What a frustrating experience I have had trying to get away from This phone and Plan. I just want to down grade this phone. What difference does it make to you here? All VZW will do is re certify the phone and give it to someone else. I just would like to down grade to a cheaper phone and do away with android os. I still have the same issues with the phone as I did with my other one within a hour of re activating it. I should have no issues with the os it is flawed and should not happen. I am sorry to say but The blackberry OS is a lot more stable. There may not be as many apps but it is more productive and being able to multi task is a lot more needed on a phone. I was told yesterday I would get a call back today at 7pm when this tech support lady would start her shift to give me my options and she did not call. Making me call at 930pm today and after talking to someone I waited for 45 minuets to be hung up on. That is a real great way to treat a customer and make things better. I just want away from the Andriod OS. What difference does it make to you as a company to make a customer happy who was with you since 08 and having a second device added on to the account? What Poor way to treat someone to make them happy with all the profits you have and can't give anything back to a customer.

  • N900 N97 fair trade in campaign starts here

Seeing as so many users are unhappy with their N97's myself personally included (but ive persevered)
despite having to reboot, hard reset, missing music files, missing artwork, backups not working, scratched camera lens, countless hours spent on forums trying to solve issues and hundred of hours of my spare time
and basically the product was launched in no fit state for commercial use and even now after the latest firmware still has software issues and bugs hows about someone from Nokia saying fairs fair we havent handled this situation well why not let N97 users exchange/trade in their n97's against a N900 which I am presuming has been beta tested better
as a loyal nokia customer I would happily pay an admin charge for this service somewhere between £50 and £100
which i think is a fair compromise bearing in mind the new n900 is launching for about the same price as  the N97 did and the fact that the N97 mini is cheaper and has more ram !!
The campaign for nokia to do this starts here lets get lots of supportand take it to nokia

remember when the N95 first came out?it was buggy as hell compared to my grandma's attic..:manvery-happy:
I had one... Actually I still have one. N95-1, silver with a plum back.
I was an early adopter of that. It might have had bugs, but all the functions worked. It was quirky and used to eat the battery. That's okay, I can work with that, just had a spare charger in the office. Later firmware solved the battery eating habit.
The N97 however was quirky for me with V11 and V12... Fine, I've lived with that before, no show stoppers. V20 is a whole new kettle of fish... It's terrible. They made album artwork work in music player, and broke the player for me! I can't control the volume of mp3 playback (if it will even start the app without throwing one of a selection of error messages, including "USB Attached!", "Out of memory" or "System Error").
I did a complete wipe and reinstall V2.00.19, once finished I connect to my wifi and OVI Store app says it needs to update... Fine, do it I say... It then throws up and error "Unable to download nnnnn.sisx". Repeated via phone data connection... This is a fresh reload with formatted mass memory!
I eventually had to change the HTTP User Agent on my browser to pretend to be an N97 browser to download the new sisx with my PC and then install it with PC Suite.
I now have the N95 in my pocket to use as my mp3 player! At least the handsfree kit fits both.
I should have learnt... I never upgrade windows version until SP1 comes out, I shouldn't have gone to V20 until V21 appeared. I just didn't think it could have more quirks than V12... Well I guess it doesn't. Most of the quirks have gone... It just has howling bugs!

  • Blind link in EPM 11.1.2 "Installation Start Here"  document

    Hi there Oracle EPM people,
in the "Installation Start Here" document there are several references (e.g.Table 1 Documentation That You Need) to this link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/fusion_certification.html
However there seems so be a problem:
An error occurred while processing the request. Try refreshing your browser. If the problem persists contact the site administrator
Please take a look and make it work.
    Thank you!

    Thanks Robert,
    Well, today - Yes.
    However, Yesterday No. Definitely!
But good to know it works from now.
Thanks to the little wizards :-)

I bought a second hand Macbook Pro and colorful stud
Only after a few months I decided to reformat it
Bad movie started here I did not get it with a disc and I come to install the operating system
And he asks the name of Apple's user ID financed had been bought Lion OS Now
And who sold me does not answer then I found the phone number of his mother
She said he lived in USA and paid him more than the lion version of the MacBook and now I can not install Lion
    And I'm not from USA

Unless you go back to the original owner, yes you need to pay for it again.
You're entitled to the OS that shipped with the device from Apple, but if you don't have that media there's nothing you can really do.  If the system originally shipped with 10.7 or 10.8 then when you boot it to Internet Recovery, it will automatically offer you that OS version (as the serial # is registered with Apple).  If it shipped with an older OS, then you need to enter the Apple ID that purchased 10.7 or 10.8.  You didn't purchase it so that's not you.
The options you have are to buy Lion for $29 US (I don't know the price in Palestine), or Mountain Lion for $19 US (don't know the price in Palestine either), and install from scratch.
And it's a good idea to know you have restore media before you reformat your machine.

