you know,  youre right.
why dont you package up your capitol trash n8 that is buggier then anythinng else, and send it to me.   then,  go and get yourself a wp7 phone.
my guess,  with all 5 posts that you have mad like a troll spammer, is that you will realize that there is no phone that runs so smoothly...though does nothing but calls, basic email, **bleep** browser, sms/mms.
youre right.  if the unit and os cant do anything, it has not bugs.
on second thought,  maybe you could visit a disney store and pick yourself up a plastic tinkerbell flkip phone.  those are pretty popular.  and judging by the testament of your actual knowledge of the os, no one would even notice you using it, and you wouldnt even notice the differencde either with exception to the picture quality!
the most dificult part about using the tinkerbell phone is how youre going to explain it to your imaginary girlfriend.
in the words of one pelican bobbing in the water next to another pelican where a stinky bubble comes up...  NICE post.

  • Windows LIVE on Nokia N80

    Hi,
Yesterday my Windows Live for Nokia S60 version 1.0.8161, stopped working. Also My MSN on windows 2000 Pro, stopped working, but after looking at :
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms07-054.mspx
and update to build 820 it worked again, but the WinLIVE on N80 still will not logon.
I must say that I used it on work via a bluecoat proxy appliance, and connecting via an open hotspot it does actually work.
I think the proxy might be inforcing some of MS updateplans, and that this might not be a Nokia problem. Maybe it looka at some version and allows the new ones only.
So can we expect a new version of the winLIVE for N80 ?

I'm looking for this too. I had downloaded it and installed it from the downloads utility on the phone. It is still here on the support page http://www.nokia.co.uk/get-support-and-software/download-software/windows-live/how-to-download  but when the catalog is updated there is no msn live. I lost mine when my phone was repaired.
Windows live now seem to give all the functionality through a web interface ( mobile.live.com ) but for some reason I cant log in. When ever i click in the password box i can type nothing in it. Also my existing live account is a live.co.uk address which isn't in the drop down list!
    any suggestions

  • Windows 2000 and Nokia Cable Drivers and PC Suite

Appears Nokia does not support Windows 2k. Even though their web page states the USB Cable CA-101 driver, Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver_rel_7_0_2_0_eng.msi, per their line "Nokia Cable Driver for Windows 2000, XP and Vista" on the web page says so. frustrating. Already aware that PC Suite version 7 is not supported in Win2k.
Is there a driver out there for the USB Cable CA-101 that will connect to the phone running Windows 2000? and allow at least the sd memory card be accessed for data transfer and other functions? thank you.

    Hi exergonico,
Which device are you using?  Do you have CD that came along with your device?  Could you please Search(Google) for Nokia PC Suite 6.85 or 6.86 nokia pc suite version and install on your pc to check this issue?

  • Windows 7 and Nokia 920

I have had my Nokia 920 since November and am generally very happy with the phone, except for one small detail.  I can only access the files on the phone if the battery is at 100%.  If the battery needs any charging when I plug the phone into my computer then the computer attempts to charge the phone instead of browsing the files.  This is a terrible feature and there should be an option to determine the expected behaviour of the phone when connected to a PC, either charging, or mass storage device/MTP mode.  I do not charge my phone with a PC as the phone requires much more power than the PC can provide it, so it should not bother trying and just let me look at the files.  The current behaviour is as follows:
    1. Plug in phone
    2. See files in explorer
    3. Phone disappears from explorer and the charge icon is displayed on the phone
    4. Phone shows back up in explorer
    5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 about ten times before phone is gone in explorer completely.
Any ideas or help on this subject would be appreciated.

This sounds like more of an issue with your computer or USB ports than a phone issue. I can connect my 920 to my Windows 7 PC at any battery level to browse or transfer media.
Have you checked that the USB drivers for your PC are fully up to date? Also it may be worth trying a different USB cable.

  • Window Phone 8: Nokia E7 successor.

Hi Nokia, quick questions. Will you be releasing a WP8 successor to the excellent E7-00? If so, will you pack it with features similar to Lumia 920 but *without* wireless charging...?
Wishlist: All the features of Lumia 920 - but without wireless charging. I'd like a quality QWERTY keyboard for blog writing on the move. Oh and the ability to load BBC iPlayer (Pureview camera system and a 4.5 inch screen is a MUST)
    Thanks, R

Unfortunately Nokia will not comment on unannounced, unreleased products here, all you can do is keep waiting and hoping.
I do believe that Nokia is in talks with the BBC about making the iPlayer compatible with WP8 in the UK.

