  • Cannot find documentation for MRCA

    Now that the new MRCA tool version 10.1.2.0.3 is available where is the documentation for it? I have only been able to find docs that were last updated in August. I'm going to install in a 10.2.0.1 db and I need the pre-install info.
    Thanks,
    Denise

    Hi Denise,
    The information in the August versions of the RepCA guides applies to the
    10.1.2.0.3 version of RepCA:
    Oracle® Application Server Metadata Repository Creation Assistant User's Guide
    10g Release 2 (10.1.2) for UNIX
    B14129-03
    Oracle® Application Server Metadata Repository Creation Assistant User's Guide
    10g Release 2 (10.1.2) for Microsoft Windows
    B14130-03
    There are 3 updates/caveats having to do with running 10.1.2.0.3 RepCA on
    a 10.2 database. These will be in the January version of the 10.1.2 release
    notes which will be posted on OTN soon. In the meantime, I have cut and
    pasted them below.
    We are working on a better way to coordinate certification updates with the
    release notes.
    Thanks!

    3.1.17 Oracle Ultra Search Required (Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.x) only)
    If you plan to install the OracleAS Metadata Repository on Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.x), then you must install Oracle Ultra Search on the database.
    OracleAS Metadata Repository Creation Assistant checks if your database contains the WKSYS and WKPROXY schema. If your database does not contain them, OracleAS Metadata Repository Creation Assistant displays the following warning:
    "The Database does not contain Ultra Search Schemas WKSYS and/or WKPROXY. Please install them and try again. Refer to the Database Install Guide and Ultra Search User Guide for more information."
    If your database does not have Oracle Ultra Search installed, you can install it from the Oracle Database 10g Companion CD-ROM. See the Oracle Database Companion CD Installation Guide for details.
    After installing Oracle Ultra Search, you need to load the schemas onto the database using the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA). Refer to Oracle MetaLink (http://www.metalink.oracle.com) Note.337992.1 for loading Ultra Search schemas.
    3.1.18 Patch Required Prior to Running the Metadata Repository Creation Assistant on a 10.2 Real Application Cluster Database
    You must install ARU patch 7993184 before running the Metadata Repository Creation Assistant on a 10.2 Real Application Cluster Database. If you do not apply the patch, you will receive an error message during Oracle Ultra Search configuration.
    To apply the patch:
    Install the 10.2 Real Application Cluster database.
    Create the database using the DBCA or during the installation.
    Stop all Oracle Processes.
    Install Oracle Ultra Search in the same Oracle home from the companion CD.
    Apply ARU patch 7993184. Go to Oracle MetaLink (http://www.metalink.oracle.com) to obtain the ARU patch.
    Invoke the DBCA to configure Oracle Ultra Search.
    Run the Metadata Repository Creation Assistant.
    3.1.19 Populate DB_DOMAIN Before Running Oracle Metadata Repository Creation Assistant on an Oracle 10.2 Database
    The default installation option for Oracle Database 10g (Release 2) 10.2 does not populate the DB_DOMAIN. The OracleAS Metadata Repository Creation Assistant uses the value of DB_DOMAIN to construct the Oracle Application Server farm name as $SID.$DB_DOMAIN. You should ensure that the DB_DOMAIN is populated in the database with a valid value prior to running OracleAS Metadata Repository Creation Assistant. Failure to do will result in the default farm name of REGRESS.RDBMS.DEV.US.ORACLE.COM.

    .

    There is no other solution than to drop and recreate your database.
    What you did is absolutely forbidden by Oracle and the pain you are feeling is precisely the pain you deserve to feel for what you did.
    About the only question left on the table is whether you deserve the pain because through ignorance, you thought you could drive
    the car without getting a driver's license, or through intent, you knew you should have a license before you drove but you did it
    anyway.
    We can all argue about whether it is or isn't one of the dumbest things about the implementation of users in the Oracle database but
    the ONLY approved way to do it is to export the data, create a new user, and reimport the data into a schema owned by the new user.
    Count this as an important lesson learned. The Oracle Database is not a toy like MS Access. You MUST read the documentation or
    you WILL suffer the consequences.

