Windows LV6.0 running on Linux Wine: config.cpp error (line 404)

Have anyone tried to run LabView (Windows version) under Linux using the Wine "emulator"?
Trying this on Debian Woody, with a Win98 install of LabView 6.0 returns:
config.cpp error (line 404)
I tried to search for such a file on both Win/Linux partitions: there's none.
So how am i gonna check this line 404?
Any clue would be strongly welcome!

I agree with Labviewguru about getting Labview for Linux. The only
problem is that you have to dish out $2000 or $3500. They don't have a
Base package.
I'm not sure if NI recomends a particular window manager but I do know it
will run on any of them. In an extreme case I used it on a PII 233MHz,
64MB ram, and a 300 MB disk. It was a Slackware distro using the fvwm2
window manager. Ran great. Presently I run it with Gnome.
My point is that if you have to buy a LV for Linux license, at least you
can save money buy putting it on a machine that's been used as a paper
weight for several years.

  • "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer's hardware" error using MDT

Good day. I am using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit to deploy images to a group of ClearCube R3080D bladed PCs. Below are the server details:
VMware virtual server with Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Service Pack 1
    Microsoft Deployment Workbench Version 6.1.2373.0
    Management Console 3.0 Version 6.1(Build 7601: Service Pack 1)
    Windows Deployment Services Version 6.1.7600.16385
The image I am deploying to the blades is that of Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Service Pack 1 with Office 2010 and a few other third-party applications.
I have pushed this image to literally hundreds of blades successfully. I had a problem with one blade and found that the HDD was faulty. I RMA’d that HDD and installed the replacement. I pushed the same image to the blade and it works fine to the very end
then I receive the error ”Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on this computer’s hardware.”
I have checked the BIOS configurations on this blade and they are identical to those of several known good blades. In fact, I swapped HDDs between a known good blade and the blade in question. The problem seemed to follow the HDD. Therefore, I assumed that
ClearCube sent a faulty HDD. I had the identical problems with a second HDD from ClearCube so I’m sure that the HDD is fine.
    I have read through http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753
as well as many other questions posed by other folks and I have yet to find a good solution.
Again, this image works on all other blades that are of the same model and the HDDs are also of the same model. I'm quite confused!

  • CPP error line 638

Hi I'm having problems with the CPP ERROR at line 638, my application includes profibus and vision.  In the past when I had CPP ERRORS I had found if I sequenced the profibus VI this would eliminate the problem, however the problem has returned.  I thought maybe it would be the IMAQ for the vision, so  I bypassed the vision altogether, it is still in the code but not currently called or used. This hasn't helped either,  I was wondering if the issue could be with too many VI's running at the same time, perhaps a memory allocation problem, but I don't know at this point.
This has been most frustrating I'm running out of I deals
    Thanks

    Hello Colorado,
Normally when you are starting up LabVIEW after a crash or another error happens, LabVIEW will give you the cpp file name and the line number.  You then have the option to investigate the error.  This will send a report to NI so that we can work on finding why the error happens and what we can do to fix it.  You should probably send that error to NI if you have not done so already.
Since the cpp file and the version of LabVIEW is missing from you post, you may want to include it.  It would probably be helpful to others who may have run into this error.
    I hope this helps.