  • If you have a Blue Screen / Error due to Wireless issues (B110a), fix in here.

For the original thread created by somebody else, please see here:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-and/B110a-network-connection-problem/m-p/319...
Here's a youtube video of what happened to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adE1kq36ld4
I'm reposting it here so it can hopefully help some of you guys if anybody else stumbles across this. In short, my printer was fresh out of the box and I attempted to connect it to the wireless network. It would throw a blue screen on the LCD with an error of B8126AD6.
I narrowed it down to an issue with DHCP. For some reason the printer connects to the wireless access point but as soon as it tries to get an IP address from the DHCP server it crashes with that blue screen and the error code in the first post above. This look like a massive bug in the printers firmware! For reference my router is a Billion 7401VGPR3 which is acting as my default gateway and DHCP server. I have a Linksys WRT54G as my Access Point for the house.
To solve it, I turned DHCP off on my router and then tried connecting the printer to the wireless network. This time it connects fine but you still can't talk to it because it doesn't have a proper IP address. If it still doesn't connect properly, try turning WPA/WPA2/WEP off on your Access Point. Leave it completely open for a moment until you can reach the web interface (as below).
To fix the IP issue, I then went into the Settings menu on the printer and printed the "HP Network Configuration Page". Note that under the Wireless menu option there are a couple of different "Print Network Test Page" options. I believe it's the 2nd one that I selected. You'll know you have the right one when it prints out the page with the following info:
    IPv4 IP Address
    Subnet Mask
    Hostname
    Default Gateway
    Primary DNS
    etc, etc.
Take note of the IP Address from the printout above and the Subnet Mask. My IP was 169.254.73.5 and subnet mask 255.255.0.0. Now I manually configured my computers IP address to be similar (within the same subnet): 169.254.73.10 with the same subnet mask.
Now you can load up the web interface of the printer using http://169.254.73.5 in my case. (You should also be able to ping the printer at this point too). In here you have a Network tab where you can now manually set the IP Address of the printer. Set the address you want it to be in your network (in my case 192.168.0.3 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and default gateway 192.168.0.1 and dns server 192.168.0.1).
Once I clicked OK I changed my PC's IP back to normal, and I can now reach the printer on its IP address set above. YAY!
The great thing is, in the web interface you get a million more options to play with. You can manually set the IP address, gateway, DNS, wireless settings such as WPA1/WPA2 AES/TKIP Encryption, WPA Passkey, etc. So if you had to set the Access Point to completely Open, setup the encryption again and put the passkey in here. When I did this I had to go back into the Settings menu on the printer LCD and select "Disable Wireless" then "Enable Wireless" to force it to re-join the network.
Finally I went into the Settings menu again and Updated the software on the printer. I don't know if the new software fixes the bug or not - I haven't tested it (can't be bothered!).
Hopefully this will help some of you guys out there too!
EDIT: I've just stumbled across another couple of posts with similar results to mine:

Many thanks to gardz for an exhaustive overview on this critical problem with the B110a printer!
I am happy to report that I have managed to set the printer to a static IP and am now able to connect to it wirelessly from my home computers, and also able to use the web apps and ePrint features on the printer. The printer shows the IP address and I am able to use the EWS (Embedded Web Server) to connect to its IP address from my PC's internet browser. The Wireless Network Test Report also showed no problems. I have also completed the Product Update on the printer, and there are no more pending updates now.
However, the core wireless problem is still not satisfactorily resolved.
I get the BSOD and blinking-lights error ("Please turn off printer and then on"), only if I start the printer when Wireless is enabled on the printer. If wireless is disabled prior to printer boot, there is no error.
The workaround I have adopted for now, is to always switch off the printer's wireless, before switching off the printer, and enabling the wireless setting only when I need to print/scan.
Is this happening with anyone else? Why would the printer crash if it boots with wireless enabled? If it is already set to a static IP, why would it still conflict with the DHCP on the router?
My router is perfectly working, it is in the same room as the printer, so the signal strength is good. The printer itself is quite stable except for this crash-after-boot-if-wireless-was-enabled issue on the printer.
I made the mistake of connecting the USB cable to my primary computer before installing the printer drivers, so even the USB option is not working (Windows recognizes the printer as an unknown USB device). If anyone can point me to the printer drivers (inf files), I would be grateful. The CD does not have the driver files in a convenient location. It seems to be embedded within the setup package somewhere.
Gardz and PrintDoc, I hope you can help us out on this one. I know many B110a users are struggling with the wireless issues, so HP needs to release a firmware fix and driver update soon. Wireless ought to work out-of-the-box, as this product is aimed at the SOHO users.