  • IDM 11g + 10g SSO supported on 11gR2?

    Hey all,
    according to the fusion middleware 11g certification guide it says that the database versoin 11.1.0.7+ is supported. I'm assuming that means 11gR2 as well?
    It appears Ultra search has been desupported in 11gR2: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/readmes.112/e11015/toc.htm#BABBFCCH
    So when I run the SSO 10 RCU it fails against an 11gR2 database "The database does not contain Ultra Search Schemas WKSYS and or WKPROXY. Please install them and try again."

    ULTRA SEARCH 10G 서버 콤포넌트를 수동으로 설치, 설치 해제하는 방법
    =============================================
    PURPOSE
    이 문서는, Ultra Search 10G를 수동으로 설치하거나 설치 해제하는 방법을
    기술하고 있다.
    Explanation
    1. 수동 설치 절차
    1) Oracle Text와 JVM이 정상적으로 설치되어 있는지 확인한다. 관련된
    정보는 다음 문서에 기술 되어 있다
    Bulletin No: 22844 Oracle Text 10gR1의 수동 설치와, 설치 해제 방법
    2) OS 프롬프트에서 다음 디렉토리로 이동한다
    At the OS prompt, change to the following directory:
    Unix: $ORACLE_HOME/ultrasearch/admin
    Windows: $ORACLE_HOME\ultrasearch\admin
    3) JVM이 정상적으로 설치 되어 있는지 확인한다. Oracle JVM 설치 절차와 관련
    해더는 다음 문서를 참조한다 :
    Note 276554.1 <How to Reload the JVM in 10.1.0.X>
    4) SQLPlus를 사용하여, SYSDBA 권한을 가지고 SYS 계정으로 데이터베이스 연결한다.
    5) wk0install.sql SQL script를 실행시킨다.
    파라미터 요약:
    -- SYS = "&1" <== sys 유저 명: SYS
    -- SYSPW = "&2" <== sys 유저의 패스워드: (예 change_on_install)
    -- WKSYSPW = "&3" <== WKSYS 유저의 패스워드: (예 wksys)
    -- WK_TABLESPACE = "&4" <== WKSYS의 default tablespace: (예 SYSAUX)
    -- WK_TEMPTABLESPACE = "&5" <== WKSYS의 temporary tablespace: (예 TEMP)
    -- CONN_STRING = "&6" <== non-RAC instance 환경에서 Ultra Search를 설치할 경우
    null string을 지정 : (예 "")
    RAC 환경에서 설치할 경우 TNS descriptor: (예 <host name>:<port number>:<SID>
    - 또는 -
    (DESCRIPTION=(LOAD_BALANCE=yes)(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)
    (HOST=cls02a)(PORT=3999)) (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=cls02b)(PORT=3999)))
    (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=acme.us.com)))" )
    -- PORTAL_USER = "&7" <== Portal 유저. Portal을 사용하지 않는다면 null string 입력: (예 "")
    -- LAUNCH_ANYWHERE = "&8" <== TRUE 또는 FALSE; Clustered File System (CFS)을 사용하는
    RAC일 경우에만 TRUE 지정한다. 그외의 경우 FALSE: (예 FALSE)
    다음과 같은 명령 실행을 통해 Ultra Search 데이터베이스 패케지를 설치한다:
    SQLPLUS> set echo on
    SQLPLUS> spool ultrasearch_inst.log
    SQLPLUS> @$ORACLE_HOME/ultrasearch/admin/wk0install.sql SYS change_on_install wksys SYSAUX TEMP "" "" FALSE
    SQLPLUS> spool off
    SQLPLUS> exit
    6) wk0install.sql 스크립트를 실행하는데 에러가 발생하지 않았다면 수동
    설치는 성공한 것이다.
    7) wk0install.sql 스크립트를 실행하여 설치 후에는 객체의 갯수를 확인한다
    SQL> SELECT COUNT(*) FROM DBA_OBJECTS
    WHERE OWNER = 'WKSYS';
    COUNT(*)
    351
    참고: 대략 351개의 객체가 생성되어야 한다.
    SQL> SELECT COUNT(*) FROM DBA_OBJECTS
    WHERE OWNER = 'WKSYS' AND STATUS = 'INVALID';
    COUNT(*)
    0
    참고: invalid 상태의 객체가 없아야 한다.
    2. 수동 설치 해제 절차
    1) Ultra Search Schema (WKSYS) 설치 해제와 관련된 절차는 9.2.x 매뉴얼에 기술된
    내용과 동일하다. (Bulletin No: 21563 ULTRA SEARCH 수동 설치 및 제거 (9.2.0.1)
    의 내용을 참고한다. )
    2) OS 프롬프트에서 다음 디렉토리로 이동한다.
    Unix: $ORACLE_HOME/ultrasearch/admin
    Windows: $ORACLE_HOME\ultrasearch\admin
    3) SQLPlus를 사용하여, SYSDBA 권한을 가지고 SYS 계정으로 데이터베이스 연결한다.
    4) WKSYS 유저가 데이터베이스에 연결 된 상태가 아닌지 확인한다. 만약 WKSYS 사용자가
    연결된 상태라면, 해당 세션을 죽이거나, 세션이 종료 될 때 까지 기다린다:
    SELECT SID, SERIAL#, OSUSER FROM V$SESSION
    WHERE USERNAME = 'WKSYS';
    5) wk0deinst.sql SQL 스크립트를 실행시킨다.
    파라미터 요약:
    -- SYS = "&1" <== sys 유저 명: SYS
    -- SYSPW = "&2" <== sys 유저의 패스워드: (예 change_on_install)
    -- CONN_STRING = "&3" <== non-RAC instance 환경에서 Ultra Search를 설치할 경우
    null string을 지정 : (예 "")
    RAC 환경에서 설치할 경우 TNS descriptor: (예 <host name>:<port number>:<SID>
    - 또는 -
    (DESCRIPTION=(LOAD_BALANCE=yes)(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)
    (HOST=cls02a)(PORT=3999)) (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=cls02b)(PORT=3999)))
    (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=acme.us.com)))" )
    Ultra Search 데이터베이스 패키지를 다음 명령을 이용하여 설치 해제한다:
    SQLPLUS> set echo on
    SQLPLUS> spool ultrasearch_deinst.log
    SQLPLUS> @$ORACLE_HOME/ultrasearch/admin/wk0deinst.sql SYS
    change_on_install ""
    SQLPLUS> spool off
    SQLPLUS> exit
    6) 만약 wk0deinst.sql 스크립트를 실행하는 과정에서 에러가 발생하지 않았다면, WKSYS에
    대한 수동 설치 해제는 성공적으로 종료된 것이다.

