WIP Accounts showing credit balance in trial balance

hi all,
With our client,In trial balance most of WIP Accounts is showing Credit balance(nearly crores),
normally it will have debit balance,In production process issue type is backflush  for all items &
all production orders was closed after completion of production & WIP Accounts should have megre/nil
balance after completion of production.
What could be the problem ?
Jeyakanthan

Thanks Jesper & Sudha.
Using general ledger report we analyzed WIP G/L accounts there is nothing wrong in JE postings,
Problem is old production orders belonged to previous fiscal year were closed in current year,
which causes credit balance higher than debit balance, WIP g/l account balances were not brought to
zero using JE's(SinceWIP is actually an offsetting account).
Problem may be solved by closing production orders in their respective months, locking posting periods
belong to previous fiscal year, alerting users using query by alert management.

  • Accu. Debit and Accu. Credit in Standard Trial Balance Report

    Hi experts,
I would like to ask for help about the definition of the column Accu. Debit and Accu. Credit in the standard trial balance report.
Previously, I thought it were columns to display the total debit and total credit start from the system go-live to the end period I selected in the report selection criteria. However, in my testing, it seems only included the transaction of the fiscal year of the end of period I selected in the report selection criteria. e.g. If I selected 01.Jan.2009 - 31.Dec.2010, Accu. Debit and Accu. Credit will only display the sum of transaction made in 2010.
In the selection criteria, I selected "Account Balance" and "Annual Report", and unchecked all other selection criteria.
    Environment: 8.81 PL06
    Please help. Thanks so much.

    Hi James,
The Accu. Debit and Accu. Credit in Standard Trial Balance Report can only be calculated through the current report. They have no relation with your initial balance in previous period.

  • OINM not balancing to trial balance (JDT1)

I have written a report that produces sales and purchases per item from the OINM table using the InQty, OutQty and Price fields.  The quantities are 100% correct but if I compare the total sales figure to the trial balance figures I get different results.  It balanced for the previous month but is out for this month.
My question:  Can the OINM table be used to accurately calculate the sales and purchases figure?  If so, what is the best way?
The scenario that seems to cause my figures not to balance is the following:
A delivery is done at zero value and then invoiced at the correct value.  This transaction sometimes reflects at a zero price on the delivery and invoice transaction in the OINM table, causing my report not to balance.
Any help will be much appreciated.

In your case, I don't think there are any ways to get the correct balance through this table.  You may only get those right total through financial transactions, i.e. A/R ans A/P tables.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

    Hi,
We also faced the same problem and approached Oracle support.
They provided us with a patch and datafix. Better raise an SR and get specific support.

    Hello,
    There could be one possibility.
Line item display has been activate at a later stage for this account.
Go and Block this GL account for posting in FS00
Make sure that you have put line item display to this account
    Run RFSEPA01 program in SA38
Remove the posting block on the account which you have set in FS00
Now it should tally FBL3N and FS10N
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • GL accounts with no postings are appearing in Trial Balance

    Hi Experts,
When the Trial balance is run by selecting the below parameters in 'Trial Balance Report Selection Criteria':
    1. 'Hide Accounts with No postings'
    2. 'OB from Start of Company Activity'
The G\L Accounts having no postings in the posting date selected and having transactions entered before this period are displayed in the Report.
However, in the General Ledger Report with similar selection criteria, the same G\L Accounts are not displayed in the Report.
As stated in note 1632198, the system checks for the data from the beginning of the company activity and doesn't take into account the posting dates selected in the selection criteria. It is also stated that this behavior is the current system definition.
So, please I would like that SAP changes this behavior and I believe that it will make more sense that the system considers the specific year selected in the posting date.
    Thank you in advance.
    Nadia.

    Hi,
The system logic is different for the General Ledger and the Trial Balance. Both the reports have different reporting requirements, Trial Balance being the display of the balances and opening and closing while Trial balance being the detailed output of the transactions happening during the F.Y. selected.
For having the zero balanced accounts not appearing in the Trial Balance, check whether selecting 'OB from start of Fiscal Year' helps you any way.

How to Rebuild Trial Balance Data (repopulate XLA_TRIAL_BALANCES)
    1. Navigate: Payables Responsibility > Setup > Accounting Setups > Subledger Accounting Setups > Open Account Balances Listing Definitions
    2. Query up your Report Definition: select Defined By = Accounting Flexfield or Segment (whichever applies in your case), click “Go”
    3. Click on Update icon in the "Actions" column – the definition's update page opens.
    4. "Touch" the definition by simply clicking "Apply" button (without making any change).
This should start the “Open Account Balances Data Manager” concurrent processes