  • Already Converted 10 of my family members over to AT&T for Nokia Lumia 900!!!

    Verizon,
You decided to drag you feet, promote the crap out of Android and stop supporting Windows Phone 7.
So I converted 10 of my family members over yesterday to AT&T for the Nokia Lumia 900.
I got them $100 credit towards the Nokia Lumia 900 which AT&T was charging $99 dollars for the phone on Pre-Order.
So my family members only had to pay $36 for the activation fee.
Verizon, you had your chance.  You had multiple chances.  If you truly wanted an LTE Windows Phone 7 from Microsoft, you could have easily worked something out with them, just like AT&T did.
All the information has been leaked out, Apollo/Windows Phone 8 was supposed to have LTE but because AT&T showed that they really were interested in Windows Phone 7 and actually carring a lineup of Windows Phone 7, Microsoft worked it out for them.
So you can take all your Droid crap that you have heavily invested in, along with all your iPhone 4s that keep hogging all the bandwidth on your network and stick it were the sun don't shine.
I promise you this, when my contract is done I will be terminating my account in FULL and switching over to AT&T as well.
To not even stand behind a product that we all have signed 2 year contracts with is unacceptable for the price were paying.  To hold back all updates besides Mango is unacceptable just to lock in new 2 year contracts.  And I'm talking about Droid too.
Carriers should not be in controll of phone updates PERIOD!!!  Updates should be released from the OS Manufactures just like on computers.  This business model that the industry has created is a SCAM, JOKE and an INSULT to everyone that puts there hard earned money up for phone service.
Verizon, you have lost all respect in my book, and I will do everything possible to get everyone and everybody I talk to away from your network.
Only way to solve this issue is to address the Windows Phone 7 community and actually annouce something, PERIOD!!!  Release the 8107 update as a good faith measure and issue a press release stating your business model regarding Windows Phone 7... Unless you want more dollars going to AT&T.
Also, latest news shows that Android only made $22million in revenues last year, and spend $20 billion acquiring Motorola.  So I don't see Andriod being able to do much in the year 2012 to ramp things up to compete against Windows Phone 7/Nokia and Apple.
Do Something, NOW!!! CAN YOU HEAR US NOW!!!
Also, here's another suggestion... Do like AT&T has done and give users a early termination fee to get out of there contracts.  I believe they charge $35 dollars or something higher if your not satisified and want to terminate your contract early.
Since you don't want to support or offer any more Windows Phone 7, why keep us as unhappy customers.  Give us an option to pay a early termination fee and leave!!!

What news are you reading? Android is not a company but a phone operating system. GOOGLE acquired Motorola, not Android. GOOGLE's 2011 revenues were 37.9 billion, NOT 22 million. Google acquired Motorola for 12.5 billion, NOT 20 billion.

Again, where are you getting this information? The AT&T ETF is $325 less $10 for each month of your contract which has been completed. It is NOT $35. Verizon has a similar, although slightly higher ETF of $350 less $10 for each month of your contract which has been completed.
Yes, we can hear you, but you are not making any sense!

  • Screen Captures for Windows 7.5/7.8 Phones

I see that Windows 8.0 phones have the ability to capture a screen print to a file (Start + Power). Will this be present in WP 7.8? If not, can Nokia develop an app for it? I did see on the XDA-Developers web site that such an App was developed, but it has never been certified by Microsoft for the Windows store.

This is probably correct, but is there any reason that it cannot be made available for the normal featureset? It would certainly come in handy when reporting bugs, or asking questions..Etc.

  • Problems with Windows 7 home premium and ovi

    Excuse me for my english.
    I've a big problem with Windows 7 and NOKIA N97 32G
I install the latest version of Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42. When I connect the phone with USB and select PC suite mode in the phone, OVI don't see the phone and say method not compatible.
    I can't synchronize the phone.
    Help me.
    Thanks

I just want to say that many Nokia Ovi Suite problems have showed up for me recently. I tried everything (including many reinstalls, cleans, etc.) and nothing helped.
    Finally I found the solution:
I realized that I have installed Service Pack 1 on Windows 7 (32-bit), and this stopped Ovi Suite from working correctly. The solution is to run Ovi Suite in compatibility mode as "Windows 7"
(You may be surprised to run an application in "Windows 7" compatibility mode on Windows 7. But after installing Service Pack, it is no longer "Windows 7" but it is now "Windows 7 SP1"! This is different. So "Windows 7" is the old mode without the service pack, and in this old mode Ovi Suite works.)
Concluding: After installing Service Pack 1 just use compatibility mode as "Windows 7" to run Ovi Suite, and this program should work OK (at least for me it works on a 32-bit OS).
PS. My version of Ovi Suite is 3.0.0.290

