Windows software update
I have problem with downloading windows software update in boot camp. The download reached almost half of the bar. What should I do?

Mac software showing up in Windows Software update?
I am getting all sorts of software and updates showing up in the software and update window. Even bootcamp updates show up on a Windows PC - uh?
Is this just me or are we supposed to filter out the programs and updates from 20 or so options?
John D-EI suspect that the numbers may be notes added in such a way that Preview does not recognize it. I would use Adobe Reader to see if it can display them. Adobe Reader does things that Preview does not, and vice versa. Personally, I think it is worthwhile to have it just to display pdf files in Safari.

Mac Mini, USB, BootCamp and Windows Software Updates
Right so ive recently bought a Mac Mini and Installed Windows 7 Home on it.
First time went a bit haywire and now ive managed to sort it.
Ive downloaded the WindowsSupport updates for the Mac but its stuck in my Mac OSX.
When i log onto Windows there are no drivers and it does not recognise my External Hard Drive, so i cant install the updates. Because i cant install the drivers i have no internet connection on Windows.
Its really frustrating me now, ive been at it for a good couple of days and i just cant find the solution to the problem.
The Mac Mini has no Disc drive and i dont want to buy one. I only want to transfer the Drivers so everything works fine in Windows.
Can anyone help?

Thanksitake it you have lion yea bad news you kinda need the mac drivers disk that is created by boot camp there is another way of doing it without internet access but you need a usb thumb drive.
Here is how you do it
1. plug in the usb thumb drive in mac os x
2. go to utilitys
3. go to disk utility click the thumb drive erase drive as ms dos partition fat32
4. once thats completed close disk utility
5. now copy your drivers to the thumb drive (but be farwarned you need the apple bootcamp drivers without those drivers you will not be able to leave windows and return to mac os x without the bootcamp control panel) -
Software Updates, Tray Pop-ups and Maintenance Windows
I will try to keep it to the point.
End Users in Europe power down their machines every night. Patch Tuesday rolls around, we set the deadline to patch for one week
later (the following Tuesday) @ 10pm.
So they come in that following Wednesday morning, power on their system and bam, software updates are installed and reboots are forced right
there in their earlier AM which is upsetting them.
Our settings? Deployment is required, detail level is “only success and error messages”, “Display in Software Center and show all notifications”, and when the installation
deadline is reached allow the following activities to be performed outside the maintenance window: “Software Update Installation” and “System Restart”.
So before I get a whole bunch of, “disable reboots” or “notify your users” or “use WOL”. I want to discuss this on another angle.
We are getting reports that users are not seeing the notifications. As you can see it is set to all notifications. Likely they are happening and they are not seeing
them.
Main Question: Is there a way via a registry tweak or client setting that will do one of the following:
Make the tray popups more frequent
Make the tray popups last longer
Bring the main “hey things to patch screen” come up without clicking the tray popup
Anything we can do to make the notification BEFORE the deadline more in their faces would be ideal. Anyone?This happened because patch updates reached deadline and installed forcefully and restart the machines. from
the software center and system tray. Just configure that in the deployment
Unless the site wide hide deployments option is selected,
you will get icons in the system tray. When that is selected, you do NOT get icons at all. If this is enabled, but you suppress the deployment itself, then you get the icons but not balloons.

Software Updater doesn't work, can't shut down my mac
Hi,
I am using the Mac OS 10.5 and have a problem with my Software Updater. If I open the "Software Updater" from the Apple-Menu nothing happens, if i press on the button "Software Updater" in the "About this Mac" window, again no reaction. If I open the "System Preferences" and click there on "Search" in the window "Software Updater" again nothing happens.
I have another problem which might occured at the same time as the discribed above. If I shutdown my mac it starts shutting down but then goes to the LogIn menu of my account, if i try to shut it down there it starts shutting down and comes back to the logIn menu.
The problem startet to occure after I ones interrupted the software update.
Yesterday I installed the Combo Update for Mac OS X 10.5.6 (before 10.5.5) which I downloaded from the Apple website, but it didnt help. Basicaly before I installed the update the buttons for the Sofware Updater couldnt even been clicked and if I was shutting down the notebook it went to this supernova background picture which I had when i was turning on my mac for the first time.
Any ideas how i can solve this problems? Searched the web but could find anything.

