WKT and Three Dimensional Coordinates?

It seems that the WKT support in Oracle Spatial doesn't support 3 dimensional points. Is that true? If so, why not?
Looking at the OGC spec, it appears that it only has allowances for 2 dimensions. But other DBs, like SQLPlus, have extended the spec to support 3 dimensions.
Anyone know why the spec only supports 2D? Anyone know why Oracle only supports 2D?

Hi folks,
Is it true that nothing has changed in terms of WKT functions supporting 3D and measures? I am testing on a 10.2.0.3 machine and the 3D linestring below causes a java error for FROM_WKT and oddly enough if I put in into binary, then it returns a 2D version of the geometry.

Integrating plot multi x-y vi's and three dimensional graph vi's

i wish to plot a three dimensional graph of multiple data points (there is no formula or math function involved so currently simulated using dc signals). i used plot multi x-y vi for acquiring the points but it is in "2-d picture" format. i used 3-D surface graph vi for graph generation which is in a different format. can i integrate the two somehow or is there any other way out?

To plot multiple x,y curves in 3D use the 3D Curve.vi
The attached example demonstrates using 3D Curve.vi to plot several time varying curves.

Can Java convert text in to three dimensional forms?

Hi,
I'm an MA student at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. I'm currently working on a project to convert text, entered onscreen by users, into three dimensional forms when initiated by clicking on a button. Each 3D form is to be unique to the text entered. Does anyone know how best to do this and whether Java is the best tool for this? Any help or ideas that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help, the link is a great starting point in the development of my project, but its not the "nail on the head", which is my fault. On reading back my last posts it seems I omitted a key word (sorry, my mistake) in the description of what I want to do, which is: "can Java convert text into abstract three dimensional forms?" By abstract three dimensional forms I was hoping to create something along the lines of what is possible with Rhinoscript, here is an example of the type of visual I want to be able create from the transformation of user entered text using computer code: http://www.theverymany.net/uploaded_images/080108_Srf_Test001_01_k_TVM-718625.jpg. I hope this sheds some light on the direction I'm hoping to take, so if you or anyone else can offer any more help or pointers I will be eternally grateful.

Looking at your code, it looks like you are trying to nest a for in a while in a for. This is very inefficient, so I suggest doing what I said in the last post:
1. go through your file first and build a StringTokenizer for it.
2. Once you have that, just build your matrix using nextToken from your StringTokenizer.

Hi guys my problem is as follows
(1)I want to create a two dimensional array of 10 rows and 20 columns
(2)Populate the array with random integers
(3)convert the two dimensinal array into one dimensional array int[]nums
(4)print the content of one and two dimensional arrays to the screen

You don't learn much about coding if you don't write any code. Without seeing the code that was written it's very difficult to assist a person, since your solution may not be anywhere close to their solution. If the poster just wants the code to hand in or use as is then there is no learning happening.
So, step 1 - post your code, step 1a - ask a clear question.

Trackpad two- and three-finger functions not working

Everything was fine last night, but when I turned on the computer this morning, the trackpad is not working correctly. Cursor movement with one finger feels different than normal (a bit sluggish) and two- and three-finger functions such as scrolling, enlarging, and navigating forward and back do not work. I have tried letting the computer sleep first, rebooting, shutting down and turning back on, and the trackpad firmware update from last November (which it said I did not need to update) and nothing has worked. The trackpad menu in the System Preferences offered nothing as well. I have not updated to Snow Leopard.

I had the same problem specially after carrying out the last update 4.3 the battery was draining very fast y. In addition to that the phone freezing initially for few minutes then for almost a day and finally continuously.
I did almost every thing but replacing the handset and non worked.
As a final attempt to fix the problem before I replace the unit and get a new one was to
1. connect the phone to the my computer (Mac)
2. Launch iTunes
3. Restore the phone to factory setting (with the 4.3) upgrade.
Of course I lost every thing my contacts all of my apps and phone settings. But it worked it has been two days now the phone didn't freeze and the battery life is even better than before.
Note:
1. All of my contacts, note, calendar, emails were backed up using my company exchanger
2. Before restoring I listed all of the apps that were installed and I reinstalled them one by one all over again.
Try this solution and I hope it works with you.

Can Lightroom recognize and import gps coordinates from xmp files?

Hello guys
i have LR 4.2 and using Lion with a MBP.
I recently got gps4cam for my iphone to record gps coordinates.
Unfortunately i imported all the pix of my vacation to LR instead of importing them with the gp24cam app first
so Now i have the xmp files with gps coordinates in a separate file for each photo, but LR even though ca see that file, does not import any of the info on it
Is there a way to force LR to read and recognize those gps coordinates without having to delete all the pix of my vacation from LR, and re-import them to my mac before with the gps4cam app and afterwards import em in LR.?
i mean i cant believe there is not way to do that...
y LR can read and recognize gps coordinates if are on a picture, but cant recognize and attach those same coordinate to the original fine if they are in a separate xmp file?

I would process differently:
Import your images as usual directly into LR, without the GPS data
copy the gpx-track from your external device to a storage sport from where LR can access it (my choice: same folder as my images).
Use either the map module to populate LR records with the GPS data (as stated by jim1403) or a plugin from Jeffrey Friedl for geo-encoding.
If you want to have the GPS data in your xmp, trigger the save from LR then (cmd s; may be auto-activated in your catalog settings)
Please note that several import problems have been reported by using other software before LR to update something. Do not let your GPS tracking software touch your images, especially if it offers to write into your proprietary raw files, at least not into your only copy of them... I consider this way too dangerous for my precious negatives. If it also creates xmp, then fine.
I am also a happy user of MotionX-GPS.
The real disdavantage of the LR command to read metadata from files is that it is all-or-nothing: it would be so convenient if one could choose which partial sort of metadata (EXIF, IPTC, development, GPS-coordinates, rating+caption+title) - but that would be a matter of a feature request, not for this forum.

Sorry for hijacking your thread as put by Dahveed. However I have resolved my issue so I thought I'll share it with the rest of you.
I checked for the error 3194 in youtube and I found some good videos that tell you how to resolve the problem. The issue I was facing was the actually (I know because I have resolved it now) the communication between my computer and apple server which can be fixed as following (if you are using windows):
There is file in following directory:
C:\Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
The file normally has no extension and it is in file format. You need to open it and make sure that every line that has apple server id starts with "#". In my case one of the line started directly with the ip address and then gs.apple.com.
Perform your restore/update after that and hopefully it should be resolved (mine did).

There's a lots of installation guide but each guide is for a "standard" installation, your environment is unique and you should get help to be sure to implement SCCM to fulfill your needs.
Installing SCCM without any experience will be tricky and maintain it will be even harder. This is not a simple product.

You do not buy Photoshop for 300 baht, you are renting it for that much a month. You set up an account with a valid credit card and to see if it is active, you go here. https://www.adobe.com/account/my-products-services.html Look under my Subscriptions.
If all is good, then with the same Adobe ID/password, select "License this Product" and sign in, or Help > Sign in.
That will license it.

The 3 beeps during start-up are telling you that the RAM is bad.
If you can access the RAM modules, you may try taking them out and putting them back in, perhaps it's only bad contacts.
If that doesn't help, you'll need new RAM module(s).
