Wizard control trigger transition

Hi,
I encountered a problem with the Wizard Control of VC7.1 SP4
I have a wizard with several steps which are shown as numbers in the upper wizard bar in the correct order. If I trigger a transition from step 1 to step 3 the wizard bar now only shows the numbers 1 and 3. After a transition to from step 3 to step 2, the wizard bar shows the steps in the order 1 3 2.
Is this a bug? Where is the correct place to report VC bugs? There are some more VC controls with odd behavior which should be fixed in the next service pack.

Did you use actions to switch between the wizard steps?
If so, this may be the reason.
The wizard road-map (the numbers on the top), are calculated when the wizard is drawn on the screen for the first time.
However, this calculation is done only according to the default transition lines and ignores transition actions.
So if there are no transition lines, the road-map will show only steps the user has already visited.
To fix that, you need to connect the steps with default transition lines in the order you wish them to appear. The transition lines don't have to do anything, just be there so the default route will be calculated correctly.
I have created two screenshots that will help you find how to create transitin lines and how to select which is the default transition (in case you have more than one transition form a single step):

When you are trying with WIZARD for table control, In the seq, step it will ask you for DDIC table name OR from PROGRAM with Internal table and corresponding workarea. Try to do proper selection and assign correct values it willl give the correct definition.

How to control page transitions?

Hi all,
I would like to know if anyone knows how to easily control page transitions in a web application.
The goal is to maintain a coherent session state even when the user uses browser navigation buttons (back, forward) and direct link to internal application pages (bypassing the login).

How can I use 3 buttons to control the transitions of my case structure?

Hopefully this will be an easy fix... Although I cannot seem to work it out??
I am building a state machine inside a while-loop with the following states:
1. System idle.
2. Self-cal pci card.
3. Run DAQ and do my processing.
4. Stop the vi.
I can do this using a enum no problems (with state 1. System idle as the initialising state for the while-loop)... But I really want to have is 4 buttons on the front panel, one for each of the 4 states, so that all the user needs to do is press the button corresponding to the state they want and the appropriate transition ocurrs... For example, when the vi first runs, the idle state is operating... When the user is ready can then hit button 2 for a self-cal... Is self-cal is ok, they hit button 3 for DAQ... Once the DAQ is finished the user can hit button 4 to stop the vi..
My problem is that I need the current button to unlatch when another button is hit...
Any suggestions?... This is killing me!

Here's what I had in mind. You can easily add conditions so code only executes once after a control change, for example.

Wizard control with VI in a subpanel, passing input and output

Objective: To create a 3 step wizard-like interface utilizing a tab control. The middle tab in the tab control needs to contain the front panel of separate "processing" VI. The processing VI uses the data collected from the previous tab's controls as input parameters. The third tab needs to receive one or more values computed by the processing VI.
EXAMPLE:
Step 1 (ie: Tab1) collects some settings from the user and has a "Next" button. When the user clicks the "NEXT" button, the tab control changes to the second tab.
Step 2 (ie: Tab 2) The second tab contains a subpanel into which we have loaded our "processing" VI. The "processing" VI has an elaborate front panel. We loaded the "processing" VI into a subpanel in order to display the processing VI's front panel. When the "processing" VI completes, we want to switch to Step 3 (ie: Tab 3) passing several result values into Tab 3's controls.
Passing data in/out of a subvi seems very easy, but I'm unable to work out how to pass data in/out of a VI loaded into a subpanel. Any assistance with creating the above user interface structure /logic would be appreciated. We are not stuck on the above architecture just the sequence of events. If there is something that is more appropriate just let me know.

In order to interact with the controls and indicators on a subpanel, you have to get a reference to them. Then you can read or write them using property nodes. If you get a reference to the subvi itself, you can use methods to set or get values.
Check out the example called Subpanel Templates. It shows one way to get a reference to a control using a vi called LoadandRun_byName*. There is also a vi called FindControlByName* that returns a control/indicator reference. Look at the block diagram of FindControlByName* to see how it finds the references. You can make a version of this vi that gives you the references that you need. Note: Check the LoadandRun_byName* vi if you have questions about how to get the subvi reference.
*It's not easy to find these vis. They are located at:

So in your application you can use property nodes to write the data fron "Tab 1" when you go to "Tab 2" and then write the data from "Tab 2" to "Tab 3" when you go to "Tab 3".
Whether this is the best implementation for your application depends on a few factors. The advantage of this approach is that you can use your subvi without making changes to it. The disadvantage is that you are dynamically calling the subvi.
Some of the down sides of dynamically called vis are:
Not automaticallcy included in builds so you
Property nodes are much slower than wires, but if you are in human time (i.e. user interface stuff), this shouldn't be an issue.

