Windows XP Professional x64 Edition & NVIDIA boards

Has anyone here tried this OS? If so what did you think of it?
It absolutely ROCKS on my K8N Neo Platinum....

AMD64 is not software, it is hardware, more correctly it is AMD's latest greatest CPU that was released one year ago. AMD64 is a cpu that uses both 32-bit and 64-bit software at the same exact time. Windows XP and Windows XP x64 are two diferent Operating Systems, one is 32-bit and has been around for a long time now and the other is 64-bit and is still in BETA stage. Microsoft has given us the chance to try this new 64-bit OS for free by letting us download it from their site. If you have an AMD64 cpu and 64-bit capable hardware you get a free chance to try a 64-bit OS.

I use the MSI K8N Neo Platinum motherboard which has an NVIDIA nForce3 250Gb chipset onboard which is capable of running 64-bit AMD64 cpu's and software. I love the new found "FREE" performance...

I am running windows XP profession X64 edition and it is necessary for me to install and use Adobe reader 9.  Please advise procedure(s)

If you're NEVER going to EVER open a PDF, then no, it wouldn't be necessary. But you're going to be in an extremely rare set of circumstances if that's going to be the case.
Otherwise, you'll need it, and Reader 11 works with XP Pro.

how can i install itunes 11.0.1 on windows xp professional x64 edition

I have eventually managed to resolve my issue by:
    1) Installing "Segoe UI" fonts in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder.
    2) Changing my default colour profile to "sRGB Color Space Profile".
Navigate to My Computer > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Color Management.
Click Add button and select sRGB Color Space Profile.icm from the Add Profile Association pop-up window.
    Select sRGB Color Space Profile.
Click on the Set as Default button.
    Click on Apply, OK, OK.

  • Install iTunes on Windows XP Pro x64 Edition

I just recently purchased a new system (Windows 64-bit) running XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2.
Is iTunes supported for XP Pro x64 Edition?
    Thanks for any help.

No, there is no 64 bit edition of iTunes for Windows XP, only Vista.
You can, however, install the 32 bit version. You will then have to download and install the 64 bit Gear drivers for burning from the Gear site:
    http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm
Unfortunately you can not get the 64 bit drivers for the iPhone and Touch. If you have one of these, you may find this link interesting:

MSI Live Update not working Windows XP Professional 64bit Edition!!!

Thank you so much. I just want to say I really appreciate when people do take the time to post me in return. So I really mean it, Thank You.
A quick question. You see, I have been upgrading my computer. I installed a Belkin USB USB Card (high speed 2.0) cause I needed more USB ports. Then I checked for compatable RAM and upgraded my RAM from 512MB to 2Gigs. Everything alright.
Now, I have checked for processors that are compatable with my board K9VGM-V (MS-7253). And MSI's chart says mine is compatable with the AMD Athlon 2x 6000 (3.0Ghz) *IF* I use the 89 watt and not the 125 watt. Here is a good URL for the processor details I found:
    http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K8/AMD-Athlon%2064%20X2%206000+%20-%20ADA6000IAA6CZ%20(ADA6000CZBOX).html
Now do you have any tips and I will probably have to flash to BIOS for sure after this upgrade won't I?

Hi, i have a macbook pro version 10.6.8 with boot camp version 3.0.4. • Trying to migrate from Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows 7 Professional (x64). Have issues. Please help. Thank you.

I have a 128 GB SSD drive and I bought a 512 GB SSD recently.  I used the disk copy utility to copy all the information from the 128 GB drive to the 512 GB drive. However, Windows 7 Ultimate N x64 is asking me to enter my key for validation. Unfortunately,
I cannot find the key used to install Windows 7 Ultimate N. When I used another valid key for Windows 7 Ultimate N, it would not accept the key because it is looking for the original key.  Since I didn't want to do a clean install, I was
willing to 'upgrade' to Windows 7 Professional x64. I went into the registry and changed the Product Name to Windows 7 PROFESSIONAL and I changed the EditionID to Professinal. When I was trying to install Windows 7 Professional, I received the following message:
The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.
Your current version of Windows is more recent than the version you are trying to upgrade to. Windows cannot complete the upgrade.
There is not enough free space on partition (K:). A total of 15 megabytes (MB) of free disk space is required. Try Disk Cleanup, or moving files to an external location such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive, and then restart the installation.
When I tried to rename one of my drive to K using disk management, it says the drive letter K is already mapped to a network share or a local path.  In order to see the volume after the operation, you must remove current mapping.
What am I doing wrong?  Please help. Thank you so much.

You can't just change the product name and have it work.  At this point your best bet is to
go to this thread and follow the directions and post your results in a new thread in
the Windows Genuine Forums.  That way, they can determine exactly which type of install you have and what your options are.

iTunes is a 32 bit program.
The 64 bit installer has 64 bit drivers for burning and the iPhone.

  • Oracle Data Access Components and Windows XP Professional x64

To start I'm running Windows XP Professional x64, using IIS 6, and Visual Studio 2005. I have a web service project that uses ODAC 11g, which runs just fine when I run it in debugging mode. However when I publish the project and try to access it through IE, I get an application error saying that Oracle.Web or one of its dependencies could not be loaded. Now I suspect that this might be happening becuase I'm running on a 64-bit machine, but I'm not convinced. The web service worked just fine on a 32 bit windows running IIS 5. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be awesome. Thanks!

  • Is the Creative ZEN compatible with Windows XP Pro x64 editi

Hello, I recently bought a Zune and then found out it wasn't compatible with my OS, XP Pro x64. I installed the software on my laptop, but it was just too troublesome to set everything up and exchange music, videos, etc. between the two machines. So I've decided to return the Zune and get a Zen instead. I'd really like to buy the ZEN 8GB, but it does not state whether or not the x64 edition is supported. The ZEN V Plus states that the software does support the OS, so if I have to get that one, I don't mind. Thanks.

CRe: Is the Creative ZEN compatible with Windows XP Pro x64 edition?H I recently bought a Zen 8GB mp3 player. I have an xp x64 pro OS. As soon as I tried to instal the included software from the CD, a dialogue box appeared stating, "The windows operating system running on this computer is not supported by this product." I have done everything the technical assistance group has suggested with the samed result including a clean install. I did load it on my 32 bit laptop. It works fine. ONe of the problems I have found is that the correspondance goes to a different person each time and they are not reading the dialogue. I have found a way to make it work (well somewhat) with my 64 bitg machine. Oddly enough thed software for my zen V load on fine but the software is incampatable with the Zen 8GB unit. I think that there are softwarfe problems and CT is not really dealing with them.

    Hello,
I ran into the same problem searching for the 1.4.2 JDK for Windows x64 platform and found this discussion post. It was helpful!
Could you tell me where to download the JCE policy files from? Do they need to match the same JDK version (1.4.2)?
The Install Guide for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 Java on Windows MS SQL Server says to download the JCE policy files for your platform (Windows x64) from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads. But I could only find jce_policy-6.zip. Is that the right JCE policy files for Windows 2003 x64 64bit platform for SUN JSE 1.4.2 64bit?
    Thanks,
