Wireless deployment with your recommendations

Hi,
We are going to propose a wireless solution (both Outdoor as well as Indoor).This location is a Mall. We have three big show rooms that will be connected by outdoor and for the small show rooms either connecting by indoor or by Ethernet cables.
This point is we can?t connect the cabinets together by fiber because the routes (corridors) are prohibiting using for individual purposes. Due to this reason I connect each location with other by access point with orientated external antenna.
Cloud you please have a look for the drawings that I have made by MS Visio 2003 and if you have any recommendations please share with us.
THANX
HASSAN

Hi Hassan,
I just wanted to add a comment to John's excellent info here. This is only meant as a clarification of "Scope of Work" ideas. This type of document allows you to manage expectations on your part and of course from the clients perpective :) By working through the scope of the project in detail you will be able to mitigate potential problems that arise from not being on the "same page" as the prospective clients. Here are some excerpts from a great doc;
"The Scope of Work sets expectations so that all parties understand what is included and excluded, the phases of the project or service, and the entry and exit criteria for each phase. By creating a well-defined Scope of Work that is based on a blueprinted service, you can minimize scope creep and design your service to proactively meet your customers needs.When designing a service, the Scope of Work should use the results from the service design process to produce a document that specifically spells out what is included and excluded in the service, as well as the team member responsibilities.
Purpose of the Scope of Work
Creates the service boundaries (what is included and what is excluded).
Lends the service to be repeatable and consistent.
Defines the service success factors (what will make this service successful).
Identifies the service phases with entry and exit criteria.
Specifies the customer and solution provider responsibilities.
Service Scope: It is important to look at the service design and provide the high level detail of all that is included in the service. This would include technology areas covered, functionality included, and the ultimate deliverables. It's equally important to detail the service assumptions and exclusions. Assumptions could include dependent systems or specific processes that must be in place and running. Additionally, list in detail what is not included in this service. This is a key area to think through in detail to prevent scope creep and delays. Identify potential points of delay or service failure, and if they're not in your control, specify that your service performance will be affected by any errors or omissions within these customer dependent systems.
Phase Responsibilities: For each phase, detail the responsibilities of both the customer and your organization. It's then easy to review the entire service prior to launch and spell out which actions are required by the customer. By stating the customer requirements in the Scope of Work, you can reference them in the assumptions section by indicating that if the customer responsibilities are not met in their appropriate phases, the timeline will not be met and the service objectives will be at risk.
Phase Deliverables: For each phase, describe and define the deliverables or outcomes of the specific phase. This will help all stakeholders understand the relevancy and importance of each phase relative to the service objective.
Phase Completion Criteria: Completion criteria, or boundary conditions, are critical for each phase. They act as toll gates or checkpoints to make sure that all responsible parties are contributing to reach the goal. In project management terms, they act as milestones to the service where critical actions need to be completed. Think of this in terms of a decision to move forward, or an acceptance of a phase deliverable.
The Finished Product
The completed Scope of Work can take on a variety of forms, but remember that this is ultimately a legal document binding you to perform the services as described."

  • Wireless Deployment with Active Directory User Group Integration

    I am trying to find out the best practice in deploying a WLAN for users in the cooperate environment, which uses their company active directory integrated laptops to join to the WLAN.
    I know this can be done using certificates easily but I want to just find a way to deploy this without certificates and only based on the AD user group. Maybe a Radius server + LDAP server integration solution would be great.
    Please advice. Thanks.

    The easiest way to deply this is with a Microsoft toolkit, it has everything you need included, manuals, scripts to install and configure server-side components and it's very easy to use. You can get it from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=60c5d0a1-9820-480e-aa38-63485eca8b9b&displaylang=en
    It's based on Win2003 server but I've been advised by MS that it should be OK on Win2008 as well.