Control the transition

There is a button to control the title to show/hide. If the button clicked frequently the effects will go to crazy.
I add the code " anyToHide.effect.stop(); " but it doesn't work. How can I control the effects ?

Sounds like you need to take it back to whomever serviced it 2 months ago and have them honor the warranty on there repair work.

Trigger transition similar to "on application start" (no user action)

Structure:
State 1 -> State 2 -> State 3....and so on.
On application start there is a simple transition from State 1 -> State 2
From anywhere in the application (i.e. State 3):
how would one add interaction that goes to State 1 and transition to State 2?
am currently "limited" to transitioning to State 2 from anywhere else, but this isn't the intended result
If this is easily done in Catalyst, and I'm just not seeing it, please do tell...
Otherwise, yes, am very new to Catalyst/Flex, but am not new to AS3/Flash....so if this requires some Flex/MXML/AS3 work, I think I should be able to follow instruction

Ok here is how to 'auto-trigger' state changes in a Flash Catalyst project
You will need to open your Flash Catalyst project in Flash Builder, so if you are using 1.0 this is a one way trip (so consider yourself warned). With 1.5 'Panini', you should be able to re-open the file back in Flash Catalyst (but is it a preview release, so promises).
In main.mxml file, locate the <s:transitions> portion of the code. You should see a set of nested tags that define each state to state transition. At the first tag after the <s:transitions> (it should be either a <s:Parallel or <s:Sequence tag), at the end of the tag add the following attribute:
effectEnd="state1_effectEndHandler(event)"
Original Tag:
<s:Parallel>
New Tag:
<s:Parallel effectEnd="parallel1_effectEndHandler(event)">
Now in the <fx:Script> portion of the mxml file, you will need to add an event handler:

where Page2 is the name of the next state you want to transition to.
You can continue to follow this pattern to chain more together by added the effectEnd attribute to the next set of transitions, and adding matching event handlers
I have attached a simple demo. Click on the button to trigger going from state 1 to state 2, it should auto transition to state 3. You will need to open it in Flash Builder.

9.0.3 Bug Report:Attribute Wizard:Control Hints

I've run into a major bug in 9.0.3 Preview.
I was editing the display hints for an EO. I double-clicked on the last attribute in the list and nothing happened for a little while (2 seconds?). So I double-clicked the attribute again. Since the Hints "tab" was pre-selected, I received this error for all further Attributes I tried to open via the Attribute Wizard.
When I exited and re-started JDev 9.0.3, I was able to see other properties of all Attributes except the Hints properties (same error as before). Once the Hints "tab" is selected, moving to any other "tab" reports the error.

When drag Google Maps (embed/API) control trigger swipeleft or swiperight event

Swipeleft o swiperight events are trigger not only with touch screens, also with mouse pointer in PC/Mac. The problem is that if the user move mouse for move map to right or to left, then these events are triggered.
How can I prevent it?

Using Map-options you can disable dragging ,zooming etc
ex :

Control of transition progress? Possible?

I want to place a clip over and in the middle of another clip in a circle or oval shape. The circle transition would be perfect if I could set and hold the size of the circle through the running of the clip. Is there a way to do this or is there another tool for this effect? thx, EE

funny idea to abuse a transition as an effect … but not an editor's first choice:
• drag your 2nd clip over the 1st
• apply under Effects/Keying a 'Mask' on top clip
• select top clip, in the info pane you'll find some 'knobs' to play with:
on first try, it looks like you can only apply rounded-corners with the slider
but you can drag'n-shift the numerical value of 'roundness' beyond 100%!
plus, selecting the Mask effect offers you 4 handles to correct the mask from rectangle to square/circle, to create an oval or circle shape.

Help: Controlling transitions in flash web galleries from CS4/Bridge

Hi all,
Is there a way to control the transitions from one image to the next when generating a flash web gallery? I'm using CS4/Bridge on WinXP.
The fade out/in from one image to the next is very chunky, no matter what the file size. And that's on my local copy before I've uploaded it to the web.
I also haven't found a way to generate web galleries from within CS4 itself (looked at file/automate, as well as window/output, but nothing obvious in either location).

Your procedures are correct. The pertinent features have been moved from PS to Bridge. You can use the old method by finding the respective scripts on your install DVD's Extras section (or downloading them). Regarding transition performance and speed I don't think you can do anything. that is solely determined by the Flash template used for that and if you have no way of creating your own ones, there doesn't seem much point in even worrying about things you may not be able to change. Use it or loose it, if you allow me to put it that way. You can however certainly find enough other gallery tools on the web, they may just require you to change your approach and learn some basic web design stuff...

