Wine - probably nt.dll error.

Hi.
I try to run a game, which used to work just fine on my previous hardware.
It has platinum rank on appdb. When I execute it, menu comes up and then game freezes with error:
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f3f0,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:d3d:WineD3D_ChoosePixelFormat Add OpenGL context recreation support to SetDepthStencilSurface
fixme:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Acquire Clipping cursor to (440,0)-(1246,625)
fixme:ddraw:IDirectDrawImpl_RestoreAllSurfaces (0x12e228): Stub
fixme:ddraw:IDirectDrawImpl_WaitForVerticalBlank (0x12e228)->(1,(nil)): Stub
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x7b6b8040 "x11drv_main.c: X11DRV_CritSection" wait timed out in thread 001b, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec)
fixme:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Acquire Clipping cursor to (440,25)-(1246,650)
The strange thing is - it's runs smooth for 3-5 seconds and then crashes. After some research I found out that it may be caused by some multi-threading error in wine (I have AMD X2 240 and integrated Radeon HD 4200, powered up by fglrx driver).
It's all the same for every version . I have tried even an another distro, but the outcome doesn't change.
On additional note: some other games/apps work just fine.
How can I solve this?

Update:
Installation of catalyst-beta drivers eliminated the nt.dll error, the game doesn't crash anymore, but runs painfully slow, while the whole system is responsive and other non-native games run in 60 fps. I tried to edit direct3d entry in registry of wine, but that doesn't do the trick. Tried aticonfig --psuedo-color=on too. Error log looks like that now:
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f434,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to 16
fixme:d3d:WineD3D_ChoosePixelFormat Add OpenGL context recreation support to SetDepthStencilSurface
fixme:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Acquire Clipping cursor to (0,0)-(800,600)
fixme:ddraw:IDirectDrawImpl_RestoreAllSurfaces (0x138e50): Stub
In my alternative linux distro, on the other partition, the game runs smooth but crashes, so it's like reversed situation.
Update 2:
It seems that it works flawless in windowed mode, but has issues in fullscreen - even in wine's virtual desktop. My wild guess was "vsync", but disabling it solved nothing.
fixme:ddraw:IDirectDrawImpl_WaitForVerticalBlank (0x145e18)->(1,(nil)): Stub

  • Hal.dll error during/after Win XP SP2 installation

At the moment I'm trying to install Win XP (SP2) into a bootcamp partition. I have a Mac Pro with 4 HDDs.
    HDD1: OSX
    HDD2: free
    HDD3: OSX Data (raid 1)
    HDD4: OSX Data (raid 1)
The setup I'd like to have is:
    HDD2:
    (1) Bootcamp-Partition (NTFS ~75GB)
    (2) Bootcamp-Scratch (NTFS ~150GB)
    (3) Scratch (HFS+ ~250GB)
I partitioned the disk that way (with FAT32 instead of NTFS) and booted from the Windows install disk. The installer starts, reformats disk (1) to NTFS and copies data onto the disk.
After the first reboot it breaks with hal.dll error. The files are on the disk but boot.ini seems to be corrupt. The "bootcfg" command from the recovery console is not working - it only duplicates the wrong entry in boot.ini.
After the third non-working installation I tried to move the Bootcamp-Partition into the middle, OSX in front:
    (1) Scratch (HFS+ ~250GB)
    (2) Bootcamp-Partition (NTFS ~75GB)
    (3) Bootcamp-Scratch (NTFS ~150GB)
    Same error.
Any hints on howto do that? Or will I have to move the Bootcamp-Disk to the end? How to succeed in having the Bootcamp-Scratch as 'D:' in Windows if I swap those two partitions?
BTW: I succeeded to install WinXP on the same disk before. Back then I only had a 75GB Bootcamp-Partition on the disk (no other partition) and had the disk in Bay 3. But I moved it to Bay 2 because of performance problems in Bay3/4 (PIO-mode) and don't want to waste 400GB in the future .

First of all I believe this is not the right place to discuss the issue. This issue is related to the Windows operating system file corruption and I think the physical location of the hard drive is not the cause of the issue.
The hal.dll file is a system file which holds the hardware access layer information and linking the necessary components. This include the information about all the hardware resources for the operating system. What you had done to change the hardware configuration files in the boot.ini looks ok. Also you can try this link.