  • Wireless networking with an iBook G3

    I'm having trouble connecting to the internet using an Asus WL-167G USB2.0 WLAN Adapter. The other computers on our network are Windows XP and our router is a Belkin wireless-G. I'm also new to Macs which doesn't help. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi, Fiona. Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Part of the problem may be that an iBook G3 is equipped with USB 1.1. While most USB 2.0 devices are backwards-compatible with USB 1.1, it may be that the USB 1.1 connection is simply not fast enough to support wireless networking with your adapter.
    I recommend the original AirPort card for wireless networking with a G3 iBook, even though they are becoming scarce (and expensive). They are the easiest and best solution.

  • Hp3070a not wireless printing with windows 8

    Help! Going mad! My printer use to print wirelessly and then stopped. I reset once by looking on google but now don;t know what to do. I have Surface tablet with windows 8 (i think!). Prints with USB fine. Thank you so much. Ruth

    Hi ruthk726,
    I'd like to help you get the printer working wirelessly again with your tablet.
    Use the solutions in 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print. This document does address these other symptoms as well:
    Printer won't print
    Print jobs are stuck in the print queue
    No response from the printer
    Please Note: Solution one will advise you to download and install the HP Print and Scan Doctor; however, the HP Print and Scan Doctor does not support Windows RT for ARM-processor based tablets or computers. Please proceed to the next solution. (Solution two: Restart the computer and check the print queue)

    You should only need a SIM in it to actually activate it in iTunes.  Once activated, leave the SIM in or remove it, it should not matter.
    Then, turn on airplane mode.  And then, go into wifi settings and re-enable wifi (this leaves the cellular radio in airplane mode = powered off).
    Now your iPhone is effectively no more than a (wifi only) iPod Touch.

  • Your recommendation asked for book regarding Composit. Envin. with BPM

    Hi guys,
    I want to have you recommendation before going purchase a book regarding SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment. I have seen a book on SAP Press site which is released in July 2008 is called Developers guide to the SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment. By: Jan Stiehl and Volker Rauscher.
    But I want to make first clear whether BPM is the replancement of Guided Procedure???? because I have heard that GP is the old technology now we use BPM Galaxy in Composition Environement. Unfortunately this book is referring Guided Procedures.
    I like to have your recommendation to have a book regarding CE with BPM.

  • "there is a problem with your apple tv ethernet networking" but I am connecting wirelessly

    So basically I can happily see all my movies etc on my TV via Apple TV but they appear to play but with no image. Sound is OK! Then the ATV decides something is wrong, reboots and says "there is a problem with your apple tv ethernet networking" but I am trying to connect over wifi.
    I have original ATV
    Thanks in advance
    Daniel

    You may have some software corruption or the unit may well be starting to fail.
    Hold menu and down arrow for 6 secs to reboot the unit to the diagnostics/service menu from where you can reinstall the original shipping software (some have had issues updating beyond version 1.0 if that's what's on it) but first I'd try to run the diagnostics utility though it often passes this even if there are issues.
    Always worth unpowering the AppleTV and letting it rest for a few minutes before restarting - this can sometimes reset thing that a powered reboot won't.

    I just recently installed Arch on my computer but have used *buntu for a couple of years so I'm not completely lost in the Linux-world.
    Anyway, my college have a wireless setup that requires you to log in with your username and password. I used wicd in *buntu but the reason I installed Arch is because I want to know how to do stuff manually, and not only automagically.
    So, the problem I have is that I don't know how to connect to it using wpa_supplicant and netcfg. I've googled about it but haven't seen any good examples, or how-to's.
    I've a profile for my home network but I only have a WPA key here so that was easy with the wireless guide, so I know some basics about wpa_supplicant anyway.

    Manually in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf:
    network={

    password="<password>"
    Using netcfg (which I recommend strongly): do the above and set WPA_CONF to /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf (or whatever you want).
    Using netcfg from testing (which you'll have to upgrade to eventually):
    CONFIGSECTION='ssid="<network>"
    key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
    identity="<username>"
    password="<password>"'
    That did it
    I added an own profile in /etc/network.d that I just connect to now. Excited too see if it works back home as well, got some strange error yesterday when I use WEP.

  • About to deploy with the navy, can i use my ipad2 overseas?

    i intend on getting my husband an ipad2 while he is on deployment with the navy. my question is, if he is in another country will he be able to use it for face talk so he can see his baby daughter? more than likely he will only go to england and dubai which are both big places...so i just want to know if it would even work before i paid 500$ for it.