  • Wireless connection stops and starts using Mountain Lion

Since installing ML a few days ago, my wireless connection isn't stable for about the first five minutes after waking from sleep mode ... the process is:
    - wake from sleep mode
    - wait about 10 seconds for icon to reflect wireless signal
    - click on a website to open
    - wireless signal starts searching and finds nothing
    - click on network diagnostics
    - signal returns
    - try to open website again
    - same problem occurs
This seems to last a few minutes but once the connection finally takes, I'm able to access the website and others ...
This is occurring with a brand new (mid 2012) MacBook Pro 13"

Yup, same here. I see this in multiple locations, so its not the router.

  • Initial Wireless Troubleshooting

    Hi Folks
How we start initial Troubleshooting Wireless related  issues,we have WCS/WLC 4400 along with LWAPP?
    thanks
    Ibrahim

do you want to troubleshoot connectin between WLC to AP (i.e. AP join problem) or
    client connectivity issue?
In general, you should use debug mac addr to limit the debug. Then, run debug capwap packet or debug client to troubleshoot AP join or client association problem.

You need to install linux-headers. I wish you the best of luck -- I had a USB wireless adapter that used the same chipset and couldn't get the driver to compile for the life of me.

  • Which Lenove/ThinkPad start up porgrams can I eliminate?

My computer seems to run ok, but I have a ton of startup programs.  Takes too long to shut down and start up.
I have removed the startup programs that I'm comfortable removing with my limited knowledge.
But, there's a whole bunch of Lenovo/ThinkPad startup's running.  I was wondering if they are all necessary.
Should I send a Hijack log for review?
I appreciate any and all help.

You probably would get more responses if you asked about a specific program or service.
Here are some sites that offer good info about Services and Startup applications.

For Lenovo/Thinkpad applications/services, I have disabled all of them and my system runs perfectly.
So none of them are required.

  • Illustrator CS2 and InDesign CS2 not starting - here is how it was solved.

This document is merely a compilation of information found at the sources named at the bottom of this document.
Basically running older Adobe CS2 Software on a MacBook Pro 10.6.x Snow Leopard - probably like many of you that either can't afford the upgrade to CS3, CS4 or CS5, or maybe don't see the need to do so.  It's running good but it is slow since it is using Rosetta, but it does work - well, used to work.
Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, etc. were all running fine after the upgrade to Snow Leopard (under 10.6, 10.6.1 and 10.6.2).  Then the update to 10.6.3 was installed.  At the same time a bunch of other updates - including the Acrobat 8.2 update - were installed.  Not really sure what did it, but all of a sudden Illustrator CS2 stopped responding at the start up screen - no longer started up and InDesign CS2 popped the registration/licensing screen.  When trying to enter license info on first key press the application quit entirely.
So maybe the 10.6.3 update was the culprit.  Never even thought that it could be the Acrobat 8.2/8.2.1 updates.  Then I found this thread here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/613287?tstart=0 (good reading)
Which ultimately pointed me the the instructions here:
    >start quote from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/534/cpsid_53468.html
Replace the corresponding files present in the “ /Library/Application Support/Adobe/TypeSpt/Unicode/Mappings/” folder with the one attached to this document.
Download the attached Mac.dmg (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/534/cpsid_53468/attachments/Mac.dmg) file to a machine where the issue is seen.
    Close all Adobe applications
Double Click the Mac.dmg file to mount it.
Copy Mac folder from mounted image. Paste it to /Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/TypeSpt/Unicode/Mappings/.
A message appears to confirm to replace the existing 'Mac' folder. Replace the 'Mac' folder.
Launch Illustrator or InDesign CS or CS 2.
The Mac folder attached to this KB document already has the correct permissions set, so it should not be necessary to complete the steps below. However there may be cases where the permissions for the Mac folder get overwritten. In such a case, the original issue can reoccur. To solve this issue, complete the steps below:
Follow Solution 1 and make sure that all Adobe applications are closed.
Right or Control click and select 'Get Info' on the Mac folder  in “ /Library/Application Support/Adobe/TypeSpt/Unicode/Mappings/”, which you have copied from the .dmg file attached to this document.
Verify that under 'Sharing and Permissions' all users listed have no write access
If a change is required, click the padlock symbol and provide your Administrator credentials
Select the user which has Write access and change it to 'Read Only'.
Ensure the user 'Everyone' is set to 'No Access.
To check if the issue has been solved, launch Acrobat 8.2 and then Illustrator or InDesign CS or CS 2.
    < end quote
Even after following the instructions still "no love" from Illustrator CS2 or InDesign CS2.  InDesign did no longer show the registration screen, but it didn't continue launching, and Illustrator progressed further along in the start up sequence but also never finished launching.
Then I found another article on the adobe site.  I am just quoting the part performed  and which ultimately did the trick.
    >start quote from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/326/326388.html
Steps 1 and 2 are not relevant so no need to do them
    3. At the Finder, choose File > Find.
    4. TypeAdobeFnt10.lst (Illustrator CS2), select the system drive, and then press Return.
    5. Delete all AdobeFnt10.lst files found.
    6. Restart the computer.
    7. Restart Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new Adobefnt10.lst or AdobeFnt07.lst file.
    < end quote
So, this solved the problems at least for the time being.  Hope this helps someone else a bit.