Is there any way to control the transition of the accordion
headers. I want a confirm message to appear when a header in an
accordion control is clicked and if the user selects Yes then only
the accordion should open the clicked header portion else the
previous header portion should remain open.
I tried to override the headerClick event and its event
Handler but both are declared as private in the Accordion class
also the event.preventDefault doesnot function. Is there any way to
customize the header click event handling?

But, as said before, sharing the same session shouldn't give any problems at all. Which problems are you occurring? If you have problems with that they shares the same session, then you are apparently storing values in the session scope while they belongs in the request scope.

But if I change the backing bean to session scope, the same problem exists.
And i need to set the userID to session for future reference.
the scenario is like this,
1. I am loading the JSF application in iFrame of a .NET page and the user can invoke multiple instance of the same .Net page in different browser at a time.
2. After loading the JSF application, the server will establish session with the browser and at that time the same session is sharing by the windows.
3. From the JSF page i am again invoking a popup window for a wizard and this popup window will be in the same session with the parent window. So whe we invoke the popup window from the any other JSF page, it will also share the same session although the userid is different
I have tested and the same session cookies are shared among the pages. So we need someway to manage the creation of session. By writting a servletResponseWrapper and overridding the addCookie method will have any effect?
Or can you please suggest some other alternatives?

Transition stiyes for ALL muse elements and widgets

When are you planning on introducing "Transition Styles" for ALL muse elements?
By these I mean (at least): fade, vertical (top & bottom) and horizontal (left & right)
Having them available for only some elements like slideshows keeps us designers from being as creative as possible, and it's 2014, we CAN'T have "dead" looking elements on our websites.
By "Transition Styles" I mean:
Page Transitions
Button Transitions (regular and for menu widgets of course)
PSD Button Transitions
Target and TRIGGER transitions for compositions (this is important)
Footer Transitions
THIS WILL MAKE BOTH YOUR PRODUCT AND OUR FINAL DESIGNS LOOK LIVE AND CONTEMPORARY
IMO transitions are an essential thing which gives a new dimension to every website. Without being able to control this, our designs will look static and "dead".
P.S. I'm at the end of my trial and this is something of the highest importance to me (at least to know if it's coming in the near future) which will tip the balance for me to buy the 1yr subscription. I've thoroughly tested muse for the last 20 days and have came up with the conclusion that this is the only thing missing for me to be able to create website designs which can stand shoulder to shoulder with award winning website designs. Having Transition Styles available for ALL elements will give us designers such power and creative freedom to do things some of which even you couldn't anticipate.

Well, I've managet to re-create it from scratch in muse (without edge animate). I only found myself limited without the ability to assign transitions to ALL elements in muse. For instance, on the landing page you can see the Costa Rica Mobile Web Design section (with the astronaut etc.) And you can notice "WE INNOVATE", "WE PREPARE" and "WE LAUNCH" sections and how when you click on each of them, the content changes but the buttons also have a shape coming from above (vertical transition). I created that using Lightbox or Blank composition (can't remember ATM), used triggers (with inserted images) to act as "WE INNOVATE" etc. and light box areas to act as content with images and text. I then assigned vertical transition to the content and RIGHT THERE, all I needed to make it perfect was to be able to assign "Vertical Transition" to the TRIGGER. I hope you understand what I'm getting at.
So, giving TRIGGERS their own transition styles, not just targets, doubles the dynamic effect possibilities of the website. And That's what made me come to conclusion that ALL muse elements should have a transition style option. It would let designers be comfortable and rely on that option always being there and would remove disadvantages of certain widgets and elements. For instance, I bet we all are craving for a menu bar with smoothly fading buttons and for pages swiping from the side or fading.

How get connection string of default database of CreateUserWizard control

hi,
i am creating website in which I add create user wizard control, I want to restrict user to use one email id only for one time,
but after creating and testing,I get that it allow same email id more than one time, for that I search lot and get this on msdn library, they show that to change config file

but,I didn't figure out any database in vs2010 that store data of create user wizard, mean i don't know how to access it in from vs2010
site is working fine, it add new user , allow me login, but where the database???

Wizard not shown in model after update to SP5

Hi,
I updated the CE to SP5. I have a VC model with a wizard control and when I open it now I get an internal error with the following message:
ERROR: Failed to instantiate core.lyt:Layout aspect for null ('Class' is null or not an object)
[W] Failed to repaint Wizard1
I can see the roadmap but content of the wizard steps are not shown anymore. Everything worked fine with SP4. Anybody else with the same problem?

thanks for the info about the patched SPS5. Is it already available because there is no information in the SWDC about a patched version. In other words, how can I be sure that I really download the right version.