    UNLIKE MANY OF THESE REPLIES, I can GUARANTEE you that FaceTime will work in every country, as ong as your husband has wifi (wireless internet connection)!
    The reason it didn't work before in Dubai and some other countries, is because FaceTime would need to be activated by communicating to the Carrier, and some carriers like in China or Dubai would not let you... Although since the iPod touch 4, FaceTime has been activated through an apple id account...
    Hope this helps you all understand... God bless the troops!

  • [Torch 9860] - Network indicates roaming "Rogers Wireless - Fido" with Fido SIM

    Hello,
    I recently purchased a BlackBerry Torch 9860.
    I have a Fido SIM card
    When I insert my SIM, and I turn on cellular, the network says "Rogers Wireless - Fido" with the roaming triangle next to it.
    Why is this the case and will I be charged roaming whenever I make a call or send an SMS?
    Thanks,

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    You need to check if your BB is unlocked or not...see this:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Unlocking-your-BlackBerry-Gu...
    If, for instance, your BB is locked to Rogers, then when you try to use a Fido SIM, it may be having to run via the Rogers network to get to Fido. Or, if Fido has no coverage where you are, it may have to roam on Rogers to get to Fido.
    As for billing, you have to talk to Fido and/or Rogers about that.
    Good luck!

  • How make wireless connection with airport express to  Yamaha Clavinova CVP-403 ?

    I would like to wirelessly connect my Yamaha Clavinova CVP-403. I would like to use a D-link DWA 125 and my airport express. Does anyone has any experience on how to do that?

    Hi Henry - you seem to be a very helpful and knowledgeable person and I am wanting to dive in to the depths of wireless working at home and could probably do with your advice. I certainly don’t have as much knowledge as Jaybee and if he’s had problems I am feeling a little apprehensive.
    I know that the first thing I need to do is get an ethernet modem to use with Airport Express as I currently only have a USB modem. I was wondering if you have any recommendations or if I should go straight for the Netgear DSL modem/router (DG834B) that Jaybee ended up with. Although the bit about ‘disabling the Airport Express resp. Extreme routers’ scares me rigid
    I have looked at ‘About this Mac’ and got the following for you – hope it’s helpful.
    OSX 10.3.9
    1.33 HGz PowerPC G4 processor
    Airport Extreme: Worldwide
    Firmware: 400.17(3.90.34.0.p11)
    Airport admin utility: 4.2 (v420.31)
    My ISP is also Tiscali (UK) - they have said they can only provide modem support on the USB modem they provide so once I switch to an ethernet modem I’ll be on my own. I have checked the Tiscali website and found the following modems, so I would assume (probably unwisely) that they would be compatible with my account...
    Zoom X6 5590 DSL Modem (55907200)
    D-Link DSL-300T
    Zoom Hayes ADSL Ethernet (H0-15805) (081580572)
    Any help is very gratefully received.

  • VIsta Wireless Problems with New FIOS Install July 2009

    I recently had FIOS telephone, INternet andTV intstalled.  All was well except on my Vitsa laptop I cannot maintain a steady wireless conneciton with the Actiontec MI424WR router.  I hit the Web and found out that many have had this complaint and that there is an ongoing conversation about whose fault the problem is.  I had flawless service under TIme- Warner with my Vista Wireless so I did not intially assign blame to Vista or my laptop.  I do recall the Verizon installer mentinoed "problems with Vista" but he did not elaborate.  I spent all day yesterday researching and attempting every fix suggested on numerous web sites.  All failed except one.
    Essentially, I now use my LinkSys Router in front of the Actiontec MI424WR router.  I found the instructions to do this on numerous web sites after researching FIOS Vista wireless problems.  The LinkSys router handles only wireless.  Now my Vista laptop never drops a connection.  I still have acess to FIOS TV guide and on demand so the fix did not interfere with FIOS router TV functions.
    THe bottom line is that it would appear that there is a problem with the Actiontec MI424WR router and Vista.  Fortunately for me I had the Linksys ROuter available.  Verizon - you need to look into this.  Based on what I have experienced I cannot recommend FIOS internet for those with VIsta computers until tjhis is addressed.
    From what I have researched, Verizon claims it is a Vista problem.  Beta testors of WIndows 7 have reported the same issues with FIOS and Actiontec MI424WR router.  My experience and that of others who have devised the fix I employed would clearly suggest that Verizon needs to look into this and get this problem solved.
    Steve B.