Illustrator CS2 stopped working for me on Snow Leopard as well. What it all boiled down to was not to update to 12.0.1. Not sure which release of Snow Leopard I was on when I figured that out but I keep up-to-date, am now at 10.6.6 and CS2 still works fine. I keep getting prompted to update to 12.0.1 from time to time but just cancel it.
I'm fairly sure I was at 12.0.1 already when I moved from Leopard to Snow Leopard and it was that, not a Snow Leopard update, that "broke" CS2 12.0.1. If I remember correctly, if you now try to apply the update, it won't go through with it anyway.

  • Wife and I share itunes account.  How do we save her info and start her own account?

When we first got our iphones, we were told at apple store we could use the same itunes account.  We still do.  Now with 2 iphones, 2 laptops, ipads, etc.  it is a mess with facetime and sharing apps.
How do I save her information and start a new account for her?
    Thanks

Your best bet would be to set up a separate Apple ID for her to use with iCloud, Messages, and FaceTime, but continue to use the same iTunes account for purchases (click on the second box "Use one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases" to go directly to the section which outlines how to do this). The reason you would want to continue to use the current ID for iTunes is because all of the purchases made under that ID will be forever tied to that ID - purchases cannot be transferred to another ID:
Set up your Apple ID for iCloud and iTunes - Apple Support

  • Photosmart D110a Wireless Troubleshooting with D-Link DIR-655 and Mac OSX 10.8

    Good evening all,
Apologizes if this has already been posted. I've googled this issue a couple of times, but I still haven't found a solution for this problem.
I have the Photosmart D110a and I'm running Mac OSX Mountain Lion, and my router is a D-Link DIR-655 and my security is WPA-Personal and the router is running in 802.11gn mode. My ISP is Optimum Online.
The issue that I've been having is that the printer works wireless when everything has been recently booted up. As does the scanner. However, if it hasnt been used for a while, the printer shows up in the OSX Print & Scan settings page as idle, but when I try to print, the dialog just says "looking for printer" and never finds it, and just says "The printer is not connected" under the item in the OSX Print Queue. Because of this, I have to restart the computer or restart the printer for them to find each other again.
I've seen other solutions on here, such as giving the printer a static IP address, and this hasn't worked either. The printer is still accessible with the static IP address, which means it's still got a connection to my network, but for some reason the OS isn't recognizing it or something.
It's obvious that the printer works when everything is freshly rebooted, but I still haven't been able to figure out this issue once it's been idle for a while.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Errold

    Hi,
Try following my post below, I believe it might be relevant as the router drops the Bonjour connection:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/losing-connection-to-airprint-a-few-min...
I would also suggest updating your router's firmware and check if that may help:
    http://www.dlink.com/us/en/support/product/dir-655-wireless-n-gigabit-router
For any help with this proccess I would highly recommend contacting Dlink support.

  • Can't get Wireless up from Core, sitting here like wtf mate?