Have been using every version of PS thru CS6, now with CC. When right clicking a photo to open, I get ui.dll error saying to fix re-install. Checking ui.dll in LR 5.6 it says it is 3.53 MB. Have gone through try ing to fix it with 5.5 ui.dll, one I get when trying to find one to change  in X64 folder, re-naming one found in original folder to ui.dll it doesn't work. HOW do I get it to work as it did in ALL versions before?

I don't have the error details, but eversince I installed WSPP, I have been having crash problems.
Mailny when publishing to my site.I notice the RAM usage is upto about 2.5 Gb (have 12gb on board)

  • Msxml6.dll error causing roll back on PSE 9 install.

I just bought PSE 9 today. I've never used it or any previous versions before, and at this rate I probably never will. I've spent the last four hours trying to get this program to install to no avail. What I thought was going to offer me a fun new hobby has done nothing but provide me with a whole lot of frustration. Tech savy, I am not, and after searching this site, its forums, and elsewhere on the net, I have been unable to find a solution that actually solves my issue.
I don't know what information is pertinent for proper troubleshooting, but I'm trying to install on a Vista. The install seems to get very close to what I would image to be success, before crashing. The stated cause being an error with msxml6.dll.
I would be a very happy individual if someone can offer me some help with this.

Googling for msxml6.dll error got me here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-system/error-cwindowssystem 32msxml6dll-is-either-not/5f9f4f2d-e124-4dc9-90ea-1b668a7cfc63

  • Hal.dll error error message: here is the solution !

Thanks to endership for the procedure. For people who were getting the hal.dll missing file error message or for those who are wondering about the right way to install Windows XP SP2 with Bootcamp, here is the steps you have to follow.
    1) First, get an original Windows XP SP2 cd and be sure that your CD is bootable and that you can access the recovery console in a repair function (not all the cds got the function, so be careful).
2)After, you go in Apple applications, utilities and you click on the boot camp assistant
3)If you got a Windows partition already created that is not working, resulting from a bad installation of Windows with bootcamp, just merge the two partitions (windows and mac os x) using the restore function.
4)Use 32 Go for Windows (default option) and be sure that your Windows cd is in the drive and launch the installation.
Computer will reboot in the installation program after that all the drivers has been loaded (the blue screen lasting about 5 minutes).
5)Once your are in the installation menu, just select the option that takes you to the repair console.
6)You will get a C: command line, sort of MS-DOS. Like mentionned enderfish, type "diskpart" to visualize the partitions created and be sure that the c: drive is labeled "bootcamp". Just return to repair console in the c: command line.
    7)type the following command line:
    FORMAT c: /Q /FS:NTFS
You will get a quick format of the c: drive in the NTFS file system. It will also probably work in FAT32, but I've never tried.
8)After that the format has been done, hit the POWER button to reboot.
9)You will be back in the installation menu; you'll also have to wait once again during 5 minutes for the drivers loading process.
10)Once you get in the installation blue screen, just choose the partition that has been created and choose to let the file system intact.
11)Windows XP will be copying install files on the HD, install Windows XP SP2.
12)Once, the installation is done and you entered in Windows (if you followed the instructions carefully), insert in the cd drive, the Leopard CD and install Windows drivers.
    13)Reboot
    14)Enjoy!

In my experience (because this happened to me), I found that it was a -user error- (mine). I reviewed Apple's instructions (which said to reformat the BOOTCAMP partition) and DELETED the BOOTCAMP "C:" partition (from within the XP installer) first. When you do this, it combines with partition with the "unused" 128MB partition that separates the Mac partition from "C:".
Apparently the 128MB partition really -is- used for something; probably to help redirect XP to the proper location to find hal.dll (which is why the file -even if repaired/replaced- continues to be reported as missing/corrupted). Even XP's automatic repair won't fix this issue (as it proceeds to copy -everything- anew and still fail upon reboot with the same error).
The answer seems to be "don't delete the C: partition". Instead, just select it, hit ENTER and, -in the next screen-, format the partition (Quick is OK). Everything proceeds properly at that point.
I just finished doing seven iMacs and tried quite a number of alternate solution (suggested here and elsewhere). The only thing that worked consistently was following Apple's directions!
By the way, once I got one Mac working properly (using FAT32 as I had only a 32GB partition and I wanted to have the PC partition appear on the Mac's Desktop if we booted into OSX), I imaged the partition and tried restoring it to another Mac on which I had only used BootCamp Assistant to partition the drive. Booting into XP produced the same hal.dll error. However, if I restored to a partition that had already had a successful XP installation done to it in the proper manner, this replacement of the partition's data with the image's data was successful. (I don't know why. I tried both a "master" image and a "compressed" image; only the compressed image worked and only as noted above.)
I'm not writing this to come off as a guru; rather, this is simply what ended up working for me and I thought others might benefit from knowing what mis-steps I took (and would then not follow in those mis-steps).

