plz :D
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Jabber is attempting to repair itself from a conflict with the WebEx productivity tools.  However, it is looking for the original install file (.msi), cannot find it and therefore the repair fails.  To work around this problem you need to:
1 - Download the same version of CiscoJabberSetup.msi that is installed.  You can check the version by finding CiscoJabber.exe in your Program Files directory, right click, Properties and on the Details tab there is a product version.
2 - Copy this file to the location fro which you previously installed Jabber.  For example, if you downloaded the .msi to your desktop previously, do the same here again.  If you got this update as part of an auto update, then copy the file to "%temp%".
3 - Launch Jabber - it should successfully repair itself and launch.
    Thanks,
    Rob.

All Office applications will also try to open a temporary work file in the same location as the source file. This implies the source file directory also needs to be writable for this temporary file. Since the default HFS+ driver provides only read-only access, such temporary files will fail to open, and will cause the application to fail.
As a test copy the file you want to edit, say an Excel spreadsheet from the OSX file system to the C: drive on the Windows side and try to open it. If you look in this directory, you should see two files, the source and a temporary file. You may have to force the temporary file to be opened on a read-write file system, by manipulating the folder for temporary files.

Only Apple could hamstring and tie Mac OS to Windows. There isn't any other than whether you can download the drivers into Windows (you can) but Apple puts a block on the installer setup even if your mac does not support it.
Windows 7 needs at least Boot Camp 3.1 and 3.3 is what you should already have. And you are not getting security updates if you don't have at least 10.6.8 as was pointed out.  --- you arent using Software Update as you should. And you should backup and clone Mac (and Windows) as well.
You need Mountain Lion to use Boot Camp 5.x which supports Windows 7 & 8 and 64-bit.
I would upgrade to Lion if you can realizing that Rosetta and PowerPC are no longer supported though.

Is there a download of the Boot Camp 5 Support Software if I'm not using OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.3?
Yes, you can download the Boot Camp 5 Support Software here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1638
How do I use the Boot Camp 5 Support Software I downloaded from the web page?
The download file is a .zip file. Double click it to uncompress it.
Double-click the Boot Camp disk image.
Copy the Boot Camp and "$WinPEDriver$" folders to the root level of a USB flash drive or hard drive that is formatted with the FAT file system (see question below for steps on how to format).
Install Windows, leaving the flash or hard drive attached to the USB port of your Mac.
Installation of the drivers can take a few minutes. Don't interrupt the installation process. A completion dialog box will appear when everything is installed. Click Finish when the dialog appears.
When your system restarts your Windows 8 installation is done.
Note: If the flash drive or hard drive was not attached when you installed Windows and was inserted after restarting into Windows 8, double-click the Boot Camp folder, then locate and double click the "setup.exe" file to start the installation of the Boot Camp 5 Support Software.
How do I format USB media to the FAT file system?
Use Disk Utility to format a disk to use with a Windows computer. Here's how:
Important: Formatting a disk erases all the files on it. Copy any files you want to save to another disk before formatting the disk.
    Open Disk Utility.
Select the disk you want to format for use with Windows computers.
Click Erase, and choose one of the following from the Format pop-up menu:
If the size of the disk is 32 GB or less, choose MS-DOS (FAT).
If the size of the disk is over 32 GB, choose ExFAT.
Type a name for the disk. The maximum length is 11 characters.
Click the Erase button and then click Erase again.
Which versions of Windows are supported with Boot Camp 5?
64-bit versions of Windows 8 and Windows 7 are supported using the Boot Camp 5 Support Software. If you need to use a 32-bit version, you need to use Boot Camp 4 Support Software, and you must use Windows 7. 32-bit versions of Windows 8 are not supported via Boot Camp. For a complete list of Windows OS support, click here.

  • Seagate FreeAgent Desk 1TB causes windows crash and to go in a reboot loop

I bought this Seagate external USB HDD 1000Gb capacity and have been using this for a while. I was able to backup about 500gb of data. This external hdd was permanently hooked on to my computer which has win XP pro (4gb ram, 2.66Ghz CPU Pentium). I have used this only for backing up personal data ,photos and videos.
One day I got the dreaded  blue screen and rebooted my machine. The machine went on a reboot cycle. It used to show BIOS screen then windows logo and back to BIOS screen.
After that I unhooked my external HDD and the machine booted up clean. Now when I try to hook the external HDD and power it on, my windows crashes with the blue screen and shows the ntfs error.
How do i make it work. I have lots of data which I can't afford to lose.

Sounds like the drive has gone bad, not a common problem by any means. If the data is important, there are several data recovery options including Geek Squad. These options are not cheap though.

  • The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.

    Hi All,
      I am on MDM 5.5 SP6.
I am getting the following error message when trying to logging in to the DM.
The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.This application will now exit.
    Runtime Error :
    Program C :\Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\Data Manager\Datamanager.exe
    R6025.
    -Pure virtual function call.
And in console also the MDM server is stopped after getting the above error message.
Can anybody tell me what could be the problem?
    Thanks & Regards
    Sireesha.

    Hi Sireesha,
According to me, there can be 3 problems,
    1. Kindly check whether the MDM server is stopped. If it is, then restart the MDM Server and Load the repository with Update indices.
    2. If this error is coming with every repository, the problem will be either in the Version mismatch of the Server and the GUI's you are using. Kindly ensure that the versions for the MDM server and the MDM Gui's Match.
    3. If only Data manager Client is giving the problem, then you can un-install and install the DM GUI again.
Along with this, please refer to the link below :
[[The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.;]
    Hope it helps.
