WIP account

Hi,
Can anyone tell me about wip account and its link in ps module.
Thanks In advance,
Bagi

Hi bhagi j,
then you need to understand the whole idea of result analysis, which can not be explained here - I would recommend a SAP consultant for this.
Alternatively, you might have a look into the online help:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/90/ba81d2446711d189420000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
in there: by sales oder > Period-End Closing in Product Cost by Sales Order: Scenario > Results Analysis
Depending on the RA method, the system can post WIP or revenue in eccess of billings, etc.

I could use some quick help. In our 9i environment I used to type in dbca command to create a new database. Is there a similar option in 10G express.
    >No. You cannot create a XE database: it's created when installing XE and you cannot create another database with XE software on the same host.
    >>I can not seem to find a way to create a new database instance. I am guessing I will need to re-create my schema, and table structures under the one instance. Is that true?
    >Yes you need to create your schema in the existing XE database.

  • WIP Accounts showing credit balance in trial balance

    hi all,
With our client,In trial balance most of WIP Accounts is showing Credit balance(nearly crores),
normally it will have debit balance,In production process issue type is backflush  for all items &
all production orders was closed after completion of production & WIP Accounts should have megre/nil
    balance after completion of production.
What could be the problem ?
    Jeyakanthan

    Thanks Jesper & Sudha.
Using general ledger report we analyzed WIP G/L accounts there is nothing wrong in JE postings,
Problem is old production orders belonged to previous fiscal year were closed in current year,
which causes credit balance higher than debit balance, WIP g/l account balances were not brought to
zero using JE's(SinceWIP is actually an offsetting account).
Problem may be solved by closing production orders in their respective months, locking posting periods
belong to previous fiscal year, alerting users using query by alert management.

  • WIP account not defined

    Hello all!
I am trying to give a production order of a BOM. When I am trying to receive the production order, it gives me an error saying "No WIP account defined for item".
My items are all managed by warehouse, and the G/L accounts is set to be managed by warehouse.
I checked the accounting tab of all warehouses, but the WIP account is defined in all of them. Where else do I have to define the WIP account?

  • WIP Account on BS $0 value

Why are entries to my WIP account being debited and credited as zero when production orders are raised and closed, resulting in no value physically being transferred from inventory into WIP and vice versa on completion.  However there is a WIP variance amount resulting.

    Hi Gordon
    Its 8.82 (8.82.071) PL08
It was backflush but now on manual/issue.
When I trace the journal entries I see the following is currently occurring in SAP and was wondering if this is correct:
    1. Raise production order and released:
    DR    WIP                   $0
    CR    SOH                                  $0
    2. Production order is receipted/ (same as closed?):
    DR  WIP               $0
    CR  COS                              $0
    3. DR  (BS) WIP                3,406
         CR    (BS)  SOH                                   $3,406
       DR     (BS)  SOH                $3,406
       CR     (BS)  WIP                                   $3,406
If any variance will go to WIP variance account on the P & L.
It appears WIP is in and out in the same transaction so currently on the BS you can't trace how much WIP is at a point in time as it goes in and out in the one transaction - is that correct?
    Thanks ]

  • Is it possible to charge the expenditures/Cost to WIP Account

Is it possible to charge the expenditures/Cost to WIP Account and at the time of revenue accrual, system takes this cost to some Cost account i.e. Cost of goods sold.
Also upon closure of project, system should trasnfer all the costs from Work In Process to Cost of goods sold automatically.
Am talking about Contract Project type.
    Zeeshan

    Hi
The method called Revenue Based Cost Accruals is pre delivered billing extension, which you may assign to project types or specific projects.
If you implement that method, verify the AA rules for the costs and for the event types do match to the intended functionality. You can follow the case study example in the Projects Billing User Guide.

Once you reach the three free iCloud account limit on an iOS device, the only fix is to create a new account on a computer or another iOS device, then set that up on your existing device.

I am doing a process order settlement using KO88.  After execution, system is showing an accounting document with etnries:
Change in WIP Dr. & WIP A/c. Cr.

    Hi Niki
That means your WIP is-ve....Though conceptually it shud not be -ve, but if the
1.Credit from GR is higher than the Debits posted on process order (Say, Goods Issue 100 USD and GR (stdcost) is 150)
    AND
2.You are yet to receive some stock from the process order (i,.e. status is not DLV or TECO)

    Hi
First which chart of accounts do you want create transaction event keys.
Then decide the transaction event key and posting rule. Then assign the g/l accounts.
I feel you might have created for other chart of accounts.