  • Linker.cpp error @ line 2075 w/Labview 6.0.2 and Appl. Builder

So frustrating! The libraries run in the debugging environment just fine. No errors and two minor warnings. I have to constantly tweak and upgrade these libraries because each has about 40 VIs and are rebuilt on average two times a week. The executables are used at a dozen places and I can't place the developer system on each computer, that is what the Builder and the Labview runtime engine is for.
About a month ago after doing very minor changes in one VI I rebuilt the library into an executable using the same build file and BANG, I get this linker error. After acknowledging Labview disappears (stealth crash). Well eventually I figured I had to copy the diagram of the VI I had changed (yes, complete with changes) to another blank VI. After deleting the old VI and renaming the new (it used to be blank) VI, I rebuilt it. Everything was fine.
Well I have tried to rebuild frequently after each change and save often several copies back a month but somehow this has been futile as the error is back in both libraries. In the two libraries I maintain there are as many as 20 VIs identical between the two libraries. I make a change in one VI in one of the libraries then use the library manager to copy it to the other library. This has worked hundreds of times over the last year and half. Well somehow the problem has come back in both libraries and I can't isolate the bad VI.
Obviously one (or maybe more!) of the VIs are put together wrong but Labview doesn't detect it. I don't use any fancy linking to anything other than DAQ and SERP drivers, everything else are simple VIs (just Labview code) with only the Labview supplied VIs talking to DLLs. I have tried my little cut and paste trick with the last few changed VIs but it didn't work. I tried to use Application Builder to build VIs seperately but that was useless. I tried elminating the lastest changed VIs from the library and rebuilding but to no avail. It fails approximately 1/4 to 1/3 into the build process bar indicator but the Builder doesn't say what file it is building so I can't relate it to any specific VI. Tried relating the bar position to a latest changed list and an alphabetical list but that was inconclusive.
This issue is currently being worked on by NI support but I want to try the resources of the developer community because this is such a rare problem with big implications (at least to me).

OK, NI support came through! If the library is mass compiled the typedef in my controls won't mess with the linker. Labview 6.1 solves this problem.
Since my email to NI support got returned I'm not sure they received it. The message is: it worked and thanks.

  • Labview 6.0.2 patch does not remove my "image.cpp" error

I have an industrial PC with the following characteristics:
    * Sharp LQ10D367 10.4" TFT screen, running a VGA driver (16 colours only option)
    * ROBO 608, Industrial SBC motherboard with onboard video driver, from Chips and Technologies, 69000; 2MB onboard video memory
The standard VGA driver is the most recent driver, and in fact the only one available for this hardware.
Labview 5.1 runs without problem on this machine, but when I loaded Labview 6 (with the 6.0.2 patch) it came up with an "image.cpp error, line 4150" every time I tried adding a graph to the front panel. Changing the screen acceleration properties did not make any difference.
Though I have gone back to version 5.1
for the time being, my application would benefit substantially from the current version.
Are there any fixes for this, or is Labview 6 simply not compatible with VGA screen drivers?
    Thanks,
    Jo

I have LV6.0.2 running on an Arcom SBC with the Chips and Technology 69000
HiQVideo 2MB display chip. This chip is not capable of rendering 3D graphics.
I have noticed the CPU will go to 100% usage if I open a sub-VI panel with lots
of the new 3D graphics on it, as the display chip passes rendering off to the
    main processor.
Perhaps you could try replacing the LV6 3D graphics with the older versions
that are available on the Controls pallet. At 16 colors the new graphics look
    terrible anyway.
I am running the chip at 1024 X 768 screen resolution and 65K colors with
    no other problems.

    Hello
Im currently having some issues with Premiero Pro (via creative suite 6) on a Windows 8 64 bit machine after reinstalling due to an error resulting in the encoding sequence crashing/hanging and remaining on 0% indefinitly
Video and audio were both taken via the same machine and are both in .MP4 format. The project will render correctly however will not export
Upon selection of export with match sequence settings enabled I receive the error box saying:
    Premiere Pro Debug Event
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814]
Upon closing the error the screen returns back to the work space. with an error box saying:Error compiling movie - unknown error. After this it again shows the infinite encoding screen.
I have tried uninstalling the programme and running any updates etc however I am unable to get it to work.
Would really appreciate an answer to this.Uninstalling and reinstalling is in itself a pain.
    Many thanks

3 yr/old windows pc, running win 7 has been unable to update iTunes for the past 3 updates. last time, after uninstalling iTunes, I installed the new version.
this time that failed. "insufficient privileges" msg stops the install. but, I am signed on as administrator, so it's puzzling.

It may be your firewall.  Just for the install, turn off the firewall, turn off power-saver to prevent computer from sleeping.  Also make sure your wifi will remain active with the computer.

  • Can you build an Labview app on windows and run it on the Linux Runtime Engine?