ZheIt sounds like the aborted software update messed up your system.
I'd opt for an Archive & Install of Mac OS X using your Leopard DVD. -
Off-line Lion Software Update Server?
So here's the scenario
I have a private network that needs Updates and have a Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4 Server running at a spearate location with internet access.
Is there a way to off-load the content that is downloaded the (Software Update Server) and transport it to the private network and distribute?
We do this with a Windows Software update server as well without issue but the Mac method is new to me.
ThanksWell. I just checked four of my Software Update Servers..... Lion Server 10.7.4 and they continues to have problems with the "Server Essentials" group of updates - 5 of them with Post Dates of 6/11/2012 and 6/13/2012.
I'm seeing this at four physically and network(ly) seperate sites in the greater Bay Area.
All other updates cleared a few days ago but from my discussion with Apple Enterprise Tech Support.... the engineers just now, they are still "Working on it" thus aware of the issue. Apparently with most engineers at WWDC last week, not a lot got done or is getting done yet this week and so the issue is still "Open" and known at this point -
Software updates - Clients stuck in passed/Inactive, passed/Active
I've deployed some software updates (an update group that has a deployment package of Windows Software Updates) to a small collection, but for the past couple days since I kicked off the deployment, all the assets in the collection are just
sitting with either of these two statuses.
There's no maintenance window on this collection, and deployment schedule was set to "As Soon As Possible".
I've tried running Software Updates Deployment Evaluation and Software Updates Scan Cycles multiple times thoughout the day but the clients do not appear to be pulling down any updates yet.
What should I be checking for at this point? Or just wait a couple days?When it comes to maintenance windows, they just dont affect the clients that reside in the collection where the maintenance window is configured. If you have configured Coll1 to include all of your clients, and configured a maintenance window on
that collection, if you then created Coll2 and added some of your clients to that, those clients would still get the configured maintenance window from Coll1. So check if you don't have any maintenance windows configured on another collection where you clients
are members of.

To respond to this, I can say that I do not have any maintenance windows applied to this sub-collection, nor any other collections that the clients would be direct or indirect members of. -
I cannot update my ipad2 to ios5. Updating through iTunes on pc Windows Vista, Error message reads "cannot connect to iPad Software Update Server. Tried resetting network settings, still not connecting. Tried updating iTunes, still not connecting.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server. this is the message that i get a few days now that i am trying to install windows through boot camp to my macbook!does anybody knows what i can do????
You keep it on the usb stick for after you boot into Windows. From Windows you install the Windows Support software on the stick. Do you realize that you need to buy and install Windows? The Windows Support software you downloaded is only the Windows drivers for your hardware.

When I run the Apple Software update, it tells me that iCloud and iTunes have invalid signature and will not be downloaded. When I DL iTunes64setup.exe, the program will not start (there's a bar that flashes but nothing actually begins). I've done everything short of reinstalling Windows to fix this (system resore, unistalling all Apple products, taking down firewall, running Windows FixIt - which either won't find the problem or gives me an error saying that the troubleshooter cannot be downloaded at this time, going into the security features to allow programs without valid signatures, trying to install earlier versions of iTunes). It all started when I downloaded the Decemberists new album on my iPhone, and it wasn't downloading it properly so I connected it to my Dell, but some songs still wouldn't DL - also, the newest OS for my iPhone still won't install via WiFi - and so I uninstalled iTunes first, but nothing is helping. And I don't have any security issues (Norton has checked). Any ideas? I'm at my wit's end after 3 days of this. Thank you.
Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!

Not able to access Itunes store anymore. Just quit working for no reason. I've tried deleting Itunes and related components from the Control Panel, but when I try to remove Apple Software Update, I get a message that states "There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor". Not sure what this message means. Am I suppose to contact Apple ? What is meant by package vendor ?
Apparently it's an itunes issue. I just tried to update and got the same issue. Called att to activate my iphone 4s and they say they can do the swap but apple is telling them itunes is down atm. So will have to wait

My goal is to activate Boot Camp and the install Windows 7 in 64 bit mode on my 15" MacBook Pro (mid 2010 model)

1. I ran software update and am up to date. Does this mean that my yet to be activated Boot Camp ap is also up to date?
There are 4 confusing pages of updates listed at Apples website for Boot Camp. I am having a hard time understanding what I need and don't need. For example, what version of Boot Camp do I have? I have Boot Camp Assistant version 3.0.4. Does this mean I have Boot Camp ver 3?
2. The printed Boot Camp instructions do not explain the process of using downloaded Windows drivers; the instuctions only refer to drivers on the original disks. I have the original install disks from around mid 2010 but I am sure many things have been updated by now. Wouldn't the best idea be to download and install? But the instructions only cover using the original disks. How do I use downloaded drivers?D_avid wrote:

You have Mac OS X Snow Leopard, so you are going to use Boot Camp 3 on Windows. After installing Windows 7 on your MacBook, insert the Snow Leopard DVD and install the Boot Camp drivers from here. Then, as the Boot Camp drivers that your Snow Leopard disc contain are outdated, open Apple Software Update on Windows to install the most recent Boot Camp drivers.

On Snow Leopard, you can only download the Boot Camp drivers for the Late 2010 MacBook Air. On Lion and Mountain Lion, you have to download the Boot Camp drivers for all the computers. If you try to download the Boot Camp drivers on Snow Leopard with your computer, you will get a message telling that there aren't any drivers to download for your MacBook Pro -
About once a month I receive the Software update notice that has failed. How do I find out who/what is trying to update? If I decided I want this update how do I allow it to continue? If I decided I do not want this update how do I stop it and its attempt to update? The only response allowed is "OK". When OK is selected the window goes away and nothing else happens.

Yes your cabinet 10 on the Crediton exchange has already been installed and linked with a FTTC DSLAM cabinet (making it able to provide FTTC fibre broadband) and has been Accepting FTTC orders since December 2013. PCP10 (with it's DSLAM cabinet within 100meters of it) is locate on the junction of Commercial Road and the A3072.
However by the looks of things your are just too far away to obtain a FTTC (VDSL2) connection, meaning FTTC fibre broadband is not available to you.