  • DETAIL WIP ACCOUNT BY OPEN PRODUCTION ORDER

    Hi Everybody!!!!
I'm trying to develop a report to obtain the detail of the WIP accoun by Open Production Order, but I have the following problem.
All the additional costs are not saved in any table ( I have looked almost everywhere OINM, OIGN, IGN1)
Does anybody know how I can obtain it?
    Regards,

    hi,
Additional costs can be found in table WOR1.
    Try this query
    SELECT T1.DocNum, T0.ItemCode, T0.WipActCode, T0.CompTotal as 'Additional Cost'
    FROM WOR1 T0  INNER JOIN OWOR T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry

  • What is the Roles Of Bridging Account

*What Are The Roles Of These Accounts Bridging, Non-Invoiced Sales Orders And Non-Invoiced Revenue in Periodic Account Assignments form? [ID 1335054.1]*
The Expense account is there to accommodate European accounting practices.
The Bridging account (as seen in WIP accounting classes) is used only in France.
The bridging account (and possibly others) was included at the request of the Global Accounting Engine team on behalf of France in the setup form at design time; but it has never been used as it was decided that transfer To GL would remain manual for the moment. In other words, today PAC only generates distributions based on GAAP/Brazil accounting.
In other words: In US accounting, when you put something in inventory it is accounted as an asset, in France it is accounted as an expense; so during a period you total all expenses and at the end of a period in order to do a fiscal Profit and Loss, you "convert" to assets by using a bridging account : you debit the inventory account and credit the bridging account. This is done by Product Nature: So you have a Bridging account for raw materials, for finished goods and semi-finished.
The fields 'Non-invoiced Sales Orders' and 'Non-invoiced Revenue' was set up with a view to replacing the functionality (used in Europe) that is currently provided by the Global Accounting engine (AX). However, this has not yet been implemented in the apps - which currently support only US GAAP & Brazilian accounting as methods of generating distributions from PAC.
    User Guide
    2 – 72 Oracle Cost Management User’s Guide
    Bridging: This account is optional.
You can also optionally enter an Analytical Invoice Price Variance, Analytic a l Purchase Mirror, Non–Invoiced Sales Order, Non–Invoiced Revenue, Analytical Revenue Mirror, Analytical Margins of Goods Sold, and Average Cost Variance account.

    Hi,
Let me try to demistify this. What you have got in your development system is correct? The transactions are pertaining to Charging job work to the process order and then WIP Calculation. But whereas, there seems to be only one transaction of charging the job work to the process order. But the account taken is wrong. Hence, please the check the selection of the account while posting. You need to select the P & L account of Job work charges instead of Inc or Dec of WIP account.
    Trust this helps much!
    Cheers!

  • Service Entry Sheet Accounting Entries??

    Dear All,
At the time of Service Entry sheet our client is asking to post the accounting entries as below.
    WIP A/C-Dr      xxxx
       To SR/IR A/c xxxx
For WIP we have to give the WBS so that at later stage this WIP has to be settled (wbs settlement to GL) to the COGS Account.
Lets see the Functionality for this.
Ex: Customer orders A construction of Cell Tower.
To constuct a Tower It involves 1) Supply of Material 2) Erection work 3) Civil
for supply of material directly it will be purchased from the 3 rd party and send it to the customer location and do the billing.
For Erection work Internal employees will go and do the erection work and billing to the customer.
For Civil work where we dont have human resources, so we give this civil work to the sub contractors and once the job is done we will pay to the sub contractor.
in this scenario with respect to the civil work as we are paying the money on behalf of customer (receivable from customer) client is asking to post the service entry sheet entries to WIP account.
Please suggest us the proper process or how to it.
I also will explain the problems we are facing to post to WIP.
As WIP is balance Sheet Item and its assigned in GBB system is not allowing to create cost element for that, so at the time of posting the service entry sheet I am able to post the transaction without WBS.
As we planned to settle wbs to cogs now it cant be done.
    Please suggest me some solution.
    Regards,
    Shashi Kanth.

Result Analysis is a concept in CO which enables you to post WIP when the project is not closed yet.  Once the project ends, you run the RA again and reverse the posting to post the actual values.  You can speak to your CO consultant for this.  You can refer the following link to get the document.
    http://help.sap.com/bp_bl603/BBLibrary/Documentation/183_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_ID.doc
Also, you'll get lot of other resources on this if you google.
