  • "Sharepoint 2013" is giving error that prevents local domain users authentication for "Team Foundation Server"

I am getting 2 errors through the event viewer that prevents TFS 2013 authentication for local domain users, also this error started appearing after having TFS upgraded to [ 12.0.30723.0 (Tfs2013.Update3) ].
    1st Error (from administrative events):
The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPUsageImportJobDefinition (ID a51a0244-765d-433b-8502-0bb0540ad1fd) threw an exception. More information is included below.
    Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS' is denied.
    Tried so far:-
    - changed the path to another folder from "Diagnostic Logging" in another drive, but still getting the same error.
    2nd Error (from application server):
    DistributedCOM error
The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {000C101C-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
     and APPID
    {000C101C-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
Which I already got fixed using the following steps on a thread I opened before (but still getting the same error).
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/3896e35c-b99a-4d30-b662-f92d337c8d6f/windows-servers-components-services-and-regedit-permissions-are-grayed-out-for-my-admin-account?forum=winservergen
    Other Fixes I tried
    - Found on another topic that it is not sharepoint that is causing the problem, but it is the generated ASP.NET web pages used for testing is causing the memory to fill up due to cashing on RAM, the fix suggested to change IIS cashing from RAM to HD to prevent
loading up using w3wp.exe from processes.
    Concern
    - by checking other topics for people having the same problem, it was mentioned that this error appeared after the lastest TFS update, is there is a fix for it ?

  • WLSM and wireless user authentication.

I'm attempting to put together a solution to wireless security which does NOT include any kind of client configuration or installed supplicant. I want the wifi network to be wide open, no wep. When users attempt to get on the network they are directed to a ssl encrypted web interface to enter credentials checked against a radius server. I've been told the new WLSM for the 6500 along with 12.2.15+ code on the WAP's might have this feature. Can anyone confirm this? I've heard about this in the past, as something that cisco is working on, but didn't think anything had come to fruition yet..
    Thanks,
    -Kyle

    Responding to my own post..
The solution I was fishing for is a combonation of IP Mobility enabled WAP's with the SLSM in a central location then routing them to a SESM enabled gateway.

  • Where can I find User authentication log?

    Hi,
I am trying to find the log that has User authentication details such as login failed, invalid, success so on.
I looked at SharedServices_security log. It has fail/success message but it doesn't have User name. It is just saying Anonymous ID.
Do I have to enable anything on server or is there any other way to pull this kind of info from front-end.
By the way, we are using EPM 11.1.2.1
    Thanks in advance,
    PM

You could find the authenrication service log in the format "server_messages_OriginatorType.log"
which will be under the EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE/diagnostics/logs/ReportingAnalysis folder.
You could refer this document for other log details : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_troubleshooting_11121.pdf
Note:You may need to put the log level to trace to get more information.

I haven't setup autonomous APs before but I think I might see the problem. You are defining an authentication list called "eap_methods" but you never call for it in your SSID settings. Instead there you call a list named "eap_list" In addition, I think you might be missing one more command. So perhaps try this:
    dot11 ssid test
    authentication open eap eap_methods
    authentication network-eap eap_methods
    authentication key-management wpa version 2
    guest-mode
    Hope this helps!

  • Wireless PEAP users authenticated by TACACS+

    Hello,
I have the following scenario, access points 1214 (fat AP) connected to ACS (RADIUS) and the ACS integrated with Novell LDAP as external database.
The wireless users use PEAP for authentication, here the problem when I tried to connect wirelessly with username and password configured locally on the ACS database it works fine but if I use a username and password listed on the Novell LDAP I got the error ?Auth type not supported by External DB? .
    Note:
For VPN users, I can connect and access the network resources from outside with username and password listed on Novell LDAP database (integration between ACS and Novell LDAP is fine). Maybe this note could help you!!
    Regards,
    Belal

    Hello Darran,
    Thx for your feedback..
now i'm trying to configure EAP-TLS but as stated in the configuration guide i should have CA certificates for both ACS and the wireless users. here the question, shall i have CA server or thers is another way to complete the task (use local generated certificate for example if possible) ?

  • Messaging Server 3.5: user authentications being rejected

Using Messaging Server 3.5, user authentications are being

    <P>
Messaging 3.5.2 fixes the following bug. In 3.5, the host name that
is set in the client is compared to the mailHost field in the
directory. If the client config is different from the entry in
the directory, the authentication fails. In 3.5.2, the AUTH
command compares the uid of the client (which is guaranteed to be
unique) and does not compare the host name to any value in the

  • Setup Java system directory server 6 client for user authentication

I am trying to set up a native LDAP client for sun directory server 6 for network based user authentication. I checked the sun doc for naming service (LDAP) and the documentation are for setting up LDAP client for directory server 5. Is there any documentation for setting up LDAP client for directory server 6? Or the documents for setting LDAP client for directory server 5 is still good for 6? Particularly, I want to use SSL communication between server and client.

    Hi,
could be one of the other 'bad jokes' of DS/ldapclient because the documentation describes a lot of stuff about profiles etc. but: you need some special schema files to use the whole stuff and they are not installed with Solaris or DS (and they include the NisDomainObject). I had to search for them in the internet. They are also printed in the documentation. Save them in your server's config/schema directory as i.e. 61DUAConfigProfile.ldif and 62nisDomain.ldif and try idsconf again (maybe you have to cleanup something).
I test and prepare DS6 here, and we will use it in production too. I hadn't any problem with it and it has some important advantages over DS5.2. But we won't have a huge directory so I can't tell you anything more about it.

  • The User Authentication Methode required by this server can't be found.

Ok, I have a network of iMacs that are bound to OS X Server and the users log in with network based user folders via Kerberos and Open Directory.
This is all working just fine, and all iMac users have full access to all sheared volumes as per the ACLs...
My problem is when any of our office laptops that are not bound to the server and run on local user accounts need to login for access to the AFP shared volumes. ALL but one of these Laptops are receiving "The User Authentication Methode required by this server can't be found." Dialog box when attempting to login. They never even have a chance to enter login names or passwords.
What am I missing? I can't find any settings on this one laptop user account that are any different that the other laptops user accounts...

Steve can you explain more on how I use this Kerberos.app?
I opened it on the one laptop that is working and can see one ticket in the Ticket Cache, and below that there is the same ticket listed with two subentries. All of them are listed as Expired at the moment, but then I have not connected to the server with this system since yesterday...
When I open the App on the systems that don;t work, there are no tickets listed. I clicked on the new button, but the info it's asking for is different than any of the info I found in the working systems Kerberos app... ??? Help.
It's asking for Name, Realm, Password...

  • Cisco NAC: Issue for the Wireless Users being assigned "Un-Authenticated Role" to stop accessing the Network !!!

    Hi,
I am looking for a solution to deal with the wireless NAC users being authenticating (Web Login Only) from a particular AD group. The mapped users gets into a particular role and access VLAN but un-mapped users get the default role which is "Un-Authentication Role" but also gets the same Access VLAN. So, the un-wanted users gets also the same access which is undesired.
I tried with one solution which is, i put those users into a role named as "Deny_Role" and Enable a Timer of 1 minute (least Time) on it, which seems working but i can see that user is disconnecting (session timeout) after 3 or 5 minutes. I want to limit this but again, i do not find this as an appropriate solution.
We could deal with wired users easily, bounce the port and get them again in "Unauthenticated Role" and VLAN will be "Un-Auth VLAN" with no network access or rediect them into a particular role with a specific VLAN. But, this is not valid in case of "Wireless Users".
So, I am looking for a solution to deal with the wireless users in this situation...
Please advise or give an idea.

    Mubasher Sultan