  • Hyperion Financial Reporting: Trial Balance Report

    Hi All,
I am a beginner in Hyperion Financial Reporting. I am trying to create a report for Trial Balance accounts.
The report should have the all the accounts in the rows and two columns with DEBIT and CREDIT without any other dimensions in the columns.
I could not setup this grid because we need to have a dimension in the column. It is fine for me to have Period dimension or something like that. But the point is, I dont know how to retrieve the Debit / Credit in two columns.
I thought a lot to see if we can do this with sign of the data or the type of the accounts. But could not get an idea.
Does this require any customization in FR? Is there anyway to achieve this?
                                       Debit     Credit
    Account 1                    1000
    Account 2                                   1000
    Account 3                    1000
    Account 4                                   1000
    Variance                         0               0

    Hi,
Let me understand your issue here. You have Trial balance report which has 2 column: Debit and Credit. What connection do you have ? Is it Planning, HFM or other sources ? Normally, when you are using dimension, you should have another dimension, apart from Account that consist of Debit and Credit, which you can call during reporting design. The only requirement when you build a standard reporting with FR or Smartview is you need to place 1 dimension in row and 1 dimension in column. If you are using Hyperion, such as Planning and HFM, you should have more than 1 dimension.
If you don't store any Debit/Credit data, then you won't be able to get that. As far as I know, this Debit/Credit exist in Trial balance report, which is an extraction from GL. When FDM or other ETL tool pushes this data as a base data for HFM, the Debit/Credit data will be translated as plus/minus data in HFM. Say, Cash in TB closing should be in Credit. In HFM, this cash displays in positive value. Otherwise, if Cash in TB closing is in Debit, then in HFM, this should be negative. But this rules will apply differently to other accounts.
    I hope this help.
    Regards,
    Anna

  • Cancelled invoices still appearing in AP Trial Balance report

    Hi,
The invoice was cancelled during 2007 but it is still showing in the AP Trial balance and GL Trial Balance report.
May I know why? The current fix is to go the JE and fix it to zero, but this involves lot of manual work.
Please guide me to find the exact root cause.

  • AP Trial Balance R12

    Hi,
We are using Automatic Offset option set to Natural Account.
In R12 for AP Trial balance open balances template definition we need to give the liability account combinations. But, when we are using Automatic Offset we will be using new natural accounts every time. So, will these new Combinations will be automatically added to Open balances template or we need to add it manually.
Or will these new account combinations will appear on Trial balance by default.
    Thank You,
    Ramana.

    Hi Ramana
Although the account code combination will be different but the natual account for liability will be fixed. As such the best option is to define by segment and not by accounting flexfield. So you select the type as Segment and select the segment as natural account. Then specify the liability accounts for which the trial balance is required.
In case if at any point in time, a new natural account for liability is added to your chart of account segment value, then you need to come back to the defintion and update the same. Then rebuild the trial balance. But these scenarios are very rare to occur.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Tcode for Vendor and Customer Trial balance

    Hi,
I want to generate Vendor trial balance & customer trial balance. I want name of each vendor and customer with the normal and special GL balance written against it
    Ex:
    Vendor A     -    Rs.100-
    Vendor B     -    Rs. 2300-
    Vendor C     -    Rs. 1000
    Total -- XXXXX -
    > This should match with my Vendor Reco account total.

If standard report does not suffice your requirement, then create your own.
FOR vendor USE K in transaction code instead of D.
    Hello,
The following example I have given is for customers.
The only difference is in transaction codes. For customer you go to FDI1, for vendor you go to FKI1 (reports).
For Customer you go to FDI4, for vendor you go to FKI4 for forms.
    Remaining all are the same.
    Hello,
    Go to transaction code FDI4
Select Form Type RFFRRD20 Line item analysis
Give your form name and description
Structure (Two axis) - as defaulted
    Click on Create
    You will have lead column
    Delete the rows 2, 3 and 4
    Double click on column 1
Enter the customer numbers from 1 to 999999
    First column double click (A)
    Slelect following values
    Due date analysis 1
Days for net due date 0 to 30
Give the short name, medium name and long text for the column.
Repeat this step in next columns like 31 to 60, 61 to 90, 91 to 120 and 121 to 99999 days etc in other columns and select due date analysis 1. (B,C,D,E)
Create one more column by way of formula. To create a new column you need to double click on blue line. Put formula add all five columns you have created above. (F = ABCDE)
You prepare one more column with
    Due date analysis 2 (G)
Now you prepare one more column add (F+G) = This will be total open items = over due and not due.
Now go to FDI1 and prepare a report - assign the form created in FDI4 to the report.
Characteristics you need to select are
Account Type (Select Account Type as D for customers)
    Currency
    Customer
    Document Type
    Special G/L Ind
    Company Code
Change the output types and options according to your requirement.
Refer FDI2 and FDI3 for other standard reports created.
Refer FDI5 and FDI6 for other standard forms created.
    Save your report and execute.
    Regards,
    Ravi