  • 11.1.0.7 patch kit DBUA goes slow at 33% and runs for 21 hours +

    Trying to upgrade 11.1.0.6 Windows Server 2003 32-bit install to 11.1.0.7 and finding that while the installer completes OK, when I get to running the DBUA part of the upgrade (interactively), it runs fine to about 33% (execrm.sql it would seem from the logfiles) and the Database Server upgrade step, and then the CPU meter flat-lines at 100%. DBUA does tick over slowly, and I let it run overnight but after 21 hours it had slowed down seemingly to a halt at 80% (though not hung). The log files were not being touched/updated through this time.
    I restored from the backup, and retried, but it did the same thing. From what I've seen of others experiences, this DBUA part of the upgrade should only take 30 minutes.
    Not a DBA during the day; not sure what to do from here. Can anyone provide a suggestion?

    Thanks for that. It's now completed. I did have the OracleCSService started; associated with some 10g assets on the same box. Shut all ORACLE 10g processes down, and it flew through the problem step. It reported the I_DIANA_VERSION constraint violation, which I understand can be ignored, but it's also came up with:
    +... checking the default Ultra Search instance.+

    ORA-06512: at line 59
    ... right at the end. Can't seem to find anything on this; Ultra-Search is marked VALID, so figure I can continue. When I ran the compilation script, it did run an Ultra Search validation which passed, so unsure whether this was a re-execution of the earlier 'check' that failed.
    Many thanks to all who have contributed here.