    My neighbor had a similar issue. When trying to figure it out we found out that there is a problem with some of the Intel drivers when connecting to some g class routers. We upgraded the wireless drivers on the computer and bingo the problem went away. This was on an Intel-R pro  wireless.  If you have Intel-R pro wireless on your computer, try upgrading to the current driver set and see if that helps you too.

    What protocol is Verizon using that is not compatible with the Airport Extreme built into your iMac? I have used Apple's Airport Extreme with a lot of different wireless routers with zero problems as all conform to either 802.11b or 802.11g standard both of which are supported by the built in Airport Extreme.

  • Why iCloud is not working with your MobileMe

    Just got off the phone with support and we figured out the problem with some MobileMe transitions. Here's some of the symptoms:
    You can't add a MobileMe address in Mail & Notes.
    You can't edit or access your MobileMe aliases on iCloud.com, sometimes related to above.
    You can't access your MobileMe email.
    Some of us thought that iCloud would free us somewhat from master and alias accounts, that we might be able to break the accounts out. The truth is that you need to "bless" your master MobileMe account in order for things to work properly in some cases. Here's my story.
    I haven't used my MobileMe master account in years, it's just a spam magnet. I've been longing to get rid of it, but I need one of my aliases, which is my given [email protected]. So when I migrated to iCloud, I used the alias I wanted as my master iCloud account. I set things up, my email worked, etc. I heard a rumor I could then delete my master MobileMe account, the spam magnet.
    Here it should be said that there are two preference panes that have identical features under Internet and Wireless in your System Preferences and it makes things very confusing. The whole iCloud pane is mirrored inside the Mail Contacts and Calendars pane under the iCloud account that you create.
    So Mail & Notes was unchecked. If I tried to check it it asked for a me.com address. If I entered a me.com address that I already had, it said that address was taken. Someone in support earlier said to create a new email account so I did and iCloud created a whole new email account with three empty slots for aliases. But I couldn't access alias preferences. Now I had access to my mail in Mail.app, but on the web I had this empty brand new email account. Weird.
    I created a iCloud account for my MobileMe master and it told me it was not the primary account and had less options than my alias-created account, now my iCloud master account. Do you follow? My Mobileme alias was my iCloud master, and my Mobileme master was a minor iCloud account.
    So I decided I would delete the master iCloud account (hit minus sign), and the new, unnecessary email account disappeared from my Mail app and iCloud.com. So I had just the other iCloud account left, which was my master Mobileme account, but it wasn't blessed. iCloud told me I had to break the link to all accounts associated with it. I hit the minus sign and I kept getting the message.
    So I restarted my iMac and went to the Mail Contacts and Calendars pane and the Mobileme account was back. I hit minus sign one more time, headed back to iCloud preference pane, and it asked me if I wanted to use the MobileMe account or a new one. I said Mobileme, and everything just added right in, the email worked, I was able to login to iCloud.com, my Mail.app was correct.
    So if you want to migrate from MobileMe, just try to think of your iCloud account as exactly the same as your MobileMe master email when you migrate. The very first account you create in iCloud is your blessed account, so if it's not your master Mobileme you may have problems. You have to use the master as your login and then you can edit your aliases by going to the gear (right top corner) of the mail page on iCloud.com ->preferences->addresses. You can only delete them and color code them. If you delete any and you have more than three aliases, you can't recover the extra slots.
    One last thing. When you migrate to iCloud, your MobileMe preference pane is worthless. The reason it exists is if you want to wait to migrate your MobileMe account, and you have until June 2012.
    Hope this helps.
    Sean