  • LVRT.dll error everytime I build a deployment

    HI all,
I have struggled with this for 2 days now and tried to use the forum to figure this one out, but I cannot. I have built quite a few deployments before, however, when I try to put a new deployment on a clean Win7 32-bit PC, I get the same issue:
Whenever I try to run the deployment I get the lvrt.dll error...please see JPEG. I am not sure why I am getting this. However, I have two concerns that may be causing it.
    1. If you look at the error, it is looking in the Program Files (x86) folder....I don't have that folder on my Win 7 32 bit machine....only Program Files.
    2. It seems like when I run the deployment, it is totally skipping the model. I believe this because the error it gives is for a sequence in main, and I have a vi call in the model. However, i do have the cfg folder in my workspace.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Hi, I am using 4.2. I believe I have solved that issue. It was an issue with the wrong engine below loaded.
However, I am stuck here now. When I build, I get the following warnings, and I cant seem to solve it. Please advise. I realize it wants me to add some paths in the search directories but I'm not sure exactly what it should be.
    Thanks,

How do you fix a msvcr80.dll error when trying to install itunes 11.1.4?

    This also work100%
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components
If applicable, disconnect any iPod or iOS device and close Microsoft Outlook.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later).
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (see note 1 below)
    iCloud (if present)
MobileMe (if present) (see note 2 below)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot your computer. Delete any of the following folders where they can be found: (see note 3 below)
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iPod
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    also on 64-bit systems:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Download the iTunes setup file and run it to install. Use an account with administrative rights. This can usually be achieved by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Run as... or Run as Administrator. In some cases a combination of Shift or Ctrl keys may be required for the option to show, or it may not be necessary.
If you deleted iCloud and reinstalling iTunes doesn't automatically reinstall it visit iCloud Control Panel.

  • Java.dll error

    Hi Everyone
I've installed Java 2 SDE 1.4.0_01 on Win 98. I'm having no problems compiling and running applets. However when using the Command line Interface (DOS) there is serious problem.
javac HelloWorld.java seems to compile ok. But,
java HelloWorld throws up the following messages :
Error opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment
    Error: could not find java.dll
Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Ciao,
    PK

Somehow the Registry has bad entries in it - due to a prior installation of Java, or more likely, an application that installed Java.
If there's an existing Java installation in the machine, remove it and try the install again. If there isn't an existing installation or the problem still exists, you'll need to repair the Registry using Regedit program.
This is a list of search hits from these forums on the subject. Review them and...

  • Explorer keeps crashing with ntdll.dll, verifier.dll, msvcrt.dll and combase.dll errors

    Hi all,
I just bought my laptop a few weeks ago. Initially explorer only crashed (with the ntdll.dll error) when I had a lot of folders open, or when I was transferring stuff. But now I cannot open any folders at all without it crashing with the verifier.dll error.
This doesn't happen in safe mode.

  • CS3 on Vista: VersionCueUI.DLL error

    Hello,
when I tried to open .ai files I worked on yesterday this morning I got a VersionCueUI.DLL error:
The application ran out of virtual memory. Please close some windows to free memory.
After this Illustrator tries to shut down but freezes in the process untill windows asks if I want to wait or shut it down.
I checked the files on my laptop and was able to open them. Specs of my desktop:
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
    4 GB RAM
    670GB remaining disk space
    NVIDIA GT120 1024MB
I am working with the CS3 version of Illustrator which I installed yesterday on my new computer which has Win Vista preinstalled. Everything worked fine untill this morning, when I tried to open the files which are all around 10MB in size.
I installed the last updates of CS3. Is this a problem caused by the last update(s)?
    Sincerly,
    Martin

See http://www.adobe.com/go/kb403266, the document is for Photoshop, but the solution is the same.