Our developers work on windows workstations but we would like to convert our test stands to linux. Can we run the apps they develop on Linux with the Linux Runtime?

No. VIs developed on Windows will run in the LabVIEW Linux development (assuming no Windows specific functions like ActiveX and DLL calls) but in order to run a built application on Linux you will need to rebuild them with the Linux application builder.

  • Premiere Pro (CS6) - Windows 7- [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814] error

    Hi,
I'm currently working on an animated music video to upload on YouTube fairly soon and while trying to export my video I get an error popup saying [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814].
I've had no problem exporting before and now this thing comes out of nowhere to ruin my day and my project haha.
I've resterted the project and the popup still appears. I even went to the extent of going back to Premiere Pro CS 5.5 but I receive  a popup saying  [..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-785]
...with another saying "Thank you for using "Adobe Device Control". The Adobe product that installed "Adobe Device Central" has not been activated. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use "Adobe Device Central" after it exports.
And,  when the project  does export, it exports with just the video with NO audio .
I have never had this issue before, it just randomly happened. I've use Premiere Pro going on 5 years now and have never had an issue until now. Someone or some hero please help me slay this dragon so I may post my awesome music video on YouTube. Thanks

I found a bug report on this exact crash. The developer's notes indicate that the crash occurs when Premiere gets an unexpected result when checking to see if a file is open. One thing that might work is to reboot the system, thereby closing any files that were basically in a bad state.
If that doesn't do the trick, then installing PPro CC as a trial should allow you to get around this.

    Hi All,
i have my applications in Forms6i under NT environment, can it be

... and they can also go back again !
The biggest pain is that NT is case insentive and linux is case
sensitive. It is very easy to develope under NT only to find
nothing compiles under linux because a library has mixed case -
my particular favourite is Ofgcall.pll (supplied from Designer)

  • [SOLVED] Installing Windows XP after Arch Linux

I'm not sure at all where to post this, so I've decided to do it here since I have the problem on a laptop... Please move if it should be somewhere else.
I installed Arch Linux on my new laptop a month ago or so, and am very pleased to have found the very kind of distro I've been looking for. However, I'm having trouble with my graphics (either wine doesn't support it, or the drivers don't have 2D/3D acceleration), and now I want to install Windows XP next to Arch Linux.
Using a GParted LiveCD, I've repartitioned the harddrive as such: Unpartitioned Space (27GB), Linux (197GB), SWAP (5GB).
I've also removed the bootable flag from the Linux partition, just to be sure. However, when I try to install Windows XP, it gets stuck after unpacking a bunch of drivers, giving me a bluescreen that tells me to make sure the hardware isn't broken, check my harddrive with CHKDSK /F, or look for viruses. Ofcourse I know none of these are true, since I'm running Arch Linux just fine.
A friend suggested that maybe my hardware isn't supported by Windows XP, which sounds like the most reasonable explanation so far, but I can't find a list of supported hardware. The M$ homepage basicly says
"Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended)"
for CPU, which doesn't help me at all.
    My hardware is:
    Processor: Intel Celeron 2.2 Ghz
    Memory: 2GB DDR2
    Graphics: Intel 4500MHD
And the laptop is called an "eMachines E525", though that doesn't say much since there are very, very many called this.
Can anyone give me any hints as to what I might be doing wrong?

Sounds like something I'll want to do. Where did you download the drivers? Do I have to follow some guide? Thanks for the tip
    EDIT:
    Indeed I will want to install AHCI drivers, otherwise Arch Linux fails to boot quite badly. There is also a problem preventing me from booting when I'm using AHCI though;
At boot, Arch Linux checks /dev/sda1 (NTFS) for errors, and expects to check an ext2 filesystem. Obviously, however, /dev/sda1 is an NTFS filesystem.
Since it tries to read the NTFS partition as an ext2 filesystem, it panics. Arch Linux then prompts me for the root password (or Ctrl+D to reboot), but I've disabled root login and can therefore do nothing at this point.
I have a GParted livecd and the Arch Linux livecd, so editing files on any of the filesystem isn't a problem at all, but I don't know what to do at this point. Help?