  • UltraSearch and ACLs

    Hi @all!
    Does anyone know how to use the ACLHelper class?
    I have implemented my own CrawlerAgent and I want to protect the fetched data with ACLs, but I have no idea how it works.
    I have tested the addPrincipal and addDenyPrincipal methods with some differnet options e.g.:
    aclHelper.addPrincipal("orcladmin",AclHelper.GUID,AclHelper.USER);
    aclHelper.addPrincipal("orcladmin",AclHelper.DN,AclHelper.USER);
    aclHelper.addPrincipal("myrealm/orcladmin",AclHelper.GUID,AclHelper.USER);
    aclHelper.addPrincipal("myrealm/orcladmin",AclHelper.DN,AclHelper.USER);
    aclHelper.addPrincipal("cn=orcladmin,cn=users,dc=mydomain,dc=at",AclHelper.GUID,AclHelper.USER);
    aclHelper.addPrincipal("cn=orcladmin,cn=users,dc=mydomain,dc=at",AclHelper.DN,AclHelper.USER);
    aclHelper.addPrincipal("EEF514BBA65E1536E0340003BA5D0D8B",AclHelper.GUID,AclHelper.USER); // this hash value is the GUID of orcladmin.
    Adding the acl to the url:
    urlNode.setProperty(UrlData.ACL,aclHelper.getAclString());
    After indexing all url data with ultra search admin interface and starting ultra search sample query application (/ultrasearch/query/usearch.jsp) I got the followqing errors:
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-20000: Oracle Ultra Search-Error
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
    about to fetch row 1

    ORA-06512: in "WKSYS.WK_QRY", line 1009
    ORA-06512: in line 1
    Note: ultra search backend (DB) is configured for secure search and is reqistered against LDAP (OID).
    Please, can someone help me?
    regards,
    Dorian.

    ==========END=OF=DISPLAY=========================
    Whenever I try to login as HR and use the HR schema
    I have the following problem:
    Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.0.1.1.1 - Production
    With the Partitioning option
    JServer Release 9.0.1.1.1 - Production
    SQL> connect hr/hr
    ERROR:
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
    Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.
    =========END=OF=DISPLAY===========================
    Could anyone suggest a solution to this problem ?
    I would like to access all the demos, but I don't
    see the Sample Schema Guide on tahiti.oracle.com,
    as referenced in another question.
    Thank you,
    Robert Freeman

    Justin,
    Thanks for your suggestion I found this advice
    in another thread:
    If you have a newly installed the database you
    should unlock the HR schema and reset its password
    since the password will be expired.
    Login as SYS user
    alter user hr account unlock;
    alter user hr identified by hr;
    Now you should be able to login to hr schema
    When I executed the first alter I got the
    following message:
    SQL> connect sys/password as sysdba
    Connected.
    SQL> alter user hr account unlock;
    alter user hr account unlock
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01918: user 'HR' does not exist
    So maybe I have two issues to resolve ?
    Re-create the HR user and Re-Create the
    HR's schema ?

  • WKSYS. Packages error PLS-00753

    After full import:
    impdp DIRECTORY=DATAPUMP_IMPORT DUMPFILE=orcl.dmp FULL=y LOGFILE=import.log
    wksys. has many package bodies that import with error PLS-00753 malformed or currupted wrapped unit..
    how do I fix this.. what is WKSYS is it part of apex?

    Dear Merlin128,
    There may be invalid objects on the database. What you may do is you can run the utlrp.sql script under the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin folder and see if you had any invalid objects that has been validated with the script.
    Oracle Error :: PLS-00753
    malformed or corrupted wrapped unit
    Cause
    The format of the wrapped unit being compiled is not understood by the compiler. This may be because the unit was edited or modified after it was wrapped.
    Action
    Rewrap the unit.IF the problem persists, rewarp the unit that has been affected.

    Hope That Helps.

  • Dbms job wksys.wk_job.invoke(1,1) for replication?

    I am monitoring a database I did not create and I noticed this job
    wksys.wk_job.invoke(1,1) running with another wksys.wk_job.invoke(1,2)
    running.
    These servers are running replication, can I assume this job is for replication?

    User WKSYS seems related to Ultra Search, of which you can learn a bit more at Ultra Search