  • Im getting a tktds2x0_32.dll error

When I try to run the VI in Labview for a Tektronix scope I get a tktds2x0_32.dll error I have updated my IVI engine to 1.8 but this is not fixing my problem do you have any suggestions on why this is.

What sort of error are you getting?
If you're getting a DLL not found error, then the problem probably lies in your path-related environment variables or with an improper installation.
If you're receiving an error from the tktds2x0 driver during execution, then there may be a problem in your code.
    Please provide more detail.
    Thanks,

I would suggest trying the fix Amy_Lenovo offer in this posting.  Although the fix is listed for the Yoga 3 Pro, it has help owners of different models with the same error.  Basically the fix involves uninstalling the latest version of the Lenovo Settings Dependency Package and then installing an older version of that package which can be download in that link.

  • I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error

I need help, I keep getting a msvcr80.dll error and an itunes. exe error when I try to open itunes. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing. Please help

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components
If applicable, disconnect any iPod or iOS device and close Microsoft Outlook.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later).
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (see note 1 below)
    iCloud (if present)
MobileMe (if present) (see note 2 below)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot your computer. Delete any of the following folders where they can be found: (see note 3 below)
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iPod
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    also on 64-bit systems:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Download the iTunes setup file and run it to install. Use an account with administrative rights. This can usually be achieved by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Run as... or Run as Administrator. In some cases a combination of Shift or Ctrl keys may be required for the option to show, or it may not be necessary.
If you deleted iCloud and reinstalling iTunes doesn't automatically reinstall it visit iCloud Control Panel.

  • Windows Update Loop - Win 7 Pro - x64 :: Error 80071A91

Hi, I've been referred to this forum by the Microsoft community from this post: answers.microsoft.com  /en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-system/windows-update-loop-win-7-pro-x64-error-80071a91/b17c5bc5-7977-4f8b-9b45-ecb265886381 (same as below)
Any assistance is appreciated. dave_ned at hotmail.com.
    Hi,
"There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again"
I've got the error (80071A91) that others have experiences while trying windows update and for the life of me I cannot get the updates to install.
Looking for the past 4 hours via Google, trying different recommended things and still no luck
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_update/unable-to-install-updates-getting-error-code/27a21977-f964-4376-bfab-2f29ea127c6a
    # SFC /scannow causes the "repair status message" and asks for reboot.
I've downloaded fix-it, tried booting into a system repair/restore disk using command line to run
    #sfc /scannow /offline....
using the dispart to LIST VOLUMES  (based on this http://mikemstech.blogspot.com.au/2011/12/how-to-perform-offline-system-integrity.html )
I've tried #fsutils resourse set autorevert=true (or something, can't find the exact post as I've rebooted so many times)
I've tried dismc.exe (or similar without success)
Basically I'm stuck with these updates (~10 of them) always sitting there downloading, installing every time I shut down the PC.
Running a system repair disk created in windows still does not allow #sfc /scannow....
My Last system restore was 04/08/14 and I cannot even restore the system to this point as the restore fails and asks to remove itself once I restart the system.
    Details:
OEM version of windows purchased legally and genuine microsoft logo in system dashboard.
    Intel Core I5 -3330
    16GB RAM
    Windows 7 Pro - 64bit OS
    Service pack 1
**NOTE** I have the C drive hooked up in RAID 0. Two(2) * 60GB SSD disks in RAID 0 used as C: via BIOS RAID
    Secondary storage disk a D:
Been working and updating fine for the past 5-6 months.
I have the Optical drive setup as O: and a Daemon tools virtual drive as drive E:
While running DISKPART and using LIST VOLUME I see this:
currently the system seems to have lost all update history
Any information or help on this is appreciated. I don't want to reformat and reinstall, I don't really want to 'repair' and wipe my current software installation so I'm hoping there is a way.
Anyway I can get the 'pending state' removed.?
    Thanks in advance
    David

Hi, I've rebooted into Repair mode (Console), (because repair said windows is installed on E:) run dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This gave a message about small scratch space but did say something out a fix. Upon reboot into safemode with console I received the same message
    "C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.
There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete.  Restart Windows and run sfc again."
I then rebooted and tried SCF again, no luck... Same message, same updates still sitting there.
Partition info: (as mentioned earlier C is in RAID 0 with 2 SSD disks)