  • Nokia PC Suite support for Outlook and Thunderbird

    Hi,
I am currently using the Microsoft Outlook 2007 combined with Nokia PC Suite to synchronize the contents of the Outlook with my Nokia N73 smartphone. I am now considering to switch e-mail client from Microsoft Outlook to the Mozilla Thunderbird. So my question is then, is Nokia PC Suite compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird?
I have in fact already installed Thunderbird, but it is not available as an option anywhere in the settings for Nokia PC Suite. All I can find in the Nokia PC Suite settings is a tab called "Microsoft Outlook" where I can choose the different Outlook profiles or change settings. In my humble opinion there should be a new tab added called "Thunderbird" or similar right next to the "Microsoft Outlook" tab in the settings for Nokia PC Suite after installing another e-mail client such as the Mozilla Thunderbird.
I know that there is this option to choose what e-mail client to use upon installing Nokia PC Suite, where I have chosen Outlook. Does this mean that I have to reinstall Nokia PC Suite to get this choice to choose e-mail client to use? If I do reinstall Nokia PC Suite, will I even get to this option at all? Since I am only reinstalling Nokia PC Suite and it is already configured once to be used with Outlook, I'm thinking that maybe this option will not even appear upon reinstalling Nokia PC Suite.
I don't have a clear memory of it but I think I once reinstalled Nokia PC Suite for some reason and I was not presented with this option to choose e-mail client as the first time I installed it. So this may require complete uninstallation and deletion of files and Windows registry for Nokia PC Suite, and then a fresh installation of it to get to this window where to choose e-mail client.
Even when and if I get to that window, it's no guarantee that I will be able to choose Thunderbird even thou it's installed. Why? Because I know from experience that commercial and proprietary software like Nokia PC Suite tends to only support the industry standard platforms and systems and applications, or de-facto industry standards like the extensively used Microsoft Outlook and other Microsoft products. I know by experience that such software as Nokia PC Suite love to lick Microsoft's **bleep**. Don't you think?... or don't you know? You disagree? Well lay it on me, tell me what you think!
I would love to be able to synchronize my mobile phone with my computer, even if I may use a Linux or other nix-like operating system. But if Nokia PC Suite doesn't even support e-mail clients other then Microsoft Outlook, such as the Thunderbird, then it's probably too much to ask for a Linux support for Nokia PC Suite. Or is it?... does Nokia PC Suite support Linux?...

    Thanks for your answers!
By this time I have made a clean install of Windows Vista at least three times, and on one occasion I remembered to check this this thesis of mine that I mentioned above. So for the purpose of testing if it's true that the Nokia PC Suite installation process or Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard does not present the user with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as e-mail client, I have done the following.
I have made a completely clean, out of the box installation of Windows Vista on the computer (retail version, non-custom branded Vista version). After installing the needed and important drivers for the system and other software required for the proper operation of the system and few other software, I went on installing Microsoft Office with Outlook 2007 as one of the first software applications. Then I installed Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird. After I had done that, I installed the Nokia PC Suite.
As my thesis predicted, after successfully installing Nokia PC Suite and the Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard was started, I was not presented with the option to choose Mozilla Thunderbird as my e-mail client, even thou both Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird were installed prior to or before Nokia PC Sync. In other words, if this was a limitation of the Nokia PC Suite or it's installer, where it does not recognize e-mail clients that are installed after Nokia PC Suite itself, then installing the e-mail clients in this order should make Nokia PC Suite recognize it. But it did not, or at least as long as the Mozilla Thunderbird is concerned. Thus, this proves my thesis - Nokia PC Suite is currently not compatible with Mozilla Thunderbird. And Mobile Sensei Petrib confirms this also.
Here follows a screenshot of the actual Nokia PC Sync configuration wizard.
    http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/9803/nokiapcsyncsd3.jpg
I'm afraid we will have to bear with this. I personally don't believe that there will ever be any official release of Nokia PC Suite that will have full support (or any at all) for other e-mail clients then just Microsoft Outlook and Lotus, or that there will be any official Linux or nix-like version of it. Not today, not in next five years, and not in one thousand light-years from today. We can hope, but the odds are pointing in the opposite direction.
So bear with Microsoft Outlook, and the Windows **bleep**. No pay, no play! Unfortunately... fortunate for Microsoft, Nokia, and others alike, but unfortunate for us end users.