    Hey all
I'm not a newcomer to Linux in general, having been tinkering with it pretty consistently for about four years now, but this is my first attempt at Arch. Basically everybody on every forum who repped Arch was so Raving Fan about it that I had to give it a try. Read it does well on older hardware, which this qualifies as:
    IBM Thinkpad 380XD
    300mhz PII Processor
    96mb SDRAM
    3 gig HD
I'm using a Lucent Technologies Orinoco PCMCIA card, which I know works with WEP because I used it under Puppy (maybe there was some kind of special transient firmware fix? Can't recall...)
I've got Core installed and I've followed all the instructions on the Wireless Setup - Arch Wiki page.

I'm actually already familiar with the commands and the process since at the basic level they're the same as with Puppy Linux, which I was running on this system before the last HD wrecked.
I'm manually typing responses of the system since it's not online and I seem to be having difficulty in copying data to the USB stick I'm using, so I can't paste the output directly.
    lspci kicks back:
    Socket 0 Bridge: [yenta_cardbus] (bus ID: ....)
    Socket 0 Device 0: [orinoco_cs] (bus ID: ...)
when I plug in the device, dmesg | tail shows:
    Firmware determiend as Lucent/Agere 7.28
    Ad0hoc demo mode suported
IIEEE standard IBSS ad-hoc mode supported
    WEP supported, 104-bit key
    MAC address ....
    Station name "HERMES I"
    etho: ready
    orinoco_cs at 0.0, irq 3, io 0x0100-0x013f
eth0 shows up on ifconfig, and iwconfig. I can even pass the correct essid and key to iwconfig, which subsequently shows up in iwconfig | eth0. Plus, one of the two lights on the card comes on when I give it the right essid and key (without the right key/code the light doesn't come on).
But running dhcpcd results in a time-out, and running iwlist scan says
Failed to read scan data ; Resource temporarily unavailable.
I've restarted, I've switched PCMCIA ports, I even tried my other Orinoco card but it didn't have the firmware so no linux will even touch it.
I've tried modprobe -r orinoco_cs then modprobe orinoco_cs to reinstall it, ifconfig eth0 down and up, and every combination of the above I've been able to think about.
Please give a recommendation. Arch seems really promising and I need this system up for my main note-taking computer at school! (My eeepc was stolen...bastards...)

I was chatting on #aircrack-ng and psycho_oreos pointed me to this
    Maybe it will help..
09:12:41 < Daenyth> the orinoco one is assy, I can't even iwlist scan
09:12:55 < psycho_oreos> Daenyth, that and the ability to do 802.11g modes.. I'm presuming you have ar5212abg.. which also means 802.11a as well
    09:13:09 < Daenyth> psycho_oreos: lspci tells me I have AR5001x+
09:13:12 < psycho_oreos> orinoco can scan, you just have to choose the right firmware
09:13:36 < Daenyth> psycho_oreos: oh really? If you could point me to any info on that, I would _much_ appreciate it.. right now when I roam I use airodump and filter for OPN
    09:13:54 < Daenyth> it works, but it's not fun
09:14:07 < psycho_oreos> Daenyth, I've documented a bit on backtrack's wiki, however I too myself never bothered to flash it personally, you need windows to do it
    09:14:16 < Daenyth> ugh
    09:14:21 < Daenyth> that's not polite
    09:14:26 < Daenyth> hrmm... would vmware work?
    09:14:30 < Daenyth> I don't own any windows machines
    09:15:03 < psycho_oreos> Daenyth, http://backtrack.offensive-security.com … _High_Rate
09:15:17 < psycho_oreos> only with usb should one use vmware
    09:15:26 < Daenyth> hmm, no go then
09:15:36 < Daenyth> well thanks a lot, that gives me something to look into.
09:15:39 < psycho_oreos> I've got all the firmwares and stuff for it but never got around testing it
09:16:28 < Daenyth> where do you get the firmware?
09:16:43 < psycho_oreos> I've listed the links on that link I just posted
09:16:58 < psycho_oreos> but the firmware, you can't flash it via linux I believe, they are all .exe binary blobs
    09:17:12 < Daenyth> ahh thanks
09:17:20 < Daenyth> wonder if wine could do it...
09:17:52 < psycho_oreos> wine might be able to do it but I wouldn't risk bricking it
09:18:10 < Daenyth> well my dad has a partly windows laptop.. I'll try that
09:18:44 < psycho_oreos> Daenyth, if you have any success, I'd like to hear about it I need to do something similar with a pair of hermes I cards I got
    09:19:02 < Daenyth> will do
    09:19:08 < psycho_oreos> and I'm not sure about using win2k, you might need win98
    09:19:15 < Daenyth> uh... hrm
    09:19:22 < Daenyth> well it's winXP MCE
    09:19:33 < psycho_oreos> *shrug* might work
